For the past while I’ve been on the “Bailu isn’t Baiheng” train, mainly cause Jingliu and Blade I feel aren’t reliable sources due to being marastruck, but the core of the story still feels right *emotionally* and I think thats something thats always been at the core of hoyoverses stories period. Its how we can have all this complex world lore but still have the ending that Hi3 part 1 did.
I agree that Blade and Jingliu's reliability is questionable, but the thing is, the Mara doesn't cause them to make up entirely new stories, it just distorts their memory of what happened, meaning details may be exaggerated or diminished, but the core events are the same. The two of them (+Dan Heng IL) agree on the key points - a monster was spawned (Jingliu/Blade agree) from Baiheng's remains (Blade/IL agree) when Dan Feng tried to revive her (Jingliu/IL agree). I seriously love these stories. Hoyoverse did incredible with Dan Heng and then again with Aventurine. I can't wait to see Amphoreus
In one of Bailu’s interactions on the train she mentions that every time she visits the Express, her dreams that night are about flying. Vidyadhara high elders see glimpses of their past life through dreams and Baiheng was a pilot.

I live and breathe for all of the Xianzhou and Dan Heng angst that Hoyoverse decides to cook up. His story is so freaking cool and I love that it is being showcased so amazingly!
unfortunately i have to disagree. his lore is amazing don't get me wrong but 1.2 story did none of that justice at all, IL and Jingliu cmpanion missions tried to make up for it and they were nice but they didn't do it justice either. fortunately enough 2.5 story with Lingsha and Taoran did do some of it justice and i am hopeful for the future but to say that the game treats his story excellently couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion considering that 1.2 story is probably the worst story Hoyo has written by far.
@@iamemamae i mean if you like it then that's cool. i just personally think it was bad and even if the payoff is good that won't suddenly make the set up good, of course things can be elevated in hindsight but it can be elevated only so much, even if it was only a setup/prologue to a larger story, it doesn't mean that it can be excused of bad execution(again just my opinion obv), if u don't think that the execution was that bad then that's fine. then for you the Loufu story as a whole will be a story with muddy setup story and hopefully good payoff story(if they handle the payoff well) but for me it will be story with BAD setup story and hopefully good payoff story some of the payoff we are already starting to see with 2.4 and 2.5 stories which were handled well and restored my faith in Xianzhou plotline

the way you narrated the story is top tier. i hardly cared about the HCQ story during the main XZ LF arc because hyvs did a pretty lacking work on showing us the true gravity of their bond, actions, motives and history, all in favor of subtle writing but at the cost of emotional impact, it also didn't help that the fandom only cares about shipping and the drama born from it constantly left a bad taste in my mouth. but this? dear god, i teared up a little. i hope one day- that "bottle of resentment" as blade called it, will be emptied and they (DH, blade, JY, JL and bailu too) will be friends and a family again.

Mhm, but with Dan Heng it has the added layer of the Nature of the Permanence actually being death and rebirth over and over again. Long died, and through their death there was a new beginning with the Vidyadhara and their other 2 children. But now the Vidyadhara are reaching their end WHICH MEANS ACCORDING TO THE PERMANENCE, there will be a new beginning. :) But yeah, everyone on the crew has some tie to a different aeon and it's so fascinating!
This the most concise explanation I heard yet and it makes a lot of sense. Dan Heng's story was one of those that i felt was ruined by shipping. When I first read about the 'beloved', my first thought was the fox girl but people kept insisting it was Dan Heng and Blades secret love relationship.. I am all for shipping but not when it is used to blindly distort the actual story. I would love to see you do full backstory for other characters too. Thank for the amazing video.
Yeah, I totally get that. If you're looking at the readables, the two of them were very close, and no one expected them to be that close (Dan Feng was very proud, Yingxing was very arrogant, everyone expected the two of them to butt heads, but they didn't and instead the two of them often went stargazing together, and they made a pair of armguards together, each of them wearing one). But there is NO REASON to believe that specific reference of "The Beloved" is referring to Dan Feng. It's very clearly Baiheng. IF there was any sort of relationship between the two of them, I'd say it may have been unrequited, with Dan Feng loving Yingxing and Yingxing loving Baiheng. But yeah, I hate when shipping discourse takes over actual theorizing...it's so pointless...
First of all, I love the script for this video. I really fuck with more emotional takes on theories that still use evidence to back things up. Don't get me wrong, more clinical "here are the things we know and what we can extrapolate from it" are still good and very helpful resources for people like me who don't have the time to go read all the lore books. But I play games because they tell stories, and I think it's important to not get bogged down with jargon and the like to make enough room for the emotions the stories tell. It's why I love tuning in to your theories because even if I've seen contradicting evidence/interpretations elsewhere I still get to hear a well thought out and heartfelt reading of the horrors that happen in our favorite space train game. OH MY GOD thank you for making this video, I've always interpreted the story the exact same way as you've described, both of them (yingxing and dan feng) desperate to save a close friend. In jingliu's quest, in blade's monologue he says "why does someone like HER, have to buried and eventually forgotten?", so I've always thought that there was some sentment there, but i've never seen someone think the same way! I had pieced together the idea that it had to do with Baiheng dying and that she was likely Bailu and it has to do with the flesh of an Eminator of Abundance but I didn't understand how it exactly happened. It was the Transmutation Arcanium that was the piece I couldn't figure out. And you're right I started crying when you made the comparison between the Express crew and the Quintet. I don't know if that was intentional by the developers or not but damn it's a beautiful image.
I absolutely lost my mind when Dan Heng returned to the shackling prison. Like wtf is wrong with the xianzhou imprisoning a literal child for the entirety of their formative years. And then forcing him to go back for an interview that absolutely could have been held elsewhere!
20:45 oooh so THATS what happened in that scene, it always confused the hell out of me how the characters seemed to understand what happened and thus never explained it when it was so...vague I really hope they make it explicitly clear later in the main game instead of tiny scattered details that he can be healed by turning into a literal dragon, please, hoyo gods, let him do something awesome as a dragon at some point!!
Actually...the more i think about this specific part of this video the more im bothered by something - WHY was this the goal of Blade's role in this quest? Like, Dan Heng needing to be forced to trigger the draconic transformation makes sense if he didnt know he could do it before while a way to brute force it was known, but what purpose does it actually serve? My best guess is that this transofrmation came with the knowledge of how to work the seal, since Dan Heng only has scattered memories of Dan Feng's and yet he's so knowledgable about how the deal and High Elder powers work that hes able to teach Bailu later. And i mean, if he could teach her before, there wouldn't have been need to nearly kill Dan Heng and potentially risk him refusing to help the crisis after being put through that - this is, after all, the result of the deal struck between Blade and Jing Yuan, the general does takes risks but only calculated ones, and unlike Blade he doesnt have the reassurance of Elio promising that Dan Heng, who Jing Yuan hasn't seen since he was exiled fresh out of a childhood of imprisonment, would be so willing to risk so much for the Loufu's sake, so it just makes more sense that this HAD to happen for the seal ro be unlocked at all, right? But...if the Transmutation Arcanum is just about making the High Elders into dragons, why would that also put such specific information into his head? We see in his signature lightcone that Dan Heng looked lke this while imprisoned, its not like this is the first time he's been Imbibitor Lunae, its just the dragon transformation and healing from the mortal wound that were intrlduced to him here, yet knowledge comes with it for some reason? And whatever that reason is, its something that Jing Yuan felt he could rely on, its a known part of the whole "give a high elder a grave injury and theyll briefly be a dragon whether they consciously choose to be or not" schtick. Am i crazy or is there something weird there, like there's more to the Arcanum than just transmuting species. I wonder if it's maybe something to do with Long? Like its the same dragon they turn into every time, across all reincarnations, so the task of protecting the Arbour got ingrained in the time since Yubie started it? I dunno, im just spitballing at this point 😅
Dan Heng needed to remember for a few reasons. One being so he could work the seal, yes. The other is that if he hadn't had his abilities in the battle against Phantylia, thins probably wouldn't have gone the way they did. But my best guess is that him having the power of Long is going to come into play in a MAJOR way later down the line with the story. Him remembering pieces of his past life as a result I don't think have to do with the Transmutation Arcanum (at least not directly). I think using the Transmutation again triggered some memories BECAUSE the Preceptors did their little witchy woo to make his memories stay, they just needed to be triggered. But those memories aren't a Package deal with the transmutation or anything.
OMG THANK YOU! Thank you for making it clear Baiheng was important to EVERYONE and not just Jingliu. So many people love to just gloss over that all of the quintet loved and adored her. Im pretty sure they do that for shipping reasons which is stupid but this was such a breath of fresh air😂
I have been waiting ever since 1.2 for Dan Heng to get justice for everything that was done to him. Thank you for bringing all this to light, I feel like not enough people know about it.
He will get justice. In fact he already has for the most part after 2.5. He's atoned for what he did and is now working to right his past wrongs, and more than that, he got to confront the preceptor who set him up. He's renewed his friendship with Jing Yuan, he has his own life now. He's on a good path. I hope it lasts for him.
This was so good. Keep this up! When it reached the part of Dan Heng's exile while playing the game, I had an epiphany that Jing Yuan probably orchestrated it. And he's really better off in the train. Dude wasn't given a chance for a proper rebirth, surrounded by people who will definitely take advantage of him. Good thing Jing Yuan is already a General when it happened. The Sleepy General grew on me on the Wardance when even as a young soldier, he really wanted to help Belebog, even issuing an invitation despite ot being a supposedly 'dead' planet.
Jing Yuan is a really good person. He keeps getting put in these difficult spots, but always ends up finding a way out of them with kindness and justice. He's so cool.

Especially because it’s emotionally consistent with the reactions of various characters in the game, if this is rly what he did and what happened as a result. Can't believe that the Transmutation Arcanum is the piece that I was missing in the entire Xianzhou lore. And the whole "Bailu is/isn't Baiheng" theorizing all went nowhere, when the characters didn't ever clarify who Bailu was. I don't think the term Transmutation Arcanum was even said more than, like what 5 times(being generous) throughout all our time in the Luofu? And even then all a non-lore buff could ever glean from it was "Dan Feng did a really bad thing", while most accounts of his actions are extremely vague at best, and outright misrepresenting at worst. Great vid!!

