- My dog Chopper and I were on a walk when a pitbull attacked him. This is our story of how the attack happened and how Chopper is doing now. I also want to use this to remind pet owners how important it is to train, socialize, have proper gear, and be able to handle their own so they can keep everyone safe outside.

I’ve lost a dog to an attack like this. His name was Buddy, he was a super sweet little Shih Tzu pup. He was attacked but a pitbull mix (not sure what kind) and had to be put down because his muzzle was completely destroyed. I have ptsd from this event as I was the only one at home (no adults only my super young brothers) and I have continuously had flashbacks of this traumatic event. I sincerely hope your fur baby heals up well Good luck and much love 🩵
I'm so sorry, this is the worst thing to replay in your mind... Have you thought about getting help from a therapist to help you work through this horrific traumatic experience?
I'm so sorry that happened to you
aw. I swear I used to know a dog same breed named Buddy go to the same park as me when I used to walk my dog. And the same thing happened to that dog
i m so sorry even i have a dog i should also stay safeabout this
@@evyedelman4297im so sorry💔 RIP Buddy, God be with him, you and all your families, friends and loved ones✝️🙏🤍
As a pet owner, I cannot imagine the trauma of this...
If you own a dog, it is your responsibility to train, socialize and care for them.
I am 12 and always ask to walk my dog, now I know why I should wait till I am older, we have really never socialized our dog properly, so she is incredibly skiddish and could attack, you never know, as much as she is sweet with us, she might not be with a stranger.
It's good to note that! If you're worried, there are training manuals and tutorial videos you can find online that help give step-by-step instructions on how to help communicate and work with dogs that have issues like that. Just going for daily walks can help, but I like to do things like clicker-training and such to build up trust bonds. The more the dog trusts you, the more the dog will default to you when startled/scared/anxious (meaning less likely to act out and more likely to run TO you than away).
If you're worried about attacks, looking up the ways you can pre-empt or stop an attack, spot an aggressive dog before they get close and looking up what sort of tools you can use to break up a fight or help block an aggressive dog from coming in to attack will help.
I usually carry a stick of some sort (one of the firm rubber chewbones thats thin and you can grab solidly also works as long as it has a thin/small end) to use for prying apart jaws, if need be, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT unless you have had some sort of training and/or are an adult with a weight that could rival a larger breed dog. Putting hands near a chomping jaw isn't advice I want to give lol
If your dog weighs more than 40lbs and has shown any likelihood for pulling you over or getting aggressive, its best not to walk the dog alone even if you're older than 12, unless you're confident you can handle the dog at their worst.
If you haven't done so yet, I do recommend getting in on the walk with your guardian/parent, though! That will help you see what the dog is like on walks and in other environments... Make sure the dog gets at least 1 walk a day for and at least 1 hour of activity/play/training total per day to help with anxiety and behaviour, since some problems come from lack of structured stimulation. :)
@@bakaichigo Thank you, you are so sweet!
It makes me feel sad 😭
Sorry about your experience… Are you allowed to use YT at your age??
@@dklc28 Yes!
The fact that the dog attacked unprovoked from so far away is an extreme reaction. No way this is the first time this dog was aggressive. I’m so angry at the owner, because that dog will end up being killed itself after it kills someone else’s beloved pet. It all could’ve been prevented by training, proper equipment (that leash is a joke and reactive dogs need muzzles for everyone’s safety), and an owner who can physically handle their dog. I’m so sorry this happened to Chopper and you. Take care of yourselves❤
I agree!!
Agree. W the addition of the retractable leash
First of all a lot of pit bull attacks are by rescue dogs. A lot of dog for small amount of money. Chow and pit bull are two of the most aggressive dogs in the world. In order to avoid injury to dogs or people I carry bear spray. No dogs get injured and no vet bills. The other dogs owners get very angry but I tell them to go wash their dogs quickly. Lowers the drama. Here is nothing else you can do about stupid owners but try to avoid hurting people or dogs. I walk a large CO and don't risk killing other dogs (yes even put bulls). Police are mostly interested in making sure rabies are not involved as death rate for people not treated in time is 100%.
Pitbulls should be banned scary they are dangerous
I don't agree with you in total. I have a LGB cross und despite training and having a dog sibling, he is agressive towarts other dogs. There is no lack of training from my side, he has his own agenda. He is smart, he acts normal during dog training but once outside without a trainer he is an a55. So he wears a muzzle to keep every dog and himself save.
