My thoughts on Mythus. We know Mythus is born from the Remembrance Fuli, who is responsible for recording all that happened as the blue print of the new world post-Finality, so the new cycle may be as similar as what had once been. We know that Nous extrapolates via what is known, the past, the history that helps THEM trace everything that has happened and therefore the factors for everything that will happen. Mythus’ sole goal seems to be removing this knowledge from Nous/Fuli so the future is no longer “glimpsed”, like Schrödinger’s cat, I believe that the future in HSR is only set in stone once it is observed, aka extrapolated by Nous. This is interesting because of the opposition between Mythus and Nous/Fuli, they seem to share the same goal of wanting the future to be a certain way. Fuli wants the universe to cycle permanently in the same way over and over again. Nous wants the future to be known so that the Finality may arrive not a second sooner than it should. While Mythus wants the future to be unknowable, so that the Finality’s arrival could be the “Schrödinger’s Cat” per se, if you don’t know when it arrives, maybe it never will! Maybe all the talk about variables and constants and free will is merely different ways to view destiny, or in this case the inevitable end of all things, you could be content that the end is not merely the end as it will all repeat once again, you could be content that despite everything ending eventually at least you would know exactly when, or you could not care at all about the end and live life without the burden of knowing the end is inevitable. Anyways since Amphoreus is coming, there’s been theories that these 3 paths are gonna be the main players, and the unknowable domain may carry themes central to the 3.0 story, similar to how previous Sim U DLCs have been.
We really don't know the real truth of Mythus's origin since aside from being originated from the Remembrance a lot of people suggest is that its origin begun with the Erudition since it was mentioned Mythus was a former Genius that went against Nous's calculation of the predetermined future, who knows what the real truth is and that's the funniest part LMAO

Genuinely thank you for these videos! Between a lack of time to properly delve in the lore of the SU updates as I already don't take the time to complete all their objectives, and how cryptic they can get when you try, your videos are are an absolute lifesaver Especially with how absurdly story relevant the SU lore becomes in the main story!
Im very thankful for lore vids like this, I've been wanting to read HSR lores but i dont have time to go through all that shit. To have a digestable 1 hour vid of the lore is very nice. Again, thanks
Such an extensive and interesting lore confined into some skippable lines of text inside of the SU, as always, you're doing a great service to the community.
Actually, thinking about it (and keeping The Last Question in mind) , could it be that Nous and Terminus are cooperating in some way? Finality is unavoidable but Terminus is still trying to prevent a premature end by sending omens to THEIR followers, buying the universe more time. THEY seem to be assisting both the Stellaron Hunters and Qixing in this. Why are THEY trying to buy time? Isn't it so that Nous can gather enough data about to solve the last question of how to overcome entropy? Could that be why Polka, despite officially being a servant of the Erudition, is assisting the Finality? Are the Moments calculated by Nous necessary in order for Nous to arrive at the answer, causing THEM to send Polka to eliminate anomalies? If the Aeons pull it off, Nous would then be able to answer the Last Question and be ready to create the universe anew once Terminus arrives and ends it all. Elegy says: "Finality isn't the end of everything. All things will originate from there and move on to the next Finality."
I'm not sure Terminus really has an active agenda to cooperate with other aeons because they spend their entire time sleeping and the omens are their sleeptalking. I think it's more likely every omen vanguard is reacting to them with their own independant agendas. It's really confusing because of the conflicting agendas of all the Geniuses and the interactions between the circle of knowledge and the impending Finality...
