This has been the most helpful video i have watched! I just started making bath bombs and purchased the ornament molds, every single one of them cracked down the middle. I am looking into metal ones now. I also found that i was making my mix too wet and the bath bombs seemed to expand while they were drying. Thank you so much for the awesome video!
I was in such a bad mood when I started watching this, but between your chattin and those wind chimes I am hooked...Thanks for the pick me up and the wicked awesome BB recipe :) I had to sub....Peace and Light!
Just made these! I'm excited to see how they turn out. I did use essential oils instead of the fragrance oil, but I am looking into getting some fragrance oil ( I also used avocado oil instead of olive oil, because that's what I had on hand). The instructions were great, and I can't wait till I finish drying so I can give them as gifts! Edit: going ahead, I will not be doubling this recipe. I just don't have enough molds, and I'm hoping that sealing it in some Tupperware will keep it long enough for the first batch to dry.
you are sooo awesome. I am a new subbie who wants to be a soapmaker. I find your personality very sincere and honestly, it feels like I am standing right there next to you as you share your love to the art of soaping. i will be checking out your etsy shop and making a purchase. please never ever stop sharing your knowledge with us on YT.
Thankyou for showing us how to make bath bombs, i have tried and failed so many times and after copying you with the whisk method, iv finally made one that looks lovely and it works! Im chuffed to bits, i thought i was never gonna do it xx hi from the UK xx
I buy mine from a place that sells to restaurants. 3kg baking soda £2.99 and I get 10kg citric acid for £20 on line. Actually they sell baking soda too and it's the same price as the one I buy. Free delivery too. Want the link?
Do you recommend the oil in this still due to trips or can it be left out? Also if I use a water soluble die does it need to be mixed with anything to disperse properly?
It will also depend on humidity. I usually have to leave mine to dry for 48hrs but I live in a humid place. Look up weather apps for humidity. I try to wait for days that are under 60 % humidity. Its supposed to be 40% but that hardly ever happens here lol. The fridge helps them dry out faster too. Hope this helps!
Hey there! I love watching your videos! They are very helpful! I am VERY new to making bath bombs so fingers crossed it is not a disaster! 🤞🏻🙈 MY QUESTION IS: How do you figure out what to charge for bath bombs, salt/sugar scrubs… etc… I am not sure where to start with figuring it out. Thanks so much!!
Have you ever used mica powder to dye your bath bombs? If so, can you offer some tips in using micas? I seem to have a far better time using them over food coloring. Thanks!
Very nice video! Thank you! When I finished my bath boms they looked perfect, I was so proud! But the next day all of them where crack. Is there any way to make new boms with them? What do you think I did wrong?
I wondered if you have ever used a food processor for blending? I have an old one that I am not using for anything else, and thought it would cut down on the dust.
I just made these the other day and I let them sit for 24 hrs and it sunk to the bottom of the tub and only lasted about 20 sec.....I also made the foaming bath bombs as well and when I put it in water they barely were foaming and it was just sitting on the water.....I also tried one of each when I fist made them(I let them sit for about an hour) and they did great but only lasted for about 1 minute (I used a 2.75in metal mold) any tips would be greatly appreciated!
thank you for the video, I will try using the metal mold next try. I live in tropical country and has been 5 times fail in making bathbombs :( And also I wa using xmas ornament.
I'm using different shaped molds and having issues with the bath bombs coming out of the mold intact. It seems like some of it sticks inside the mold and I also end up with cracks. I live in Las Vegas so pretty dry climate. Do you have any suggestions?
it will still fizz for while if you take it out, but it will dry and could be used again. However the second time it might fall apart or not fizz at all. Bath bombs are generally a one time use item.
Hi there! First off, thanks so much for this! I'm determined to learn how! Question: I followed your recipe but since I wasn't using fragrance, I replaced that TBS with extra water, since I assumed it'd need the same moisture level. I added simply a few drop of EO instead. I molded them and wrapped with bands for one hour, but all of them immediately opened in two halves. Like a thick clay. Did I add to much moisture? So if I don't add fragrance, should i not replace that with the same volume? Looking forward to the help! Thanks big!
Cut back on the fluids. Subbing a bit more water if your not using any fragrance, which includes FO and EO is okay. Your climate might be a factor too if you live in a humid area.
Hi. Love your video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Can i know how much water did you use? and, can it be any type of water? Thanks in advance for your answer!!!
Traci Adi Fragrance Oil is diluted and way cheaper. The fragrance doesnt last long and it takes way more to get a scent. Some projects would be watered down by the extra fragrance. Fragrance oil is measured by teaspoons and tablespoons. Essential oil is extremely concentrated. They are beneficial for health reasons. I get mine at Edens Garden and Plant Therapy. Essential oils can be diffused or added to projects such as this one to help with colds and flue, and so forth. Very long story. Thank-you for your video! I have tried several recipes where I've added the liquid at a what I thought was slow pace. Every time I try to make bath bombs they expand out of the mold. But I also live in a dry climate. Aside from mixing vigorously, do you have any recommendations to help keep the fizzing at bay so it will dry all nice and molded?
Fizzing will happen when you put the fluid in no matter what. Just do a very little at a time and mix quickly until it is all mixed in. The bombs will be moist when you mold them. Keep them molded in a dry area. I recommend keeping one half off the mold for an hour, and then flipping it over for the other side to be exposed and dry for another hour. I will be making a new video about the bath bombs that show a different simple method and drying techniques.
You can also put one drop on at a time then immediately squish the fizzing drop of moisture to stop the reaction, then mix that moist drop of partially reacted powder to the rest. It is how I saw a scientist do it. With 15 ml of water going into a batch and every drop 1 ml.. that is a bit slower but might help with your dilemma

