In 3000 years of Iran history, it was always used as “aryan people” or “aryan lineage” and other ethnic groups like Turks are referred to as “Aniran” meaning non-aryan, but now these guys claim it has nothing to do with race….
Of course ppl never considered themselves racial groups, considering thats an 18/19th Century term, and etnos or ethnicity was specifically a Greek word synonymous with natos or [born of] nationality that migrated into European language. But Id like to see these guys explain the blondism and blue eyed caricatures of personages from India (incl Buddha) to predynastic red headed Egyptians like the mummy referred to as "Ginger" and statues of ruling elites of Egypt who had blue eyes, when Blue eyes is a recessive trait that emerged proto Indo European peoples around the Black Sea approx 6-8000 years bpe. Protip you cant do it. Blondism and Red hair are purely N. European traits and Blue eyes was a trait the expanded out from a single PIE mating pair. All the wordplay in the world cant dismiss the fact that IE peoples from N. India/Pakistan/Kaffiristan to Iran to N. Africa to Europe are all from one shared lineage and were at least part of the ruling classes of all the relevant nations of history. We are brothers and sisters.
I think they had a concept of race, but otherwise true and true. Modern genetics has proven the migration of fair haired blue eyed ppl from the Eurasian steppe. Also, Aryan refers to the people of the age of Aries. Atlantian descendants.

Irony: one of the ethnic groups persecuted, and murdered by the supposedly "pure Aryan" Natzis were the Romani aka "Gypsies", who were actually an lndo-Aryan group.
Not really. The people who originally invented the Aryan term and identity were almost certainly the Andronovo people, who were genetically European. These people then mixed with the Bactria-Margiana Archeological Complex(BMAC) and this mixed group then invaded Iran and the Indus Valley
@@alexdunphy3716 That's a misinformed opinion. First of all saying Andronovo were "European" is wrong to start with. Yes, they shared huge genetic similarity with Corded Ware Culture of Europe, but neither of them had any common understanding of "Europeaness" it's like saying Yamnaya were Siberian, cuz they derived a huge part of their ancestry from Ancestral North Eurasians. The European identity is a modern construct, not applicable to these ancient people. Secondly, it's not certain if or not Andronovo themselves started calling themselves Aryans before they started migrating south towards BMAC. It's equally plausible that they came with this whole idea of Aryan identity after migrating into BMAC, when they mixed with the Iran-Chalcolithic Farmers of Oxus civilization (who's land they inhabited) infact Andronovo Homeland was itself situated over the Oxus Homeland which means there was mixing even before their migration southwards, Eastern sites of Andronovo show even mixing with East Eurasian populations. Finally, there's no evidence of any large scale "invasion" of Indus Valley Civilization (peaking arounf 2000 BCE), infact it was already mostly gone by the time Indo-Aryans migrated into India (1500 BCE). Hence it is more plausible that the process was more of a migration (settlement with no major aim of subjugation, with possible minor skirmishes here and there) rather than full on invasion .
@@alexdunphy3716 Nope, Aryan Haplogroup is exclusively R1a1a, there's almost 0 evidence of R1b being present in either Andronovo or even Sintashta. R1b is not related to Indo-Iranians at all.
The word āryan is often found in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain texts. In the Indian spiritual context, it can be applied to Rishis or to someone who has mastered the four noble truths and entered upon the spiritual path.
This is precisely why I believe Ancient history is so vital in our elementary schools, and should be presented in depth, and not simply skipped over in one or two chapters (paragraphs). Young people want and need to know who they are, and where they came from, and, that they all have value. And "Value" is not dictated by skin color.

The title of the video is a little misleading, it was more about the debunking of aryan invasion and the unfortunate marring of the study of aryans by 20th C race politics. There is however a lot that wasn’t discussed, like the actual evidence of Aryan origins and migration, since they did actually exist. Didn’t talk about linguistic origins and data. And then at the end made the suggestion that everyone can be aryan regardless of skin colour. That seems silly to me, why do people need to be called aryan to be considered noble or civilised or cultured? I got so confused at that point and started to think this was actually more a polemic in favour of a certain political position, especially given the misleading title. Bit of a shame because the aryans are such an interesting and influential group.
Aryan Invasion Theory has been debunked. You're right, it's because of the "race politics" that this identity was thrust upon the people of the Indian subcontinent.

I was looking for a lot of similar information and sort of disappointed at its absence too. There’s a TH-cam channel that shares mythology and history including Indian history and it actually sites the invasion theory and even connects that to the foundation of caste. So I wanted to see what other information was available about “Aryan people”. I think this video is useful in a completely different way. Racism, white supremacy, and European influence can be observed in most parts of the world and to think that the misinterpretation of Vedic texts can be considered one of its roots is astounding to me. I feel more inclined to learn about India because of how much it’s indirectly impacted the world in this dimension.
Modern day historical revisionism. The Aryan invasion is not a "theory" and is written of in old Indian texts and understood by Northern Indians to this day.