At the end of the Herta SU, there's a speech from Herta telling us that the Geniuses are Nous' butterflies, testing the chaotic vs predictability of the universe. In Gold and Gears, Nous worked with Polka, who worked with Dongfang, who is a prophet of Finality. So sometimes, Nous does work with Finality, but sometimes Nous doesn't, as with the case of the creations of the butterflies. I'm reasonably sure Nous is conducting an experiment to test the margin of error of the future prediction. On ond hand, you have 1 group of factors, the butterfly geniuses, to increase Entropy. On the other hand, you have Polka, one of the butterflies, but also someone who kills the butterfly to reduce Entropy. Both are backed by Nous. It reads to me that it's an experiment set-up to test just exactly how much the future can be changed in each moment, so the margin of error of the future
thank you for making this, i find it a lot easier when i can see and hear things happening instead of just solely reading it. also appreciate the links
What's interesting at Mythus is its design seems to call to mind a jellyfish. As we know, a jellyfish is incapable of swimming on its own and can only drift along sea currents and waves. If Nous is trying to calculate all moments into standing wave points, it would be impossible for a jellyfish to continue drifting on the waves. Therefore, Mythus's purpose is to maintain the existence of the "unpredictable future" where the waves are still unclear and not locked to a standing point. Whether Mythus does this intentionally or just to preserve its own existence is unknown, and I think that's a sufficient answer for the Enigmata after all ;o
Thanks so much for the short story recommendation it’s actually super interesting! Haven’t seen the full video yet but this already has me so fascinated!
"Armed Archeologists" will never not make me think of Tomb Raider 😅 Thank you for the consistent, amazing videos. You are *literally* the only reason I have a clue what is going on in any of the SU modes 🙏🏼
I think nous already found out that the future is predetermined, so what nous would do is creating problems to stop humanity advances same as what happened in honkai3rd with the honkai beast and what polka do is stopping humans to reach that scale when nous have to act
Kudos for the amazing video and good recapping. I know it must have taken a long time. I really liked the lore of this SIm Universe- I am really looking forward to the next few videos with Amphoreus. and I am expecting Mythus to play some part. Great video to do some work to I enjoyed it a lot thank you !!!
I can’t believe I didn’t realize it before but this breakdown made me realize how much the T500 is just a super juiced up Elysian Realm, I wonder if it’ll be relevant with the Flamechasers coming up or if I’m just making a false positive cause half awake lol
4:12 Speaking of Asimov, this is probably a reference to the Foundation series! Coincidentally, I've been reading Foundation for the first time this month. I don't know how far I'll get into it, but it makes me wonder whether it's a one-time reference, or they wove more into the story. Personally, I find Foundation extremely boring, but it also plays on the idea of predicting the future, and how to ensure humanity's prosperity based on foreseen calamities. It's also a Fall of Rome thing, and probably would be marginally more enjoyable if I was a Roman history buff. It makes me wonder how much classic, oldhead sci-fi stuff is going referenced or incorporated that I never noticed, because I haven't been catching up on them. Very fun little bits to notice :)
@ No problem, yay! I wrote this comment before finishing the entire recap, and I definitely think it influenced some beats of the Unknown Domain story, so it really is an incredible coincidence that I happened to be reading it. The parallels I see, other than the explicit nod with the faction naming, are the ties to the Fall of Rubert. In the plot of Foundation (in like, chapter 0, so not really spoiling much...) a group of scientists, the psychohistorians, predict the Fall of the Galactic Empire through maths (there's a VERY unintentially funny scene involving a pocket calculator), and their leader sets a plan in motion to lessen the fallout of the Empire's destruction by preserving and spreading knowledge through the surrounding "barbaric kingdoms" (the stories are from the 1940s and 50s. so.) If we go by the theory you pose in this video, that "genius" status is something to be bestowed upon a person by a venerated entity, Nous, I think there's a case for a connection between The Foundation (the entity from the books, as a disseminator of knowledge), but obviously, HSR's story is entirely it's own, so I think of any of these potential connections as nods to classics, for people who read them.
havent watched the video yet but the last question is an amazing story, thank you for suggesting we read it! edit: wow the writers absolutely read up on the last question lmao, that was great slowly figuring out both the scepters and nous THEMselves are both like the AC
Entropy can be described in many ways, most intuitively the number of microstates a macrostate possesses, which directly corresponds to how likely it is to occur. Imagine throwing 2 dices. The macrostate 7 occurs most frequently due to having the most possible combinations (microstates). However, what constitutes the microstates and macrostates is subject to definition. Let's return to our 2 dices example, but this time we count the total number of scratches on the sides facing up instead, and we'll have a totally different configuration. Speculation: That is to say, when the heat death of the universe comes (maximum entropy), simply redefine the micro- and macrostates, and the universe continues chugging on, in ways totally unimaginable to current physics.