A RETRACTABLE LEASH??? On a big dog? On a clearly reactive dog??? Insane.
Poor Chopper. What a beautiful, sweet boy he is. You have wonderful pets and I am so glad Chopper is on the mend. I hope he doesn't have trauma from this ❤
Retractable leashes are horrible on all sizes of dogs. I recommend to never use them..
not reactivity, aggression.
@@kittysennpaii97 They are okay, if you can control your dog with your voice. If you wouldn't let your dog off leash, they you shouldn't have them a on retractable.
@@mythirlmaidenReactive dogs can be aggressive, fearful, or friendly. Reactive is a multi-use term.
Retractable will not work with a big dog
I am a dog walker with multiple pit bull clients. This is a list of failures on the part of the owner, first off using a retractable leash on such a powerful dog. All pb’s i walk have a strong leash and either have a harness with an extra handle on it so i can grab them if necessary, or a prong collar (not my favorite, but some dogs unfortunately are only responsive to that). I myself have been attacked by large dogs, and my own dog was mauled as well. You did everything you could in the situation and i am happy to see that chopper is doing well.
We have an 80 lb black lab girl, her neck meat is so thick she don't listen to any leash pressure except with a prong!
@@noelleelizabethan NEVER use a prong collar, they're SO dangerous. Invest in a good harness designed for heavy pullers before it does any permanent damage to her throat.
@@ignightroadharnesses do NOTHING for a dog who pulls. I have a dog who only responds to a prong bc of his high drive. A prong may seem dangerous but a reputable branded one isn’t bad at all, all dogs are different and not every dog can be trained using positive reinforcement.
It happened to me, too. The owner was three seconds from her home and decided to let go of the leash. My dog and I turned the corner, and it ran toward us. It bit my dog, but luckily it wasn't deep. I'm traumatised, so now I carry an airhorn and dog pepper spray, and we don't get near any dogs, no matter how big or small.
We need to socialize and desensitize our pets especially dogs!!!!! You're only harming the wellbeing of your own pet by generalizing that all dogs are harmful. Your pet could eventually become the reactive one even. You don't solve the problem by avoiding it.

I'm 75 and have a 95lb Catahoula, Jackson. As the owner of a large dog whose breed is known for being aggressive, it's my responsibility to make sure he is properly trained, has the right collar and leash, and is socialized. I have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars training him. He is fully off-leash trained, but I'm still careful around other dogs and owners. Whenever I've run into a problem with another dog, it's always been with an owner who was not willing to put in the work to train and socialize their dog. So glad to see that Chopper is recovering.

I also have a Shih tzu and this is also one of my worst nightmares and this is why I’m always so aware of every dog that is around mines
What's really scary is that while most dogs will give warning if they're going to bite, pitbulls tend to just run up with their tails wagging and attack.

@@user-vj3co7kl7h Akitas can hold their own, too. But they're not a good choice for everybody.
I would often pick up my small dog if I saw other dogs, but back in May 1986, while walking my mini-dach, Mitzi, in a park, she was suddenly grabbed by a vicious (unleashed) pit bull who seemed to come out of no where, and picked her up in its jaw and flung her around violently. I still remember the sheer terror I felt and Mitzi screaming. Long story short: Mitzi pulled through after going through emergency surgery but was left with a permanent scar physically, and I suspect emotionally, too. All these years later, I still remember the horror of the incident.
I love how even though chopper was the main target, he still protected you and guarded doors, and follows you, I hope he gets well soon and that you can file a lawsuit suit
Had a lady in my block walk her dog without a leash (illegally). The dog was probably about 5'6ft tall if it stood on 2 legs. It saw my 2, 10lb dogs, about 40 yards away and starting running towards us aggressively. I knew it was impossible to outrun a dog, so all I could do was try to get between it and my 2 rotisserie doggos. The lady was some small ass lady that couldn't control her dog at all. She threw her entire body on top of it trying to hold her dog down to no avail. I'm just sayin, don't own a dog you can't handle. This shit is so irresponsible. Glad Chopper was already looking in good spirits after just 2 days 🙏
100%!! Do not own a dog you cannot handle. So irresponsible and scary. Imagine he did that to a child and not another dog.
similar story to me, the owner was 4ft and couldnt get her dogs mouth off my shih tzu's neck for so long
I'm sorry but did you just call your dogs your rotisserie doggos? That had me on a giggle, on a serious note I hope it never happened again and y'all are okay.
