That's true of several "Old World"/Eastern Hemisphere societies. Cleopatra was closer in time to us than she was to the Pharaohs who built the pyramids. I'm sure there's an equivalent in China, but I'm not sure what it would be.
Neolithic/bronze age civilizations tended to last much longer than subsequent iron age ones. This happened in South Asia, but also in Levant and Europe. The shift was mainly due to the domestication of horse cca 3.000 BC, then apparition of chariots around 2.000 BC and radical changes in warfare brought by them.

The Indus Valley place names are relatively recent. ‘Mohenjo Daro” was a local name from much later local inhabitants. The name Mohenjo Daro translates into “Ghost Town” or “City of the Dead”.
Like Medina Azahara in Spain (City in ruins in Arabic) Didn't know the meaning until an Arabic speaking colleague asked me why did I say "City in Ruins"
There're also theories that it is "Mohan jo Daro," meaning "the mound of Mohan." Also, the common spelling is Mohen, not Mouan, in Sindhi Mu-an means dead, Mohen is no word. Mohen jo Daro would mean "The mound of Mohen" not "the mound of dead".

"Shared History of India and Pakistan" is not an accurate description . History of India (or Bharat) is more than 5,000 years old starting from Early Indus Valley Civilization and at its peak under Emperor Ashok Maurya (3rd Century BC aroundish) , the Mauryan Empire (Hindu[Chandragupta Maurya] to Buddhist [Ashoka Maurya]) spanned over modern day Afghanistan , Pakistan & India. Indo Aryans came from Southern Russia Yajurveda 13/37, "O wise men, learn from the sages of old, who are hospitable, like charioteers who harness their horses, who are well controlled by the skilled, and who have seated themselves on the seat of justice." Here the Vedas ask to learn from the ancient sages, that is, there were ancient human civilizations when the Vedas were written. Then I saw who were charioteers, horsemen. As we know, Ratharohana, i.e. the chariots was invented long after human civilization The oldest known chariots have been found in burials of the Sintashta culture in modern-day Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, dated to c. 1950-1880 BCE
Sinauli, India had chariots at the same time as Sintashta. Sinauli is one of the earliest archaeological sites in the Indian subcontinent that provides evidence of chariots and royal burials with warfare elements during the Ochre Coloured Pottery (OCP) and Copper Hoard culture in the Ganga-Yamuna doab, more than 4,000 years ago. The material culture recovered at Sinauli indicates that the Sinaulians were involved in warfare activities. The antiquities recovered show a high degree of sophistication in wood and copper craftsmanship. Eight burials have been excavated so far. Among them was a unique royal burial with a copper-decorated coffin with legs, and a lid that featured high-relief carvings of anthropomorphic figures. These figures wore headgear with two horns and a Ficus religiosa (sacred fig tree) at the center. The figures, besides having detailed faces, were depicted with broad shoulders and torsos. This burial also contained two chariots, a copper pot, a helmet, two stick tops, a copper channel, a copper-decorated whip, gold-steatite beads, and pottery, suggesting the individual was of royal status, possibly a chief or clan leader. The discovery of three full-sized chariots in these royal burials suggests warfare took place in the region. The chariot wheels were decorated with three rows of copper triangles radiating from the center. This discovery indicates that Indians were using chariots, helmets, and swords in warfare more than 4,000 years ago. Additionally, the recovered items include antenna swords with wooden hilts and copper spiral wiring
@@Kalki0025 The distance between these two place (Chelyabinsk and Sinauli) is over 4400-5600 km even on todays roads, which is huge. and takes 40+ days of walking time without stopping, to make it, so with 8 hour walk per day it takes 122 days or longer. Chariotry could have developed simultanously as well... Or there could have been a civilization that domesticated horses, and spread fast with this military advantage. But even then 100-200 years feels really fast to get this distance in actual ways of domestication, so i feel simultanous discovery is more reasonable...

