    1:20 YES -- The Woz, the OG co-founder, the genuine Engineer, "I was impressed with the demos, I always am, but I still believe strongly you should try it and find out." Despite his wealth and Apple as basically his child, he's still telling the public to not fall for the hype, that real technology matters. I mean, he's positive and excited about his own company, but amazingly he's still reminding the public to look beyond the hype. Of all the original Silicon Valley tech titans from that 1970s era, The Woz is the best and most decent.

      4:27 Absolutely, and just Woz taking all that hype and putting it into relation with an almost 30 years old product, the Newton PDA.
      I remember watching a coworker using his Newton back in 1996 on a daily basis, very impressive back then.
      Compare and contrast to current LLMs radicalizing us politically and socially, recommending glue for Pizza and a stone every day to keep the doctor away.

    • @alanmcrae8594
      @alanmcrae8594 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Amen! Woz is the actual engineer that made Apple's original products. The creator that was pushed stage left by the marketing salesman who had the charm & ego to grab the spotlight. I love that he is still the creative & enthusiastic, but savvy, computer user who knows that demos almost always look great, but the real world is when you try to use it in your daily human life.
      Woz has always been the true friend of the computer user community, and he was always about user empowerment, not a closed proprietary system designed to trap the user on a tech plantation. Unfortunately, the proprietary route won out and Woz was stiff armed to the sidelines. But those of us who were around when the Apple II came out know that Woz insisting on all those expansion slots truly empowered us to dive into personal computing and customize/innovate as needed.
      Thanks Woz! Much love & respect to you brother. And thanks for continuing to tell it like it is. We can always rely on you for an honest review with wise advice...

    • @Superz3ro
      @Superz3ro 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@alanmcrae8594 Well, we know how the alternative route worked, because of Microsoft and PC manufacturers like Dell. Apple is the company it is today because of that Marketing Salesman with the Charm & Ego to grab the spotlight…

      Computerized artificial intelligence is going to help to draw for us a really thick line between what a computer can do and what humans are actually good for.
      Like you know we live and die, we are mortal and we've got our own perspective based on that. No computer kind of incorporates that risk into its Hey Siri responses.
      Poetically I think AI is going to encourage us to be more human.

      I call AI (or in German KI) Textl-Mächtl… or software bot hanky-panky. Computers have never, ever displayed intelligence in any way, shape, or form. AI models are becoming like Search Engines, with ChatGPT being the modern Google with many people using it in their products and services.
    If Apple wants to capture the market, they should start developing their own AI and implement, as AI is in the early stages, before it gets to expensive for Apple to catch up.
    Like making a competitive search engine for Google, it’s to expensive to make a Search Engine as good as Google.
    These days AI coming to smartphones is like smartphones having access the internet (like Safari) from the very first iPhone.
    So lets see what the future holds for us!

    It will take much more than Apple announced they have added, or "come up with". All they did was announce they are using ChatGPT and an image generator, just like Google, Microsoft and Meta announced months ago. So much for Apple innovation.

    I think Apple has laid the foundation with their hardware for AI to work better. Just as Microsoft is now looking at new PC hardware for their AI. Apple is walking cautiously into the AI space, because they always have a more user experience focus, rather than just being first.

    Woz is honest with his thoughts which is dangerous for the marketing and sales team. Customers may not like his thoughts, company may fail to progress. That's why Apple needed both Steves. One is best at making things, the other is best for presenting things.

    Simplifying the interface would be a great benefit. Rather than a patchwork of different apps and screens, just the voice interface to state what you want and perhaps clarify some. As long as it doesn't deteriorate into a voice equivalent, where you have to navigate verbally through a maze just like today, just aural instead of visual.

      I mean, to be fair, Apple has been on that train since the early 2010s at least, since they added dedicated acceleration for it all the way back 7 years ago to all of their devices. It just took them until now to really overtly promote that they were using it.

    Great explanation - it will make me an APPLE 🍎 owner to assist in my teaching work. On the other hand, most of the talking heads, although rich, had no idea what they heard and little understanding of the hardware (Apple silicon with neural networks) and the software to use the power in the silicon.