Facts! It pains me to hear these kind of stories as a big dog owner myself. I would never allow my wife to handle our dog since my dog literally eats more than her - for the safety of everyone including my own dog who could suffer the consequences if anything ever occurred.
I hope your dogs healed well! This is so true. It is a major responsibility, you are literally raising a living animal !
Thank you for sharing! It's really important that people train and handle their dogs properly. So many folks don't seem to think it's a big deal and then stuff like this happens. Wishing for a fast recovery for your pup.
Pittbuls are strong dogs, she was probably too weak to handle it. you can't expect dogs to be trained in a matter of one day, just because you see one walking in the street doesn't mean its fully trained.
@@AutumnStuds-nc8rr Wow you're everywhere trying to justify this. You even left a 2 paragraph comment saying it was Hang's fault. News flash if the owner was too weak to handle the pitbull she shouldn't of adopted them in the first place.

@@AutumnStuds-nc8rr IT DOES NOT MATTER. Would you be okay with a dog mauling you because they were still in training.

As a momma of a Pittie (the sweetest girl you can ever meet), I am so so sorry you and Chopper went through this.
I am a firm believer that ALL dogs regardless of breed should be trained. As an owner, it is your responsibility to have control of your dog at all times. This was clearly a bad dog owner and I’m sorry that your fam suffered for their shortcomings.
This!!!
I grew up with a dog aggressive St. Bernard. We walked her with a choke collar because of it and kept the leash short.
The only times it was an issue is when off leash tiny dogs would charge her and make her feel threatened.

my dog has recently hurt a dog and it’s really important for the owner to apologize, talk it out, and to the damages are fixed. I hope chopper is going to be okay!! I love dogs smm ❤❤
IMPORTANT INFO: if a dog bites another dog, grab both back legs from the biting dog and lift them high up in the air as fast as you can. There is a mechanisms in dogs that opens the mouth of the dog. Also you don’t get hurt yourself doing it
Thank you for this!! I have always wondered how to stop dog attacking other dogs ! Now I am prepared !
This doesn't work, it's an urban myth. You can watch videos of cops trying this and utterly failing. A determined dog will not let go. You need to grab the collar and pull tightly until the dog releases or passes out.

I've had pitties for years and raised my kids with them. What a lot of people don't really realize is that you have to continually reinforce that initial training with them over and over. My boy now is 15 years old and going deaf and blind, however we still work with him regularly so that he stays safe. It's for his protection as much as for others. It really is a true commitment, for their entire life if you have a dog.
Trash person detected.
You’re a very responsible dog owner. I love pitties but agree, they need excellent training & constant reinforcement to ensure good behaviour. Unfortunately, those that don’t do so, just add to the prejudice that many have about pit bulls. Not blaming people for feeding that way. I would too if my dog were violently attacked. However, it makes me sad that a few badly/not trained dogs can really turn many of a certain breed.
💯 agree.
I have known several owners of pitbull, well trained and responsible the problem is not the dog but the time and constant commitment to educate it, I do not have a pitbull but a male border collie and the principle is the same

Besides that as just proven in this situation, you might not be able to control your pet once they decide to go after something or someone once it’s happening…and if not leashed it can go south very quickly.even if the dog is on a leash if it outweighs you or is bigger than you are, you’re success rate of controlling the situation is very slim if it decides to attack simply on size alone. So please, anyone considering getting a dog, keep in mind that size and strength matter a great deal in those kind of situations and get a pet dog that you can handle easily. If she can't control her pitbull, then she shouldn't be taking it for a walk. Those dogs are dangerous !!! And owners should take responsibility of their dogs
Pit bulls are not dangerous dogs and yes if she cannot control her dog, she should not be taken out on a walk, but with the proper training pit bulls can be great animals
Clearly she didn’t do any proper training. To attack a dog so far away and unprovoked is extreme, so it was probably not the first incident. At the very least she should have had him on a proper leash, harness, collar and muzzle. With this gear she was probably not working with a dog trainer either … honestly people like that don’t deserve dogs.