Dravidian people migrated from ancient Iran. My grandfather worked in India between 1961 and 1992. In the early sixties, he, my grandma and my father and brothers and sisters went to Lothal. I don't know exactly where that is. Anyway, they were playing by the banks of a creek and found lots and lots of little statues. My Grandpa took one of them to the city hall, not really knowing what to do, and told the staff there that they had found these small statues (terracotta) by the creek. They they didn't seem very interested and apparently nothing happened. My grandpa first kept that one statue, it was really tiny, and later felt bad and donated it to a museum in Paris. Probably not the ideal situation. But it's kind of weird also that the local government in Lothal didn't seem to care. To be honest, my grandpa thought they probably sent someone down to the creek and had the statues sold on the black market. It sad how archaeological things get dispersed.
1. 15:40 - Really curious to know which year this map is from when India and Burma are part of British empire but Pakistan is a separate entity... 2. Overall a good video but you need to update theory of decline about IVC. New research and findings suggest that the IVC was actually more concentrated towards the Ghagra Hakkar river system (aka Saraswati) which eventually dried up and therefore made the people migrate towards Gangetic planes. This is based on the finding that majority of IVC sites are based around Ghagra Hakkar not Indus river i.e. around 2/3 of the total sites found so far. This also goes along with the mention of the river Saraswati in Rig Veda in its prime, thereby, indicating that the IVC itself was the Vedic civilization and it has existed much before the proposed 3500 BC since the river that vedas talks about supposedly started drying up around after 4000 BC.

Over the next decade you can expect to see this approach become more commonplace as Pakistanis have started to value their own history. And secondly, even tho India has more IV sites than Pakistan, 90% of all cultural artefacts and evidence of IV culture comes from the sites in Pakistan. This is evidence enough for historians to suggest that Pakistan was the cultural and historical centre of the Indus Valley, and the sites in India were merely extensions to the actual important sites that are in Pakistan. This is why many historians believe either Harrapa or Mohenjo Daro to be the capitals of the civilisation and not any Indian site. The IV also extended into Afghanistan and Iran. Pakistan is the IV centre. The culture and civilisation centred around here. Plus over the past decade or so Pakistan has made no progress in excavating new sites - and I’m sure if Pakistan poured resources into this it would easily have more sites or larger quantity and quality. All in all it’s irrefutable that the IVC is mainly ancient Pakistani history, and as time goes on and more and more historians start accrediting ancient Pakistani history as ancient Pakistani history, we’ll see this perspective become more commonplace.
@@BananaConnoisseur my dear bheemte, to decipher a script, you need some text, long texts to match the context. But in case of IVC there is only 1 slab of 1 line. You can never decipher it! Got it mr gyaanchand?

We, Indians, are the living continuation of the Indus Valley civilisation. We are the Indus Valley people. Don't bring in Pakistan into this matter, as it is only 75 yrs old, simply because Mohenjo daro and Harappa happens to be in modern day Pakistan. The Pakistani people are mixed central Asian, persian and Turkic islamic descent ( except may be the people of Punjab, and Sind), and have nothing to do with Indus Valley Civilisation. They are relatively recent muslim immigrants, who have displaced the Hindu population of the place eastwards, in the last 800 years of Islamic rule of India. We, Hindus, living in India, are the original Indus Valley people.
Lol You are trying to say that majority punjabis and sindhi who make 70 percent of Pakistan's population are not decedent of the this land and came from somewhere else and a hindu living in bagal and asam or kerla or Goa or somewhere else in india thousans of miles away is actual person of this land just because he is hindu??
@Farooq_Tv exactly. That is what population displacement is. It happened to the Indus valley people when so called Aryans came from Northwest. It happened again with the arrival of muslim Turks and Aghans after Mamud of Ghazni's conquest of Multan, Punjab and Sind reinforced further after annexation by Mohd of Ghor ( in fact, colonisation started from the time of Bin Qasim in the 8th century). Resident hindu population was exterminated just as it is being done today in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Those who survived, fled eastward or southwards.
@@arijitmukherjee1719 Genetically, there are more Bengali and Punjabi Muslims than Hindus or others. Every tribe that exists in Hinduism also exists among Muslims, sharing the same DNA, complexion, and origins-only the religions differ. This has been proven multiple times. The only distinct group in Pakistan may be the Pashtuns. If we combine India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the surrounding region, there would be more Muslims than Hindus. So, who truly owns this land? We belong here, and no attempts by governments to kill or displace us will succeed.
Genetically Dravidian language speaking South Indian agricultural castes such as Velamas, Kammas, Reddies, Thiyyas, Vellalars show the most proximity to ancient Indus Valley DNA. However there is a concerted effort to appropriate this history from Pakistani and even North Indian nationalists. Truth cannot be hidden.

@ulrichkristensen4087 Bro , First understand that Ancient Iranians and Indo European language Steppe pastoralists were different group . But before entering Indian Subcontinent Steppe pastoralists stayed at Iranian lands and started to adopt their names like " Arya " even Religious & cultural heritage That's , why Anicent Iranian Religious book called " Avesta " has close similarities with Rigveda
If we look at the cultural and religious practices of the Harappans, we can observe the obvious and immense influence it had upon the Vedic religion and the Indian civilization in general. The practice of worshipping Mother Goddess, the discovery of Pashupati seals and Lingas throughout IVC sites, the worship of animals and pipal trees are all still alive in the practices of Hinduism which is a syncretism of the Vedic religion and the elements of the Harappans. Pakistanis, prior to they try to appropriate the Civilisation, should realise that the roots of these practices have been weeded out in their modern nation-state whose very existence is based on an Arabic religion which considers the practices of the Indus people as ignorance.

