I never heard this piece before, but WOW... I really enjoyed the exceptional performances by the brilliant Jussen Brothers and all the other instrumentalists. I especially loved the percussions! Absolutely breathtaking!!
Their virtuosity is astounding, having followed them for many years they have reached the apex of their profession and may they continue to give us the enjoyment of their amazing talent.

These boys are amazing. They can play anything with aplomb and grace. I have never felt that the concerto version is a huge improvement over the sonata version, but this performance certainly makes a strong case to consider it a separate piece on its own merit.

This is more exciting and amazing than any of the three piano concertos. Imo. The editor should have shown more of the applause. They cut the video at the worst part. We love to see the bows. They chopped off the PERCUSSION bows!

Yuja Wang would not have this memorized if she were to perform this concerto. Nor woukd a lot of pianists. It is very unique for the pianists to play this without score. Bartok would be utterly thrilled and shocked at this achievement. They memorized the Rite of Spring too.
And think about the pianist brothers: they don’t have any scors in sight, they know all this Bartoc piece by heart😳 All the other musicans have notes infront of them!
Wonderful performance. Horrid videography. Arthur, Lucas, it's time you put serious thought into replacing your video crew. Everything they do detracts from your performance. I can enjoy this only when I am not looking at the screen. I shall listen as I go put groceries away.
I said the exact same thing. Worst videograohy I've ever seen in classical music. The wide angle shots are insane. Fortunately this is not the norm with videos I've seen of them. Just have them NOT do the wide angles.
They moved excactly like this when they were Just 5 years old. These Dutch guys belong absolutely to the top pianists world-wide. Just close your eyes and You'll understand.....
Absolutely incorrect. The sounds are made by the whole body. Especially when it comes to the aggressive, rapid, loud chords throughout this piece, the piece requires so much energy from the pianists. They really put their all into it. I imagine you would struggle to produce such virtuosic sounds given your perspective.

I thought this work was called Sonata for 2 pianos and percussion, rather than concerto.
So did I but apparently Bartok did an orchestral version two or three years later.