Yeah, I know one who doesn’t know how to control the dog and then they don’t properly socializing is a dangerous thing, because that could put so many things and put people in danger, including that person because if you don’t have a hold on your dog and your dog doesn’t have walking etiquette for a leash, you could be screwed and tons of bad things that happened to another thing I would like to add this can happen to any dog any breed it without the proper training
@JR-zm5uw And by the sounds of it, she couldn't put his harness on
@sushibeanss
You're extremely naive if you think pit bulls can't be dangerous dogs. Yes, pit bulls can be great dogs, but they can also be extremely dangerous dogs. My sister's pit bull grew up with me and is a fantastic dog, however she can be extremely dangerous if she wants to and has killed a cat in the blink of an eye that got into the back yard. She has never killed another animal before. She was never abused or had a bad life, never under fed. Pit bulls just have a VERY high prey drive and when you pair that with being poorly socialized, you suddenly have a dog that can be very dangerous and unpredictable. Just being good to a dog like a pit bull is not enough. They need persistent, thorough training and socialization.
as a dog owner, that walks their dog regularly...I’d recommend to anyone that uses a retractable leash to be aware of how long you extend it. I use the non-retractable leash which is completely normal and okay to my dog, he doesn’t get hurt at all with it and doesn’t get suffocated...but just to be safe make sure to NOT extend your pets leashes too long if you have a retractable leash for the sake of your pet and other pets...Praying for chopper and you guys to recover safely!
Oh and just a thing...this totally isn’t the pit-bulls fault. I think that it just really needed to get trained properly and socialize with other dogs to lose it’s aggressive thoughts.
@@Hophop_shuji It is both the owner and pitbull faults. Pitbulls were bred to fight, they aren't suitable as pets. The owner's fault is to own a dangerous dog and not take care of it properly. But you cannot train a pit out of its instincts. And pit owners should be aware of that.
A pitbull is dangerous, an ignorant owner makes it twice as dangerous.
@@Isariamkia Woah, You can't just go around saying all pitbulls are dangerous. Maybe try socialising with one first. This is clearly irresponsible ownership.
@@user-rq2vi3fe4g They're OK until all of a sudden, they aren't. Google Drué Parker. There are a LOT of cases like that. If the owner had any idea what those dogs were going to do, they'd have never let a four year old near them.
These things happen out of the blue and people who aren't realistic about pitbulls never see it coming.
@@IsariamkiaThat is false, 1 several ex fighting pitts have been successfully rehabilitated, 2 pitbull is an umbrella term that covers several breeds of dogs. And many non pitbull type dogs are mistaken as pitts.
I’m so sorry. This is literally my worst nightmare. Wishing you and Chopper speedy recovery ❤️🩹
I’m so sad I can’t even imagine your suffering and Chopper’s. I hope he gets better soon and thank you for sharing your story. I think is so important to be aware or understand this can happen, for owners to be more responsible. I was walking to the store that is around our house when the neighbors pitbull scape and I had to pick up my daughter and run. He/she got distracted but other dogs and nothing happened to us but it was so scary. I got attacked at 6 years old by a Rottweiler which I can remember it was so traumatic that I couldn’t be next to a dog for years doesn’t matter the size of the dog.
I HATE the dog owners who don’t put collar and leash on their dogs for walk🤬😡😡it’s their responsibility!
I’m so happy that Chopper survived 🙏❤🙏
One time, a big mixed breed dog came to attacked my chihuahua and I kicked his nose to let my baby out of his mouth, took my baby to the vet and got treatment. Yes, the big dog’s owner paid for everything! Still I was pissed😤😤😤
Not surprised it's a pitbull - we have a problem with owners just having no idea what they're doing with their pets. Poor chopper, must have been terrifying :( Hope he makes a good recovery!!
Be suprised because it’s not a pitbull do more research on apbt
@@Dunno_NiaIt was a pit bull Hang said so in this video so you do your research.
She assumes it's a pitbull.....all you ppl need to stop hating on this breed. They are fantastic dogs, love their families......pretty sure her chow chow is a fighting dog breed aswell.....chow chow are just as dangerous as any other breed you wanna center out.