That's true of several "Old World"/Eastern Hemisphere societies. Cleopatra was closer in time to us than she was to the Pharaohs who built the pyramids. I'm sure there's an equivalent in China, but I'm not sure what it would be.
That's true of even T.Rex who lived closer to us than earliest dinosaurs in its timeline. Mind boggling stuff!

Like Medina Azahara in Spain (City in ruins in Arabic)
Didn't know the meaning until an Arabic speaking colleague asked me why did I say "City in Ruins"
Mound of the Dead

It was and still is known as the mound of the dead by the locals as in the site itself
There're also theories that it is "Mohan jo Daro," meaning "the mound of Mohan."

Anyavrata - someone with different (anya) vows (customs)

This video feels amazing as I watch it along the banks of the Indus in Pakistan today. Ancestral histories are amazing.
This was all before Islam even existed. History of Pakistan starts from only 1947 because Pakistan is primarily just people of Indian religions who were forcefully (or not) converted into Islam & their descendants later demanding a nation of their own where Islam would be the main & (these days) only religion.
Please do not claim Sindhi history. Just because we are muslim does not mean our blood changed

Yajurveda 13/37,
"O wise men, learn from the sages of old, who are hospitable, like charioteers who harness their horses, who are well controlled by the skilled, and who have seated themselves on the seat of justice."
Here the Vedas ask to learn from the ancient sages, that is, there were ancient human civilizations when the Vedas were written. Then I saw who were charioteers, horsemen. As we know, Ratharohana, i.e. the chariots was invented long after human civilization
The oldest known chariots have been found in burials of the Sintashta culture in modern-day Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, dated to c.
Aryan invasion theory has already been proven wrong .

What is sources of your claim. DMK.
@@cbadaik9498 Not just DMK say that, plenty of credible research organizations say so like Usborne, BBC, and Oxford.
The original dravidians speakers were light skinned. The Darkies in south india have very little dravidian blood despite speaking dravidian languages. It is like African Americans speaking the english language It was not their native language in the first place. In short, South Indians have only a little Dravidian blood.
@@theawesomeman9821 my friend Aryan invasion theory is just fake , indus valley civilization wasn't destroyed by Aryan attack , most of historian believe it was natural cause of its end
Dravidian people migrated from ancient Iran. These proto-Iranian farmers Dravidianized ancient India and also influenced Hinduism or animistic religions that existed alongside the hunter-gatherer populations there
The impact of Dravidian migration on the region was possibly more significant than later Aryan migration to southern India. Dravidians may have displaced the Andamanese tribes. Old Tamil shows similarities with the Elamite language.

Modern historians are changing the way they look at the history of South Asia wherein ancient Pakistani history (which evolved distinct to the Indian lands history) is being given its own credit and context.
Answer this. If IVC is a Vedic civilization then why can’t the IVC script be deciphered? What mental gymnastics are you gonna pull off lmao

However there is a concerted effort to appropriate this history from Pakistani and even North Indian nationalists. Truth cannot be hidden.
Aryan theory is false
Incredibly grateful to people who are looking into our culture away from racism, thankyou 🙏🏼💓
Thanks for the video it was good
Pakistan is just a imaginated country found in 1947. Whereas India has history of 7000 years. So think before telling anything. Harappan Civilization or the Indus valley civilization was the first ever civilization with all basic facilities in the world. That was the starting of India/ Bharat.
Lol
Sindh and punjab are the Backyard of Indus Valley civilization, we Sindhis are true inhabitants of Indus valley Civilization why you indians are crazy for being part Indus Valley
@@nature_educationthey are good at coping and jeeting
Thats why they are called poopjeet
@@nature_educationbecause everyone knows pakistan seperated from India and people of indus valley civilisation worship idols
@@Kamel718better than to be a terrorist
@@Kamel718 you know the people from indus valley have no connection to north indians or pakistan right? South indians are genetically similar to indus valley people as they migrated to south india after the civilization collapsed. South indian retained most of the culture and traditions while you shits got converted and fxcked by invaders.. don't claim south indian history as your own mr pakistani.
Incredible insights! Your approach really makes complex ideas feel accessible
Pakistanis are claiming that civilisation but in reality people of indus valley civilization people are dark skinned less taller people than Indo-Aryan northern indians and pakistani. They are more similar to southern indians
Test the DNA of bone
Wrong..see dna report of Rakhigarhi site..Indus valley civilization people were majority Iranian hunter gatherer with some South Asian hunter gatherer dna. Whereas South Indian have majority south Asian hunter gatherer dna(60-85%) with Indus valley dna just (35-15%) and Stepe dna(15-5%). North Indian have Indus valley dna which is 65-85% and Stepe dna 35-15%. North Indians have twice Indus valley dna than south Indian. The height of Rakhigarhi men is 5.9 and female is 5.7 ft. This is average height not small. Average height of Yamnaya men from Russia were also 5.9 ft who were ancestors of Vedic Aryan tribe. Skin colour of Iranian hunter gatherer was brown and may be south Asian hunter gatherer were dark or maybe brown due to living in sub tropical area for 50000 years.
Wrong as a Pakistani Punjabi I did a dna test with illustrativedna and 56% of my dna is from the ivc and I’m very light skinned and tall
@@samuraimo759the highest proportion of IVC DNA is found among Tamil Dalits groups at about 80%.