TYFS, I am newly searching to learn how to make bath bombs. Two questions, how long do they need to set to dry before putting in a package and second question how long can you store them ?
They can be stored for years if kept in a cool, dry place. Packaging should happen within a few hours after they are dry on the outside regardless how you package them. Even shrink wrap will still continue to let air in so they dry completely when wrapped. This also prevents the bombs from cracking if they dry too quickly in open air.
Your voice is so calming. I am going yo try your recipe. You make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing.
Have fun!
Thank you! You make wonderful videos. Very user-friendly and informative!

Your lovely, I can tell. Brilliant video. So real, so honest....so rare these days. Thank you for sharing your joy x
IT WORKED! Modified with meatball makers but they’re drying!
YAAAYYYYY!!!!
Being a guy, you have a male side & a female side of your molds. They fir together very well. Great video.
Nice video, I have a question don’t you need polysorbate 80, so water and oil combine?
No, you don't need that.
I love you!!! This is Great and your personality is warming and funny
Each of your videos are simple and amazing. I have learned so much. Thank you!
Your welcome.
Great video! Lots of great tips on how to put product into moulds & will for sure be using the elastics! Thanks! :)
You're funny, gal! lol
You made this video actually fun to watch! lol
~good on ya
If your workspace is not a complete mess, none of this is going to work - haha, so true 😅
I’m dying I can’t stop laughing
You are very good at explaining how to make bath bombs.
Great videos and very much appreciated!
I love your messy workspace tip. I work best among a bit of chaos too lOL
Love your video!!!! Very helpful
Citric Acid can often be found with the canning products ( Mason Jars etc.) at the local Walmart.
Thanks for the great tutorial and your fun sense of humor :)
Any time!
This was very helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the coffee tip! I did really need it.
This may be a stupid question but why not use a different mould to push down with ? Like they fit inside one another :/
You don't want to over pack them.
I see a lot of recipes call for polysorbate 80. Do you use this?
Rarely.
Wish we had a Walmart in the UK. You all seem to get such good bargains from there.