@@Dunno_Nia Pit bull is now an umbrella term for bully breeds and mixes, especially in the U.S. They didn't specifically say American Pit Bull Terrier, when people say pit bull, it means all bully breeds that were bred for fighting and bull baiting. Also, in American, the AKC doesn't recognize the APBT but changed the name to American Staffordshire Terrier, only certain kennel clubs recognize the APBT, such as the UKC where you can even dual register them as APBT and AmStaffs. Hope this helps! The typical APBT in the U.S. is often not registered and even the AKC acknowledges their tenacity even under extreme pain. Which you can see in hundreds of videos of these dogs attacking, they just don't stop. Even the pit bull who attacked the horse with the carriage, he was kicked so hard he flew under the carriage and still went back for more, eventually dying from the damage it received. Other breeds would let preservation of themselves kick in and run away after a decent kick from a horse, but pit bulls lack that and that is the difference between them and other breeds because genetics do matter. A herding breed herds, a retriever retrieves, a pointer points and pit bulls are relentless fighters. This is why it is crucial not to spout lies about nanny dog this and nanny dog that, strong handlers and not first time dog owners should be the only people getting these breeds. The Bernards is another example, they had two American Bullies/Pit bull type dogs they had raised for 8 years, were avid pit bull supporters, raised them in a loving home, spouted about how it's not the breed but the owners and then the day happened where both dogs attacked and killed the toddler, ripped the 5 months old from moms arms and then turned their attention onto mom and she survived with severe damage done to her. Find a story of a poodle or golden doing that to their own family after living in the home for 8 years. Friends of the family said these dogs showed no signs of aggression prior to this either, they were sweet loving dogs, until they weren't and the mom could not save her babies from their tenacity. These dogs should be leashed, muzzled and contained at all times. Owners get them under the guise of them being family pets, they are large breed of dog that were meant to kill things, like most terriers were. Even Jack Russel terriers were bred for killing, and I grew up with JRT's. No matter how much training there was, they would still kill a rat if given the chance. Pit bulls were bred to kill large animals. You can't just turn off instinct and genetics.

Praying for a fast recovery dear Chopper ❤❤❤
You are so brave for sharing this all our hopes prays and wishes are upon you ❤
im truly grateful that you and Chopper are fine and healing!
I’m quite new to your channel. I cried during the entire story. I’m so sorry that happened to you and your cute doggie. My older husky was attacked by a young very big boxer. He got a hold of her belly and just started ripping her to pieces. Four surgeries, other appointments, and over $2500 later our beautiful Mia was starting to heal. I don’t blame the boxer but I do blame the owner. His dog wasn’t even on a leash. Our dog was never the same. I really hope that your little cutie heals both mentally and physically. You are a great pet mama. I wish you well and I hope that all of you stay happy, healthy and safe. Much love from Colorado ❤😊
You are absolutely right. That was 100 % the owners fault. If someone cannot handle their dog, then they shouldn’t have that dog. This pisses me off. That person should be fined. I hope that was the case.
I hope you and Chopper recover quickly and be safe.❤ you’re so brave
That’s awful! Something similar happened to my dog, it was also a pitbull and his mouth was almost entirely over our dog. You could only see his tail and a bit of his head. but before he could do something he was pulled off if it weren’t for that I don’t think he would still be with us today. These people let their dog walk without a leash and had had incidents before and after this one they still let him off the leash where he could hurt another dog. The place they let the dogs loose is also nearby a school with young children. I personally am always very wary of pitbull dogs, since they have been bred to be more aggressive or atleast were commonly used in dog fights. But most importantly because most pitbull owners take them because of this reputation, don’t train them at all and are careless.
Yes, exactly! Pitbulls aren't bad dogs, people just see them as dangerous and some only get them for the status of having a stereotypically scary dog. They don't care about the dog.
my goodness I started crying watching this bc I cannot IMAGINE the level of trauma this would inflict. I appreciate you so much for ending off by advising pet owners to be more responsible bc that's exactly what needs to happen to prevent these types of incidents. there aren't bad dogs, just bad owners, and unfortunately a lot of bad pitbull owners... I am so sorry this happened to you and chopper but so happy it wasn't worse and that you and him are ok 🥺❤️ for anyone who wants to protect their dog in a situation like this, I came to learn that choking out the attacking dog is probably the only way to get them to release. I've seen the finger up the 🍑 method but even that doesn't work, and of course easier said then done, but you gotta do what you gotta do to protect your fur baby. stay safe 🙏🏼
When I saw you're dog in the background I was so relieved that we was ok and you're so strong for going through something so hard and trying you're best to talk about it, it's hard because I feel how chopper felt 💔
I'm glad you both are okay! I hope chopper has a quick and smooth recovery❤❤
Thanks for sharing this and educating people to train and socialize their pets. We are with you .... Hope you and chopper feel better soon.... Hugs and prayers❤
I own a reactive pit mix and I am truly sorry that this was your experience. And you are right hun it is the absolute bare minimum to be able to handle our dogs as owners. It is our responsibility for the dog’s safety and others as soon as we bring home a puppy. It doesn’t matter the breed you are responsible for your dog. At 10 months old my boy was attacked by a shepherd mix, a yellow lab and an Australian shepherd. The first dog took his puppy hood and forever changed him. I want you to know that there are owners out there that actually care for their dogs properly and for others safety. I’m glad your pup is ok and in recovery, please keep an eye on his body language, his confidence and how he acts toward others. Bring him at round safe dogs when he is ready.♥️
I have a pitbull, and I agree that you have to train them properly. She is so sweet. Thank you for not blaming the breed!❤
I hate pitbulls been attacked 4 times
I'm so sorry sweetheart 😞
They come out of nowhere like 😈 demons
@@MaryPetrauskasWhy are you replying to yourself? Wtf? Are you that lonely?
