I'm just gonna say this in a Comment, not a video about this. I bought an Emove Cruiser recently. They really are amazing as far as the range-- as a 220 lb man who takes backpacks of heavy groceries on it, found it easily making long distances with plenty to spare. The one thing these scooter companies don't tell you is how exceedingly *dangerous* these scooters are. They have a lot of power and they are not real capable beyond basic suspension and two-wheel capability for dealing with anything problematic. You want to think as if you definitely 100% will spill out, crash, fall off, get knocked over, slip, etc. because when it happens then you will not get hurt or not badly. If you do not have helmet, kneepads, elbow and hand guards then you are asking for serious injuries. You want to take many many hours to get comfortable with this thing before you go in any bike lanes where there are cars. These are not as difficult as unicycles but they are not as easy to balance as a bicycle either! Take heed. I bailed on a bad city sidewalk step that had no warning. It sprained my shoulder, scraped my beautiful Cruiser and left me thinking very different about this experience. I had proper gear but not knee pads and now I will never ride again even on a perfect day on just a secluded bike path with pavement again unless I have full protective gear. Don't underestimate that part if you get one of these. The Cruiser takes some getting used to for feel (as I'm sure any scooter would). It's extremely durable and well designed, which is fascinating that scooters cannot be at this point because they are motor vehicles and really need an elevated safety standard. I do NOT like the index finger throttle which comes standard and will upgrade for $70 to the thumb one, once they become available again as they are currently out of stick. The reason is if you need to brake quickly, your mind can confuse the brake with the accelerator since they are less than an inch apart and use the same finger motion to stop or start. This in my opinion is a design which will not last for this reason, people won't want a trigger like a brake. The wide deck makes it possible for someone like me who extremely wide feet to be comfortable. The kickstand is heavy duty and very well designed-- lacking this can really suck, so kudos for a great job with it. The adjustable handlebar feature is excellent. It does have a propensity to be unstable if you are not attentive to the locking mechanism, thus you want to make sure before you get on that it perfectly tightened. I had to make adjustments on trips a couple of times before realizing how to get it perfect every time. There's no play on it, or noticeable play despite the adjustable height! It's fantastic. Many top brand scooters more expensive have a problem with wobbly joints on the stem for your handlebars! Emove took care of this beautifully and it's an important feature. At 23mph or whatever, you do not want a handle bar slipping down and turning some direction away from the wheel which stays in the same place? You want a locked tight bar for your safety. The charging is easy, they made a good cap for the under deck plug-in which is critical because going on bike paths for me forces me to deal with dirt, mud, grass, etc. that could get into it if there was not a nice fitting. This is another smaller issue but so important to just get right. If it wasn't there, you could have electrical issues and some scooters just don't concern themselves with that aspect. It does not necessarily feel like you think it would by watching these videos? You have to be very very attentive to all road or pathway conditions at all times. One obstacle in the road (particularly on a bike bath in a street with cars) can be highly dangerous, such as a wheel or a branch or a can or bottle, etc. right in your path. They do take turns very well and you can corner with them but that takes some skill. The technique you develop with these things takes time. You want to really get familiar with it in maybe 50-100 miles before feeling confident. The risk is so great if you fall off and crash the wrong way that it's important to deal with safety first. Once you get the hang off it, you find that you can lean, you can slant and do quite a lot of very intricate maneuvering. It can feel like you're surfing, you can get through tiny pathways, you can slink through some pretty short distance curviness on a path...but you won't want to try these things until you got the techniques down. Scooters that go past 25mph-- I wouldn't even touch one. They are SO incredible dangerous that my opinion is to get one with a max of about 20 and then using it with caution for a long time. If you bail at 50mph on the road, your life is in extremely serious danger and these scooter manufacturers do not hype up the danger of crashing factor. Obviously they want to sell them and you need to be safe on your own, but this is a serious point. 25mph is dangerous enough but if you get a racer, you want to be more than experienced, more than skilled, more than confident that you can handle every inch of that scooter without question about how to manage the handling. Overall, you are not going to get a better quality scooter with such incredible range, smooth ride-ness, durability, overall outstanding design quality. The range is so great that it can be used as a commuter but keep in mind it's best without a load on your back-- I had a backpack when I bailed from a horrendously bad sidewalk and that is what caused me to have a hard time dealing with the crash. The customer support at VORO Motors is outstanding. A nut came off in shipping, they sent me a replacement same day no questions asked. They were very easy to get a hold of and didn't insult me with a bunch of b.s. to get a simple answer. Don't underestimate the power of 25mph is my biggest point and if you need a scooter with high grade construction and features, you won't go wrong with an Emove Cruiser.