If so then I'd like to tell you that the Aryan tribes fought the people called "Dasyus/Dasa" and Micheal witzel and many other scholars have said that these were the North Iranian tribes. Ethnic empowerment is a strange subject. Its seen as good when the subject ethnicity is on the bottom of the social hierarchy, but bad when the subject is at the top.
Yeah, it’s so sad in a way. Everyone seems to want to jump to value judgements immediately. It would be so cool if we could talk about ethnicity and the genetic makeup of a population without assuming that it’s about superiority or anything. Obviously this whole topic has been abused by racist pseudo science in the past, but it’s not very helpful to just try to reverse the entire narrative to make people feel better. If we keep assigning so much meaning and value to anyones ethic/racial superiority, humanity is probably never going to overcome racism. Just because one population was conquered by the other, the descendants of the conquered population are somehow lesser people? That’s just such a backwards mindset. Sorry for the rant, I just got super confused by this kind of stuff in the past to the point where I thought that there was never any kind of aryan migration. Until it came up in one of my classes where it was mentioned by an Iranian professor of mine and I asked if it was actually still scientific consensus. I felt so stupid for just buying into this Out Of India narrative when all the evidence seems to point in a different direction. But yeah, I hope that some day we can just collectively move on from even feeling that ethnic empowerment is even necessary. Kind of reminds me of the whole Olmec head thing that has been going on.

This video, by far, is one of the BEST one and most objective one on the topic of the Aryan. I am a Persian and have studied my history objectively for the past 35 years and know for a FACT that the word ARYAN is a Persian word first appeared in the Zoroasterian religion book Zend Avesta some 4000 years ago during the Pishdadian dynesty in Iran. It is mentioned that Persians are true Aryans by the virtue of being Zoroasterian. The meaning of Aryan in Persian is moral, noble, or ethical and NOTHING MORE. There is absolutely no gentic Haplogroup fantasy associated with this adjective word Aryan. Now some missguided people can eternally delve into the fake Aryan eastern European which absolutely a joke and a pure falsification of history since there in NO gentic identity associated with Aryan. FAKE science is everywhere now-a-days but 4000 years ago no body called themselves Aryans but Persians and their direct cousins Medes, and Parthians. Dariush the great (Darius) 2550 years ago in Parseh (Persepolis) on a golden tablet proclaimed that: I am Dariush King of Kings, king of lands containing all kinds of men, .................A son of a Persian having Aryan lineage (noble, moral, ethical lineage). The rest is history, and we are ONE race the HUMAN race. I suffice here.
Are you not aware that Indo-Aryan peoples extensively inhabited Eastern Europe well into the historical period? Scythians and later the Sarmatians are unquestioningly Indo-Aryan and lived from the Danube in modern Hungary all the way east past the Urals. The descendants of the Sarmatians, the Ossetians literally call themselves Aryan in their own language to this day...
@ssir5927 Did you know that almost the entire continent of Europe also call themselves Aryan? Even the Greeks! Also, the entire country of India, Pakistan, Azarbaijan, North Africans, Russians, Ukrainians, and many others call themselves the TRUE Arans, and everyone else is a second class to them? Yes, the name Aryan has become a CURE for the inferiority complex these people have about their own race! Aryan is NOT a race as invented by the French, English, then the Germans. Aryan is simply a character identity of a devoted Zoroasterian individual of Iranian origin and nothing more. Now you can believe in anything you like but I already explained the origin and meaning of Aryan. Peace ✌️.
@@marioscubla6558I am referring to the actual endonym of the Ossetian people, not some vague hyper-race thing. My point is that the horse riding militarily dominant ancestors of the modern Iranians are in fact European. Genetic evidence has tied them to the Baltic of all places. Actual historical evidence places Iranian peoples in Europe. This is not myth, but actual written history from not even that long ago.
@ssir5927 You are drawing your information from the white supremacist Eurocentric history, which is full of FAKE glorification of the imaginary dominant white European race! But in REALITY, true science has already proven that chronologically the white race came to existence roughly some 7000 years ago during the bronz age and before that they were brown skin, black hair people living in north Asia to Eurasia where exactly the Persians, Meds, Parthians, and many other indo Iranian people used to live as simple hunter gatherers. While some of these people migrated to the west into the European continent void of vitamin D in their diet.......low UV sunlight......they gradually became white. Whereas the 3 major indo Iranian tribes the Persians, Medes, and Parthians, just migrated to southwest Asia from north central Asia into the Iranian platue. These Iranian people had black or brown hair, somewhat olive skin color, and morphologically tall and slender, which had NOTHING to do with their ancient pre European cousins who had moved to Europe several thousands years earlier and Genetically MUTATED into a much lighter skin, hair, and eye color. There is absolutely no other connections between Iranians to Europeans other than what I mentioned. The Osetians over millenia have mixed so much with Slavic people that they don't even look like Iranians. Finally, horse riding is a skill achieved by many different people over at least 13000 years ago and not just by Iranians. I hope I covered all the topics on the Aryan myth invented in the 17th century first by the French, English, and the Germans.
@@ssir5927 They are not indo Aryan. Indo Aryan specifically refers to a group of indo European ancestry that inhabited India. It was only these people and their Iranian counterparts that ever used the term Aryan as a self designation in any way, often cultural. It is not genetic. It definitely does not refer to any European when it comes to this context. And it has no significant value. Just another name used by one of thousands of cultures throughout history.
The thing with the term "invasion" is that due to the sheer numbers of modern populations what we think of as invasions are dramatically different from what they would have been back 4000 years ago. What seems to be agreed upon in this is that groups of people from modern day Iran came down into modern day India. Due to the numbers of humans back then it certainly wasn't some systematic thing where one great nation conquered another, but when tribes move into new areas archeology shows us that usually one group beats up the other and then those who survive any conflict that occured merge together. We also know that the chariot is a weapon of war back in ancient times and it only appears in india after this aryan migration. Point being, during this migration there was likely conflict between the settled culture and the migratory one after which the two peoples became one. Now is this an "invasion" in the way we think of the term today? no, probably not, but in a historical context of a few tribes warring over territory then maybe it was.
British, Germans and other Nordic peoples are the real ARYANS. Others like Romas and Jews are eternal enemy of the ARYAN. Indians are mixed with DRAVIDIANS and therefore a savage race, should be subservient to the WHITE, NORDIC ARYAN HERRENRASSE. Talent, abilities and hard work are irrelevant.

