  • In the run-up to the French presidential election, the far-right Front National leader has courted growing numbers of voters in rural France where residents of villages and small towns have seen factories close and services disappear.

    Le Pen calls this ‘forgotten France’. Angelique Chrisafis went to a Burgundy heartland of the left to meet voters turning to Le Pen.

      Alex Daniel Fine liberal sympathies are commendable and usually cost those championing them nothing. However the resources required to pay for them are finite.
      The Guardian reported the 50% increase in population in Ely principally from Eastern Europe, meant the GPs had to employ three interpreters at £40 an hour each. A relative who is radiologist in the West of England was unable to treat a Hungarian lady as the £100 an hour interpreter missed the appointment. Of course the NHS has employed interpreters for years mainly for languages from the Indian subcontinent so you can say it is nothing new. In theory no, but as they tell us there are now over 300 languages spoken in London a quantum leap in costs is an undeniable fact. It would appear the more obscure the language the greater the cost so how could this be built into budgets? Another relative who occasionally locums as a GP in London is paid £800 a day so for eight hours work a Hungarian interpreter costs the NHS as much as a doctor.
      A graduate teacher in our town resigned last year because he could not cope with 14 children out of a class of 32 speaking various languages but no English. Meantime he was expected to bring the 18 English speakers many of whom were themselves from ethnic minorities up to ofstead standards. If your children were in his class and being neglected as a result you would probably object which would make you a racist.

      Yes. I just realized I have much more respect for the people who get fooled by Le Pen than Le Pen herself. Even if Trump won't keep any of his promises."_

      And who's fault is that ? Interesting that people can haughtily criticise those voting FN (and have the slightly distaining tone of this guardian piece) but NOT criticise the Left and Right that have ignored and fucked over normal people for years.
      Hilarious, that these people get blamed and NOT the fuckers in power (and in traditional opposition) (because its their fault this has happened - not the impoverished and ignored voter) who'd rather care more about other countries wishes, the EU, immigrants and not saying anything remotely controversial or addressing any actual issues that voters care about for fear of standing out, rather than actually support the people they're supposed to be serving.
      Given how badly we've been let down by these fifth columists that masquerade as politicians I'm amazed that any one is surprised at Trump, Brexit or the possible election of Le Pen. Have they not been paying attention over the last few years ? Too busy swigging GnT's at fashionable Islington parties , happy to take the money, save a bundle on the nanny, and their loft conversions done by a "handy cheap little polish chap we know", feather their own nest. The normal folks, those horrible little oiks we unfortunately allow to vote every once in a while can go fuck themselves right ?

      And still the Guardian failed to give the whole picture. No mention of how, for the most part, many of these so-called refugees are really economic migrants. Also, no mention that a significant number of these people will actively engage in terrorism. No mention of how most of these migrants will never assimilate to French society, but see the "open doors" policy as simply a very lucrative (especially where they're coming from) way of making a living without essentially doing anything. They are FAR more dependent on taxpayer provided services than citizens themselves while not providing ANYTHING toward that effort, and this pattern continues for many years after they have arrived.

      This is the unfolding of the Koudenhove-Kalergi plan conceived in the 1920s to flood Europe with nonereuropean peoples from Africa & Middle East to destroy the cohesion of the indigenous peoples of Europe and this has now become a UN sponsored plan to which UK & France are signed up. This immigration is never ending and we the indigenous inhabitants are looking on as governments of all parties make us minorities in our own homelands and doing it with the money they confiscate from us. USA is no different either; their parties have been doing the same thing since 1962 when the Democrats enacted legislation to open the floodgates. This is the work of the elite establishments described under a variety of titles including New World Order, Globalists Neocons etc., but it all amounts to a single unified organisation aiming to create a One World Government dominated by the US elite behind it. They first openly revealed themselves in the Presidential contest of 1944 when Wendell Wilkie stood on a republican ticket as a One World candidate. Please look up this name to get some idea of the background and the people really behind everything now happening. It is a vast well-documented subject which cannot be discussed satisfactorily in a mere comment posting

    I am British, and have to say I have always found the French difficult to understand, but I found this video very interesting. I am very curious to see the consequences of Le Pen coming to power: how she will proceed with the EU and how she will address economic problems in France, eg the unemployment referenced in this video.

    • @BrendanRiley
      @BrendanRiley 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She is an absolute clown and would only bring Franc's unemployment issues and outlook into a tailspin. What she is offering is 1930s style isolationism (which allowed the Great Depression to drag on for a decade) combined with recycled failed statism. If you look at her policy of nationalizing companies and engaging in trade wars, it is completely conceivable that France could turn into the new Venezuela of Europe.

    • @lizclegg7556
      @lizclegg7556 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what's so interesting. I saw one interview where she said she objected to foreign ownership of "French" companies but she seemed vague as to what she would actually do about this. Will she force transfer of foreign-owned shares to French nationals? What if the company isn't incorporated in France? Does she want to end foreign investment in France (her policies, as far as I can make them out, would appear to discourage it)? If so, does she think that will alleviate French unemployment? If she succeeds in negotiating French immigration policy and sovereignty back from the EU, what impact will that have on Brexit (this is why Britain wanted to leave)? If the EU refuses and she puts it to a referendum, if the French vote to leave, what impact on Brexit, and if the French vote to stay what will she do then? Resign? As far as I can see, her primary concern is about making France look like France looked 60 years ago (no headscarved women or whatever) and maybe that's what the majority of French voters want. But the role and job are surely bigger and more complex that, so part of me is really very curious to see her in action.

      I'm American and for years I shared your feelings about the French. Until one summer when I got to know several French students who were some of the nicest people I'd ever met. I realized I'd never really understand the country unless I learned the language. So that's what I did. It makes a huge difference. I don't have to accept other people opinions (which are largely worthless), I know what they think. In many ways I don't see them as that different from us.

      Well, that's mainly because most people in Sweden view the Moderate Party as very corporatist. And considering just how neo-liberal the Social Democratic Party has become, it wouldn't surprise me if the Sweden Democrats becomes even bigger than them. Whether it be right-wing or left-wing populism, it's certainly gaining results, at least in Sweden. People are simply sick of establishment politics.

    How do you integrate people where there are non jobs?
    Comment intégrer des personnes quand il n'y a pas de travail?

    • @BrendanRiley
      @BrendanRiley 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually there are hundreds of thousands of available jobs in France it's just that the French themselves AND the immigrants they bring in are either not qualified for those jobs or do not want to do them. France would do itself a lot of good if it adopted a Canadian-style system for skilled labour which allows immigrants in based on qualifications and labour market needs.

    • @rollingknuckleball
      @rollingknuckleball 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      + Brendan Riley, exactly, there may not be jobs in low skilled sectors. But there will almost never be a job shortage for high skilled labor, especially in a services based economy. Unfortunately most people just cannot fill out these jobs due to the fact that they are simply not qualified enough.
      If you would like to fill out these jobs using your countries own natives, than you really should be looking at improving the education system so that you don't have to give these jobs to skilled foreigners with the necessary skill sets.
