    I feel like I should pop out a disclaimer for anyone who has pet cats and wants to use these peppermint products in their bath. Peppermint is SUPER POISONOUS TO CATS. Scrub out your bathtub REALLY GOOD if your furry ones like to jump into it (maybe even deny them access entirely)! I once used a peppermint extract and soap mixture on my porch to ward off spiders and wasps from building nests. That stuff works awesomely because it sticks to the wood and the smell drives them off. What I didn't realize is how long it can stick around and be reactivated because a year later when i was washing off my porch peppermint soap water came raining down on everything. Not too long after my outside cats started dying out of no where. We lost several. It wasn't until much later I learned that peppermint was toxic to them and put 2 and 2 together. I was devastated. Please learn from my mistakes and protect your fur babies from peppermint! Use peppermint oils responsibly and always double check that your oil won't cause harm to your animals!

    • @dreamer6432
      @dreamer6432 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@nevin1180 Why wouldn't you? Cats are naturally outdoor animals. Mine would go crazy if I kept him inside

    • @nevin1180
      @nevin1180 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@dreamer6432 Dogs are naturally wild but you usually don't see dogs roaming. I don't like when people let their cats roam because I've seen injured cats and thought they were strays but find out that they are just roaming cats. Last roaming cat I saw was a cat with it ear almost off it's head.

    For the bath bombs try adding the citric acid very last. after every thing else has been mixed together, this way the citric acid wont react. Then you never need to waist time slowly adding the liquids.

    These DIYs look super fun to try!
    Question: What do you recommend is best for preserving the sugar scrub?
    Would it last longer to store it in the fridge after using or adding safe preservatives to it?
    How long approximately should the sugar scrub last before becoming old/expired?

    Question: On the peppermint salt, could you substitute the peppermint for vanilla extract?

  • @jessica0456
    @jessica0456 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the baths salts, you could use a coated red mica, that way it won’t stain, and it could potentially be slightly shimmery, depending on what you use.

    hello, i still hope you get these comments. loved your tutorial! love the ingredients! just 1 question. for a bath bomb, could a person use these ingredients from your sugar scrub....
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1/2 tsp Cinnamon
    1/2 tsp Cinnamon
    1/2 tsp Nutmeg
    1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
    1/2 tsp All Spice
    and put them in with your bath bomb ingredients, omitting the fragrance from your bath bomb?
    i am just not comfortable making a sugar scrub that i know people will be putting wet hands into it when in the shower. now it will go bad, not good
    thank you