I live nearby Mohen Jo Daro, the epicenter of Indus valley civilization that flourished in sindh, currently under Pakistani control.
We are still a peace loving nation .still free of religious bigotry though ruling elites want to change our ideological convictions of peaceful coexistence by funding mullahs. Even this moment hundreds of Sindhi activists, man and women , fathers and daughters ,are being arrested by the police in teen talwar roundabout of Karachi، our capital city .
Take care of these places, those ancient people-built cities and civilizations with less resources. It is marvelous
@@matheenarif8645 unfortunately the govt isn't interested in it's preservation and further excavation. An equally large city lies buried dozen of Kilometres away but it hasn't been excavated yet . It's magnificent stupa is in ruins now . A brick kiln factory has been established on the ground nearby which is causing destruction of ancient remains below 😭
Facts, Ruling Elite is just creating Problems, Sindhi and Punjabis aren't fighting nature Civilians that's why they are not taking a stand against them unlike Pashtons and Balochs,.
Absolutely loved this video! The content is so engaging and well put together. Can't wait to see more!
Can you also make a video on the Gandhara civilisation?
Thank you for covering our ancient history. 🇵🇰❤️
Bhikaristan 😂
Its Indian, not pakistan. Indians share more dna from indus valley civililization than pakistanis according to recent studies.
How can you claim this if you don't share any culture with us?
@@AyushDew7 with you? Who tf are you to claim Indus Civilization? You belong to Ganga, we are the sons of the indus valley. It's civilization and history belongs to us.
Just look at the region of indus, not even 10% of your country comprise of Indus. Only north western part of your country relates with us. Otherwise your nation is totally different from us. You belong to ganga, we belong to indus.
@@hariskiani9601 kid genetically & culturally you have no connections with Indus valley civilization they didn't have any Aryan dna in them but Pakistanis have almost 30% Aryan genes. Genetically people of south india, gujrat, and Middle caste people of central India are closest to IVC because later after flood they migrated to coastal parts of India. You guys are living there doesn't mean your ancestors are from ivc
Wow what a masterpiece ❤️🔥❤️
Thank you King's & General's 🎉😊🎉
Thanks!
Genetically South Indian farmers such as Telugu Reddys and Velamas are the real descendants of Indus Valley. There are IVC periphery DNA samples which are nearly identical to Reddys. Chief ministers Revanth Reddy and Jagan Reddy of Telangana and Andhra respectively are two of the most famous from this group.
How can we check or learn about DNA ancestry to ancient groups? I mean where is the source
The DNA of a Male skeleton founded in Indus valley site of Rakhigarhi . Which was ( Classified as '" I4411'' ) shows affinity with present-day South Indian tribal populations , most notably the " Irula Tribal group " population in the Nilgiri Mountains of kerala and Tamil Nadu . A total of 61 skeletons were found till 2016
@@mscreationworks5787It collapsed when the Indo Europeans or rather the Indo Iranians arrived
@ulrichkristensen4087 Bro , First understand that Ancient Iranians and Indo European language Steppe pastoralists were different group . But before entering Indian Subcontinent Steppe pastoralists stayed at Iranian lands and started to adopt their names like " Arya " even Religious & cultural heritage
That's , why Anicent Iranian Religious book called " Avesta " has close similarities with Rigveda
@mscreationworks5787 Indo Iranians, came from the same source as the Indoe Europeans, same language group and DNA