I feel you though..
@@MaryPetrauskasBECAUSE THE OWNERS DON'T TRAIN THEM. Any breed can attack and be aggressive. Go to a shelter and look at all the sweet pitties.
You and beautiful chopper didn’t deserve this 😭😭 I will pray for both and so glad you are both safe.
It's so terrifying and jolting when this happens to our companions....I've had it happen several times, even when owners tell me that their dogs are fine off leash, but won't come back when they're called. I started watching the video but it brought back too many sensitive memories, so I'll have to try another day. Wishing your baby a swift and full recovery (both physically and emotionally).
Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you and your pup are healing.
Takes time physically and mentally so be well.
i cried so hard, i really feel for you and chopper!! wish you and chopper the best
I understand your situation completely. I have a chihuahua who isn't comfortable around other dogs, so I always take precautions to ensure his safety during walks. Once, while out with my dog and sister, we encountered a situation where a leashed dog was approached by an unleashed, larger dog. My mistake was not considering the potential danger, and a dog fight ensued. It was terrifying trying to protect my chihuahua from the unleashed dog. The experience was traumatic, and watching this video reminded me that I still need to address this ongoing issue.
May sweet Chopper heal with a speedy recovery. I can tell you are the best dog mom. Stay strong for Chopper.
Praying for you and Chopper to fully recover quickly both physically and emotionally!
Having been through something like this it is absolutely terrifying and I'm so sorry that you both went through it.
I am so sorry this happened to you. Something similar happened to my little chihuahua but thankfully she also survived. This was over a year ago and till this day I still have so much anxiety about taking her out for a walk. Now a days responsible owners are fleeting. I’m so happy he is okay.
I’m so glad you’re both safe i totally relate to this because my dog already been in this situation and this is an horrible situation to handle.
Support you !!!
A big husky killed our duck Quill, on May 1st. We are trying to share the same message. We dont blame the dog, we blame the irresponsible owners. But the pain is still so raw. His neck was snapped and he died so quickly. 😭 We are still recovering and healing. But nothing will bring our baby back.
Please please keep your dogs trained and on a proper leash so that these things dont happen to sweet innocent babies like Chopper and like Quill.
Yeah my mom seen 2 golden retriever digs running lose They went to the neighbors across the street. Killed one of their ducks. Then attacked another. We didnt wanna go in the guys yard. But we scared the dog off. But the duck coulsnt move. It sat there bleeding looking around. When the owner pulled up my mom told him about it. He said thr duck killed was his granddaughters pet. Said he told them not to let it out. Theyd be sad. The other duck he checked on. Said its leg was broke. Not sure what the owner did for it. Then the dogs were a few houses down trying to attack people chickens. It went from the ducks straight to the other peoples house. The one rooster was trying to fight against it. I went to jump my next door neighbors fence. Got stuck ripped pants. I yelled at the dog. My mom drove to chicken owners house. They scared thr dog off So they were all safe. Im sorry about your duck tho
Im so sorry this happened last month this same thing happened to us, but with the husky, the husky attacked my dog and my dog didn't make it. I just wanted to say that you were truly blessed to get through this. He is in my prayers.
Our chow got attacked by an aggressive staffy. She had puncture wounds on her nose and snout, and a broken tooth. She was very traumatised at the time, but with the love and care we showed her and because we went straight back out into the world once she was healed with the same confidence as before - our dog is happily just as social and fun-loving as ever. Chows raised with love and an active social life like yours bounce back. Sending healing vibes.