@@kelleyspartiatis4776 yes please.
I so luv your video ......do you have a printable copy for ingredients? Thank you so very much!
Sorry I don't. You'll have to write it down.
What is your opinion about using a silicone mold, like maybe a candy mold and pressing the mixture into those?
Some people use those, but it can be tricky to get a firm pack on the mixture because the mold flexes.
are you worried about the oily ring or is there not enough oils for this to happen?
I stopped using oils in my bath bombs because there's too much liability for slipping.
Hi, Can i use mica as colorant?
Yes
Can you provide information on the fragrance oil angel wings...where can it be purchased?

just found you and love it! I have a question. Is there a reason you don't use epsom salts?
It's optional.
how do you get your bath bombs to not become flat while drying? a few of mine went flat a little on the bottom
Keep them in half the mold when drying.
Do you recommend the oil in this still due to trips or can it be left out? Also if I use a water soluble die does it need to be mixed with anything to disperse properly?
Dyes like that don't need to be mixed. You ca leave the oil out, but compensate with a little more water.
Hello when can you it after it dried?thank you😀
Right away.
Can you tell me how long you let them dry (after removed from the mold) before you wrap them in plastic?
A few hours
It will also depend on humidity. I usually have to leave mine to dry for 48hrs but I live in a humid place. Look up weather apps for humidity. I try to wait for days that are under 60 % humidity. Everyone is different. You need to figure out the cost of materials and the price things go for in the market where you are.
Have you ever used mica powder to dye your bath bombs? If so, can you offer some tips in using micas? I seem to have a far better time using them over food coloring. Thanks!

I wondered if you have ever used a food processor for blending? I have an old one that I am not using for anything else, and thought it would cut down on the dust.
I don't see why that wouldn't work. It may interfere though with the amount of fluids used since it would make the ingredients a finer grade.
Thank you!
Do you use the slsa foaming agent? Or any other agent to make bubbles?
Nope.
Great! Going to try and make them.

What is the difference between fragrance oil and essential oils???
Traci Adi Fragrance Oil is diluted and way cheaper. The fragrance doesnt last long and it takes way more to get a scent. Some projects would be watered down by the extra fragrance. Fragrance oil is measured by teaspoons and tablespoons. Essential oil is extremely concentrated. They are beneficial for health reasons. I get mine at Edens Garden and Plant Therapy. Essential oils can be diffused or added to projects such as this one to help with colds and flue, and so forth. Very long story. Essential oils are measured by “drops.” Do not rub highly concentrated essential oils on the skin.

Coconut oil will solidify below 76 degrees. I have not tried it personally, but I think it would turn the bomb into a greasy mess that wont work. There's only one way to find out though.

What is the difference in soap dyes and food coloring??? I know the food coloring can stain but why doesn’t the soap dyes???
Because they are made for soap and body products.

What about essential oil, how much of that if you can’t use fragrance oil?
About the same or maybe a little less. It depends on how strong the EO is. You be the judge.
Can you sell bath bombs made with soap dye or Mica? Do the colors need to be Batch Certified if you are going to sell the Bath Bombs?
You can sell with certified skin safe micas and soap color in the USA. I'm not sure about other countries.
Could you make cubes out of the extra left overs
Sure you could. I use any leftovers as a bath fizz soak.
is olive oil needed
No, you can omit that but add a bit more water.
@@DesertCloudSoapworks thanks for reply👍🏾
do i have to add Epsom salt
This recipe was designed for a certain amount of dry and wet ingredients. If you omit the epsom salt, they won't turn out right and will be too wet.
you could probably use regular salt. it wont have the magnesium muscle relaxing effect but it will replace it fine.

Adding another dry ingredient will throw off the moisture ratio. You'll need to experiment on the right balance to do that.

5-6 dollars is the most people will pay
It all depends on the size and what it costs you to make one.

Even shrink wrap will still continue to let air in so they dry completely when wrapped. This also prevents the bombs from cracking if they dry too quickly in open air.
