Also make sure stabilizer is on too, it helps alot with making lineart not shaky! (As a beginner i had no idea about a stabilizer but it helps a ton now)
I am so glad i found this video. Im new to digital art and Krita and have been noticing the jaggedness of my lines and it was bugging me. Thanks for such an easy fix!
This really does make a difference in my lineart. Thanks Kai, short, simple, explains what's wrong and gets to the point without being a slog to listen to.
OMG KAI, thank you so much for this! I just got my drawing tablet and I'm switching to digital art. But I got so confused about the weird lines, but I ignored it and I was like "I guess these kinds of stuff happen to a beginner". After I finished this tutorial, my lines became smoother and it makes it so much easier to draw and have fun. Love your short n sweet tutorials as always Kai, keep it up!
Hey I don't have an interest in krita but I saw your thumbnail and decided to stop by and like the video and comment because that is a dope thumbnail. Easily caught my eye. Good Job!
Thank you so much I’ve recently been getting into the digital art space using krita and I’ve been so frustrated with my lines on my art nothing was smooth and that’s what was messing with it and this is the first video that actually helped me thank you so much!
@@soyelah5604 what canvas size are you using? Mine was too small, try 2000px by 2000px or at least full hd (1920x1080). I mean when you create your krita document set it to 1920px 1080px and at least 72 ppi
BRUuh ! I was legit about to delete krita cus i was fed up with my end product looking jagged cus of the lines being shit when i saw your vid ! Thanks a TON !! I subbed for what its worth !
This is my first step towards getting good tools. It's been frustrating seeing tutorials and videos of people doing ONE stroke and making a masterpiece. They get the smooth shading and clean shadows. Meanwhile I paint mona lisa in one single part and it looks pixelated like here. I do an entire character and somehow IT LOOKS LIKE MS PAINT!
My brush changed and became all jagged within the same project. I checked and the spacing - Auto is checked, it's on, and at 1. Having the same brush smothing selected (weighted) the lines look very pixelated, even when using the assistant (the lines drawn using the spline assistant look worse than those drawn free hand !). I changed it to Stabilizer but there was absolutely no difference. I can't figure out what settings might have inadvertedly changed, as I did not modify anything in the brush editor from the freehand phase to the spline phase. A suggestion would be very much appreciated, thank you.
the person in the video might have. But also this person is only responding to positive comments so... might not get any help. I haven't gotten any either. Same thing happened to me where I checked auto on spacing and it made it 100x worse.
I'm afraid that didn't work for me. I checked auto. I used I high resolution page. I checked anti alias as well. I'm thinking it's a bug in Krita. Version 5.0 has quit on me several times already. How frustrating...so close and yet so far
Lines can't fade unless they're vector or soft brushes. Everything your seeing on your screen right now is made up of a bunch of pixels... there's just so many, it looks smooth. Take a screenshot of your computer or phone, zoom in and you'll see the pixels.
yeah i came back to this video because i was having this problem again and auto was already checked. but i guess i figured out my problem i've only benn using the pens and i always draw my lines in 5. so i guess i need to actually use brushes and use a little thicker lines. i also need to make a fills layer. i'm not sure why i don't remember krita 4 doing it but in krita 5 using the paint bucket tool for coloring just destroys the lines for some reason. maybe it always did that and i just never noticed but yeah i guess this video still helped me out lol.
I’m using like a digital drawing thingy and it’s the one without a screen: how do I do the whole pressure thingy where it gets thicker and thinner the harder you press?? So bloody confused rn
Hey need a lil help, donnu what to do ...I still don't have sharp brush tips ,I've watched so many tutorials and tried to change and copy them but nothing seems to work?what do I do?
Another thing you can try is increasing the "Depth" field when you create a new document. I had mine set to 8bit so it was jagged no matter what I did. Now I use 32 and it's smooth as hell, even without the Auto feature shown in this video! Bare in mind that the file size increases dramatically though!
This really saved my time (i tried it with my pen tablet) ;-; Also imagine the day they add more editable vector fonctions like clip studio ^^ Apparently they're going to work on it after the release of Krita 5.0 Soon I'll try Krita on S7 I hope it'll still great :0
nice. this is what i'm looking for. i watched other guy video and he's like "you wanna see no blurry edge? change the resolution. duh." or whatever. dude it's just common sense to know resolution thingy especially if you're into krita right
hey nice vid! but ive got a question. my brushes are so zigzagy even tho my hand isnt shaky at all. do you know what’s the problem? edit : nvm i just need to restart it whenever it becomes like that

Why is no one else talking about the Stabilizer setting in addition? Your comment needs more up votes.
How? I can't find it

I think i figured it, i was using 300х300 canvas, needs to be minimum 1500x1500, otherwise the line is pixelated

SUCH. A. EPIC. PERSON, PERIOD!
DAYUMM and i was crying my eyes out cuz of the white spaces left when i use paint bucket tysmmm man
Also check if the brush precision is turned low, some default brushes like airbrush have it set to 1 and it makes awful lines, best to set it to auto.
thanks you, i'll download Krita again

I'M SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS *MY GOSH*

Just a heads up, auto spacing actually makes the lines *worse* when using a smaller brush size.
OH MY GODS I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE MY PPI WAS TOO LOW THANK YOU;;
Bro... Wtf that's amazing I just did it and it worked!!!! THANK YOU!!
Damn that smooth then butter.
First off... MOMO! Second off. Yes. Just like butter
Could also be they have the DPI/PPI too low. By default it's 300 but if you change it to 600 it helps a lot as well.
I was hoping to find to take off the pixels but it didn't work. But now the lines are much more smooth though, thanks!
