      Randy and I both have had health issues that slow us down a bit a few months ago. Neither of them serious but enough to keep us down for a little bit. We are back and in true form. Hang in there and keep pushing. You'll get better.

    My Grandfather was a collector. I have fond memories surface hunting with him as a kid. He has been gone since 86 and how I would love to go arrowhead hunting with him one more time. Those who have never done it just would not understand the respect these guys have for their finds. My Grandad is gone but your videos bring it all back for me. Thanks guys.

    Awesome video! Thanks for sharing the view. I was out hunting points one time and came up on a bunch of dead baby snappers that the plow had killed. there was one still barely alive, so I put it in my shirt pocket, and raised it 3 years, then released it.

      Thanks. We realized most people didn't watch the clean-up/wrap-up at the end of most videos. Randy is a pretty good photographer so we came up with the idea of the glamor shots at the end. Thanks for helping to "validate" our decision. We thought the baby turtle was a great contrast to the one in "Ending Our Creek Season With a Bang". Thanks again for watching and for leaving comments. Could you please explain.

    • @Bartolobot
      @Bartolobot 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well I'll tell you what I thought as i watched. To me It seams like a real easy thing to do in order to get a couple more of your friends interested in arrow head hunting . that would be to take a bunch of your less desirable points from your collection and go out there just before a rain and drop them on the field and on the surface ensuring they would all be found and maybe step on a few to disguise the fact that this is not a fresh find. and organize a hunt the next morning after the rain.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you're talking about is "seeding". People have been know to do this especially with children in hopes it would help to generate more interest. I take it you are not an artifact hunter. Every person hunting this field in this video is a seasoned artifact hunter and I can assure you nothing we find is "less desirable". They're just too hard to find. The fact is this site is basically a virgin site, meaning there have been a few things picked up in the field before but it had never been really hunted, especially by four people who know what to look for. This is a link to the first hunt in this field. We had a great day but it wasn't as good as the second hunt.
      th-cam.com/video/mGHdmipiuvk/w-d-xo.html
      Last but not least, thank you for watching the video and for replying back with a comment. Most people that leave negative comments never explain them. Lastly, I can assure you we would never seed a field or creek or anything else and every point you see is lying exactly where it was found, insitu. Please look at some of our other videos and get to know us a little better. I think you'll be glad you did.

    I have a question what does fire popped mean

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and for the question. Fire popped refers to a section of the artifact that has been damaged due to fire or extreme heat. If the piece gets hot such as in a forest or camp fire any moisture inside the material can super heat forming a steam pocket that can explode driving off a piece of the material. The same can happen with below freezing temps, only the moisture freezes and expands with the same results. This is referred to as a freeze pop.

  • @Bartolobot
    @Bartolobot 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    can anyone offer an explanation as to why you found so many arrow heads in such a small plot? is this where every Indian in north America came to test their arrows? Where are you anyways then its very odd that they all lay on the surface don't you think?

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bart, thanks for all the questions. You may find this hard to believe but there are sites like this all over North America and no telling where else. You see, this site has artifacts ranging over a ten thousand year span. Which means people were living or camping here off and on for over ten thousand years, leaving a lot of artifacts behind. The video says we are in Pike County Mississippi. No further details will be given simply because we don't want other folks in this field. Lastly, no it is not odd all of the ones we found were lying on the surface. Why? Because that is where we looked. We did not dig deeper for no doubt we would have found others buried beneath the surface and that would require more work than we wanted to put in on this trip (it was hot). There are more than likely thousands of artifacts buried within a quarter mile radius of where we were hunting. You see when these fields or disked or plowed it turns over a few inches of the soil and when it rains it exposes the artifacts. I hope this helps alleviate some of your skepticism. Check out some of our other videos and thanks for watching.
