    Henin Beaumont, a former mining town in northern France, voted socialist for decades but is now a model for the way Marine Le Pen's far-right National Front party is capitalising on economic hardship. Anne-Sylvaine Chassany visited the region to find out why.

      No need to talk about her father : When you decide to lead a party, you check its history and political line first. It's like saying : "oh, but the NSDAP is fine now, its new leader is really an awesome dude". And marine showed several times that she had curious political links.

      Lol she doesn't need anyone to be hated. Her party has been founded by a bunch of crooks affiliated with the moon sect, the socialist party, collaborationists and ex OAS members. The flame of the fn is a reference to the fascist Italian party, she has been seen with an ex SS member, and she went to a neonazi ballet in Austria. Trust me, if this reporter had bad intentions towards her, he would have at least talk about that. Instead, he just says that marine le Pen is different from her father, which is completely inaccurate.

    • @tamanwar203
      @tamanwar203 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, yes I am. I'm 75% French and 25% German. And even if I wasn't, facts are facts, you can't deny the national front has fascist origins, and still has fascist supports, despite Marine's attempts to hide it. As we say : «charité bien ordonnée commence par soi-même» : If you want strangers to mind their own business, and if you are not a French citizen yourself, don't speak about a country's political history you seem to know extremely bad.

    • @tamanwar203
      @tamanwar203 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because you think you can be taken seriously ? A guy who thinks he can guess people's origins and bases a counter argument on someone's ethnicity ? If you think the right is "taking over", you're dead wrong : The right has always ruled the world we live in, you're only talking about the conservative form of the right. And as long as the right will be here, workers around the world will keep suffering from misery. If you think Trump and le Pen are different from Clinton and Hollande, I pity you. These people only care about their self-interest, and if we have to wait until people like you realize it before doing something, humanity will cease to exist.

      If we wanted to do a massacre competition, nationalism would definitely loose. 150 000 000 dead people due to the only british colonial empire. And as you should know, all the eastern states claiming they were "communist" killed even more communist people than the USA. Russia, China, Vietnam, North Korea etc. Never intended to abolish the class society, money, inequalities, or the state. It was just state capitalism, not communism. Makhno, Durruti, Goldman or Babeuf were communists, not Lenin, Stalin, Trotski or Mao

    It could be very simple to stop the rise of extremists and even Brexit. All it would take is for the EU to stop, listen to what the citizens want, and make changes. But they won't. So don't blame people when they turn to someone who will listen, no matter how 'extreme' they appear to be.

    • @CollectiveDefence
      @CollectiveDefence 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      You nailed it. I don't understand why some people think Europe must turn into one gigantic social security agency. Money doesn't grow on trees here.
      We had very strict immigration policies (for a reason) and now we're supposed to let millions of people in because the left said so.
      Don't get me wrong, I understand the people coming here flee from terrible things and/or from terrible poverty. But it's just not realistic to assume there will be a popular backing for this very politically,economically and socially draining refugee/migrant crisis.
      The "extremists" didn't come out of nowhere. They were greeted with a big, red carpet by the left.

      Hardcore Nationalism is pretty idiotic. IMO there should be a balance between both because yes countries should protect their citizens' safety and stability first but completely dismissing how interconnected our current world has become is pretty delusional. Having said that I would love to see Le Pen win. The EU was just a way to supply the strongest countries in Europe with cheap labor and restrict individual rights of its nations by centralizing power.

The front National came from a party who paricipated with the collaboration with the Nazi (great!). If you read her programme she is willing to censure the media, install catholic practices in public areas, fight any form of immigration, reduce philosophy and other self critic thinking lessons in favour of math and french (To be clearit means: "Shut up and work"). And worse she is willing to use Article 16 in the french constitution where she has the right to do anything (martial law). Do you still like her now?

      I actually live in Bordeaux, its smaller than paris but the culture salad bawl succeded here. And its not the migrants the problem, its the international markets who leads the european commission that needs to be taken down. Le pen is part of the system... If you want change you have two possible options: l'UPR d'Asselineau or la FI de Melenchon...

