    I will be building one like this coming up soon. Would you be able to give a part list of the entire 383 build?

    Nice clean looking shop & assembly!
    It would be great to hear about your assembly comments or suggestions.
    Also what sealeants ,parts & part numbers you used & why b you chose them.
    It would make a better video rather than just watchingbyou assemble & engine.

      Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to explain things a little more. Thanks for watching!

    I use a torsional flat brg fron an automatic trans between the washers, makes for easyer and faster balancer instal!

    a cam with same spec but with a 106 LSA instead of 110, would in theory, suite that mill better. nice build bro.

    Yes pin location is different
    I believe there are also different rod options 5.7 or 6

    Oil pickup screen is a bit tight for my taste, if be neveous running so close to the bottom of the pan, id at the very least have to use some playdoh or something to double check that. Before the gasket (depending on the gasket and thickness used) i like to see it have at least 1/4" gap to the floor. But thats just me, everyone does it differently and most ways do just fine.

      It has 3/8" clearance. I set it to 1/4" with no gasket, and the gasket adds another 1/8". The strap to keep the intake from touching the pan is 1/4" off the screen. That's what I put assembly lube on to check for contact. This engine has since made multiple passes on the track and holds great oil pressure through the entire run.

    How much did the machine shop charge to do the machine work and put it together

    I use modeling clay for 50 tho clearance using dip end of caliper for pump/ pan clearance!

    Hello, the engine build is looking good, is the roller cam ground on a reduced base circle, any clearance issues from rods to cam lobes?

    • @bkgaragerestorations
      @bkgaragerestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a standard base circle. It was good for clearance, but that was definitely something the machine shop was watching for.

    Would plastiguage work for checking the cam/cover clearance?

    • @bkgaragerestorations
      @bkgaragerestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see why something like that wouldn't work. Good idea.

    Went and got an ally cover for my one, hopefully a bit less flexing when it matters.

    • @bkgaragerestorations
      @bkgaragerestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good plan. This one is reinforced, so it's pretty stiff, but a cast one would be even tougher.

    That timing cover. is to close for my comfort/

    • @bkgaragerestorations
      @bkgaragerestorations  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It needs to be close. This engine has a roller cam, so the cover is reinforced and there is a cam button to prevent it from walking ahead.

    How does the stroker crank shaft not push the pistons up out of the cylinders into the valves? Special pistons?

    • @isaacesch944
      @isaacesch944 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes pistons are specific to different rod length and stroke, the wrist pin is higher in the piston and piston is usually shorter that a standard 350 piston.

      @@isaacesch944 how come nobody mentions a damn word about that shit in their videos?