Its been driving me nuts that we understand so little of the Sedition itself yet of what we do know its reinforced several times that the Preceptors hold at least some responsibility, arguably more considering they took advantage of someones grief and guilt and sense of responsibility to his race as having been raised as the High Elder his whole life, Taoran was the one making a clear minded decision to incite all of this regardless of the risks...and people just dont talk about it? Ive seen a few mentions of it in some twitter threads but even they were mostly dedicated to theorising other parts of this whole mess instead of wondering what the hell the Preceptors are willing to do to get what they want if they prompted that DISASTER and dont seem to have even slowed down by choice - people like Jing Yuan and i think maybe the other High Elders are keeping a closer eye on them now. The Hoolay incident seems to be proof that theyre no longer content to stay under the radar though, so who knows what comes next...

I jest, but this is honestly incredible! What sold it to me is the fact that you actually fucking explained WHY they used Shuhu's body, like, seriously, so many people don't elaborate on it and it's refreshing to have it explained even if it's not canon, I also love the way you described it as a combination of the Abundance regeneration combined with the High Elder's regeneration, that's was brilliant! Although, on the topic of the High Elder's regen, YOU CAN'T JUST DROP "The transmutation Arcanum is just the Fire Emblem dragon stones but with a regen factor" WHAT THE FUCK?! (In somewhat seriousness, that is the only thing that isn't quite selling it to me, like, yes it could be as easy as "It's just so that we get more attached to Dan Heng on his Imbibator Lunae form" but also it doesn't feel like DHIL the man is an illusion of sorts with the dragon being the actual Dan Heng... This may not be anything, but I remember in the Penacony Arc, when they all were trapped in their own respective dream until Black Swan started waking everyone up, Dan Heng said that his dream was to travel with the crew forever, but he knows deep down that the dream was unrealistic. I've always wondered why he would think this way (I just assumed it was because he's a long-life species and the rest of them aren't) but maybe there's something more? I don't think he's predicting the future or assuming he'll meet the same demise as his former self, but maybe its alluding to something else down the line?
@@justfluff6436 Who knows. It seems to be implied that Dan Heng is a lot closer to a human now than he is to a Vidyadhara (he's aging faster than Bailu for one thing), so maybe he'll age with us but who knows...
Two take aways from this video: March 7th's silly mantra when on the path of the hunt and using her ultimate invokes the Azure Dragon, who she probably doesn't know is her buddy Dan Heng in a prior life. The description of Baiheng's reincarnation process has parallels to Ruan Mei's experiment on Tingyuan.
Watching the ad, I heard you talk about Mochi. I helped make mochi once. A family I used to know would all get together in December, soak and cook rice, break out a very old mochi machine (I forget what it is actually called) and work in a line forming out the mochi balls, and packing them for each section of the family. They invited often invited friends and so I got to join a couple different times. It was fun, and I LOVE mochi, even just plain mochi, lightly toasted with a lil soy sauce. 😋

Dan Heng is my favourite character for the same reason as you. Ever since I saw the first beta being played and saw him for the first time, I loved him ever since. 😌🥺
whats up with my favorite characters have the most confusing lore bro. Dan Heng's lore is still so vague even after almost 2 years and then my other fav character, Arlecchino from Genshin we know like nothing about her still 😭anywasy great video i eat up every Dan Heng lore video i can find.
I think that the enciting riot part comes after his arrest. There was a ghost during his quest that was talking about Dan Feng succeding in his experiment. Even though it was an abomination it was still new life that he created trought the transmutation arcanum and I imagine a lot of Vidyadhra finding this out would like to continue expermineting regardless of the risks.
Honestly, I think that part was more as a warning to the Preceptors. It was never Dan Feng's intention to truly "throw off" the rules of the Xianzhou. He just wanted to bring his friend back. But the Preceptors did want to throw off the rules, and Dan Feng, as their instrument for doing so, was the perfect person to make an example of.
I’m curious as to how the “Undestroyed Letter” readable fits into this theory. It describes some of the Preceptors’ and Disciples’ schemes and their control of Bailu, but also says “Back then, we unintentionally created the miracle of Bloomborn Scion, but there is a limit to mere luck”. The “we” pronoun is a little vague, it could refer to their organization as a whole and how they influenced Dan Feng to do what he did, but it could also imply something more recent happened, perhaps that more recently, they created Bailu from the remains of the abomination because of how they lacked someone powerful enough. Ofc we don’t really know how long it takes their eggs to hatch but given how people don’t seem too surprised about Bailu’s short height for her age, it would seem that she’s on the younger side Something else to note is that the game claims that Dan Feng appointed Bailu as his successor, yet Dan Feng never spoke a single word during his Sedition, and would probably be pretty unlikely to appoint who he would have believed to be Baiheng as the leader beforehand, especially given that he didn’t know he was being framed. So either way, it seems that the Preceptors tried to claim a Puppet High Elder for themselves during these incidents
I just went back and read it. The people writing those letters aren't the preceptors - it's the disciples of Sanctus Medicus, OR it's possible that the first writer is a Preceptor. The person writing the second letter is more than likely Dan Shu herself (you can tell because at the end of the first letter, the writer tells her to find someone to read it for her, as well as describing her as a "she"). This would indicate that the Vidyadhara preceptors have been working with Sanctus Medicus for a very long time, which again would make sense given how desperate/power hungry they are. My best guess is the Preceptors allowed Bailu to be at least partially raised by Dan Shu (since she had an aptitude for abundance to begin with, being partially made using an emanator's flesh), and allowed her to be trained as a healer. The Bloomborn Scion isn't Bailu - it's just another one of their experiments, but a destructive one. I'm pretty sure it's the Abundant Ebon deer (we literally see it emerge from a "blooming" flower). But either way, the "we" in that statement is being spoken by Dan Shu, meaning "we" is probably Sanctus Medicus, not the preceptors. Dan Feng didn't appoint Baiheng as the next high elder verbally, but he did *partially* pass on his power to Bailu. THIS is what the game means when it says he "appointed" her. She doesn't have the transmutation arcanum, but she is considered the new high elder by the people of the Xianzhou we see in the readables. AND it's confirmed in gameplay when Dan Heng can no longer seal the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor himself, but he and Bailu can do it together since the power of Imbibitor Lunae is now split between the two of them.

great video! i really like watching breakdowns related to the hqc because the story is so good! a shame the game presents it in such a scattered way (i wish the main quest was better executed) by the way, when you were saying that no one talks about how the preceptors likely set up dan feng’s crime, i instantly remembered another lore channel that also talked about bunch about dan feng (the only other person i saw mentioning it). it’s called lalody’s lore! i recommend watching some of her videos :)

I had read through the High Cloud Quintet’s character stories and pieced a lot of this together. I didn’t make the connection between Jingliu becoming Mara struck and Shuhu’s flesh. It could explain why her Mara manifests differently than most of the Mara struck we’ve seen.
Mhm, it's not super hidden, you just have to understand how a few things fit together to understand the full story. And yeah! Jingliu became Mara struck a lot earlier than others. That whole thing with the silken threads slicing through her consciousness? That's mara apparently.
damn this video was incredibly well made, probably the best yet, the only thing that confused me was the start where you mentioned all the apparently conflicting accounts when only took away immortality and gave immortality are conflicting, also I think the reason he is charged with taking immortality is because he killed a lot of the vidyadhara
The thing at the beginning is specifically talking about all the things I heard people say when asking them what they understood about Dan Feng' s story. Like I actually had a conversation that went along the lines of "did you know dan feng got exiled because he made someone immortal?" "NO HE DIDN'T, HE MADE A MONSTER." That kind of stuff. Whenever I had these conversations with people, so many of them hadn't done enough research to understand that multiple different sources were true simultaneously. As for "taking away immortality" and "giving immortality", of those two, Dan Feng only gave someone immortality, he didn't take it away. The lightning beast destroying a bunch of Vidyadharan eggs and killing the Vidyadhara inside actually falls under a different unforgivable sin - "Phratry Murder." It's " violently taking the lives of fellow Xianzhou peoples." Of the ten unforgivable sins, he did SIX of them, but the two in the verdict are ones he did not do. My best guess is the Xianzhou didn't want anyone to know that he'd succeeded in his experiment. If they'd charged him with "involuntary immortalization," some would have started to guess.
I love this video so much. I need more lore theorists to explain more of the hsr story ❤ my only comment would be to keep tect on screen longer. Pausing to read pulls me out kf the emotional rollercoaster that youre narrating so effectively.

Believe me, you're not the only one. The shipping of the two of them really got out of hand. There is some evidence for it (Dan Feng was proud, Xingxing was arrogant but they never butted heads. They often went stargazing together, they shared a pair of bracers so they'd "always be connected") but the "Beloved" bit isn't one of them.
I thought all of this was confirmed on the epilogue of the Xianzhou where both Bailu and Dang Heng use their powers to seal the ambrosial arbor and the reason why Dang Heng stays behind in the Xianshou is to teach Bailu cloudhymn magic (the spells of the vinyadara). The video was well done and concisely explained. But did people really not have this understanding before? Most of your other videos helped me understand aspects of the story, but here this was all lined up from what I already thought. So I'm just mostly surprised this was not the common understanding.
If i remember right, Yubie was actually the 90th or 93rd Imbibitor Lunae. Somewhere around there, it's on the wiki. And I really doubt there was only 3 generations of Imbibitor Lunae, especially how long Vidyadhara live as well as how long back the contract in a sense between the Vidyadhara and the Xianzhou was. So, I don't think Yubie is the VERY first Imbibitor Lunae, but i definitely think he is one of the more famous High Elders on the Luofu. Ps, when Yubie imprisoned the Ambrosial Arbor in the Vidyadhara ocean thing, i forgot the exact details, but I'm sure that how the Preceptors reacted. It would make mrle sense that Yubie wasn't the first, but rather around 90th or 93rd, again, I'm not fully sure, i didn't see the wiki as I'm writing this. Edit: I checked and Yubie is the 91th Imbibitor Lunae.
Wiki’s wrong on this one. Yubie is the 91st reincarnation, but those first 90 reincarnation cycles were not spent on the Xianzhou. It was only AFTER coming to the Xianzhou that he took the title “Imbibitor Lunae.” The 91st incarnation of that person IS his first incarnation as Imbibitor Lunae. And yes, I agree there are MANY more incarnations of him, in between Yubie and Dan Feng (I even made note of that at the end of section 1) but Yubie, Dan Feng and Dan Heng are the only ones we have names for.
never really looked into it but i had figured out that the sedition was the attempted revival of biheng, didnt know about the preceptors and the dragon fight though 😵
So many people are confused on the dragon and rebellion accounts. The dragon feels completely disconnected from the attempted resurrection when you're reading it UNLESS you understand the importance of the Transmutation Arcanum and care enough to sus out the mechanics (based on how we see it used) for yourself, and they didn't care to explain it well enough for people to really catch on.

