The first round of France's presidential election is less than a month away and one thing seems clear: far-right National Front candidate Marine Le Pen is set to reach the second round run-off. Among her supporters, perhaps surprisingly, are young people. According to one poll, 25 percent of French people aged 18 to 30 say they plan to vote for Le Pen. Who are these youngsters and what are the reasons for their choice? FRANCE 24's team reports.

Because they grew up in a divided society. There is not sense of community in many of these "diverse" areas of France and these young people are tired of it. They're forced to live in this divided and unsafe society without their consent.
Not to mention their safety and life and sense of civility is threatened, too.
I'm french and 21 years old and I vote for Marine Le Pen in April and May.
Because you are too young to realize that your country will not be better off by blaming the Euro or Brussels. Le Pen will increase France´s problems.

Hey I’m not from Norway and I’m curious about the far right there, is it like a religious driven far right (like where i live)? Or is it more about nationalism? Because from where i come from most atheists are progressive and some even communist while most of the right and far right is religious people?

if le pan looses I am extreamly certain that france will become an Islamic nation and the native ethnic french will be purged from the nation and replaced with africans and arabs.

Growing up in a area with alot of immigrants drove me to the right. There were always tensions between the us "white immigrants included" and the arabs etc, and we all had our own groups. The others however were even more racist then the whites.

I don't think Le Pen's solutions are how I want to see France. I don't want France to become racist, xenophobic and paranoiac. I think we should promote our universalist values Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. These values have to be our fight and the basis of the construction of a true beautiful France.

One of my roommates is an muslim italian girl with her parents coming from Somalia. She is doing a PhD at DTU in Denmark. She doesn't wear a veil, does drink alcohol.
It is not a question of religion, but a question of integration and education.
Moreover, your sayings are also the reflect of the overall non justified fear of the other. There is a study in France where french people were asked to guess what was the percentage of the muslims in the french population. People replied in average 30%. In reality, it is 7,5%. This concept of the overwhelming place of the Islam in our society is false!
Why people believe that? Because they want to find a cause of all the bad news that are transmitted everyday in the media. Today, half of the news are about violence. Today, one person out of thirty showed in the television is a criminal but only 1 person out of 10 000 is a criminal. The show of the horror nourish the violence, the defiance, the hate towards each other. Open your eyes.
Finally don"t forget what was Christianism the last two millenaries. All the holy wars and the people killed. Don't tell me that the christian message was not a political one.
Open your eyes once again, it is not about religion, misconceptions and lack of educations are the power of this forces than pull muslims and europeans apart. It can be saved, but we have to work on it :)
How can you defend the Christians with all the Holy war they have done, killing more than 5% of the overall population in the continent. Islam means peace in arabic and has killed far less people. It is forbidden to kill anybody in the Bible as it is also forbidden in the Coran.

I am Dutch, not a fan of Wilders, not a fan of Le Pen either from what I've seen so far of her. But I read and hear that a lot of people, in particular young folks, are planning to vote Le Pen.

Lots of very complex reasons. The National Front has always been the scary far-right party in France, being led by notoriously racist and antisemitic Jean-Marie Le Pen. Its supporters were mostly fascists, neonazis and racist people in general.
However, Marine Le Pen, JM's daughter, gained power in the party and kicked her father out. She worked to rehabilitate the NF's image as a viable party, preventing outrageously racist and fascist displays or words. She also appealed to people's fear of mass immigration and unbridled globalization, blowing these out of proportion in her discourse. She smoothened the party's presentation, and gathered a lot of supporters by telling people she was the "savior of France", mainly vulnerable people in precarious situations. She pointed to immigrants and "globalists" as scapegoats and responsible for the decline of France; classic populism and demagogy.
People were attracted to this apparently "changed" National Front, which was also due to the loss of confidence in traditional left and right parties such as the Socialist Party or the Republicans after two widely disliked presidents from these formations (Hollande and Sarkozy) and majof scandals involving personalities from them. The NF presented itself as an alternative and a chance for renewal, while in fact Marine Le Pen and many other members have been in politics for decades.
In short, she's part of the Western trend toward right-wing populism.