It is always funny to me when Europeans claim that they are "Aryans". Secondly, Iranians specifically "Persians" or "Parsa" called themselves "Airya" since they believed their religion Zoroastrianism, a corruption of the original Vedic religion was "Aryan". Medes never called themselves as Aryans, neither did Sogdians or Parthians. Only Persians did. So, it was not an ethnic term. In sanskrit, Europeans are considered as mlecchas or ritually impure and not Arya. So, I always find it funny when the former claim such Arya status as Savarna Hindus. The Greeks and Romans generally referred to as "Yavanas" fell under the category of mlecchas. Interestingly enough, while the Iranians called themselves "Airya", in Sanskrit records Parasikas or Persians along with Valhika or Bactrian were also lobbed with mlecchas or people who were ritually impure.
True but I think that the word mleccha mainly has to do with religion, not ethnicity... At some point in time, only those who subscribed to the Vedic religious ideas might be considered to be pure by the "Indo-Aryan" and all others Mleccha (People to the north-west who were mainly Greek/Persians who didn't follow the Vedic religion), Dasa (Some Iranian/Indian tribes who were against Vedic thoughts) etc.

History is being re-written to accomodate American Imperial Ideology of egalitarianism. Aryan meant both "noble" and ethnicity. Its preposterous to believe the learned British were racist but the war like ancient Aryans were color blind Americans, that somehow paradoxically established the caste system. Indians, up to this day, are very ethnocentric and racist. When it is pointed out that the narratives of history are established to serve political objectives the present is no exception, and in the present, it is American ideology that is dominant. Good point. One need not be an Indologist to notice India's stratification is based on color, and this system has roots in Vedic times, pointing to Aryan hostility to darker skin peoples. At first I might agree, if it wasn't for knowing and understanding historical patterns. The Turks and the Mongols that arrived during the Middle Ages conquered Central Asia and India. They conquered each other in East Asia, pushing each other. So why would the Arians not have done the same, if that is the logical historical pattern? I disagree with you, because what you say is not logical, but rather sounds politically correct. Not historically sound.
That's correct- and this happened _all over_ . Egypt is *another* good example- at various times it's been conquered by Southern Europeans, Greeks, Central/Northern Europeans, Arabs, Romans, Persians, (and even more ancient Hittites and Hyksos). India, for itself, has kind of a peculiar geography, so that no big world empires ever came out of India, however India is geographically amenable to being conquered. From 10,000 BC and even before then, the history of the world is a history of people going to and conquering other places. Even when it was the tribe across the valley, if they had more grain in their silo, "let's go attack them and kill them and take their grain".
A visit today, to modern Iran, will show you, that the population is sharply divided into two cultural groups: One which bare all the physical attributes of Central Europeans, and the other, which shares physical attributes more with the populations in Pakistan, and India. Afghans are no different: Those who's ethnic heritage is from Iran, Tajikistan, Bactria, and Uzbekistan, are of lighter complexion, and bare a different culture. The Afgan-Pashtu of the South-East, are of a darker race, and bare the deeply religious cultures, customs, and mentality of their Pashtu cousins of Pakistan.
Uzbeks are a Turkic race they very differwnt than other Afghan races and Tajiks and Pashtuns are genetic cousins who look similar only difference is their language and culture and only the Pashtuns in Pakistan share similarity with the Afghan Pashtuns while the other Pakistani ethnic groups share no similarity.