I've heard the Preceptors told Dan Heng to do the Sedition theory once from a really small channel, and I fully agree with this thought. I'm still skeptical on Bailu and Baiheng's connection though because we still don't actually know when Bailu was born, combined with the conflicting Bloomborn scion in the readables that has very similar personalities and circumstances as Bailu. I saw another comment talk about the unreliable narrator situation and your response but I'm just gonna put my thoughts on that with this comment. Technically, only Blade, Dan Feng, and the preceptors know what really happened. Jingliu only arrived after the preceptors called the cloud knights, so she can only speculate (she was also very close to Baiheng which could add more biases). Blade on the other hand is completely mara striken combined with being killed hundreds of times by Jingliu, meaning, as Kafka says, "He doesn't remember much..." Blade barely remembered his name (passerby headpiece), which makes me doubt he remembers any detail of the sedition save for what Jingliu (who is basically speculating) has told him. Anyway I love Xianzhou lore so it's good to see other people's POV on it even if it slightly disagrees with mine before Hoyo finally reveals the whole story.
I'm like 98% sure the Bloomborn Scion is the Ebon deer (we literally see it step out of a blooming flower). I've gone over the readable you mention ("Undestroyed letter"). The first seems to be written by the Preceptors (Gouchen is probably a fake name) given what they mention in the letter ("lineage broken" and the succession of the high elders are both things they express an interest in in other readables). The second letter is likely written by Dan Shu, given what they say about her needing someone to read the letter to her. So this suggests a conspiracy between the Preceptors and Sanctus Medicus. That being said, the Bloomborn Scion is mentioned in the second letter as something created by Dan Shu and Sanctus Medicus. If Bailu were the Bloomborn Scion, it would make DAN SHU responsible for the continuation of the Vidyadharan species. But the rediscovery of the ability to reproduce has only ever been attributed to Dan Feng. Meaning that the Bloomborn Scion can't be Bailu. It wouldn't surprise me if some of this "secret knowledge" for how to use the Transmutation Arcanum and the flesh of Shuhu came from Dan Shu, but she wasn't responsible for creating Bailu. As for Blade being an unreliable narrator, I do agree to a point but the thing is, we do see moments where he remembers, and the idea of him having learned what he knows from Jingliu falls apart when you see he has details she doesn't mention, which align with Dan Feng's account. Plus, on a timeline, we don't really have any time she could've spoken to him about the events of that day. His stories are going to be patchy (which we see - he doesn't remember peoples names, he has weird gaps in his accounts), But the details he DOES remember I'm inclined to trust. I can't think of any reason for him to lie.
@ oooh interesting, I never thought about the Ebon Deer's relation to this. I was going through some if the primary sources around all the sanctus medicus stuff and to be honest, the Bloomborn Scion being Bailu thing is kind of based on connections that can be a bit of a reach. But still regarding Bailu being a reincarnation of Baiheng, the letter does say that Bailu is young. Dan Shu only converted to a disciple of Sanctus Medicus in the last ~30 years, so the letter had to be written within that time, meaning Bailu probably is probably not much more than 100 years old (idk what Vidyadhara count as "young" but I would assume ~1/7 of expected life span is good enough). In the Appeal from the Vidyahara that you show when talking about how the preceptors wanted Dan Feng back because they realized the Transmutation Arcanum wasn't passed to a theoretical Bailu, the ending quotations tell us that this is Jing Yuan's first problem as a general, and we know that when we meet him, he has had been general for centuries. (This is another can of worms tbh because he's supposedly the "longest serving general of the Xianzhou Luofu," yet Teng Xiao was alive, and I assume a general since he is the one that defeats Shuhu with Lightning Lord on the Cangcheng, in year 6300 of the Star Calendar which is a whole thousand years before the Shuhu upheaval period which he was still general in, and that was 700-800 years ago so ???). But anyway, I feel like Bailu would have to have been born after the appeal letter to count as being "young" which then like when is Bailu born? Onto Blade. The only time he and Jingliu would have been able to interact with is during the "training" where Jingliu killed him a whole lot. The phrase "Of five, three must pay the price" was originally from Jingliu, and Blade mentions in one of his voice lines that those words were "carved into my every wound." There is no other confirmation that Jingliu told any more about the sedition but I think it is possible, idk. I agree that he has no reason to lie, but my concern is he doesn't even know he's lying. Another thing about Dan Feng (or Heng), if the preceptors are the ones behind this, which is pretty darn likely as you've discussed, it's likely that Dan Heng only learns about the sedition from a perspective that the preceptors want him to (so he doesn't spoil their plan or whatever). What Dan Feng "remembers" through the mirage echoes doesn't mention any details, other than Blade isn't supposed to be there, unless I'm missing something. As far as I can recall, I don't think Dan Heng was even aware of Baiheng as a companion of Dan Feng prior to the Jingliu/Dan Heng companion quest where he says he doesn't remember much about her other than she was a comrade of Dan Feng's. I feel like right now, the only ones propagating the Sedition was to revive Baiheng theory in game is Jingliu, and potentially Blade with the bracer relic story. If I'm missing some key info though, please correct me (if you want to).
I do know the timeline of how old Dan Heng is and how old Bailu is gets a bit messy. I have two possible solutions, but neither of them have any evidence behind them yet. The first is that there's another incarnation in between Bailu and Baiheng. Vidyadhara only live for about 600 years, and the sedition happened about 700 years ago, so this fits perfectly into the established timeline and I think makes the most sense. The other is that because he had some of his power stripped away, Dan Heng is currently aging faster. The phrase "Of Five, Three Must Pay a Price" is implied to be a prophecy that came about while the quintet was still at the top of their game. I don't remember which readable that was in tho. Dan Heng actually remembers quite a lot, but in more of a dream-state. It's in the Imbibitor Lunae character stories.

Jing Yuan does say though that the appearance of high elders have been the same "until the current generation," though maybe one generation isn't just one Vidyadhara lifetime. About the prophecy you mentioned, the only thing I could find was from "Investigation of Ancient Pattern Rubbings from the Luofu" from the Todd Riordan side quest. It says "There was even a dark prophecy hinting at depravity and betrayal among the five." I couldn't find anything relating the phrase and the quote and they are slightly different in content, but maybe they are related. About DHIL's character stories, the more I read his part III, the more I kinda start to see the revival theory. The quotes part had always been a tossup for me (did he mean let Baiheng live on literally or just a general sentiment indicating that the theoretical result of the experiment would let more people like her live on?), but reading the first part, especially "an unattainable desire that could not be carried out for long years in the past, a final straw that broke the gargantuan dragon's back" (this may also corroborate the preceptor conspiracy theory more too because maybe they told Dan Feng to do it before and he thought it was kind of a good idea but didn't do it because of morality and Baiheng dying was the "final straw") combined with the mirage echo of the previous head alchemist (I assume Dan Shu's predecessor who created the Bloomborn Scion that she talks about in "Undestroyed letters") saying that Dan Feng enlightened her by causing reproduction through another race (that race potentially being Foxian) makes me believe this theory a little more, but also makes me more confused, because: When Jingliu killed the Half-Draconic Abomination, her exacerbation of mara was caused by the nightmare that she was put in which basically made her relive Rahu eating the CangCheng. This nightmare dream thing is, as far as I know, is a signature move of Shuhu, since he also basically did the same thing to Xueyi and Hanya when the CangCheng was destroyed. So I wonder if the powers of Abundance had something to do with the Sedition, meaning that Dan Feng potentially messed with the actual Arbor itself (which may also be why Sanctus Medicus was experimenting with Arbor Branches during Dan Shu's predecessor's leadership since she was "enlightened" by Dan Feng). I have seen one other CC say that Bailu might be "half abundance, half Vidyadhara," and was created using Dan Feng's horns and scales that the Preceptors took from him ("Jingliu says this confiscation part at the beginning of her companion quest") and the arbor branches that one of the Vidyadhara eggs said he went to get for a preceptor. We also do know that Jingliu kills the abomination (the first mirage echo we meet in the Bailu/DHIL story quest says that Dan Feng's "allies" came together to "slay it"), so does that mean Dan Feng created two life forms? Or was the mirage echo just mistaken and the Abomination wasn't actually killed and then became Bailu? Also one last thing that I forgot to mention in my original comment, I think Jing Yuan might have actually showed up at the end of the sedition because there is that one frame in the Blade vs Jingliu cutscene with Jing Yuan attacking a going-crazy Jingliu with Lightning Lord on the other side of her. It looks vastly different from the environment in "A Flash" so I don't think it is from that fight who knows maybe it's just another representation of it.
For what Jing Yuan is saying, he's specifically talking about the High Elder Succession. The previous high elder is Dan Feng and the current high elder is Baiheng. She is the most recent generation of high elder, even though she's had at least one previous incarnation. Given how Dan Feng's words are echoed in Blade's speech at the end of 1.4 (which is EXPLICITLY about Baiheng), and given all the other evidence, I'm so incredibly convinced on this one. The person in the "Undestroyed Letter" isn't Dan Shu's predecessor. It's Dan Shu herself. The writer of the first letter (presumably a Preceptor) tells her to have a trusted person read the letter to her, because she can't do it herself. So I went back and found the Mirage dialogue and it does say the abomination died. The problem with that is we don't know who this person is that Dan Feng is talking to. It's someone familiar with him, yes, but we don't know how close. It's likely a preceptor, given how Dan Heng refers to him as "Elder" and a couple other references. BUT in my mind, it's likely that the Luofu government did a MASSIVE coverup of all this. It's referenced a few places here and there that more and more people no longer want to follow Lan, so if it became widely known that the Abundance could be used to help the Vidyadhara become not-extinct, that would make matters SO much worse (especially since the Vidyadhara are the ones with the most immediate access to the Arbor). They cannot let anyone, ESPECIALLY the Vidyadhara know about what really happened that day. And the only ones who really knew what happened were Dan Feng, Blade, and Jingliu. And again in this mirage you've referenced, the interaction ends with Dan Heng saying "I guess Dan Feng probably never told them the secret of the Transmutation Arcanum...". The preceptors knew SOMETHING happened that day, but they never found out exactly what. What I think happened is the beast was subdued by Jingliu (and we know she has the power to subdue enemies in a nonlethal manner cause we saw Yanqing subdue Hoolay with the same technique as her), and THEN the ten-lords commission transported the subdued beast to the shackling prison and put their seals on it, so it would no longer be dangerous and the end result was Bailu, MEANWHILE they circulated the stories of the beast having been killed by Dan Feng's allies who united to kill it (which we already know just isn't true. Yingxing was freakin incapacitated and Jing Yuan wasn't there). It's a heroic tale that catches the public's fancy, but doesn't actually hold up. And as for the lightning lord being there, if it was, it wasn't Jing Yuan wielding it. The lightning lord is only wielded by the general, and he didn't become general until after Dan Feng was already imprisoned. If the lightening lord was there, it was Teng Xiao wielding it.
It would be cool if you could go over some theories regarding the eventual ninth day of Penacony aka the day of rotational understanding and sin(theta). I presume that we will be getting a rememberance trailblazer and a nihility trailblazer in the 3.0-3.7 patches with the nihility trailblazer being unlocked during the ninth day of penacony trailblazer continuance missions. With heavy emphasis of Acheron and the nihility and how 2.7 is regarding reflections of the eighth day of penacony, this can only mean that the ninth day of penacony is approaching and would be the perfect time to introduce the nihility trailblazer and more nihility units. Honestly, I am most excited about this more than the amphoreus arc and the crossover with the fate characters because it will completely revolutionize both penacony and amphoreus (I think that the ninth day missions will take part in both penacony and amphoreus with the civilians of penacony evacuating the planet). Also, because the trailblazer is technically a shareholder and owner of penacony, it would be the perfect time to express the trailblazer’s nihility and meaningless as something that the trailblazer owned is no longer meaningful.

