    Beautiful eagle drill. I have a black one. The young boy found a very nice hide separater. Thumb scraper at the end was very nice.

    I have to wonder what the landscape looked back then. Were they hunting in forest or brush ground, who knows !

      @@HeartbreakerRelics being from overseas but whatching this im intriged as many are found by waterways. Makes sence. But yours are found ..on the prarie.. as it may have been then. So stalking rather than ambush. Going by you finds they used different arrows for what they ani als they found. Fascinating.

    You have a well trained eye sir, I love your videos. My uncle had a farm in east Texas close to the sulfer river that was full of points and axes. He passed now and I never got a chance to walk that field, but have always wanted to. Have a great day

    This is how I grew up hunting for Indian relics. My dad would clear it with a land owner and we'd walk the plowed fields after a good rain and find all kinds of great stuff.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a great way to hunt artifacts. We have hunted these fields for well over twenty years and they are still producing. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

  • @MegaFoobar

    Them injuns was litterbugs.
    Seriously, it must have taken a lot of effort to make each point. Why did they just leave them laying around?

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  ปีที่แล้ว

      It really didn't take that much effort. They made them every day. They were utilitarian and you are right, they left a lot of them lying around. Also much of what we find is used up knives and points that they discarded.

      Thanks Calvin. This is the first year we have kept our stuff separated from the past stuff. We were counting up points the other day. Between Randy, Kenneth, myself and the other folks we have hunted with or have hunted with us since January, we have found well over 150 good points. Not bad for around here. Thanks again and good luck and happy hunting.

    Enjoyed the video ,are the broken ones from the tractor, or from when they were used back in the day ,looked like a good time in the field, keep um coming

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We believe most of them are broken from being used, broken and brought back to camp, removed and replaced with a new point. That said there are plenty broken by the disk. Our ratio of broken bases to tips is about 10:1. So that is how we come to our conclusion.

    • @porkchop803scwilliams9

    Love the videos, guys! Any chance of an outsider coming along on one of your hunts? I work in the same parish you're digging in a few days of the week. Would love to tag along. My brother and I just started hunting and I get jealous every time you find something. Haha.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks to you and your brother for watching our videos. We have never taken any "outsiders" along because we are not only protecting our sites but the landowners as well. Plus, to our surprise we have so many requests to tag along from from people we know we are not able to get them all in. In other words, our dance card is pretty full. Thanks for understanding.

    • @johnmaderemusic

    I recently moved from my home about 47 years. I went through all my stuff to narrow it all down. Believe me I kept over 30,000 artifacts. I brought back to my discard pile's on these sites probably 10,000 pieces of junk. When I first started 35 years ago I kept everything. When I went back through my stuff I couldn't believe I kept things just because a native touched it!!!! Lol We don't find as much as you boys out west here in Maine. Sometimes when I don't find much of anything, and go to my discard pile, I might find something nice in it to take with me.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have gone back through my "junk" boxes in the past and fond stuff that I didn't know what it was when I first found it.
