    I'm close to getting my first 100 miles and definetly agree with your review Chuck!
    I am glad that based on your experience you rate it as the "Civic" of escooters. This is my main commuter so reliability with good performance were my main concerns.
    Coming from a Go Trax that served as my entry level scooter, the Swift and Jason's costumer service has been what I was looking for and even more.

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thumbs up for break, suspension, wheels, seems a very good choice for who live near the office, but not for who need public transport 1) folded is way too low for to be used like a trolley (if you are not Igor of F.J.) and it's too heavy if you have to do many stairs like in underground. 2) charge position... broken cable it's here

    I added a similar carry handle for my Zero 8, and they don't really block the unfolding mechanism. Probably you can lower the angle of the handle? also, i've so far managed to push my z8 5KM over the rated 35km range in one of my ride (thanks to KERS),.
    Do you know if the brake can be retrofitted to a zero8? the rear brakes on z8 paired with the slick rear hard tires is dangerously slippery (or fun, you pick your poison)

    Hi! Great videos. I’ve learned a lot. I’m looking into buying my first scooter. Most entry level scooters have 200-220 lb weight limits. I’m 210-220. So I’m right at the limit, but would like something with extra power. I’d like something to use on my 5 mile commute with a backpack. I’m currently looking at the uscooter sport. It’s a little more than I wanted to spend, but it seems to check the boxes. I’m a little worried about the braking though. Thoughts? Opinions on an alternative considering my weight?

    This looks like a budget Zero 8. Certain parts on these scooters look like they are shared among manufacturers. Chuck, why would a drum brake be maintenance free? It has brake “Shoes”/Pads that wear out and need to be replaced like a disc brake setup would....No?? Also for $800.00 don’t you think it’s a better idea to go with a Zero 8 or better yet, just stretch the budget $200 bucks and put yourself into a Real Machine: The ZERO 9 !!! Now that’s a bang for the buck scooter that can’t be beat for $1K dollars American. Hey, is the industry having supply chain issues due to COVID 9?? Thx for the great review., You are the class act of the industry!

    Love your stuff but as I indicated shopping for a scooter is Ike the wild west. Rules and Law are all over the place and then there's the unknown. My town and neighboring towns I'd like try to visit have hills. and while sights like yours and to a degree manufactures give some guidance it's still rather vague like the degree a hill is. Never seen a hill marked with a degree sign. Also do the degree limitations just mean the climb would be slow or not at all? When I watch sights like yours I'm finding there's a range of opinions expressed when it comes to a recommended motors power and its ability to climb hills. To be clear my goal isn't to race up any given hill but just to be able to climb it.

    This is a FluidFreeRide Horizon clone with a welcome front brake! The handle is cool but prevents an emergency standing on the rear fender emergency brake. I think there is a P-setting for the default mode on power up as mine always starts in 3rd and I have to put it back into 2nd to allow my boys Razor E350 to keep up with me. I enjoy riding mine but the rear suspension is not that functional under my 180 weight as I'm close to bottomed out and any little bump will send a shockwave up my spine. The rear plastic fender also makes a loud clap when hitting bumps, would have liked it to be more solid to match the rest of the tight build of this chassis.

    I just got this delivered last week. It doesn't seem that commuter friendly in the subway/metro/BART. It doesn't stand up straight and the handlebars have to be used as a carry handle when folded up. This doesn't work well when navigating crowds like the Glion, but the Glion sucks for ride quality. Not sure if I should get the Glion instead for mass transit.

    This scooter is 5 kgs heavier than the Uscooter GT while remaining slower and delivering less range. What's more, the GT is only a couple hundred bucks more despite decimating the Turbowheel Swift on every measurable specification. Even the regenerative braking on the GT is several times more effective!
    While it's better than the Xiaomi and the Ninebot range, I'd pick the UScooter every single time.

      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It is $800 after the code: 25OFF (also free shipping). Entry-level in this context was more about the low maintenance aspect (solid rear tire, dual enclosed drum brakes) while being a bit more powerful and faster than your standard issue M365. Many first time buyers are looking at scooters under $1000 now rather than the $400 mark.

    The problem with all of these Zero 8 clones is the solid back tire. Surprised you were riding it on that wet street. I used to be a big fan of solid tires until I crashed on a wet street.
    Otherwise, if a person isn't ever going to ride on wet streets or is very careful, it's a nice scooter. The Horizon gets better mileage though (minus the better brakes and handle).
    Nice review!
    I agree, I almost never fold my scooter anymore. That handle is a good idea.
    P.S.
    I agree with the comment about the music. Jeez, choose something different next time. TH-cam has an entire public domain library of far less annoying tunes. Haha. Don't mean to be a complainer.

      I have the Zero 8 and put over 500 miles on it and no probs at all in the wet. The rear tire traction is perfect. The thing I don't like is that the front pneumatic tire and the rear solid tire are different sizes and shapes, so steering is not perfect and precise.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback Joey. For sure you can slip easier with a solid tire than pneumatic. When riding on wet surfaces I take corners much slower - and doing this I had no problem riding in the very wet conditions (as seen in the video). If this scooter had dual solid tires (as my original etwow scooter did) I am even more careful on turns and stopping. We'll work on better music for the next video (hopefully next Tuesday - WideWheel Pro).

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Unbelievably, I have more than 500 miles put on my Zero 8 and my tires and traction still are grippy, even in wet. I'm going to see if I can go 2000 miles without changing the original set. Is this crazy and dangerous thinking? lol

    Why is it 90% of flats are on the back? I've never (yet) owned a scooter. "Logic" to me would suggest the front tire rolls over road debris before the rear.

    • @timdouglas6159
      @timdouglas6159 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thought I read somewhere that it is actually the torque that the motor puts on the wheel and inner tube that causes more flats than running over something. Most motors are in the back thus more flats there.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My experience has been 100% flats on rear. What we hear is that since most of the riding weight is on the rear wheel, that is where flats happen the most.