This is not a leak; but a hypothesis that I currently have. Rememberance trailblazer was presented in the drip marketing that hoyoverse unveiled a few days ago. Nihility trailblazer is merely a hypothesis; not a leak nor guaranteed to be within 3.0-3.X patch. However, I have noticed your keen analytical ability to decipher in game lore and make educated hypotheses and theories regarding the events that have and will transpire. Thus, because of the emphasis of the eighth day of penacony, the relevancy of Acheron and Nihility’s presence within the penacony dream, and the supposed Greek themes with Amphoreus, it is safe to assume that the common Greek symbol Theta will play an important role in 3.0-3.X. Theta most often refers to an angle measurement or evaluation that reflects the moment of radial proportionality that a number is currently in. Think of the sin, cos, and tan functions and how if theta=0, cos(0)=1. Euler’s formula connects the trigonometric functions with the exponential functions with the formula e^itheta= cos(theta) + isin(theta). i refers to the square root of negative 1 and is referred to as the imaginary number (unit). Another interpretation of the symbol theta refers to the number 9 and that is what theta means historically in the Greek language. With The Herta and the Genius Society and Nous involved with Amphoreus (based on the trailer), it is hypothesized that a phase “rotate one’s understanding” will be used connecting the imaginary unit and rotation with cognition (erudition) and theta (the symbol for rotation and nihility). Thus, my hypothesis based on available information infers that with recent trends in trailblazer missions and continuance missions, nihility and the relevance of theta will connect rotation, understanding, and meaning to penacony and amphoreus.

I'll be entirely honest here - I have seen nothing to make my brain go that direction. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we see a "ninth day" of Penacony simply because it's the next number in an established sequence, and if we do then it likely will be tied to nihility because "IX", but that's as far as I'll go with that. As for the Greek inspiration, we know that Amphoreus will be Greek, but we have no reason to believe yet that Amphoreus is tied to Penacony in any way except for an interesting eye motif. Interesting, the eye could easily be interpreted as a sideways theta, but I feel like that's a stretch. I don't actually believe that Nihility is present in the Dreamscape. What we saw was not something that just exists there, it was a projection of what Aventurine believes comes after death, and because that concept ties to Acheron, she was able to enter that dream as well. I'm not trying to discount your theory, because you may very well be right (you've obviously spent some time thinking about this. But in my experience, relying on mathematics to that degree when telling a story, doesn't lead to a very good story, and that is Hoyoverse's first priority. Theta may be involved, but more than likely it will simply be used as a symbol for death, not in any way a mathematical symbol. If I'm wrong, I'll take it back.
I'm wondering if we will get a hunt trailblazer. We might not. We've attracted the gaze of multiple aeons at this point, but we've only ever seen someone else attract the gaze of Lan and it was Feixiao.
This is probably the first time I knew where the theory was going but still was only half-right. I never heard anything about those theories about what Dan Feng did, I thought it was stupid obvious he was imprisoned because of creating new life - Bailu. But I never really connected the dots about her being Full Metal Alchemisted from Baiheng (even though this also feels obvious now - similar hair, same eyes, same first syllable-hieroglyph in the name). But even if that is considered a success in creating a new Vidyadhara, I feel like it's a hollow victory. One of the obvious downsides depicted in Bailu's quest is that she now shared the authority of the High Elder with Dan Heng, since they both had to usher the commands to renew the seal on the Ambrosial Arbor. So it might be a stretch, but I feel like this method of propagation is actually a case of subdivision. And if the Vidyadhara follow through with this we would see something akin to what happens to the vampires in VtM: as vampires are so thin of their bloodline they no longer fear the sun, the Vidyadhara will be so far from Permanence they will lose their immortality (and possibly their cool dragon powers which might arguably be worse).
Believe it or not, there is a whole camp of people who don't believe he made Bailu. I've talked with people who very firmly believe Dan Feng's kid is none other than Yanqing. There IS evidence for Yanqing being a Vidyadhara, but some people extrapolated that. There's no other evidence for it that I've seen (and I've read most of what there is to read at this point). I agree - there's even more evidence to what you've said when you look at Dan Heng and Bailu's ages. If we look at this on a timeline, he has to be younger than her, but he's aging faster.
@@iamemamae I never heard about Yangqing being a Vidyadhara either, I mean he doesn't even have them elf ears and not nearly enough hair to cover them But I did hear a solid theory that his parents were probably from Sanctus Medicus or related to Abundance some other way, which is why Jing Yuan took him and kept his parents' identities secret from everyone as this could backfire even at him. I knew that the raging beastial dragon when Bailu was created *was* Bailu, but now that the Transmutaion Arcana may be turning into an actual fucking dragon and not, idk actually, I thought it was part of the Molting Rebirth process, but itf it's becoming a dragon... That makes sense. More sense, I mean. Bailu likely was a dragon before she got sealed by that tail bangle... Bai Heng... What a name to take on.
The molting rebirth process is definitely not the Transmutation Arcanum, because more than one person (and not always high elders) have been sentenced to "exuviation"/Molting rebirth. If we actually break down the words "transmutation arcanum", the "Arcane" means hidden knowledge, but often refers to something ancient, and we already know about an ancient "Transmutation" magic that the Vidyadhara used to have. When you line it all up, it starts to fall into place.

It's an interesting the distinction the games makes. I forget that the Aeons aren't simply magical ball of god-like energy. Some of them are technically biological. Since Bailu was the product of The Permanence & Abundance's power (if I understood it correctly)- does that mean they share an overarching path that could merge together? Some food for thought.
Hey can someone fact check something for me, it’s been on my mind for some time and the facts just don’t add up 😅 Was Dan Heng ever a child? Or just a slightly younger Dan Feng? Bc if you think about it it makes no sense that Bailu was created at the same time Dan Feng went through forceful reincarnation so they should be the same age, but she’s so much younger than him??? Is she permanently a child? Did she recently went through a rebirth? Or was Dan Heng just reincarnated just slightly younger than Dan Feng was ( and maybe that’s how the Xianzhou knows it was not a normal reincarnation)?

I feel like leaving out the romance between Yinxing and Dan Feng definitely blurs some stuff for me and the fact that “the beloved” is baiheng according to this interpretation doesn’t make much sense since Dan Heng has almost no memory of her at all while he clearly cares for Yinxing and knows Jing Yuan the other two who weren’t as close he barely remembers even to the point that Jingliu is a familiar face Still loved the video and watch the video on blades and Dan Fengs relationship by Lady’s lore if you want proof of their relationships true meaning
Ok. So I knew this comment was coming. There IS evidence of a very close relationship between Dan Feng and Yingxing, but "the beloved" is NOT evidence for it. We know from other readables that the two of them were close friends when no one expected them to be (Dan being proud, Yingxing being arrogant, they should've butted heads but they didn't), and that they would often go stargazing together. We ALSO know from the "Passerby of wandering clouds" bracer lore that Blade's armguard was one of a matched set, and that the person who wore the other one wielded a spear. We know this person is Dan Feng because we SEE THE MATCHING BRACER ON HIS HAND. The two of them split the set and each wore one so they would always be connected. Blade then says that this person (Dan Feng) was the one who turned "the Beloved" - a THIRD person - into a monster. This is BLADE who says this, not Dan Feng. You can either have Dan Feng wearing the bracer, OR you can have Blade calling Dan Feng "beloved." Grammatically, you can't have both. Now, the reason Dan Heng is familiar with Blade when we know him isn't because he remembers him from a past life (at least not at first). There are lightcones and readables and various other places that say that Dan Heng has been actively on the run from him for a VERY long time. Blade has been trying to kill Dan Heng ever since he left the Xianzhou. The reason why Dan Heng knows Jing Yuan is because he spent the first few decade and change of his life in the shackling prison and Jing Yuan apparently brought him books during that time. He doesn't know Jing Yuan or Blade well, but he is familiar with them beyond his past life. Jingliu and Baiheng are another matter, which is why he struggles to remember them. It's not a matter of importance, it's a matter of familiarity post-rebirth. As I said above, I do think that Dan Feng and Yingxing were close, but I think it's more complicated than "they were a couple." As someone who went into this with NO expectations, just took the information at face value, it's possible that Dan Feng may have had feelings for Yingxing, but Yingxing was enraptured by Baiheng. This would also give Dan Feng another motive for the Seidition - he hated seeing Yingxing in grief over Baiheng. And it would give Yingxing even more motive to HATE Dan Feng after the fact - the woman he loved was mutilated by him. TL:DR - Dan Feng and Yingxing definitely cared for each other, but not every mention of them loving someone needs to refer to each other.
@@iamemamae Thats a fair point but from what I can recall (which isn’t totally reliable) Dan Heng changed A LOT after discovering that Yinxing and blade are the same person even saying something along the lines of I will go with you to the end Yeah the beloved might not be Yinxing even though I think that blade thinks of himself as a different person but what I am mainly getting into is that they aren’t just speculative it’s almost confirmed that they are supposed to be romantically involved because of MANY direct references to a specific genre of writing called danmei being a very clear and obvious inspiration for their story I’ll list some of the stereotypes of that genre that match with Renheng Friends/lovers to enemies to lovers Moonlight Black/red/purple White/green/blue Reincarnation/amnesia Political drama Pursuit Death and rebirth Demonic + godly (seen in their ultimates as one makes a hellscape and the other a heavenscape) Mortal + immortal Contrasting personalities Etc And if possible I would love to this this further and as always if anyone is interested in their relationship please watch Lady’s lore video