Thank you for sharing. I hope the both of you heal quickly.
I followed the story on Instagram and oh gosh I'm so glad to see that you're both ok. Take care.
All your animals - both the dog and the cats - are like your own children. I cannot imagine what you went through and to know that it left you scarred psychologically, i just cannot believe how strong you’re being on the next days following the incident.
I have a 2year old cat who had recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness the other day and I haven’t calm down yet. This got to me: you telling Chopper that you love him just resonates deeply with me. The thought of losing our baby is devastating and i dont know how I, myself, would feel if my pet got mauled by another animal😭😭😭😭
Wishing a speedy recovery for all: Chopper, you and your family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hang, Chopper, im really really sorry of what you guys went through. Animals and pet are a huge part of my life. It’s very devastating about what happened in this traumatic event. Sending prayers hope you and chopper can recover quickly with no more pain. ❤
Thank god You are both recovering well❤❤❤...😢😢😢 .... How irresponsable the other owner is!!!! It infuriates me so much!!!!..... Nobody should have a dog they cannot control... Sorry for My English it is not My first language. Sending You lots of healing and Blessings from Venezuela.❤❤
I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Dogs mean a lot to us and seeing that would’ve been so scary. I hope you and chopper are okay and i hope chopper recovers soon❤
Hello Hang, I'm new to your channel and that's the reason my comment is a little late, but id like to say that I'm so sorry this happened to you and your beloved Chow Chow, but I'm glad to see in the video that he's healing. We have an 80lb pitbull and a 10lb cat, and they get along just fine, but it's our responsibility to keep a watchful eye anyway. I hope you both keep healing physically and emotionally, thank you for sharing your scary experience. 🌹
I’m so sorry this happened to you. It is absolutely my worst nightmare. I have a small dog and i know she would not survive. My old dog was attacked and he was a big shepherd mix. I learned in dog school how to separate dogs and it worked so well back then. If they wear a collar you can take and twist it and pull it up to choke him out. They will have to losen their jaw to breath again, alternatively you can tie the leash around and do the same thing. Anyway i hope you’ll never need to do this.
Hey you may not see this but I do have a small Yorkie pup and a few years ago she got attacked by two pit bulls she had to get stitches and it was a long recovery but I believe that chopper will recover and be back to his normal self again!!! ❤
I'm so sorry this has happened to you, Watching this I felt fear and sadness just hearing about this, I hope you and Chopper do ok and I pray for Chopper to heal and feel better, This shouldn't happen to anyone and I hope this never happens to you guys again, God Bless you two ❤
You are so special! I’m so glad I found your videos. I’m so shocked to see that chopper got attacked . I hope that other dog is removed from the owner. She is too small to handle her dog.
I had an 18 mo old chow that was once attacked by 2 grown pitbulls. To my amazement, TeddyBear, put up a helluva fight n literally destroyed those 2 dogs. Luck, instinct...don't know but so thankful my boy was not hurt whatsoever. He lived until the age of 13❤
Thank you for sharing your story, very glad to see and hear that you both are recovering. Please also take time to heal and care for yourself as well, the trauma from an encounter like this is very real.
Your story reminds me of a time when my pup was about 10 months old, we were at the park doing some leashed training and minding our own business when out of nowhere, a golden came up from the side through some bushes. I recognized this golden, I have seen his owner walk him around on a gentle leader - and he seemed to still be very much in training. Apparently they decided to give it a try letting him play off leash that day - this is the first time I have ever seen this dog off leash. Just judging from the direction he came from, he had literally run across an entire open green space just to come to us. The dog sniffed some of our stuff that I had left on a bench - and we were actually walking away from the bench my pup was focused dead ahead at something else - and suddenly circled the golden around to come up to my pup, literally right up to her face and get territorial. I got between her and the dog, he would not back up, my pup was a reactive dog too (not aggressive but she is always very curious about other dogs and people). I was shouting at him trying to get him to back up, and honestly I was ready to punch this dog if I had to just to get him away from us. What were his owners doing? Slowly making their way up to him, calling his name, extremely lax, not a lick of urgency - and honestly it is appalling because I was straight up yelling and there was no way they could not have heard me. The golden eventually turned back when they were close enough, and the first thing they did was scold him. I was pissed, I really wanted to scream at the owners, and I probably should have, but I just wanted to get myself and my pup out of the situation. We were very lucky that the encounter didn't get physical, but I could sense that it could have really gone south if it had gone on any longer.