I find crazy how a lot of "geniuses" are trying to help the universe. When in actuality, they're idiots and are dooming the universe even more. (Except for a few.) And that's not getting into all the crimes the Genius Society does.
Hell, even Rubert I was trying to do the universe good, though in a very tunnel-visioned and frankly insane way. Dr. Primitive's motives are also benevolent, just very farsighted and callous towards people in the current day.
In the end the Erudition exists to know all things and so too must Nous. THEIR Emanators allow him to both change the future and keep it known. That is what our Genius Society members will do, they break free of the knowable/unknowable domain and change the future Terminus knows and Nous has predicted into being. But through the simulated universe, sceptres and power of Erudition they will foresee the new future they created. This will give them the same power as the Finality but without the Finality's need to end everything.
To preface this, I've just opened the video. I'll probably update the comment later. 1 hour video? Good lady you have absolutely cooked. Also, tf you mean sponsored by Hoyo?) UPD: based video, thank you!
If the Equilibrium is doing something, that definitely means it is planning way ahead of what everyone could even dare to comprehend. We know that the Equilibrium rarely interferes, and will only tip the scale once the balance had truly been altered. It may had tried to prevent Rubert's death because it was planning to use Rubert's war to birth another Aeon, kinda like how the Swarm Disaster birthed Tazzyronth (I forgot what it did back then, but iirc, the Equilibrium also had a hand in causing the Swarm Disaster). That would bring up a question though... Perhaps it is trying to make a brand new path, one that would expand a currently existing path further. Kinda like how Harmony expanded the Order, leading Xipe to absorb Ena as a result.
There was text in the SU lore that a human called for Nous to appear before him and Nous responded by showing themselves, that human's brain literally exploded since their brain cannot handle the amount of information

wth i didnt pay attention like this as well while im playing Simulated Universe.. the only thing i care on the SU is just when the Aeons getting to Auidience with us trailblazers, their appearance still make me feel mixed, like when we meet aeon Aha; i feel "what a joke this god is".. but while we meet Oroboros, Qlipoth, or seeing HooH the oldest aeon, i feel what the hella this ancient god is... but, i didnt really care and pay a much attention on the other story here like the lore of Genius Society, IPC, path of Erufition, and etc.. listening on u, didnt recognize that actually there's a REALLY MUCH interesting story here... really love on how u explain this thing... #req but may i suggest something, can u add background music? i think it can improve the atmosphere when listening to your hearttrembling story as well... THANKS😁😁🔥🔥
Ok. So, based on the waves talked about in this video. could it be that the geniuses are in some way, the interceptions point of the waves that nous predicted using the uncertain waves across the universe. so by nature, they become a 'key' in many unavoidable events (I want to say aeonic events, but this is really not my domain.) you may asked further, If nous really appointed genius by predicting they impact on aeonic events, why is all of the genius a some kind of researcher? and for that, i have no fucking idea. it could be bias, who knows? but if to just think about it for fun, it could be just a simple process of 1.From the data, we set a point at the spot of correlation 2. see what create that correlation 3.make sure that it isn't a coincidence 4.Vola! you have a new point of interest!(or a new genius idk) It is a very brutish way of doing stuff but, If you are a being with unimaginable amount of processing power, you can probably get very far with it.
I have a few questions if you don't mind. What is the Iron Throne? Is it something that exists physically in the HSR universe or a status/title upon reaching the peak of cognition? Is Rubert II smarter than Rubert I? Since he was about to leave the Circle of Knowledge and alter the universal definition of knowledge with the antilife equation.