For the past while I’ve been on the “Bailu isn’t Baiheng” train, mainly cause Jingliu and Blade I feel aren’t reliable sources due to being marastruck, but the core of the story still feels right *emotionally* and I think thats something thats always been at the core of hoyoverses stories period. Its how we can have all this complex world lore but still have the ending that Hi3 part 1 did.
I agree that Blade and Jingliu's reliability is questionable, but the thing is, the Mara doesn't cause them to make up entirely new stories, it just distorts their memory of what happened, meaning details may be exaggerated or diminished, but the core events are the same. The two of them (+Dan Heng IL) agree on the key points - a monster was spawned (Jingliu/Blade agree) from Baiheng's remains (Blade/IL agree) when Dan Feng tried to revive her (Jingliu/IL agree).
I seriously love these stories. Hoyoverse did incredible with Dan Heng and then again with Aventurine. I can't wait to see Amphoreus
In one of Bailu’s interactions on the train she mentions that every time she visits the Express, her dreams that night are about flying. Vidyadhara high elders see glimpses of their past life through dreams and Baiheng was a pilot.

I live and breathe for all of the Xianzhou and Dan Heng angst that Hoyoverse decides to cook up. His story is so freaking cool and I love that it is being showcased so amazingly!
Dan Heng deserves all the best. They put a lot of work into his story. He's a wonderful character, and I'm so sad more people don't see that.
unfortunately i have to disagree. his lore is amazing don't get me wrong but 1.2 story did none of that justice at all, IL and Jingliu cmpanion missions tried to make up for it and they were nice but they didn't do it justice either.
fortunately enough 2.5 story with Lingsha and Taoran did do some of it justice and i am hopeful for the future but to say that the game treats his story excellently couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion considering that 1.2 story is probably the worst story Hoyo has written by far.
I will defend 1.2 until the day I die. Moments were muddy, but it was, above everything else, a prologue to a bigger story which we're now seeing.
@@iamemamae i mean if you like it then that's cool. i just personally think it was bad and even if the payoff is good that won't suddenly make the set up good, of course things can be elevated in hindsight but it can be elevated only so much, even if it was only a setup/prologue to a larger story, it doesn't mean that it can be excused of bad execution(again just my opinion obv), if u don't think that the execution was that bad then that's fine. then for you the Loufu story as a whole will be a story with muddy setup story and hopefully good payoff story(if they handle the payoff well) but for me it will be story with BAD setup story and hopefully good payoff story
some of the payoff we are already starting to see with 2.4 and 2.5 stories which were handled well and restored my faith in Xianzhou plotline
@@iamemamae The setups were cool. And it was a nice way for them to sprinkle hints and lore for the future. Also just the fight vs Phantylia, and having Jing Yuan + Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae was really freaking cool for the patch's major boss fight
I gotta give props to the editing and putting all the scenes/animations together to make the scene come alive even if we didnt get to see what happened in game

the way you narrated the story is top tier. i hardly cared about the HCQ story during the main XZ LF arc because hyvs did a pretty lacking work on showing us the true gravity of their bond, actions, motives and history, all in favor of subtle writing but at the cost of emotional impact, it also didn't help that the fandom only cares about shipping and the drama born from it constantly left a bad taste in my mouth. but this? dear god, i teared up a little. i hope one day- that "bottle of resentment" as blade called it, will be emptied and they (DH, blade, JY, JL and bailu too) will be friends and a family again.

Even Welt could give off Finality or Balance potential. Idk, it just seems like everyone on the crew has ties to something greater that we don't know anything about because we're what... On chapter 4?

Mhm, but with Dan Heng it has the added layer of the Nature of the Permanence actually being death and rebirth over and over again. Long died, and through their death there was a new beginning with the Vidyadhara and their other 2 children. But now the Vidyadhara are reaching their end WHICH MEANS ACCORDING TO THE PERMANENCE, there will be a new beginning. :)
But yeah, everyone on the crew has some tie to a different aeon and it's so fascinating!
And this folks, is why Dan Heng has been my absolute favorite character since the beginning...

When I first read about the 'beloved', my first thought was the fox girl but people kept insisting it was Dan Heng and Blades secret love relationship.. I am all for shipping but not when it is used to blindly distort the actual story. I would love to see you do full backstory for other characters too. Thank for the amazing video.
Yeah, I totally get that. If you're looking at the readables, the two of them were very close, and no one expected them to be that close (Dan Feng was very proud, Yingxing was very arrogant, everyone expected the two of them to butt heads, but they didn't and instead the two of them often went stargazing together, and they made a pair of armguards together, each of them wearing one). But there is NO REASON to believe that specific reference of "The Beloved" is referring to Dan Feng. It's very clearly Baiheng. IF there was any sort of relationship between the two of them, I'd say it may have been unrequited, with Dan Feng loving Yingxing and Yingxing loving Baiheng.
But yeah, I hate when shipping discourse takes over actual theorizing...it's so pointless...
First of all, I love the script for this video. I really fuck with more emotional takes on theories that still use evidence to back things up. Don't get me wrong, more clinical "here are the things we know and what we can extrapolate from it" are still good and very helpful resources for people like me who don't have the time to go read all the lore books. But I play games because they tell stories, and I think it's important to not get bogged down with jargon and the like to make enough room for the emotions the stories tell. It's why I love tuning in to your theories because even if I've seen contradicting evidence/interpretations elsewhere I still get to hear a well thought out and heartfelt reading of the horrors that happen in our favorite space train game. OH MY GOD thank you for making this video, I've always interpreted the story the exact same way as you've described, both of them (yingxing and dan feng) desperate to save a close friend. In jingliu's quest, in blade's monologue he says "why does someone like HER, have to buried and eventually forgotten?", so I've always thought that there was some sentment there, but i've never seen someone think the same way! It was the Transmutation Arcanium that was the piece I couldn't figure out.

I absolutely lost my mind when Dan Heng returned to the shackling prison. Like wtf is wrong with the xianzhou imprisoning a literal child for the entirety of their formative years. And then forcing him to go back for an interview that absolutely could have been held elsewhere!

I really hope they make it explicitly clear later in the main game instead of tiny scattered details that he can be healed by turning into a literal dragon, please, hoyo gods, let him do something awesome as a dragon at some point!!
Actually...the more i think about this specific part of this video the more im bothered by something - WHY was this the goal of Blade's role in this quest? Like, Dan Heng needing to be forced to trigger the draconic transformation makes sense if he didnt know he could do it before while a way to brute force it was known, but what purpose does it actually serve?
My best guess is that this transofrmation came with the knowledge of how to work the seal, since Dan Heng only has scattered memories of Dan Feng's and yet he's so knowledgable about how the deal and High Elder powers work that hes able to teach Bailu later. And i mean, if he could teach her before, there wouldn't have been need to nearly kill Dan Heng and potentially risk him refusing to help the crisis after being put through that - this is, after all, the result of the deal struck between Blade and Jing Yuan, the general does takes risks but only calculated ones, and unlike Blade he doesnt have the reassurance of Elio promising that Dan Heng, who Jing Yuan hasn't seen since he was exiled fresh out of a childhood of imprisonment, would be so willing to risk so much for the Loufu's sake, so it just makes more sense that this HAD to happen for the seal ro be unlocked at all, right?
But...if the Transmutation Arcanum is just about making the High Elders into dragons, why would that also put such specific information into his head? We see in his signature lightcone that Dan Heng looked lke this while imprisoned, its not like this is the first time he's been Imbibitor Lunae, its just the dragon transformation and healing from the mortal wound that were intrlduced to him here, yet knowledge comes with it for some reason? And whatever that reason is, its something that Jing Yuan felt he could rely on, its a known part of the whole "give a high elder a grave injury and theyll briefly be a dragon whether they consciously choose to be or not" schtick.
Am i crazy or is there something weird there, like there's more to the Arcanum than just transmuting species. I wonder if it's maybe something to do with Long? Like its the same dragon they turn into every time, across all reincarnations, so the task of protecting the Arbour got ingrained in the time since Yubie started it? I dunno, im just spitballing at this point 😅
Dan Heng needed to remember for a few reasons. One being so he could work the seal, yes. The other is that if he hadn't had his abilities in the battle against Phantylia, thins probably wouldn't have gone the way they did. But my best guess is that him having the power of Long is going to come into play in a MAJOR way later down the line with the story. Him remembering pieces of his past life as a result I don't think have to do with the Transmutation Arcanum (at least not directly). I think using the Transmutation again triggered some memories BECAUSE the Preceptors did their little witchy woo to make his memories stay, they just needed to be triggered. But those memories aren't a Package deal with the transmutation or anything.
OMG THANK YOU! Thank you for making it clear Baiheng was important to EVERYONE and not just Jingliu. So many people love to just gloss over that all of the quintet loved and adored her. Im pretty sure they do that for shipping reasons which is stupid but this was such a breath of fresh air😂
I have been waiting ever since 1.2 for Dan Heng to get justice for everything that was done to him. Thank you for bringing all this to light, I feel like not enough people know about it.
He will get justice. In fact he already has for the most part after 2.5. He's atoned for what he did and is now working to right his past wrongs, and more than that, he got to confront the preceptor who set him up. He's renewed his friendship with Jing Yuan, he has his own life now. He's on a good path. I hope it lasts for him.