*Aryan meant "Noble" in Sanskrutam/ Sanskrit - All Humans whom were highly moral, simple, had jnyana (knowledge and wisdom) and walked the right path throughout her/his life that became beneficial for all was called an "Arya" or "Arya Purush".* As per Sanatana Dharmik scriptures there is *no rigid class system and people could align themselves to their professions as they liked and hence called "Varnashrama Dharma" - Varna - Ashrama - Dharma -> Duty as per job or leaning in material life. Moreover the Brahmins/Brahmanas were supposed to live extremely simple (basically destitute), ought to perform prayers for oneself and society and provide free education. Kshatriyas were spiritually enhanced to the level they used to "protect Dharma" , Vaishyas (Merchant/Business class) providing employment opportunities and Shudras were "Service men/women" - Those whom served or worked just like Engineers, Skilled workers, Architects, Designers, Manufacturers etc. These virtues and values were practiced throughout till the 17th - 18th Centuries (pre - colonial era) during the final periods of the Mughal Empire in India. This fact is attested by the Mughals themselves in their Book : *Fatawa - E - Alamgiri* written by Naqshbandi scholars on the lives and culture of Indian society in Aurangzeb's period (pre - Maratha era).* The description is very clear. Hence there was economical disparity based differences in social status for over the period of colonial rule as this book of the Mughals was used by the then colonials to target the social fabric of the country with a motive to bend it to their own will. For the most part the colonial experiment was successful and till date Indians identify more with the west than with their culture and themselves.

European scientists in 18-19c. concluded that people of Caucasus mountains are most pure, strong and beautiful race of people, so white race probably originated there. So white race was called Caucasian. Ironically people of Caucasus also distinguished not only by race but as only non-Aryan ethnicities in huge Indo-European ocean, between Slavs and Iranians
It had nothing to do with purity or beauty. They were obsessed with skull shapes and found that the skull shape they most closely identified with the white race was that most typified by people living in the Caucasus region. Of course today we understand that that is pure nonsense.
@@brucetucker4847 The Caucasus as the origin of humanity and the peak of beauty In the eighteenth century, the prevalent view among European scholars was that the human species had its origin in the region of the Caucasus Mountains.[22] This view was based upon the Caucasus being the location for the purported landing point of Noah's Ark - from whom the Bible states that humanity is descended - and the location for the suffering of Prometheus, who in Hesiod's myth had crafted humankind from clay.[22] In addition, the most beautiful humans were reputed by Europeans to be the stereotypical "Circassian beauties" and the Georgian people; both Georgia and Circassia are in the Caucasus region.[23][22] The "Circassian beauty" stereotype had its roots in the Middle Ages, while the reputation for the attractiveness of the Georgian people was developed by early modern travellers to the region such as Jean Chardin.[22][24] Christoph Meiners' 1785 treatise The Outline of History of Mankind was the first work to use the term Caucasian (Kaukasisch) in its wider racial sense. (click on image for English translation of the text) The term Caucasian as a racial category was first introduced in the 1780s by members of the Göttingen School of History - notably Christoph Meiners in 1785 and Johann Friedrich Blumenbach in 1795-it had originally referred in a narrow sense to the native inhabitants of the Caucasus region.[25] In his The Outline of History of Mankind (1785), the German philosopher Christoph Meiners first used the concept of a "Caucasian" (Kaukasisch) race in its wider racial sense. Meiners' term was given wider circulation in the 1790s by many people. Meiners imagined that the Caucasian race encompassed all of the ancient and most of the modern native populations of Europe, the aboriginal inhabitants of West Asia (including the Phoenicians, Hebrews and Arabs), the autochthones of Northern Africa (Berbers, Egyptians, Abyssinians and neighboring groups), the Indians, and the ancient Guanches.[36] It was Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, a colleague of Meiners', who later came to be considered one of the founders of the discipline of anthropology, who gave the term a wider audience, by grounding it in the new methods of craniometry and Linnean taxonomy.[37] Blumenbach did not credit Meiners with his taxonomy, although his justification clearly points to Meiners' aesthetic viewpoint of Caucasus origins.[38] In contrast to Meiners, however, Blumenbach was a monogenist-he considered all humans to have a shared origin and to be a single species. Blumenbach, like Meiners, did rank his Caucasian grouping higher than other groups in terms of mental faculties or potential for achievement[37] despite pointing out that the transition from one race to another is so gradual that the distinctions between the races presented by him are "very arbitrary". ----------------- I think it is clear that my words "they thought so.. European scientists - rather *colonial scientists* did everything to please their masters and twisted entire world history. Now that Out of India theory among others backed by science are coming out, academia has already started accepting every other probability there is and come to a distinguished conclusion through proper evidence, research, discussions and debates. *All this they do now by first learning ancient languages - going to the subcontinent, dwelling deep into the works of the ancient world, archaeological sites, pottery etc. and then come to a conclusion which colonial historians were extremely feeble at (not generalizing but in plural).*

