  • Here at Heartbreaker Relics, passing along the passion for hunting and collecting Native American artifacts is a huge part of what we would like to accomplish. We took a big step in that direction on this trip. In "The Making of a Relic Hunter" you will see a young man find some of the finest artifacts even a seasoned hunter would be trilled to find. Come along with us and share another great day of finding arrowheads and special artifacts in the creek.

    Amazing. Love it. Nothing in the world as peaceful & yet exciting as rounding the next bend of a creek! Nose pointed down, eyes riveted to the changing flow of the water, hoping & praying you'll run across at least one arrowhead. Finding them buried in the sides of the creek, just a point sticking out, WOW! WHOOPEE!! Really?! Then finding a round game ball on a sandbar. You keep in mind the "lucky" areas. And the added benefit of all the wildlife you come across, this is what heaven should be.😍

    Looks like a lot of fun guys and I'll have to say it is certainly awesome to hold something like that in your hands. But do you document your funds so that archaeologists might be able to determine something of the sights used and the time periods that those archaic people were there? A point in the hand is pretty neat but the story behind it could be even better. Good luck.

      Heartbreaker Relics , thanks for responding! I'm a major rock hound as well relic and Petrie wood collector. Can't get out any longer, health issues you know. I saw some beautiful rocks, agate and the like and you know what they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure! We don't have gravely creeks here and as I stated, can't get out any longer but sure wish I could. I enjoyed the video and finds so much but I am envious of that gravel anyway. Looking forward to your next video. 😊

    I found a perfectly round carved stone ball on a job site in Foster City Ca. in the late 80's. It was in the dirt next to San Francisco Bay's southern, delta-like end. I suspected it was something unusual and kept it. No idea where it's currently stored but it was similar in size and grain structure but lighter colored. Time to go through my rock collections.

    The spherical "stone game ball" is actually a tendon or ligament ball from a long dead large animal. All creatures including us have these in our bodies, ours are very small but there purpose is to act as a a mount for tendons to attach to on both ends. They also act as a universal joint to allow a broad area of movement when the ligaments stretch and contract. Great find mind you i find them all the time up here in Canada though not one so large. Beautiful arrow heads also!! Keep up the good work

    • @chrismarsden8958
      @chrismarsden8958 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nelsonx5326 If something dies in a condition especially mud where there is no oxygen will change the chemistry of everything relative to the PH level of the water changes what type of stones they will become. Time is also a lie. After 40 years of a fence in the desert at 30 years of a constant Temperature above 40 degrees will turned into petrified wood!!! A world War 2 tank was just found half buried in a swamp and the top in the air, obove the ground remained Steel. The other half in the mud became stone. Found 2 years ago.

      ronnie lard same story almost too the T your story is almost like a time capsule of my life. My grandmother turned out to be Cherokee didn’t find out until I was twelve but she has taught me how to enjoy the great outdoors relic hunting only she knew more camp sites in Iowa than one could possibly dream of. She actually grew up studying the Ioway, Sioux, camp sites turning most of her 17 grandkids into hunting fanatics . Just responded because of your comment happy hunting always go the extra mile.

    Wow great game ball Kenneth! It reminds me of one I found when I was deer hunting with my dad several years back. Mine was 3/4 buried in the dirt right at the side of a path we were on. I looked down at a deer track and saw the game ball and it just looked "out of place" so i dug it up with a stick and you would'nt believe my surprise when that thing rolled out onto the top of the ground. My best find ever. Congrats on yours and good hunting.

      It is made from clay, like pottery. They come in all sizes but are not common. No one really knows what they were used for. My personal opinion is they were made while making pottery from clay already prepared for bowls or whatever and given to the children to play with. Just my opinion.

      I really enjoy these arrowhead finding videos. I always liked walking in the woods,
      I looked up the thing I found and it could be an Indian relic. Or from the 1800's, a kids marble. No hole through it. It is very round.

      Field Stomper very true. Fortunately I have one. It's alot bigger than the one in this video. It's baseball sized. Ran across a great find a couple hrs ago. I can't wait to look around more and start digging. Was just cleaning up a lil and noticed some glass and odd stuff and bam an arrowhead. Found a very very odd rock, and a white marble that looks nothing like what I'm used to seeing as a marble.
      This rock looks like its been altered for a specific use/reason. It's looks like a stack cake but it's odd shaped. Kinda triangular with a darker rock from top and has what looks to be to look like an eye and or it's circular and odd that this thing is layered like a brick mason would kinda. Looks like two different colored rocks we're worked then layered to make one rock. Any clue you all may have or is this just an odd rock. The spot on that ball in the video looks the same on the rock. It's like as if the darker part the two different rocks used to make one. The two layers between top and bottom are white with a thin looking(mortar joint) dark line then white then back to dark. This thing is odd and I feel it's gotta be something

    That worm / Snake thing is called a Ling.............. They grow up to 5 to 6 ft. or longer . They are also here in Ontario Canada as we caught 1 years ago not knowing what it was, luckily another fisherman knew to inform us. They stay long and Sleek and are Black in color . Ours was caught in Lake Ontario if that helps with which bodies of water they are seen and can survive in. Love the Video . Speaking of unusual things to find in unusual places, I just found an Effegy Human head that's about 4.5 in. long by 2.5 wide with a perfect semetrical hole about 1.5 in. down from the top of which is the head area. I believe the hole represents the Eye . The Eye area appears to have a Diamond like shape surrounding the outer eye tho it is not perfecty Diamond shaped you can see an attempt to cut the Diamond shape around the eye. The back of the eye was not so meticulously done and is a chunked out tear drop shape. I found my Effegy in a tore up parking lot down the street from where I live. How Kewl is that.............I also found a Stone Age Nail File touring Creek beds. Happy Hunting Guys. I'm your Canadian PT competition . Will be Posting my Artifacts Video soon.

      It's not uncommon to encounter migrating eels. There's a place all eels go to spawn -- the Sargasso Sea off the Atlantic coast. It's mysterious, actually a gyre (giant rotating current). There may have once been a land mass there that played a role in eel evolution. Both European and American eels travel there. Check out the Gilcrease Museum website for some nice photos of Mississippi game balls (chunkey balls) although they look quite different - not perfectly round. I recall reading somewhere that the round balls may have been used spiritually to help call game to the hunter or fish to a favorite fishing hole. Some folks believe these balls were used for cooking and warming food - rather than look for nice cooking stones you carried these with you - heated them up and dropped them into a wood bowl for cooking.

    Your videos are really nice, and enjoy the music too! So glad to see the next gen with you, and teaching him the love of a lifetime hobby that never gets boring. I just started hunting several months ago and I mostly find what I think are tool artifacts, along the creek banks. I don't dig, just surface hunt, and sometimes in the creek. I really love it, since I have retired. But, getting a bit frustrated with my ID of the things I find. I have gotten books from library on artifacts, but so far, they mostly depict the arrowheads, points, etc., which I don't find. Do you guys know of any books I might could do more research on stone tools, etc.? I have been on web, but don't find a lot of tools, either...maybe not searching right or? And, I do prefer books, as they take less of my time than searching on web (although youtube vids are even better, not many peeps ID all their pieces when they find them)...Any heads up, advice you can give is appreciated. Haven't seen but a couple of your vids so far, but look forward to seeing a lot more! Thanks you guys...wish I was there!! Singing Wolf

      Thanks for watching and for the great comment. The book that seems to be a standard among collectors is "Overstreet Arrowheads - Identification and Price Guide - 14th Edition".