This was so good. Keep this up! When it reached the part of Dan Heng's exile while playing the game, I had an epiphany that Jing Yuan probably orchestrated it. And he's really better off in the train. Dude wasn't given a chance for a proper rebirth, surrounded by people who will definitely take advantage of him. Good thing Jing Yuan is already a General when it happened. The Sleepy General grew on me on the Wardance when even as a young soldier, he really wanted to help Belebog, even issuing an invitation despite ot being a supposedly 'dead' planet.
Jing Yuan is a really good person. He keeps getting put in these difficult spots, but always ends up finding a way out of them with kindness and justice. He's so cool.
dan heng is my favorite character since release and this is literally the only lore i found out by myself before confirmed in all of hsr 😭

Can't believe that the Transmutation Arcanum is the piece that I was missing in the entire Xianzhou lore. And the whole "Bailu is/isn't Baiheng" theorizing all went nowhere, when the characters didn't ever clarify who Bailu was. I don't think the term Transmutation Arcanum was even said more than, like what 5 times(being generous) throughout all our time in the Luofu? And even then all a non-lore buff could ever glean from it was "Dan Feng did a really bad thing", while most accounts of his actions are extremely vague at best, and outright misrepresenting at worst.

Its been driving me nuts that we understand so little of the Sedition itself yet of what we do know its reinforced several times that the Preceptors hold at least some responsibility, arguably more considering they took advantage of someones grief and guilt and sense of responsibility to his race as having been raised as the High Elder his whole life, Taoran was the one making a clear minded decision to incite all of this regardless of the risks...and people just dont talk about it? Ive seen a few mentions of it in some twitter threads but even they were mostly dedicated to theorising other parts of this whole mess instead of wondering what the hell the Preceptors are willing to do to get what they want if they prompted that DISASTER and dont seem to have even slowed down by choice - people like Jing Yuan and i think maybe the other High Elders are keeping a closer eye on them now.
The Hoolay incident seems to be proof that theyre no longer content to stay under the radar though, so who knows what comes next...

What sold it to me is the fact that you actually fucking explained WHY they used Shuhu's body, like, seriously, so many people don't elaborate on it and it's refreshing to have it explained even if it's not canon, I also love the way you described it as a combination of the Abundance regeneration combined with the High Elder's regeneration, that's was brilliant!
Although, on the topic of the High Elder's regen, YOU CAN'T JUST DROP "The transmutation Arcanum is just the Fire Emblem dragon stones but with a regen factor" WHAT THE FUCK?! This may not be anything, but I remember in the Penacony Arc, when they all were trapped in their own respective dream until Black Swan started waking everyone up, Dan Heng said that his dream was to travel with the crew forever, but he knows deep down that the dream was unrealistic. I've always wondered why he would think this way (I just assumed it was because he's a long-life species and the rest of them aren't) but maybe there's something more? I don't think he's predicting the future or assuming he'll meet the same demise as his former self, but maybe its alluding to something else down the line?

Watching the ad, I heard you talk about Mochi. I helped make mochi once. A family I used to know would all get together in December, soak and cook rice, break out a very old mochi machine (I forget what it is actually called) and work in a line forming out the mochi balls, and packing them for each section of the family. They invited often invited friends and so I got to join a couple different times. It was fun, and I LOVE mochi, even just plain mochi, lightly toasted with a lil soy sauce. 😋

whats up with my favorite characters have the most confusing lore bro. Dan Heng's lore is still so vague even after almost 2 years and then my other fav character, Arlecchino from Genshin we know like nothing about her still 😭anywasy great video i eat up every Dan Heng lore video i can find.
I think that the enciting riot part comes after his arrest. There was a ghost during his quest that was talking about Dan Feng succeding in his experiment. Even though it was an abomination it was still new life that he created trought the transmutation arcanum and I imagine a lot of Vidyadhra finding this out would like to continue expermineting regardless of the risks.
Honestly, I think that part was more as a warning to the Preceptors. It was never Dan Feng's intention to truly "throw off" the rules of the Xianzhou. He just wanted to bring his friend back. But the Preceptors did want to throw off the rules, and Dan Feng, as their instrument for doing so, was the perfect person to make an example of.
I’m curious as to how the “Undestroyed Letter” readable fits into this theory. It describes some of the Preceptors’ and Disciples’ schemes and their control of Bailu, but also says “Back then, we unintentionally created the miracle of Bloomborn Scion, but there is a limit to mere luck”. The “we” pronoun is a little vague, it could refer to their organization as a whole and how they influenced Dan Feng to do what he did, but it could also imply something more recent happened, perhaps that more recently, they created Bailu from the remains of the abomination because of how they lacked someone powerful enough. Ofc we don’t really know how long it takes their eggs to hatch but given how people don’t seem too surprised about Bailu’s short height for her age, it would seem that she’s on the younger side
Something else to note is that the game claims that Dan Feng appointed Bailu as his successor, yet Dan Feng never spoke a single word during his Sedition, and would probably be pretty unlikely to appoint who he would have believed to be Baiheng as the leader beforehand, especially given that he didn’t know he was being framed. So either way, it seems that the Preceptors tried to claim a Puppet High Elder for themselves during these incidents
I just went back and read it. The people writing those letters aren't the preceptors - it's the disciples of Sanctus Medicus, OR it's possible that the first writer is a Preceptor. The person writing the second letter is more than likely Dan Shu herself (you can tell because at the end of the first letter, the writer tells her to find someone to read it for her, as well as describing her as a "she"). This would indicate that the Vidyadhara preceptors have been working with Sanctus Medicus for a very long time, which again would make sense given how desperate/power hungry they are. My best guess is the Preceptors allowed Bailu to be at least partially raised by Dan Shu (since she had an aptitude for abundance to begin with, being partially made using an emanator's flesh), and allowed her to be trained as a healer.
The Bloomborn Scion isn't Bailu - it's just another one of their experiments, but a destructive one. I'm pretty sure it's the Abundant Ebon deer (we literally see it emerge from a "blooming" flower). But either way, the "we" in that statement is being spoken by Dan Shu, meaning "we" is probably Sanctus Medicus, not the preceptors.
Dan Feng didn't appoint Baiheng as the next high elder verbally, but he did *partially* pass on his power to Bailu. THIS is what the game means when it says he "appointed" her. She doesn't have the transmutation arcanum, but she is considered the new high elder by the people of the Xianzhou we see in the readables. AND it's confirmed in gameplay when Dan Heng can no longer seal the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor himself, but he and Bailu can do it together since the power of Imbibitor Lunae is now split between the two of them.

I had read through the High Cloud Quintet’s character stories and pieced a lot of this together. I didn’t make the connection between Jingliu becoming Mara struck and Shuhu’s flesh. It could explain why her Mara manifests differently than most of the Mara struck we’ve seen.
Mhm, it's not super hidden, you just have to understand how a few things fit together to understand the full story.
And yeah! Jingliu became Mara struck a lot earlier than others. That whole thing with the silken threads slicing through her consciousness? That's mara apparently.

The thing at the beginning is specifically talking about all the things I heard people say when asking them what they understood about Dan Feng' s story. Like I actually had a conversation that went along the lines of "did you know dan feng got exiled because he made someone immortal?" "NO HE DIDN'T, HE MADE A MONSTER." That kind of stuff. Whenever I had these conversations with people, so many of them hadn't done enough research to understand that multiple different sources were true simultaneously.
As for "taking away immortality" and "giving immortality", of those two, Dan Feng only gave someone immortality, he didn't take it away. The lightning beast destroying a bunch of Vidyadharan eggs and killing the Vidyadhara inside actually falls under a different unforgivable sin - "Phratry Murder." It's " violently taking the lives of fellow Xianzhou peoples." Of the ten unforgivable sins, he did SIX of them, but the two in the verdict are ones he did not do. My best guess is the Xianzhou didn't want anyone to know that he'd succeeded in his experiment. If they'd charged him with "involuntary immortalization," some would have started to guess.

And second...holy shit I didn't realize the parallels of the Astral Express to the HCQ. Admittedly your video got quite a few tears out of me.
Believe me, you're not the only one. The shipping of the two of them really got out of hand. There is some evidence for it (Dan Feng was proud, Xingxing was arrogant but they never butted heads. They often went stargazing together, they shared a pair of bracers so they'd "always be connected") but the "Beloved" bit isn't one of them.
I thought all of this was confirmed on the epilogue of the Xianzhou where both Bailu and Dang Heng use their powers to seal the ambrosial arbor and the reason why Dang Heng stays behind in the Xianshou is to teach Bailu cloudhymn magic (the spells of the vinyadara).
Also mad props for Ying Yuan deserving his title of “Divine Foresight” by catching on to the preceptor’s scheme

If i remember right, Yubie was actually the 90th or 93rd Imbibitor Lunae. Somewhere around there, it's on the wiki.
And I really doubt there was only 3 generations of Imbibitor Lunae, especially how long Vidyadhara live as well as how long back the contract in a sense between the Vidyadhara and the Xianzhou was.
So, I don't think Yubie is the VERY first Imbibitor Lunae, but i definitely think he is one of the more famous High Elders on the Luofu.
Ps, when Yubie imprisoned the Ambrosial Arbor in the Vidyadhara ocean thing, i forgot the exact details, but I'm sure that how the Preceptors reacted. It would make mrle sense that Yubie wasn't the first, but rather around 90th or 93rd, again, I'm not fully sure, i didn't see the wiki as I'm writing this.

Wiki’s wrong on this one. Yubie is the 91st reincarnation, but those first 90 reincarnation cycles were not spent on the Xianzhou. It was only AFTER coming to the Xianzhou that he took the title “Imbibitor Lunae.” The 91st incarnation of that person IS his first incarnation as Imbibitor Lunae. And yes, I agree there are MANY more incarnations of him, in between Yubie and Dan Feng (I even made note of that at the end of section 1) but Yubie, Dan Feng and Dan Heng are the only ones we have names for.

So many people are confused on the dragon and rebellion accounts. The dragon feels completely disconnected from the attempted resurrection when you're reading it UNLESS you understand the importance of the Transmutation Arcanum and care enough to sus out the mechanics (based on how we see it used) for yourself, and they didn't care to explain it well enough for people to really catch on.

