  • Like many others I jumped on the Pro-Mist train a few years ago and ended up not becoming a huge fan of using mist filters. Fast forward a couple of years when I got the chance to test the Nano X filters from Kenfaith which changed my view on diffusion filters a bit. Compared to my previous filter the Nano X filters keeps the image together and adds a more controlled diffusion effect over your image.
As an extra bonus you can get a kit of two filters for the price of one of the competitors.
So if you're curious about diffusion filters or like me want to give them a second chance - I would recommend you to check these out.

I like the fact that these filters preserve the contrast better, specially useful when using vintage lens like the Helios where you might not really want to soften the look further

      That's a good point!
Yes they really do a great job of keeping everything together nicely.

For me the 1/4 is the best All-in-One. The 1/8 gets almost no difference in direct sunlight takes, and the 1/2 is maybe too much mist

      I'm pretty much the same.

I purchased this maybe a year or two and they’ve doubled in price since! Wish I bought more 😮 they do have cheaper versions though which are also great.

Oh wow! Still quite a bargain though.
I was pleasantly surprised by the character of these ones compared to the Tiffen pro mist filters. Recently watched the movie Bullet train and noticed a similar type of diffusion used on a lot of the shots. I'll definitely use these now and then.

I prefer the results of the K&F Black Mist Filters compared to the Tiffen BPM. Then Tiffen has a more smeared/washed out look whereas the K&F looks cleaner and seems to preserve details better

This was quite a surprise for me too when I looked at the footage.

May I know if the Nano-X 67mm black diffusion filter can be used together with another 67mm variable ND2-400 filter? Just thread them together?

I've threaded mine on my vnd, but I'm not sure if the filter has front threads for stacking them in the other order. (At work so I can't double check at the moment)