Excellent points and needs to be said over and over again as most enthusiasts, especially beginners, underestimate the danger.
      I'm looking at this or a 30mph Vsett 9+
The Emove has waterproofing, price and ease of repair in its favour (probably range too).... I also really like the usb charging outlet set up.
The Vsett has a suspension set which I personally prefer, ABS and dual nominal 650w motors that peak at 900w each.
I consider this to be safer than having over 1kw nominal in any one wheel, even if it is less overall power, in much the same way that all wheel drive is considered safer in cars due to increased traction whilst accelerating.
The other thing the Vsett has in its favour is also dual motor related. I'm 100kg and tall so I need all the torque I can get for hill climbing or going against a headwind, 2 motors on 2 wheels can put down more torque than a 1 wheel setup.
I'm so stuck on what to do.
I used to longboard and totally agree that people really need to just ride around cautiously with gear on in a quiet, safe area just getting used to the feeling of it.
Even as someone with experience of being on a deck and leaning to turn I still have difficulty feeling totally comfortable on escooters as someone with next to no experience with them, so anyone coming in with no scooting or skating experience at all needs to be super careful.
My gear will be a named brand well reviewed full face modular (flips to half face) motorbike helmet, wrist guards and/or biking gloves and elbow + knee pads.
One thing I learned from boarding is that if you ride long enough you WILL fall eventually... either through your own fault or someone elses.
When the day comes you want to have done all you possibly could to lessen the severity of the impact and that goes far beyond just gear... it requires constant active riding as you described.
At least scooters have breaks and suspension though 😂
Hope you recovered well, safe riding 🙂

Thanks for this. I tried one today (Apollo Explore) and was surprised at how the balancing differed from a bicycle. I figured it might have been easier because I'm smaller-framed, but it didn't seem to matter. I can definitely see why a copious amount of practice is recommended before taking it anywhere near vehicles, and why proper gear is also recommended, esp after seeing diagrams of the most commonly-hit areas when someone falls (chin and jaw? Yeah, that warrants a full-face helmet, thanks). I plan on keeping my scooter in protected lanes at the least, but falls from balance, potholes, and other things are still a very real danger.

Today I ordered the emove Cruiser and it will be a a so much better product. A little 3 weeks or so and I have it. I think it's the best choice since we can't go faster than 25-30 in the streets anyway and the range is perfect for the price.

My only regret for the Cruiser is the handlebar is just a little too short for me at 6'2". It's still a great ride, though. So after I put a bit more range on it, I may be writing in to ask if they've had requests for an extended t-bar or see if I can order one custom. But the big selling point for me was all the replacement parts that are available, including a replacement battery, and it's modular design that should make repairs more-or-less trivial.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide A couple features stand out for me for the next iteration of an upgrade. Pneumatic tires, range, and water resistance. As an upgrade to my FFR Horizon in the next 18 months or so, this has moved to the top. What I have found as I have moved through various levels of scooters is availability of spare parts. Having more than one source, other than China, for spare parts is key. What was supposed to be 2 weeks waiting on a front rim/bearing for my FFR Horizon has turned into 4-6 weeks. Could I have purchased it from FFR? Yes, but for 150% of the China price. In hindsight, that would have worth the cost. Hence my point about availability of parts. The only downside to FFR, their slow response time, minimum two days. That's not typically a problem unless you need a part two days ago.

I concur that this is a great commuter. The single motor has had plenty of power for my 150lbs and the semi-hydraulic brakes don't seem to need the constant adjustments that mechanical brakes require. And yes, Voro repsonds quickly. How quickly it will be when there is an actual issue, I cannot say because I've not had any yet. One last niggle - the spring front suspension can be a little clunky sounding over rough roads. And yes, the thumb throttle isn't ideal. But all-in-all, I find it a competent commuter.

Not trying to sound off arrogant or anything, we are confident of the quality we stand behind. Not sure if we still need a durability test to prove a point - The EMOVE brand itself has been around for years, a quick google get your plenty of feedbacks from riders dated back to 2016.
Alternatively, you can join our EMOVE Owners Club on Facebook, it is a very nice community of EMOVE riders. If there were any major problem when it comes to durability that we do not address - You should probably see that on the news by now.

Hoping you guys at ESG still checking in on this review. I am a heaver rider about 120kgs fully loaded. This scooter will handle that but I have a pretty big hill between me and my work. 10 to 15 % incline over around 2 km. My last scooter, Boosted Rev (RIP but fully refunded after it failed), easily did that so was wondering how this scooter would handle it? Nervous about single drive but the Zero 10x while great is too have for the buses and trains I have to take.

    • @Squiddles_
      @Squiddles_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It's rated for about a 20 degree incline, so real world probably around 13-16 degrees. It should be fine. I haven't bought one yet, but have been keeping up with it since 2019. I plan to purchase one this weekend.

The Stem clearly moves and has quite a bit of play...especially the top section...also those turn signals need to be a lot brighter, so they can be seen...and correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I’ve seen where the front suspension bottoms out rather easily...
Another thing, I think the positioning of the throttle is awkward and could make it uncomfortable...a deal breaker for me is the slow start to get up to speed and the heavier weight doesn’t help the portability...

Thanks for all you teach us. Here’s my question:
Is it possible to take an electric scooter in a passenger airplane, as luggage (assuming it’s weight does not exceed the max allowed weight of 35 kg). This is a crucial question for me, since I live in a small island and would like to take my e-scooter with me when traveling to the continent, 500 miles away. Or do airplane companies fear the danger of exploding batteries (since the Samsung phone case) ?

I have been seeing more negative feedback on the cruiser regarding the so called waterproof rating, where voromotors actually say that they don't cover water damage and in the terms and conditions that any water protection can degrade with time, now in my book you cannot claim a ip x7 rated item but then say that you don't stand by it, in other words its waterproof till its not! One guy said he'd bought a cruiser but the tail light plastic broke and compromised the water protection, he now has an orange paper weight in the garage which voromotors won't touch under warranty, sorry guys but if you are truly independent you need to look into these things and if true call them out for misrepresentation on the Emove cruiser!!