I've heard the Preceptors told Dan Heng to do the Sedition theory once from a really small channel, and I fully agree with this thought. I'm still skeptical on Bailu and Baiheng's connection though because we still don't actually know when Bailu was born, combined with the conflicting Bloomborn scion in the readables that has very similar personalities and circumstances as Bailu. I saw another comment talk about the unreliable narrator situation and your response but I'm just gonna put my thoughts on that with this comment. Technically, only Blade, Dan Feng, and the preceptors know what really happened. Jingliu only arrived after the preceptors called the cloud knights, so she can only speculate (she was also very close to Baiheng which could add more biases). Blade on the other hand is completely mara striken combined with being killed hundreds of times by Jingliu, meaning, as Kafka says, "He doesn't remember much..." Blade barely remembered his name (passerby headpiece), which makes me doubt he remembers any detail of the sedition save for what Jingliu (who is basically speculating) has told him.
Anyway I love Xianzhou lore so it's good to see other people's POV on it even if it slightly disagrees with mine before Hoyo finally reveals the whole story.
I'm like 98% sure the Bloomborn Scion is the Ebon deer (we literally see it step out of a blooming flower). I've gone over the readable you mention ("Undestroyed letter"). The first seems to be written by the Preceptors (Gouchen is probably a fake name) given what they mention in the letter ("lineage broken" and the succession of the high elders are both things they express an interest in in other readables). The second letter is likely written by Dan Shu, given what they say about her needing someone to read the letter to her. So this suggests a conspiracy between the Preceptors and Sanctus Medicus. That being said, the Bloomborn Scion is mentioned in the second letter as something created by Dan Shu and Sanctus Medicus. If Bailu were the Bloomborn Scion, it would make DAN SHU responsible for the continuation of the Vidyadharan species. But the rediscovery of the ability to reproduce has only ever been attributed to Dan Feng. Meaning that the Bloomborn Scion can't be Bailu. It wouldn't surprise me if some of this "secret knowledge" for how to use the Transmutation Arcanum and the flesh of Shuhu came from Dan Shu, but she wasn't responsible for creating Bailu.
As for Blade being an unreliable narrator, I do agree to a point but the thing is, we do see moments where he remembers, and the idea of him having learned what he knows from Jingliu falls apart when you see he has details she doesn't mention, which align with Dan Feng's account. Plus, on a timeline, we don't really have any time she could've spoken to him about the events of that day. His stories are going to be patchy (which we see - he doesn't remember peoples names, he has weird gaps in his accounts), But the details he DOES remember I'm inclined to trust. I can't think of any reason for him to lie.
@ oooh interesting, I never thought about the Ebon Deer's relation to this. I was going through some if the primary sources around all the sanctus medicus stuff and to be honest, the Bloomborn Scion being Bailu thing is kind of based on connections that can be a bit of a reach. But still regarding Bailu being a reincarnation of Baiheng, the letter does say that Bailu is young. Dan Shu only converted to a disciple of Sanctus Medicus in the last ~30 years, so the letter had to be written within that time, meaning Bailu probably is probably not much more than 100 years old (idk what Vidyadhara count as "young" but I would assume ~1/7 of expected life span is good enough). In the Appeal from the Vidyahara that you show when talking about how the preceptors wanted Dan Feng back because they realized the Transmutation Arcanum wasn't passed to a theoretical Bailu, the ending quotations tell us that this is Jing Yuan's first problem as a general, and we know that when we meet him, he has had been general for centuries. (This is another can of worms tbh because he's supposedly the "longest serving general of the Xianzhou Luofu," yet Teng Xiao was alive, and I assume a general since he is the one that defeats Shuhu with Lightning Lord on the Cangcheng, in year 6300 of the Star Calendar which is a whole thousand years before the Shuhu upheaval period which he was still general in, and that was 700-800 years ago so ???). But anyway, I feel like Bailu would have to have been born after the appeal letter to count as being "young" which then like when is Bailu born?
Onto Blade. The only time he and Jingliu would have been able to interact with is during the "training" where Jingliu killed him a whole lot. The phrase "Of five, three must pay the price" was originally from Jingliu, and Blade mentions in one of his voice lines that those words were "carved into my every wound." There is no other confirmation that Jingliu told any more about the sedition but I think it is possible, idk. I agree that he has no reason to lie, but my concern is he doesn't even know he's lying.
Another thing about Dan Feng (or Heng), if the preceptors are the ones behind this, which is pretty darn likely as you've discussed, it's likely that Dan Heng only learns about the sedition from a perspective that the preceptors want him to (so he doesn't spoil their plan or whatever). What Dan Feng "remembers" through the mirage echoes doesn't mention any details, other than Blade isn't supposed to be there, unless I'm missing something. As far as I can recall, I don't think Dan Heng was even aware of Baiheng as a companion of Dan Feng prior to the Jingliu/Dan Heng companion quest where he says he doesn't remember much about her other than she was a comrade of Dan Feng's. I feel like right now, the only ones propagating the Sedition was to revive Baiheng theory in game is Jingliu, and potentially Blade with the bracer relic story. If I'm missing some key info though, please correct me (if you want to).
I do know the timeline of how old Dan Heng is and how old Bailu is gets a bit messy. I have two possible solutions, but neither of them have any evidence behind them yet. The first is that there's another incarnation in between Bailu and Baiheng. Vidyadhara only live for about 600 years, and the sedition happened about 700 years ago, so this fits perfectly into the established timeline and I think makes the most sense. The other is that because he had some of his power stripped away, Dan Heng is currently aging faster.
The phrase "Of Five, Three Must Pay a Price" is implied to be a prophecy that came about while the quintet was still at the top of their game. I don't remember which readable that was in tho.
Dan Heng actually remembers quite a lot, but in more of a dream-state. It's in the Imbibitor Lunae character stories.

Interesting theories on the timeline. Jing Yuan does say though that the appearance of high elders have been the same "until the current generation," though maybe one generation isn't just one Vidyadhara lifetime.
About the prophecy you mentioned, the only thing I could find was from "Investigation of Ancient Pattern Rubbings from the Luofu" from the Todd Riordan side quest. It says "There was even a dark prophecy hinting at depravity and betrayal among the five." I couldn't find anything relating the phrase and the quote and they are slightly different in content, but maybe they are related.
About DHIL's character stories, the more I read his part III, the more I kinda start to see the revival theory. The quotes part had always been a tossup for me (did he mean let Baiheng live on literally or just a general sentiment indicating that the theoretical result of the experiment would let more people like her live on?), but reading the first part, especially "an unattainable desire that could not be carried out for long years in the past, a final straw that broke the gargantuan dragon's back" (this may also corroborate the preceptor conspiracy theory more too because maybe they told Dan Feng to do it before and he thought it was kind of a good idea but didn't do it because of morality and Baiheng dying was the "final straw") combined with the mirage echo of the previous head alchemist (I assume Dan Shu's predecessor who created the Bloomborn Scion that she talks about in "Undestroyed letters") saying that Dan Feng enlightened her by causing reproduction through another race (that race potentially being Foxian) makes me believe this theory a little more, but also makes me more confused, because:
When Jingliu killed the Half-Draconic Abomination, her exacerbation of mara was caused by the nightmare that she was put in which basically made her relive Rahu eating the CangCheng. This nightmare dream thing is, as far as I know, is a signature move of Shuhu, since he also basically did the same thing to Xueyi and Hanya when the CangCheng was destroyed. So I wonder if the powers of Abundance had something to do with the Sedition, meaning that Dan Feng potentially messed with the actual Arbor itself (which may also be why Sanctus Medicus was experimenting with Arbor Branches during Dan Shu's predecessor's leadership since she was "enlightened" by Dan Feng). I have seen one other CC say that Bailu might be "half abundance, half Vidyadhara," and was created using Dan Feng's horns and scales that the Preceptors took from him ("Jingliu says this confiscation part at the beginning of her companion quest") and the arbor branches that one of the Vidyadhara eggs said he went to get for a preceptor.
We also do know that Jingliu kills the abomination (the first mirage echo we meet in the Bailu/DHIL story quest says that Dan Feng's "allies" came together to "slay it"), so does that mean Dan Feng created two life forms? Or was the mirage echo just mistaken and the Abomination wasn't actually killed and then became Bailu?
Also one last thing that I forgot to mention in my original comment, I think Jing Yuan might have actually showed up at the end of the sedition because there is that one frame in the Blade vs Jingliu cutscene with Jing Yuan attacking a going-crazy Jingliu with Lightning Lord on the other side of her. It looks vastly different from the environment in "A Flash" so I don't think it is from that fight who knows maybe it's just another representation of it.
For what Jing Yuan is saying, he's specifically talking about the High Elder Succession. The previous high elder is Dan Feng and the current high elder is Baiheng. She is the most recent generation of high elder, even though she's had at least one previous incarnation.
Given how Dan Feng's words are echoed in Blade's speech at the end of 1.4 (which is EXPLICITLY about Baiheng), and given all the other evidence, I'm so incredibly convinced on this one.
The person in the "Undestroyed Letter" isn't Dan Shu's predecessor. It's Dan Shu herself. The writer of the first letter (presumably a Preceptor) tells her to have a trusted person read the letter to her, because she can't do it herself.
So I went back and found the Mirage dialogue and it does say the abomination died. The problem with that is we don't know who this person is that Dan Feng is talking to. It's someone familiar with him, yes, but we don't know how close. It's likely a preceptor, given how Dan Heng refers to him as "Elder" and a couple other references. BUT in my mind, it's likely that the Luofu government did a MASSIVE coverup of all this. It's referenced a few places here and there that more and more people no longer want to follow Lan, so if it became widely known that the Abundance could be used to help the Vidyadhara become not-extinct, that would make matters SO much worse (especially since the Vidyadhara are the ones with the most immediate access to the Arbor). They cannot let anyone, ESPECIALLY the Vidyadhara know about what really happened that day. And the only ones who really knew what happened were Dan Feng, Blade, and Jingliu. And again in this mirage you've referenced, the interaction ends with Dan Heng saying "I guess Dan Feng probably never told them the secret of the Transmutation Arcanum...". The preceptors knew SOMETHING happened that day, but they never found out exactly what. What I think happened is the beast was subdued by Jingliu (and we know she has the power to subdue enemies in a nonlethal manner cause we saw Yanqing subdue Hoolay with the same technique as her), and THEN the ten-lords commission transported the subdued beast to the shackling prison and put their seals on it, so it would no longer be dangerous and the end result was Bailu, MEANWHILE they circulated the stories of the beast having been killed by Dan Feng's allies who united to kill it (which we already know just isn't true. Yingxing was freakin incapacitated and Jing Yuan wasn't there). It's a heroic tale that catches the public's fancy, but doesn't actually hold up.
And as for the lightning lord being there, if it was, it wasn't Jing Yuan wielding it. The lightning lord is only wielded by the general, and he didn't become general until after Dan Feng was already imprisoned. If the lightening lord was there, it was Teng Xiao wielding it.
It would be cool if you could go over some theories regarding the eventual ninth day of Penacony aka the day of rotational understanding and sin(theta). I presume that we will be getting a rememberance trailblazer and a nihility trailblazer in the 3.0-3.7 patches with the nihility trailblazer being unlocked during the ninth day of penacony trailblazer continuance missions. With heavy emphasis of Acheron and the nihility and how 2.7 is regarding reflections of the eighth day of penacony, this can only mean that the ninth day of penacony is approaching and would be the perfect time to introduce the nihility trailblazer and more nihility units. Honestly, I am most excited about this more than the amphoreus arc and the crossover with the fate characters because it will completely revolutionize both penacony and amphoreus (I think that the ninth day missions will take part in both penacony and amphoreus with the civilians of penacony evacuating the planet).
Also, because the trailblazer is technically a shareholder and owner of penacony, it would be the perfect time to express the trailblazer’s nihility and meaningless as something that the trailblazer owned is no longer meaningful.
I don't know anything about this ninth day. Is this leak-related? Cause if it is I can't comment at all. I will NEVER take leaks into consideration in my videos.
This is not a leak; but a hypothesis that I currently have. Rememberance trailblazer was presented in the drip marketing that hoyoverse unveiled a few days ago. Nihility trailblazer is merely a hypothesis; not a leak nor guaranteed to be within 3.0-3.X patch. However, I have noticed your keen analytical ability to decipher in game lore and make educated hypotheses and theories regarding the events that have and will transpire. Thus, because of the emphasis of the eighth day of penacony, the relevancy of Acheron and Nihility’s presence within the penacony dream, and the supposed Greek themes with Amphoreus, it is safe to assume that the common Greek symbol Theta will play an important role in 3.0-3.X.
Theta most often refers to an angle measurement or evaluation that reflects the moment of radial proportionality that a number is currently in. Think of the sin, cos, and tan functions and how if theta=0, cos(0)=1. Euler’s formula connects the trigonometric functions with the exponential functions with the formula e^itheta= cos(theta) + isin(theta). i refers to the square root of negative 1 and is referred to as the imaginary number (unit).
Another interpretation of the symbol theta refers to the number 9 and that is what theta means historically in the Greek language. With The Herta and the Genius Society and Nous involved with Amphoreus (based on the trailer), it is hypothesized that a phase “rotate one’s understanding” will be used connecting the imaginary unit and rotation with cognition (erudition) and theta (the symbol for rotation and nihility).
Thus, my hypothesis based on available information infers that with recent trends in trailblazer missions and continuance missions, nihility and the relevance of theta will connect rotation, understanding, and meaning to penacony and amphoreus.