Their sages, or Rishis, after many years of meditations and learning, derived some great ideas or hymns(Riks) on God and universe. Several haplo-groups were involved in this expansion, including the Indian-origin R1a1a. This was almost a total replacement event, which indicates that Indo-Aryans, among others, expanded westward into Europe and to a large extent replaced indigenous European males and their Y-chromosome strata (Sharma and his associates, 2009) This genetic evidence indicates that several Y-chromosomal (patrilineal) lineages, one of which was the Indian-origin R1a1a, gave rise to the modern European population. @@descendedofrigvedicclans2216 In 2005, K. Thangaraj and his colleagues at CCMB published their findings about the origin of Andaman islanders in the journal Science. The Onge turned out to have surprisingly unmixed origins. They had likely lived isolated in the islands since the arrival here of the first group of humans out of Africa. There were mutations in their mtDNA that were found nowhere else in the world. These mutations must have originated here and not spread. The Onge were an untouched link to the earliest humans who settled the planet. Almost all Indian groups had inherited varying portions of their ancestry from a population related to western Eurasians. Most Indians alive today are descended from a mixture of two very different populations, Reich and colleagues reported in Nature in 2009 based on a study of 25 ethnic groups. These two populations-the red and green of the earlier analogy-were given the names Ancestral North Indians (ANI) and Ancestral South Indians (ASI). The ASI, likely aboriginal inhabitants of India since no trace of them is found outside the subcontinent, were a sister population of the Onge. The two must have diverged after being separated, one on the mainland, one on the islands. The ANI showed genetic similarities with Europeans, Middle Easterners, and Central Asians. Some ANI ancestry was present in almost all Indian groups, but the percentage was found to be greater in the north of India and lesser in the south-for example, Kashmiri Pandits could trace about 70 per cent of their ancestry to the ANI people, and the Mala, a Dalit community from Andhra Pradesh, around 40 per cent. Broadly, groups that spoke IndoEuropean languages and were traditionally considered upper-caste had a larger ANI component. No groups in mainland India were seen with only ASI ancestry. The Onge were the only group studied that showed absolutely no trace of ANI ancestry. At some time in the past, these two very different populations had inter-bred, and at some later point the castes, clans, communities and tribes we see now had formed as endogamous groups that only married within themselves.

No it is no coincidence. It is a well established fact (through the study of ancient DNA) that the Corded Ware culture of northern Germany, Poland, the baltic region, Bielorussia and western parts of Russia/Ukraine was the origin of the populations who later became the Indo-Iranians. The Indo-Iranians are not direct descendants of the step populations who were the founders of the Corded Ware culture (Yamnaya). Instead, the step population pendulum first swung west (Yamnaya -> Corded Ware) and only then it swung back from there (with new DNA admixture acquired in the West - in particular Western Hunter Gatherer DNA - in the baggage).

My question is that they are not mere ruins, they were homes where people lived, children played, people lived here and raised families. But no one seems to be asking where have these people gone? The regular answers are: floods, climate change, drought, rivers changing their course and deforestation destroyed the Indus culture which was as large as western Europe but nothing happened to the incumbents(Vedic/Aryan people) even after living in India for almost 3500 years. I find it impossible to believe this stuff . Can anyone help me?