It appears to be a physical location yet you are only crowned when you reach the peak of broadened cognition and become smart enough to do so. The details about how it works are a bit muddy. The throne itself seems to have the power to control equilibrium and determine where wealth etc flows in the universe. It seems to currently be occupied by Diamond at the end of the Stoneheart animation which depicts the throne but made of diamonds and the stonehearts walking towards it. I don't know who is smarter between Rubert I and Rubert II but Rubert I was described as being basically perfect and two aeons wanted to save him so I'd bet on Rubert I.
Thank you for this lore video! I just want to note that considering how complex and complicated the in-game text/story is, maybe a slower narrating speed is better? 😅
Not sure if this is helpful now but if you're having a hard time you could consider adjusting the video speed and seeing if slower works better for you
Assuming I'm right about him being in G&G, that makes him at least 600AE old. If he's from Amphoreus before the tide hit during the age of Ena, that would make him over 800AE since swarm disaster was during 13XXAE (so the same age as Dongfang Qixing and Louis Fleming, though still younger than Polka probably). It sounds crazy but tbh it really isn't given the scope of the worldbuilding and age of some of the other characters we've met...
It’s funny how you say the geniuses are helping when a lot of them have committed insane war crimes. Look at Ruan Mei, Polka, Dr. primitive. Though some good has come out among them.
love the fact that the story of this canonizes flat-earthers in the world of honkai star rail, which i find EXTREMELY funny.

the only thing i care on the SU is just when the Aeons getting to Auidience with us trailblazers, their appearance still make me feel mixed, like when we meet aeon Aha; i feel "what a joke this god is".. but while we meet Oroboros, Qlipoth, or seeing HooH the oldest aeon, i feel what the hella this ancient god is... but, i didnt really care and pay a much attention on the other story here like the lore of Genius Society, IPC, path of Erufition, and etc..
listening on u, didnt recognize that actually there's a REALLY MUCH interesting story here...
really love on how u explain this thing...
#req but may i suggest something, can u add background music? i think it can improve the atmosphere when listening to your hearttrembling story as well... THANKS😁😁🔥🔥
Ok. So, based on the waves talked about in this video. could it be that the geniuses are in some way, the interceptions point of the waves that nous predicted using the uncertain waves across the universe. so by nature, they become a 'key' in many unavoidable events (I want to say aeonic events, but this is really not my domain.)
you may asked further, If nous really appointed genius by predicting they impact on aeonic events, why is all of the genius a some kind of researcher? and for that, i have no fucking idea. it could be bias, who knows?
but if to just think about it for fun, it could be just a simple process of 1.From the data, we set a point at the spot of correlation 2. see what create that correlation 3.make sure that it isn't a coincidence 4.Vola! you have a new point of interest!(or a new genius idk) It is a very brutish way of doing stuff but, If you are a being with unimaginable amount of processing power, you can probably get very far with it.
Rubert II and l have the same mind, II is just l in a human body iirc
@@liamjohnson954 not confirmed, Rubert II simply claimed to inherit his memories.
Thank you for this lore video! I just want to note that considering how complex and complicated the in-game text/story is, maybe a slower narrating speed is better? 😅
Not sure if this is helpful now but if you're having a hard time you could consider adjusting the video speed and seeing if slower works better for you
SU5, seems the whole story is a little... sus

watching this after the G&G video brings up just one question for me: how fucking old is Dr. Ratio?????????
Assuming I'm right about him being in G&G, that makes him at least 600AE old. If he's from Amphoreus before the tide hit during the age of Ena, that would make him over 800AE since swarm disaster was during 13XXAE (so the same age as Dongfang Qixing and Louis Fleming, though still younger than Polka probably). It sounds crazy but tbh it really isn't given the scope of the worldbuilding and age of some of the other characters we've met...

Basically what's happening in our world? 😂
It’s funny how you say the geniuses are helping when a lot of them have committed insane war crimes. Look at Ruan Mei, Polka, Dr. primitive.
Though some good has come out among them.
All the geniuses are SO sketchy hahaha but I'm sure Nous has a plan...
900th like so satisfying
Omg I had to do a double take when I saw it was an hour long O_o We're eating good today! 🥹🫶