One of the thoughts that crossed my mind during this encounter was, 'My pup is only 10 months old, she's not even a year old. This is not happening today.'
We haven't seen that dog at the park since the incident. I hope his training is going well, and his owners a bit more responsible than before.
Im so sorry this has happened to you, sending you lots of love and i hope chopper is doing well 🫶
Wow! I’m so sorry. How scary. You are right, it’s not the dog, but the owner’s responsibility to train and social their dogs, especially “aggressive” dogs! Ugh! Poor Choppers. What a sweet baby. So glad he has you. Sending healing and loving vibes. ❤️🙏🏾
I hope you all are recovering well,I also really hope that chopper won’t have trauma from this accident, praying for a fast recovery!
I've experienced similar. A lot of people have. It's horrible.
I don't let pitbulls get anywhere near my dogs. Ever. Even if they've been "nice" so far. When you see news stories about people who were killed, the neighbors usually comment something like "I don't know how this happened. He was always a nice dog, we used to pet him."
The problem is that the breed was created purely for bloodsports. They were never intended to be pets, or to have jobs like herding or hunting. They were bred only to kill.
I just don't let them near my dogs.
This is so not true, maybe your gut is telling you that. Pitbulls aren't bred to only fight and kill. Try looking at pitbulls online and not all of them are bad. This is just pure BS and discrimination against the breed and i'm tired of hearing people saying OMG Pitbulls are only bred to kill and dog fight. Maybe it was true in the 1800-1900s but not now. THIS IS CLEARLY IRRESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP.
@user-rq2vi3fe4g the only thing pitbulls have historically been bred for is pitfighting and bullbaiting. Pit. Bull. I don't know what makes you say that has changed any amount, judging by the fact that pitbulls have killed 10x the amount of the next highest breed involved in fatal attacks.
I think you lack knowledge about pitbull. It's not because they were created for dogfights that they are all monsters. The breed is not the problem. It's the owners who dont train and educate them well. Staffie, Amstaff, pitbull, Doberman etc etc are loving dogs. They are family dogs if they are in a good and healthy environnement. Unfortunately you only remember bad stuff about them. There are 1000 happy families with loving, calm and easy going pitbull for 1 bad specimen. And FYI, small dogs are way much agressive and have more behavior issues than pitbull. Thing is : their bites can't kill...
@lilisixxx except for the countless instances in which those loving family dogs flip and maul someone. It's willful ignorance to ignore the fact that dog breeds were absolutely bred with purpose. Hunting dogs still know how to hunt. Retrievers still retrieve. Pointers still point. Bloodsport breeds have not forgotten their natural instincts to fight. No matter what you do that you think you have, you cannot remove the natural instincts from an animal purposefully bred into them.
@@lilisixxx And pitbull bites can and do kill. Other dogs tend to simply bite. Pitbulls maim, scalp, dismember, and kill. They account for the vast majority of fatal dog attacks. From 2005 to 2019, pit bulls killed 346 Americans, a rate over 6.5 times higher than the next closest breed, rottweilers, with 51 deaths.
I have never had to "train" any of my dogs not to maim or kill people. But my dogs are not pitbulls. And training doesn't eradicate genetics. You can teach a barky dog the "quiet" command, but they still have a strong tendency to bark.
As for the "1000 happy families with loving, calm and easy going pitbulls", they will still kill cats and other dogs given the opportunity. They'll tear through doors or jump through closed windows to attack an animal they see outside. They'll pull cars apart trying to get at some poor cat hiding in the motor. Plus there is always a strong possibility they will become human aggressive with little or no warning.
No thanks.
I pray everyone is doing well and healing ❤
oh my! im so sorry this happend. it reminded me of one day when we were at the dog park with my dog (he is just bellow my knees in height). an owner had a rescue dog and she warned us that it could be violent. they seemed to play just fine until the ladys dog attacked mine. luckily my dog has quick reactions and defended himself. none of the dogs got hurt luckily, but both of us took our dogs home. i must say, my dog was pretty shocked for the rest of the day, but the next day he was doing just fine. i hope chopper is doing alright!
Omg that was so scary! I’m so sorry you and Chopper went through that. I am praying for a nice and speedy recovery! I agree there are a lot of pet parents out there who are irresponsible and I wish people would look out and care more for pets and other animals.