I'll be entirely honest here - I have seen nothing to make my brain go that direction. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we see a "ninth day" of Penacony simply because it's the next number in an established sequence, and if we do then it likely will be tied to nihility because "IX", but that's as far as I'll go with that.
As for the Greek inspiration, we know that Amphoreus will be Greek, but we have no reason to believe yet that Amphoreus is tied to Penacony in any way except for an interesting eye motif. Interesting, the eye could easily be interpreted as a sideways theta, but I feel like that's a stretch.
I don't actually believe that Nihility is present in the Dreamscape. What we saw was not something that just exists there, it was a projection of what Aventurine believes comes after death, and because that concept ties to Acheron, she was able to enter that dream as well.
I'm not trying to discount your theory, because you may very well be right (you've obviously spent some time thinking about this. But in my experience, relying on mathematics to that degree when telling a story, doesn't lead to a very good story, and that is Hoyoverse's first priority. Theta may be involved, but more than likely it will simply be used as a symbol for death, not in any way a mathematical symbol. If I'm wrong, I'll take it back.

But I never really connected the dots about her being Full Metal Alchemisted from Baiheng (even though this also feels obvious now - similar hair, same eyes, same first syllable-hieroglyph in the name). But even if that is considered a success in creating a new Vidyadhara, I feel like it's a hollow victory.
One of the obvious downsides depicted in Bailu's quest is that she now shared the authority of the High Elder with Dan Heng, since they both had to usher the commands to renew the seal on the Ambrosial Arbor.
So it might be a stretch, but I feel like this method of propagation is actually a case of subdivision. And if the Vidyadhara follow through with this we would see something akin to what happens to the vampires in VtM: as vampires are so thin of their bloodline they no longer fear the sun, the Vidyadhara will be so far from Permanence they will lose their immortality (and possibly their cool dragon powers which might arguably be worse).
Believe it or not, there is a whole camp of people who don't believe he made Bailu. I've talked with people who very firmly believe Dan Feng's kid is none other than Yanqing. There IS evidence for Yanqing being a Vidyadhara, but some people extrapolated that. There's no other evidence for it that I've seen (and I've read most of what there is to read at this point).
I agree - there's even more evidence to what you've said when you look at Dan Heng and Bailu's ages. If we look at this on a timeline, he has to be younger than her, but he's aging faster.

But I did hear a solid theory that his parents were probably from Sanctus Medicus or related to Abundance some other way, which is why Jing Yuan took him and kept his parents' identities secret from everyone as this could backfire even at him.

I knew that the raging beastial dragon when Bailu was created *was* Bailu, but now that the Transmutaion Arcana may be turning into an actual fucking dragon and not, idk actually, I thought it was part of the Molting Rebirth process, but itf it's becoming a dragon... That makes sense. More sense, I mean. Bailu likely was a dragon before she got sealed by that tail bangle... Bai Heng... What a name to take on.

The molting rebirth process is definitely not the Transmutation Arcanum, because more than one person (and not always high elders) have been sentenced to "exuviation"/Molting rebirth.
If we actually break down the words "transmutation arcanum", the "Arcane" means hidden knowledge, but often refers to something ancient, and we already know about an ancient "Transmutation" magic that the Vidyadhara used to have. When you line it all up, it starts to fall into place.

Was Dan Heng ever a child? Or just a slightly younger Dan Feng? Bc if you think about it it makes no sense that Bailu was created at the same time Dan Feng went through forceful reincarnation so they should be the same age, but she’s so much younger than him???
Is she permanently a child? Did she recently went through a rebirth? Or was Dan Heng just reincarnated just slightly younger than Dan Feng was ( and maybe that’s how the Xianzhou knows it was not a normal reincarnation)?
I have a couple thoughts on this. The first is that there's another incarnation of Bailu between her and Baiheng. The other is, because Dan Heng lost a lot of power, he's aging faster than her even though he's younger. Either one could work, but either way I do agree the timeline is a bit messy and we're still missing some information.

I feel like leaving out the romance between Yinxing and Dan Feng definitely blurs some stuff for me and the fact that “the beloved” is baiheng according to this interpretation doesn’t make much sense since Dan Heng has almost no memory of her at all while he clearly cares for Yinxing and knows Jing Yuan the other two who weren’t as close he barely remembers even to the point that Jingliu is a familiar face

Ok. So I knew this comment was coming. There IS evidence of a very close relationship between Dan Feng and Yingxing, but "the beloved" is NOT evidence for it.
We know from other readables that the two of them were close friends when no one expected them to be (Dan being proud, Yingxing being arrogant, they should've butted heads but they didn't), and that they would often go stargazing together. We ALSO know from the "Passerby of wandering clouds" bracer lore that Blade's armguard was one of a matched set, and that the person who wore the other one wielded a spear. We know this person is Dan Feng because we SEE THE MATCHING BRACER ON HIS HAND. The two of them split the set and each wore one so they would always be connected. Blade then says that this person (Dan Feng) was the one who turned "the Beloved" - a THIRD person - into a monster. This is BLADE who says this, not Dan Feng. You can either have Dan Feng wearing the bracer, OR you can have Blade calling Dan Feng "beloved." Grammatically, you can't have both.
Now, the reason Dan Heng is familiar with Blade when we know him isn't because he remembers him from a past life (at least not at first). There are lightcones and readables and various other places that say that Dan Heng has been actively on the run from him for a VERY long time. Blade has been trying to kill Dan Heng ever since he left the Xianzhou. The reason why Dan Heng knows Jing Yuan is because he spent the first few decade and change of his life in the shackling prison and Jing Yuan apparently brought him books during that time. He doesn't know Jing Yuan or Blade well, but he is familiar with them beyond his past life. Jingliu and Baiheng are another matter, which is why he struggles to remember them. It's not a matter of importance, it's a matter of familiarity post-rebirth.
As I said above, I do think that Dan Feng and Yingxing were close, but I think it's more complicated than "they were a couple." As someone who went into this with NO expectations, just took the information at face value, it's possible that Dan Feng may have had feelings for Yingxing, but Yingxing was enraptured by Baiheng. This would also give Dan Feng another motive for the Seidition - he hated seeing Yingxing in grief over Baiheng. And it would give Yingxing even more motive to HATE Dan Feng after the fact - the woman he loved was mutilated by him.
TL:DR - Dan Feng and Yingxing definitely cared for each other, but not every mention of them loving someone needs to refer to each other.
@@iamemamae Thats a fair point but from what I can recall (which isn’t totally reliable) Dan Heng changed A LOT after discovering that Yinxing and blade are the same person even saying something along the lines of I will go with you to the end
Yeah the beloved might not be Yinxing even though I think that blade thinks of himself as a different person but what I am mainly getting into is that they aren’t just speculative it’s almost confirmed that they are supposed to be romantically involved because of MANY direct references to a specific genre of writing called danmei being a very clear and obvious inspiration for their story I’ll list some of the stereotypes of that genre that match with Renheng

White/green/blue
Reincarnation/amnesia

Pursuit
Death and rebirth
Demonic + godly (seen in their ultimates as one makes a hellscape and the other a heavenscape)
