Another great thing about Eco Pro for anyone who lives anywhere you get snow, ice etc. is that it dampens the throttle so that when you press it down the car takes a little longer to get up to speed. In low traction situations it helps you not spin up the wheels or worse when you're accelerating from a full stop.
I’m always in comfort with my m440i. I switch back and forth through the modes to hear the exhaust tones and acceleration differences. I just turned 300 miles on the new car. The only quirk I have is the artificial exhaust sounds piped through the speakers. I set that to reduced but it’s still live under hard acceleration. Another great video here. Your the reason I bought my new bmw here. Mine is in San remo green. Sport plus is fun, but a little too aggressive for me.

@beamerview is there a way to change the sport mode sequence. For example when you press the sport mode button it changes to sport then sport+ followed by sport individual. Is there anyway to change it so the first time you press the button it goes to sport individual first??
I bought a 2021 330i today and I learned a lot with this video. I played a bit with the different modes and I have to say that sport and sport plus modes are both very aggressive modes to drive in. It even got me scared a bit on how aggressive it is. If you go full throttle in sport plus you will notice that it will shift a little later when in sport mode. Even comfort mode is quite sporty I have to say. I really enjoy the car.
Hey Willy, correct. BMW vehicles are known for their sporty drive and they do it the best. Going into sport mode in these vehicles turns them into another vehicle!
Hey I just bought a 2021 330i as well. It’s doesn’t have the M sport package (which from my understanding was only trim and slightly tighter suspension). I don’t have sport plus in my car tho, did you tune it or did it come that way?
Good question. I plan on doing a video on this separately but basically sport mode controls the chassis, steering, and engine feel. Sport transmission will basically hold the gearing longer than sport mode, it’s better to use when you just to to quickly accelerate past a car or getting on to the highway.
Are these made to be shifted back and forth continuously and while driving? Or should we stop or slow down before changing or make the changes more of a rare thing and kind of pick one normal mode? Thanks!
What is the difference between driving in sport+ mode vs when you shift the selector lever to the left (into M/S mode)? Also, can you change the modes while actively driving or should you be at a complete stop? Thank you.
Yes u can change the modes during driving! Also, M/s mode on the gear shift is so u can use the shifter-paddles on the S/wheel....basically to drive the car like a manual.
Engine sport would be much better than transmission sport. I have tried both and I definitely feel transmission being in sport keeps the RPMs much more higher therefore burns more gas

I thought when I put my 21 X5 m50i in sport plus, the side bolsters used to inflate automatically now them seem to not do that….did I accidentally turn something off? Any suggestions how to turn back on? Thanks!
If anything they should just squeeze you in tighter. Try going into sport mode and looking into the sport individual settings where you can change the feel of the steering wheel, chassis, and the engine, there may be an option there.
Tks for the video. One question: what mode should be used while in traffic jam? I often use eco pro to reduce car resposiveness so I dont have to break much. Don’t know if it improve gas efficiency as well?
We do not have the 118i here in the US but for most BMWs it does slightly tighten the dampening of the vehicle. I'm not sure if the 118i is different since its a smaller model but the majority are suppose to.

For all BMWs it's only able to start in the default mode. That may be either hybrid or comfort. Has to do with some law that states that the fuel economy numbers that was advertised for the vehicle is the mode in which the vehicle has to start in every time, bummer!
Basically 3 different transmission modes. One is just D which is your regular drive mode. Two is S mode which is like D but the shift points are most aggressive giving you more power and responsiveness. Three. If you’re in the S mode, you can shift your paddle shifters or the gear shifter and that will bring the transmission in to M mode, which lets you shift your own gears as you wish and the vehicle will hold the gear as well.
I have an f30 2014 330d xdrive and I used sports mode plus for the first time a a few days ago. It was great however since putting back in comfort, my gearbox is hesitating badly and I feel like of lost so much power?

Yes you're RPM would be very low, the car will change gear all by itself if it thinks it's not a good gear to be in. The car you have will be very quiet. You can keep it automatic and the car will also take care of doing that for you.
@@BeamerView Oh, It is automatically make the rpm low yes? But in M/s If gear is too high it is automatically change gear to low. It is what I understood

Engine being in sport would have the engine working faster of course, transmission being in comfort helps by smoothing out the shifting. Sporty shifting would have the RPMs hold higher and the Shifts would be more aggressive. xDrive vehicles have AWD on ALL the time, the vehicle will take care of it for you in the sense of which wheel needs more power diverted to it, there is not a way to keep them all equal unfortunately.