So there is a big gap.
@Aurangzeb, Corona E Azam I had been an amateur military historian for many years and I have also followed many wars fought from 1971 onwards on radio the world over. I deem human beings more of brutes and less than animals. Regardless of their color they have an active inner core that seeks domination and revenge. The bitter truth is that there can be no racial unification. Added to this is the linguistic and religious fanaticism that is fed on the fuel of hatred and promoted by powers to be. Humans are essentially brutes, they are very intelligent, cunning and ruthless. The last line is not mine, it is the anthropologically definition of Homo sapiens sapiens(us). Please check it. So color and complexion are of no consequence.
As a linguist it’s a far fetched idea to described the Arians and protoarians as a non ethnic group, and only a some kind of ‘noble people’ with no common or cultural traits. The effort of culturally neutralize the idea of an Aryan people is more a reflection of your own projections on culture based on the result of the distorsión of these ideas in Europe in the last two centuries. There is no relation between the historical Aryans and your own ideas of race and culture.
The word Iran is taken from the Kurdish language, which means it means the Aryan race, Aryan. After days, time, and hundreds of years passed, Aryan was changed to Iran.
It would seem this video starts from an vague premise that I feel should be explained more throughly. The idea of ethnicity has been around for as long as mankind has been on Earth, its the concept of ethnicity that is not the same thing as it was in the past because it changes over time as we redifine ourselves we do it for others as well. In the ancient world it used to be intrinsically linked not to class but to nationhood. And the border of the nation was not the empire but the city. Ancient people's could see themselves as brothers but never as the same. That's why Semites were such nationalists despite all living in the same place. In that context being Iranian was as alien to Persians as being Latin or Greek. This is also why the Greeks had a distinct cathegory for blond people called "yellow" yet people like Achilles or Alexander were considered Greek despite being blond. Foreigners weren't just different phisically they were alien in culture and the only people equal to you were the ones living in the same city. Hence why Socrates was a considered a foreigner despite living a few miles beyond the borders. And its not that much different between infamous gardner Sargon of Akkad and his king Ur-Zababa. It would take humanity until the late middle ages with the Absolute Monarchs that gave birth to maritime empires to have nations of equals all across the board.
technically etnos was a Greek term, and has a history of about 2500-2800 years... but there is evidence the Egyptians considered race on the table of nations as well as other sources like the Indian Epics.
@@user-ud7ei6zv7i I never went into full detail about the haplogroups and such so I find what you're telling me fascinating. I agree on A LOT of things probably even more than I realize at first glance even. Except I disagree in some minor issues. Technically, the widespread nomadic Scythians relationship with the Classical Greeks predated Alexander the Great by Centuries. And it was deep enough to have Scythain iconography not just in Greek art during the Golden Century but in the sacred Parthenon itself. Ilyrians on the other hand, never expanded to such extent going from Northern Italy to upper Greece and it is possible that they had reached Macedonians but not Thessaly since historically speaking, Ilyrians lived further North and were said to clash with and form alliances with the Etruscans against protoCelts from Central Europe. It seems much more plausibly to me that blond hair in Thessaly comes from a much earlier preAnatolian period and is not Pelasgian but Chalcolithic or even Neolithic in origin. Ilyrian tech however, might as well have reached all of Greece since the Spartan already had a variant of the Ilyrian helmet when in the Peloponese by 8th Century BC. As far as DNA is concerned, mainland Acheans came from Cycladic Minoans from circa 2800 BC to 2400 BC whom themselves came from from Anatolian peoples from around 6000 BC. I recall a study done in Crete with bodies from around 3300 BC, from 2007 I believe, which sugested that they share the same DNA with modern day peoples from the island. Likewise genetically speaking, Classical Greeks were indeed decentants of the so called Mycenean Acheans (study from 2017) but they also kept their culture as a basis of their own and somehow Hellenized ( impossed it ) the rest of the Aegean Sea. However, Anatolian peoples had A LOT of interaction with Semithic peoples after the Chalcolithic ended thus making them remarkably different from the Acheans both genentically and culturally speaking, and more similar to Bronze Age Pakistan than Bronze Age Greece, which is why Semitic Sumerians were keen to trade with Harappan peoples from that far back into the Bronze Age. Although their heads of empires did form a brotherwhood between eachother, according to letter transcipts, it was no different than between the Egyptians and themselves, meaning it was more of an honorary title for important peoples, heads of state / government officials, rather than a familiar bond of an ethnic origin of some sort. At this point I'd also like to mention Armenians are also a very interesting group since the were a horse riding steppe dwelling people reaching the heartland of Europe (modern day Armenia) well into the late Bronze Age. But basically this tells me they were at the very edge of the Hallstatt sedentary peoples and had a very strong connection with preScythian Aryans/Iranians. The Mitani took horses from the Armenians and came up with the war chariot tech and it was through this vehicle how the great Empires of the Bronze Age reached their peak in splendor, including the Mycenean Acheans. The history of how both, Minoans and Hellenic Greeks, were able to survive the Bronze Age collapse is remarkable. They basically kept retreating further away from the coast and kept building higher and higher up in the mountains to places which were seemingly impossible to conquer by the SeaPeoples, and finally after they were gone, they gradually returned and reclaimed their lands, Pan Helenism was syill a reality but it had been so long that they lacked a written common language, and by the 8th Century BC when they had already fully recovered, and were fighting against eachother while amassing considerable armies, but keeping a Pan Helenic sentiment which could undoubtedly trace back to those frightful humble recluses from Dark Ages after the Bronze Age Collapse that eventually lead them to best the mighty Persians in the Archaic age with a little help from the Scythians previously weakening the heart of the Persian Empire course.

"I am of noble lineage" totally makes sense as a sentence. More to the point, you should actually look at it in the ancient Iranian--a language you cannot speak, so maybe should not spout off about it on the internet. (I can't either BTW, which is why I defer to scholars who can and have spent their whole career studying the matter.)
Thank you for clarifying. I could never reconcile the differences between Germanic and the people living in today's Iran. How can they both have a claim on being Aryian. I also appreciate to have learned that the reference isn't to distinguish a particular race. How very noble.

