This has got to be one of the best DIY videos I have ever seen. Simple to understand and great results presented in a fun and friendly way. Thank you!!! We now carry bath bombs in our product line with your help!
This is the best bath bomb recipe that I have used so far. There are 2 things that made them turn out well for me: spraying the liquid ingredients does make a difference. Also , I did not realize that citric acid comes in a fine powdered form. This works really well for me because I can pack the mixture in a lot tighter. Mine turn out perfectly after sitting in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Thanks for the great recipe!
Mint bath bombs are extremely common and popular since it feels cooling on the skin, with the little amount of oil in the actual water, it won’t burn. Cooling, maybe, burning, no.
It would be so fun if you guys swapped video themes for a week. Brooke could cook, Elle could DIY, and Meg could do a day in the life! Or Elle could cook, Meg DIY, and Brook a day in the life!
She meant don't put it in a small container on the counter because it will over flow, which is hazardous if you have a wooden table or floor (like she does).
Another thing you can do to prevent premature fizzing is to mix up all the ingredients minus the citric acid. After you have combined the wet and dry items, add the citric acid. The mixture is still moist, but not wet enough to cause a big reaction.
+Nikol xox idk what prices are like where you live, but for me at my local walmart: baking soda: 1-2 dollars, depending on size of box cornstarch: 1 dollar epsom salt: 2-4 dollars, depending on brand citric acid: 3 dollars caster oil: idk didn't buy it lol, but baby oil is 3 dollars essential oil: 4 dollars. according to my math, if you use smaller molds, you can get 6-10 bombs per batch. i'd say $17-20 to make your own bombs beats ~70 bucks at Lush
Definitely made this with 1 TABLESPOON essential oil like was said in the video and I couldn't get my mixture to stop expanding lol. It ended up being too wet. I read after that it should be a teaspoon...
Mine tooooo!! Was it the oil? I used food coloring in a gel texture... is it wrong also? And cups, omg, in my country we use grams as a measure... tried to convert but I don't think it was right... 😔
LOL that was me I wanted to see the animal too! I guess it's going to have to sit in the water a little bit longer dang the luck.. LOL!! But I'm absolutely making these not only for my kids but to sell and just for fun along with body whips and everything else you know the whipped body creams the whipped lip balm homemade soaps etc
It also depends where you live. The humidity in the air means some places will need to use more liquid than others. Also if ever your bath bomb goes wrong or won't come out the mould (my first batch worked perfect following Soap Queen) but my second batch disaster as I tweaked the recipe to try and make it a bit different and they won't come out the Moulds so I've crumbled them up and layered them in colour stripes in a jar to use as Bath Salts that you sprinkle into your bath as it will still fizz & smell nice as it's got all the Bath Bomb ingredients in but just not in a neat ball shape. They actually look really nice. Saves wasting all those ingredients. I finished off my jars with matching coloured twine and hand stamped label saying what it is-very vintage and great gift. Only thing is I had to break my moulds tho as they were well and truly stuck. I don't use corn starch and recipe I follow uses witch hazel NOT water as WH doesn't activate the mixture like water does. Definitely check out The Soap Queen!
***** this recipe is foolproof!! the only trick is to pour the liquid in very slowly and whisk after every little bit...you can also try putting it in a spray bottle :) xx B

This recipe is AMAZING!! I tweaked the oil I used and it turned out so wonderful! Will try the castor oil on my next batch! If I wanted to infuse goat milk power.. how much would I add and how much would I increase the oil?
Everyone says the same "add the wet to the dry slowly to keep from activating the bomb". I've made these for years- if you just add the wet ingreds to the baking soda in a separate bowl,THEN add the baking soda to the rest of the dry ingred, it'll save you this headache 😊
Made these tonight with 2 kinds of bath bombs-- citrus and rose. I put one in the fridge for 30 minutes and it did get hard! Not completely, but I will wait a day or 2 and check again. Also-- because it has been raining all day and we had a Tornado warning, the humidity is most likely to blame, but I was not able to use a full tablespoon of water. I could only use 1 tsp, actually. I tried ed it with a full tablespoon, but the mixture kept expanding and popping the molds open. So how humid your work area is plays a big part in how much water you can/can't use. Otherwise, awesome recipe!
This recipe works perfectly !!!!!!! Thank you so much. I have been trying to make bath bombs for about three years. i finaaly did it thanks to you !!!!!!!!!!! God Bless you !!!!!!