Yeah the BMW assistant will switch you directly to Sport individual or whatever you tell it to switch to. I usually drive in sport Individual setting was hoping there was a way to go directly into individual by pressing once the sport button instead of 3 times.
I have just ordered my BMW X3 but I didn’t get the adaptive suspension, does this still come with the other modes such as comfort eco and sport etc just not the adaptive button?
Yes it will still come with the modes. X3's im quite sure do not come with the mode regardless if you have it or not. The adaptive suspension basically improves the driving feel of the vehicle. You'll notice that it does a amazing job of going over bumps and it almost makes the car seem as though it is gliding over the road! @beamerview is there a way to change the sport mode sequence. For example when you press the sport mode button it changes to sport then sport+ followed by sport individual. Is there anyway to change it so the first time you press the button it goes to sport individual first??
Hey Julian, unfortunately not possible to change the sequence. I know you can tell voice command to go into sport mode. Maybe try saying go to sport individual? Have not tried that one yet, but worth a shot.
Yeah the BMW assistant will switch you directly to Sport individual or whatever you tell it to switch to. I usually drive in sport Individual setting was hoping there was a way to go directly into individual by pressing once the sport button instead of 3 times.
Comfort vs Comfort Plus?
Comfort plus would soften the suspension or dampening even more, but you will lose some performance from it.
I've been in vehicles with it and without and I CAN tell the difference!
Today i pick up 218 i gran coupe 2022 and watch all this videos to make all right.
Congrats, thanks for watching!
why do you feel it nesessery to shout
WHAT!?
@@BeamerView 😂
So far Ive noticed with my X4 M40i is if your not in Eco mode it gets shitty gas mileage and no power or not as much power as the other 2 modes, of course unless Frys or QT has shitty gas jajaja
Eco works great, but yes, reduces the power too much imo.
How to turn off the stupid drive modes??
Can't turn them off unfortunately, just leave it in comfort mode, thats the standard.
@@BeamerView that's slow.
My dash won’t turn blue in eco
I would check your settings. Go to CAR>SETTINGS>GENERAL SETTINGS>DISPLAYS. It should be able to adjust under instrument cluster.
@@BeamerView thanks back to normal
Yes! Glad it worked. Reach out if you ever have any questions!
Thank you for this video!!!!
Any time! Reach out if you ever have any questions!
Don’t forget DSC OFF and TRACTION!
Haha, vast majority won't be using it but great point!!
If I drove in comfort it was on accident
Its the perfect mode!
Ur a legend bro
Thanks bro! Reach out if you ever have any questions!
good explanation for 10 years old.
Exaclty!
Me: So if he says "So, ladies and gentleman" one more time, I'm out.
BeamerView: So, ladies and gentlemen..
Me: Bye
Haha my fault, still working on presentation skills. I use to say hey guys all the time so trying new terminology. Thanks for the feedback though!
@@BeamerView Your grown-up way of responding to my (negative) feedback deserves respect, Sir. Maybe it's me or maybe I'm simply too old or something, but that constant repeating "Ladies and Gentlemen" or even "guys" that many presenters do nowadays for some reason pisses me tf off. _One_ Ladies & Gentleman at the start of the speech, thank you very much! Well, in my little world anyway 😀. Otherwise nice content from an obviously skilled presenter.
@@ollyalmeMaybe you should use your master skills to do videos so all of us can benefit from your knowledge? For something so trivial you are a bitter soul. Dude is providing a service using his own time to help others. Maybe you should do the same.
@@theogeo14 Wow, "bitter soul", "master skills". Being this overly dramatic not least getting offended on behalf of others, you must be having issues 🤪
@@ollyalme You insulted the reviewer yet I am the one with issues? It is called a mirror, sporto. Maybe you should invest in one.
bmw only one mode SPORT.................
Always in that mode!!
I have the ADAPTIVE button instead of the HDC, how does it work?
Why do you have to talk so fast?
Why you gots to listen slow?
'Cos this car is so fast! Anyways...great info mate!@@BeamerView
stop shouting...
AHH!
Aggressive driving is not supposed to be the norm. Ecopro should be the norm to protect the environment. Why doesn't any of you TH-camrs get that?
I got big feet, can’t help it.
Neither is murder..
It is the difference between loving to drive a machine and driving a car because there is no other choice.
Indeed. Sports cars should be banned!
Edit: @Ask Dee… how dumb do you have to be to not understand the obvious sarcasm? Now go back to your gun channel!

Could you tell me why by battery is going dead when I drove in hybrid eco-pro mode?
Eco is designed to use the battery more than usual since using the battery is considered "Eco" If you want to maintain the battery, try using the battery hold mode.
@@BeamerView The "battery hold mode" = BMW X3 xDrive 30e's Battery Control, (which charges the battery while driving even though it will burn more petrol), right?