    • @marklowe7431
      @marklowe7431 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't confuse culturally compatible migrants with opposing culture that's about invading and conquering. They are two totally different things. Your success of many cultures integrating successfully is irrelevant. Here in Australia it's the same. We have countless immigrants that come here and make it a very good place to live. It's doesn't mitigate the one that wants us wiped out. That's not hate speech. That's not conspiracy theory. They have documented the plan and numerous times made their objectives public. RIP France.

    • @fabienmorgan5163
      @fabienmorgan5163 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are talking about a minority of people here, and france has a different geopolitical situation then Australia. The point is Marine Le pen is aiming on the wrong target. She thinks that migrants are here to invade france but the truth is that it is the great companies who actually controls the european commission and dictates their rules. The solution is to quit the EU, but not with Marine Le pen (she has crazy ideas on education and religion...). I thinth the best way to do so is with the UPR or la france insoumise party.

She's just an intelligent woman trying to manipulate the population by saying that she only wants what's good for France, but in her language, that means "Just ban as much immigrants as you can ". During debates with other candidates, she keeps on talking about Muslims or whatever and how they affect our country, she can't even raise important questions like tax avoidance. Truth to be told, all of her programm consists of rubbish ideas except some measures that will cost a lot and will fix nothing. If the immigrants go back to "their" country, we'll just be in more troubles than we are currently. Oh and some of her random ideas like turning the police into a milice ? Stupid :)

    When everyone is a politician, who are "the people". This is the age of education and information. The only thing we cannot all be is the doctor, architect, or the engineer. Also, this anti-immigration is racism talk is off, racism is racism. Remember, there are white/Caucasian Europeans living outside of Europe (naturalized elsewhere). So, sending out immigrants or halting immigration can at times mean sending these migrated or displaced Europeans out unless they are dual citizens. Which means if we are looking for racism patterns, there will still be white people coming into Europe, just not non white immigrants. Definitely and without question. This applies everywhere.

    And now for the second round - I believe there are plenty who will now vote for Le Pen who abstained during the first round and eventually they will feel safe enough to come clean about their support. It was shocking to see the women who said she could be attacked on the street if she was a Le Pen supporter. Who are the real fascists ? Those who physically attack those who hold different views

    There is that old proverb "Charity Begins At Home." The French (& other Europeans broadly speaking) must take care of their 'own' first B4 they can even start to think of immigrants. It is simple common sense.

    It's not quite fascism but great awakening of a sovereignty. Strangers can't wander into a country and do whatever they wanted. Chaos such as immigration, lost of jobs, lost of national identity way too common with globalism. It's a great movement for France...

    France too has its Rust Belt horrors, and the abandoned coal mines, textile mills and steel mills of its far north are cases in point.
    FN is not far right. Its economic policy, that EU members should be free to pursue independent monetary and fiscal policies, hence no euro, a partial return to protectionism via selective tariffs, even within the EU, its suspicion of financial capitalism, its defence of the French welfare state, its support for the separation of Church and State, all put it on the populist left. The FN is no friend of corporate France, of the multimillionaires. She detests Hollande, but would respect the old time French Communists.

    I totally understand this people but initially EU was created to lessen the tension and rivalries between European nations. Try to resolve the terrorism, immigration and other issues but one should be careful not to derail from the main goal of the EU . The next Word War will be amongst Western countries in search of power and dominance.
    Maybe this was all planned.

    Despite unemployment at 10% the French are too socialist to understand that its’ socialism which always fails and refuse to accept the hard EU economic reality of a general lowering of living standards. The free movement of Labour ensures the very poorest are hit hardest by foreign substitution.
    This report was interesting but the conclusions were wrong. Marine Le Pen has correctly diagnosed and highlighted the problems France faces but doesn’t have either the support or the correct economic program to regain French economic and fiscal stability. Macron refuses to acknowledge the EU is part of the problem and will also be a lame duck President, unable to push through any reform like Sarkosy and Hollande before him because French economic policy is trapped under the administration of Brussels.
    Macron will ultimately fail and the plight of France will worsen. The Front National will gain more support and the clashes across the political divide will worsen dramatically. Marine Le Pen stands a good chance to win in 2022.
