    I’m always in comfort with my m440i. I switch back and forth through the modes to hear the exhaust tones and acceleration differences. I just turned 300 miles on the new car. The only quirk I have is the artificial exhaust sounds piped through the speakers. I set that to reduced but it’s still live under hard acceleration. Another great video here. Your the reason I bought my new bmw here. Mine is in San remo green. Sport plus is fun, but a little too aggressive for me.

    I bought a 2021 330i today and I learned a lot with this video. I played a bit with the different modes and I have to say that sport and sport plus modes are both very aggressive modes to drive in. It even got me scared a bit on how aggressive it is. If you go full throttle in sport plus you will notice that it will shift a little later when in sport mode. Even comfort mode is quite sporty I have to say. I really enjoy the car.

    Another great thing about Eco Pro for anyone who lives anywhere you get snow, ice etc. is that it dampens the throttle so that when you press it down the car takes a little longer to get up to speed. In low traction situations it helps you not spin up the wheels or worse when you're accelerating from a full stop.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely correct! BMW does not have a snow mode but if you were looking for the next best option, eco pro is the way to go.

    Does ecopro help a decent amount with city MPG? I always debate on that vs comfort for city driving.
    Also , what about switching the transmission into sport ?
    In the x7, I tend to put it into sport mode ind, to get a stiffer suspension, but I keep the engine and transmission in comfort to save gas. This is the LCI

  • @MrIhateposting
    @MrIhateposting ปีที่แล้ว +2

    We should talk about M/S mode (engaging M/S mode that is - not the sport button, but not engaging the paddles either).
    In comfort, switching to S mode is the best of both worlds I find....just a bit longer with the gear changes but no auto start issue and I THINK (not 100%) but its not as aggressive with the gear changes as in the default "Sport Mode button" in regular mode (not engaging m/s).
    This is coming from my 2023 X1 with iDrive 8

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, I do love being int he M/S Mode a good amount of time, especially in those situations where I need a bit more extra power. It does also deactivate the auto/start stop as well which many will be glad to hear. It's a great mode to be in when passing vehicles or taking tight turns.

    • @BeamerView

      Basically 3 different transmission modes.
      One is just D which is your regular drive mode.
      Two is S mode which is like D but the shift points are most aggressive giving you more power and responsiveness.
      Three. If you’re in the S mode, you can shift your paddle shifters or the gear shifter and that will bring the transmission in to M mode, which lets you shift your own gears as you wish and the vehicle will hold the gear as well.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  ปีที่แล้ว

      Engine being in sport would have the engine working faster of course, transmission being in comfort helps by smoothing out the shifting. Sporty shifting would have the RPMs hold higher and the Shifts would be more aggressive.
      xDrive vehicles have AWD on ALL the time, the vehicle will take care of it for you in the sense of which wheel needs more power diverted to it, there is not a way to keep them all equal unfortunately.

      Haha, good point. Yes majority I would say 80-90 percent would just keep it in comfort mode. But many of us performance drivers would love to be in sport the majority of the time. Especially if you have a super fun car like the m340i!

    Hello, I just ordered my 2022 bmw 530e. I have question. If I change gear to M/s while driving and set gear to s7 at 90-100 km/h. Do I get low Rpm? I want smooth riding when cruising, I don't want to make car scream. I mean like 100 km/h = 1500 rpm
    Can it be possible?

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you're RPM would be very low, the car will change gear all by itself if it thinks it's not a good gear to be in. The car you have will be very quiet. You can keep it automatic and the car will also take care of doing that for you.

    • @YouCantImagine

      But in M/s If gear is too high it is automatically change gear to low. It is what I understood

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some vehicles with the air suspension control like the X5 X7 and 7 Series can. When you go into sport mode on those it'll drop the heigh by one notch down from the standard height and keep it there.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      BMWs do not have a snow mode, but the best mode to be in during those times is going to be in the eco mode since it'll ensure a smoother take off.
