Hey everyone, welcome back to the cliff where we are beginning to see lots of changes and it makes me sooo happy!! Woot woot!
I set up my burning barrel and get lots of brush and downfall cleaned up, siding on the shed is pretty well finished, reclaimed roofing material is installed, and some interior work is started. PLUS - I find a super cool treasure from the old railway construction days!! PLUS PLUS a BIG surprise!! (or 2!!) 🌲🌲🪚😀

* Hound dog situation. I had managed to get Clydes GPS collar on him, but not Scout's in time. They were together most of the day, and managed to get all the way to the top of the mountain (Scout is unbelievable!), many kilometres away, but at some point near the end of the day they had separated. We were able to get Clyde but no Scout to be found. We found him Sunday morning after looking for him for a few hours - he was up near the top of our property on the rail grade, so we figure that he spent the night up there somewhere near where we usually park, and figure that the reason he didn't find his way back down was because of the steepness of the mountain and it being just too difficult for his 3-legged little self. He only lost two of his bottom teeth (he does face plants often), but other than that he was totally fine (just a bit sore and tired!). And mommy realizes that it IS that important for Scout to have his collar on at all times when we are out there.*

There’s so many things I could say about you and the wonderful life you live but I’m gonna speak to the one thing that stands out. You should find some touch up paint for those cut edges of your standing seam panels. Your exposing steel which will rust over time. Those are usually coated with zinc and when you cut them you expose the ends for corrosion.

Looked like someone across the lake was spring cleaning too. I saw a plume of smoke off in the distance. We built a log house off the main road and on a dirt town road up here in northern Vermont. When we cleared the lot and during the build there was always a burn barrel going. Originally it was a metal tank from inside an old water heater, just cut the top and bottom off and set it on paves for airflow. That fire would be roaring like a jet engine at times.
Yes, someone else was burning across the lake too!

Not even close to being chubby, you look very fit, and if you need your fans to confirm that, possibly another Irish Spring tidbit might be needed.lol The burn barrel made quick work of disposing of the wood clutter, and then being able to use the lid to cook on was perfect! Really enjoyed the views with the drone, shows a whole new perspective of the wilderness you are dealing with. Yep agreed it is in Scout's best interest to keep his tracking collar on him, for him, and so Mom isn't a nervous wreck when he's doing what he does. You, Steve and the fur babies stay safe!

Great Vid . Try using a trailing pully on the down side , so you have two contact points for the load and connect the two pulleys with a short rope say 3 foot in length that way it will follow the main one back up . Tighten the cable a tad . Now ,, That shed is a wonderful work of art . You are so talented , and have great skills when working in wood .Thank you for sharing ,, and please be safe .

There was a place I found one night a long time ago coming back from Fresno, I had taken a shot cut on Old tassajara road it was a beautiful country road with a lot of farms windmills barn's and cattle sparsely spread out in the tall parched grass behind barbed wire fences. I was driving in my 67 candy apple red mustang convertible with top down and loud radio blasting. I pulled over to relieve myself and it was there that I Saw the Star's brighter than I've ever seen before, and I mean I've been through the desert and even up Mount Palomar before but not like this nothing compared! So, I would later take my friends and it was always and awing experience. Just a thought shalom
I enjoyed that, Mich ! Very productive two days there and the view has really opened up now. Going to be a great place when you`ve finished.
FYI, in the Royal Marines when we are in the field and we need to designate a place to pee, we call it the Swamp and the act of peeing is known as swamping or going for a swamp ! Blokes who piss the bed after they`ve had too much beer are known as swamp rats !

Nice work! Wow! And the view! Gives me that weird "pit of the stomach" feeling with the drone footage. Love that you found the old wheelbarrow wheel. Definitely something to hang in the cabin once you get it finished. Or, perhaps a future project. I rebuilt an old wheelbarrow as a Covid project so it's certainly doable with your skills. Stay safe!

Hi Michelle, a little tip on cutting sheet metal. If you have a circular saw/ power saw all you have to do is turn the blade backwards and it will cut through the metal much faster and easier. Definitely use ear protection because it is loud.

Did you happen to see the video (maybe Ep 1 or 2) where I made that sign denoting where I was peeling the logs? It said “the peeling section”, so I actually had just crossed out the L and made it ‘peeing’ section. 😂. I don’t think many people actually got that - I think I should have shown the sign as it was first. 🤷🏻♀️

Buy two magnets, put one on one side of your jacket by your hand. Place the other magnet on top of the first one. Now put your screws or nails on top of magnets.