Based on this video it seems to me that Aryan was an ethnic marker but in an older sense, referring purely to culture rather ancestry. For example Slovyan/Sloven, Slav, literally something like “worded” refers to one who can speak (in proto Slavic), as opposed to a Nemec, a mute (one who does not speak proto Slavic), thus the Frank Samo or some earlier Goth or Scythian who assimilates into a Slavic culture and speaks the language would be considered Sloven. Similarly someone who is Teutonic is someone who is of the people, but the people are “people who live like us” not “people who descend from the same genetic ancestor group as us”. To the Greeks or Romans also, a Barbarian was one who did not speak the language of a civilized culture (Greek, Latin) and does not live a civilized lifestyle (lives outside of large cities, wears pants instead of robes, drinks beer instead of wine, is a citizen of a civilized state like Athens, Sparta, or Rome etc.) by this definition a black person or a blonde person (seen as a race distinct from the white Mediterraneans) can be civilized as long as they live like a Greek or Roman and obtain citizenship. Among the Greeks ancestry mattered more than in Rome, your parents both had to be born in the state for you to be a citizen, but even then ethnicity/genetics weren’t important, a Phoenician, a Celt or a Nubian could live in Athens and have a kid there and that non Greek kid would still be a citizen & therefore civilized. In Rome of course it was even easier with military service being a path to citizenship & from there all you needed to do was assimilate culturally. So it looks like Aryan was an ethnic marker in that sense. Do you share our moral values, pray to our Gods, etc? If so it doesn’t matter if you’re a tan guy with a hair colour range from black, through brown, to red like the migrating Aryans, a dark skinned descendant of Dravidians, or a tan but purely black haired Elamite, you’re Aryan. Am I correct in this understanding?
It is always a delight to hear one set of basically ideological concepts being used in dissing others, especially when the proponents of a newer ideology point out the flawed assumptions of a previous generation - while merrily asserting their own flawed assumptions .. as if fact (or at least more 'true'). A race of intelligent, gentlemanly, nobles clearly sounds rather odd to the modern ear, being quite accustomed to a political shift in how the term 'race' is to be used, now being almost exclusively a division related to skin colour, a continent of origin, or the claims that are made about them; but the term, stripped of this shift in meaning, relates to a class of peoples related to shared ancestry, a lineage, therefore, as in a family or breed (a distinct tribe, a generation, common occupation, or once even to a classification of wine types); e.g. the human 'race', specifically or generally. Aryan indicates a social distinction, along lines of inheritance, job prospects, or supposititious gene-pool characteristics. A race of aristocrats then, as a certain, more or less internally regulated, form of 'society'. Thus US America's WASPs (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant), an in-crowd of the In-Crowd, fitted the bill - perhaps less so today where being Monied, Accepted, Privileged, Promotable seems to be the rule of the well oiled but slammable door to 'power'.
When the nazis spoke of ARYANS they meant DARYans. Also known as HYPERBOREANS. Mythical utopian GIANTS who are friends whit GREECE Interesting the Word Russia literally means the realm of Boreas
Light skin being associated with nobility could be to do with nobles not having to go and work in the fields etc, and so not catch the sun's rays on their skin. Someone with lighter skin, even a stranger, might therefore be assumed to be somehow noble, in a kind of backwards logic. It does seem to be something that occurs in many cultures and might be related to things like women wearing the veil in medieval and early modern europe, and in Islamic and other middle eastern and central Asian cultures. So if there is reference to lighter skinned Aryans, it may be simply a description related to this class-based phenomenon.

Not really. The people who originally invented the Aryan term and identity were almost certainly the Andronovo people, who were genetically European. These people then mixed with the Bactria-Margiana Archeological Complex(BMAC) and this mixed group then invaded Iran and the Indus Valley
@@दीपकनागर-थ5छ that's because most central and western Europeans are R1b. R1a is not the only "Aryan" haplotype

They are not indo Aryan.
True, Britishers were the real loots.
British, Germans and other Nordic peoples are the real ARYANS. Others like Romas and Jews are eternal enemy of the ARYAN.

Take this arabic poem: "It is not the brave young man that says "My dad did!" it is the brave young man that says "I did!""