Can I have some advice. Just tried making these and used the exact recipe and when I put them in the mould they start to expand and push the mould open.... also the mix Is getting wetter and wetter. Did i activate it by accident? How can I fix it? I tried adding more dry ingredients and it's still happening. I only added the wet a teaspoon at a time too
This happened to me just now too. I think her recipe is wrong. I think she says to add a tablespoon of essential oil when in fact she only does a teaspoon. I’m going to try it again using only a teaspoon.
Dina fawzy i have no clue... i saw other videos where they used a water-lemon juice mix. i'd say just try it and if it doesn't work you know that you can't do it 😅

Andrea Miller the problem is she says to use 1 tablespoon of essential oil which is WAY too much!! Her recipe says 1 teaspoon not 1 tablespoon and that's why yours is too wet. I did it 3 times before I realized the problem 🙄
this is a great recipe, however it took me more than once to figure out you should not be using 1Tbs in the wet mix! you only need 1tsp! I used 1Tbs as instructed the first time and the bath bombs ended up expanding in the mold and were not able to be used. 1Tbs of water is way too much it "activates" them. I tried again with 1tsp of water and they turned out great!

Oh man i wish I read this before making them 🤦🏻♀️ i hope the castor oil i used isnt too sticky

I'd avoid the peppermint oil. It can burn your more "delicate areas."
Lol
Mint bath bombs are extremely common and popular since it feels cooling on the skin, with the little amount of oil in the actual water, it won’t burn. Cooling, maybe, burning, no.
I agree with Daniel. It made me SUPER COLD IN A WARM BATH TUB. And the castor oil is hard to get off.
It CAN burn if you have really sensitive skin. If you water it down it shouldn’t though.
I made some today with this recipe. Instead of the peppermint oil I used lavender with lavender whole flowers and it smells sooo good.

What happens if you have extra mix left and no mold? How long will it stay good before it hardens?
Do you need citric acid? I have eyerything else
Scarlett_Smiley use lemon
Salima Sahraoui it reacts with the soda so no lemon man 😂
Love that! Need to make these, those bath bombs are $4.00 each per bath. Could also put small Dollar Tree toys inside too for gifts, make pink for girls, blue for boys. I plan on making a bunch of these.

I'll have to try this. I like the idea of adding the expanding capsule animals. I'm planning to make hatching dinos for my kids' birthday party.
مدري شسالفة بس المهم الولد والأم كيوت مره 😂😂❤️🇸🇦
HAH the swearing at the end. Lol. Nice video!
I was so surprised your container didn't overflow. Until I watched the end. :-)
I just tried it and it works!! Love this simple recipe❤
lol ok so I followed this recipe 100% and my mixture was not that dry.. ugh . I'm going to try again
try adding the water gradually. you might not need the entire tbsp.
Kimberly Armstrong thanks chick! I'm going to try again
Andrea Miller the problem is she says to use 1 tablespoon of essential oil which is WAY too much!! Her recipe says 1 teaspoon not 1 tablespoon and that's why yours is too wet. I did it 3 times before I realized the problem 🙄
Kalli Linde thanks chick... her bath bomb looked perfect and I just got discouraged and gave up lol.. I'll try again.
Andrea Miller do just 1 teaspoon of essential oil (or just drop 10-20 drops in) and it'll turn out perfectly 👍
this is a great recipe, however it took me more than once to figure out you should not be using 1Tbs in the wet mix! you only need 1tsp! I used 1Tbs as instructed the first time and the bath bombs ended up expanding in the mold and were not able to be used. 1Tbs of water is way too much it "activates" them. I tried again with 1tsp of water and they turned out great!
+Kendra Vorhies Flores SUPER helpful info!! you just saved me a TON of headaches!!! thanks SOOO much :)
"With a budget" says the woman living in a house that's probably 6 times the size of mine.
It really worked and helped me in my school project thanks a load❤😊👍it really works🔥
A tABLESPOON of essential oil??! Because gurl it looked like you put in a teaspoon
and a tablespoon of water??? - mine fizzed in the bowl and I only put in half the liquids - nothing like a sandy texture
That’s a lot of peppermint!
she meant teaspoon lmaoooo
That is the first time I ever heard her curse
Isabella Rivera hahaha I rewatched the video just so I could hear it... but the beeped it out
