Don't forget to lube the sides of the thrust bearing, and try a mixture of Lucas oil additive and 50weight oil applied with a brush for the mock up easy to clean after and will keep the bearing and crank safe
Didn’t you know these had to be notched? Machine shop should have if you had it line honed and decks ground. All 347s, 363s,some 331s unless a custom block have always required this.
Yes I did, but the two machine shops I used in this build were horrible and I didn’t want them touching anything else. Fortunately, This did not require a machine shop.
Unless asked to, many shops won't just grind in clearance if they're not assembling. Since a lot still mock up and do it this same way, if they don't have the rotating assembly, nothing they can really do anyways. I have a program for these and do them on my mill, mock up after just to double check.
this is what makes me want to go 331 vs 347 because a lot of 331s dont need notched if you used scat i beam rods. avoid the whole dam problem but i have decent machine shops around me

Finally, someone who understands that you only need enough assembly lube to fill in a few thousands of a gap.

If you can find a buddy to help, using a shop-vac while grinding really helps keep down the crap flying everywhere!

I guess it was the fact that Speedmaster sent me the wrong Rods and pistons. They wouldn’t exchange them so I had to buy them again.

My machine shop knows I'm building a 408 but I asked them NOT to clearance the block because in not paying them for something as simple as this