Caucazian is most beatiful and inteligent peoples in Earth
It had nothing to do with purity or beauty. They were obsessed with skull shapes and found that the skull shape they most closely identified with the white race was that most typified by people living in the Caucasus region. Of course today we understand that that is pure nonsense.
@@brucetucker4847 The Caucasus as the origin of humanity and the peak of beauty
In the eighteenth century, the prevalent view among European scholars was that the human species had its origin in the region of the Caucasus Mountains.[22] This view was based upon the Caucasus being the location for the purported landing point of Noah's Ark - from whom the Bible states that humanity is descended - and the location for the suffering of Prometheus, who in Hesiod's myth had crafted humankind from clay.[22]
In addition, the most beautiful humans were reputed by Europeans to be the stereotypical "Circassian beauties" and the Georgian people; both Georgia and Circassia are in the Caucasus region.[23][22] The "Circassian beauty" stereotype had its roots in the Middle Ages, while the reputation for the attractiveness of the Georgian people was developed by early modern travellers to the region such as Jean Chardin.[22][24]
Christoph Meiners' 1785 treatise The Outline of History of Mankind was the first work to use the term Caucasian (Kaukasisch) in its wider racial sense. (click on image for English translation of the text)
The term Caucasian as a racial category was first introduced in the 1780s by members of the Göttingen School of History - notably Christoph Meiners in 1785 and Johann Friedrich Blumenbach in 1795-it had originally referred in a narrow sense to the native inhabitants of the Caucasus region.[25]
In his The Outline of History of Mankind (1785), the German philosopher Christoph Meiners first used the concept of a "Caucasian" (Kaukasisch) race in its wider racial sense. Meiners' term was given wider circulation in the 1790s by many people. Meiners imagined that the Caucasian race encompassed all of the ancient and most of the modern native populations of Europe, the aboriginal inhabitants of West Asia (including the Phoenicians, Hebrews and Arabs), the autochthones of Northern Africa (Berbers, Egyptians, Abyssinians and neighboring groups), the Indians, and the ancient Guanches.[36]
It was Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, a colleague of Meiners', who later came to be considered one of the founders of the discipline of anthropology, who gave the term a wider audience, by grounding it in the new methods of craniometry and Linnean taxonomy.[37] Blumenbach did not credit Meiners with his taxonomy, although his justification clearly points to Meiners' aesthetic viewpoint of Caucasus origins.[38] In contrast to Meiners, however, Blumenbach was a monogenist-he considered all humans to have a shared origin and to be a single species. Blumenbach, like Meiners, did rank his Caucasian grouping higher than other groups in terms of mental faculties or potential for achievement[37] despite pointing out that the transition from one race to another is so gradual that the distinctions between the races presented by him are "very arbitrary".

Aryans, derived from the original Sanskrit word Arya, means cultivated educated person, according to Sri Aurobindo, used to have very high moral standard with great regard for truth, promise and hospitality. Their sages, or Rishis, after many years of meditations and learning, derived some great ideas or hymns(Riks) on God and universe.
Recent DNA evidence shows that Europe experienced a massive population influx from the east, beginning around 4,500 years from the present. Several haplo-groups were involved in this expansion, including the Indian-origin R1a1a. This was almost a total replacement event, which indicates that Indo-Aryans, among others, expanded westward into Europe and to a large extent replaced indigenous European males and their Y-chromosome strata (Sharma and his associates, 2009)
This genetic evidence indicates that several Y-chromosomal (patrilineal) lineages, one of which was the Indian-origin R1a1a, gave rise to the modern European population. Out of these lineages, R1a1a is the most widespread and numerous.

It proves that:
1. The R1a haplogroup originated in India.
2. The Indo-Aryan people have lived in India for at least 15,450 years, which invalidates the theory that the Indo-Aryans invaded India 3,500 years ago.
3. The hundreds of millions of members (possibly over a billion) of the R1a family living across the world today - a very large fraction of humanity - are all descended from one single male ancestor who lived in India at least 15,450 years ago.
This discovery demonstrates the close genetic (and hence linguistic and cultural) affinity of Indians with the Russian and Polish people, the Vikings and Normans, and with the ancient Scythians and Tocharians, among many others (Sharma et al, 2009).

Whether we like it or not racial alignment is one of the strongest forces in the world and has been the cause of perpetual confrontation, wars and discrimination between different people speaking different languages from the time of creation till today. You can see it everywhere. It is singular, crude and inclusive. Outsiders literally have no place in these racial circles. It is exclusively for people of a single race. I am a supporter of the Invasion theory. I am also working on the decipherment of the Indus script. There are more than a thousand Indus sites in north-western part of the Indian sub-continent. Many of the ruins are almost intact even after 4000 years. The foundations are so strong that you can reconstruct houses and make them livable.
@Aurangzeb, Corona E Azam You have said some amazing things. I really wish the people in the south are the descendants of the Indus people, but unfortunately no one has any idea who they really are even though they speak more than twelve languages and no one refers to the Indus people as their ancestors.

Thank you for clarifying. I could never reconcile the differences between Germanic and the people living in today's Iran. How can they both have a claim on being Aryian. I also appreciate to have learned that the reference isn't to distinguish a particular race. How very noble.
Indians have the most claim of the title Aryan, it was used by indians first.
@@IndoManiac90 Too bad you were not alive to claim the rights to the word when Germans claimed it. The Indians were also sleeping when Iran claimed the name Iran. BTW, while you are at it, do take a look at a few dictionaries to see the translation of the word Aryan. Most say Persian boy. At any rate, it really doesn't matter.
This is also my understanding of the term, and as you observed, it fits with other Indo-European groups as well.
Aryans were those who offered 5 times prayers daily, in the direction of Athens.
@@parjanyashukla176 Not a good choice. Persian/ Greek wars have ended. we live in 21st century.

Performing Agni rituals. Memories the Vedic hymns as in ancient oral traditions are few of the Vedic customs which we have been following. The Sanskrit is our language and we are the only true authentic descendants of the Vedic Aryans. Those who don't follow the Sanatana Dharma can not be called as Arya.
