Had an old '79 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 up until about 10 years ago. I miss that old truck every day! Should have never sold her. Nice work bringing this one back to life sir!
I had an 1981 I wish I had kept it
I have an '81 GMC Sierra K15 8' Longbed p/u 4x4
What “A Gem in the Rough” you have there Chad! Stay the Course!
Nicely done my friend she’s gonna make a hell of a rig for sure
Makes me miss my dads old truck. He had an '83 Sierra Classic. Sold it 20 years ago. It'd be worth a lot of money today. Back then, these trucks sold for $5,000 for a nice one. Probably can't touch a nice one for less than $25k today.
I had a 76 GMC 3/4 ton 454 with a TH400. It was an awesome truck, but I needed to combat some major rust issues (cab mounts and floorboards), and my health was not up to it. I got an offer I couldn't refuse, and let it go. I miss that truck.
I watch a few different channels with this type of content and I have to say, you have kinda ruined me for most of them. I enjoy the way you present your content. Keep up the excellent work.
New sub!!! I’m in the same process with a 97 shortbed pickup. A old man had it sitting in his yard for 7yrs. So far I’m in with a complete new fuel system and she’s running.
Preshate it!
I have a 1977 Chevrolet K20 4x4 that used to be my dad's truck, he gave it to me a few years ago and I recently started working on it to get it going again. My dad has told me a few times over the years that I should get rid of it because it's just a money pit but I just can't do it because I have memories attached to it. I'm hoping to get it going in the next few months. There isn't that much I need to do to it but I only get to work on it on the weekends.
I wish the cab of my truck was in as good of condition as the one in this video.
Back in the day, shutting off the ignition while under way and then turn the key back on would explode the Gas accumulated in the muffler which made a loud bang and also destroyed many mufflers! Foolishness is still with us! Ron PTL USA
I wanted to take a little rest but this video changed my plans hahahhaha. I really appreciate what you are doing with this old stuff.
Good job. Always a pleasure to watch you work.
Please keep an eye on this truck and show us her progress from here. Thanks!
Thank´s from Germany you for the nice Video. Cute Dog! I'm looking forward for the next one.
Is there a ground coming off block to firewall?😊
Nice work getting the ole truck up and running! 🙂👍
Like to install a Holley f I unit
That backfire is valve timing going south! The clue was that blown out muffler! My guess is the timing chain has got the SAGS! but start by putting a timing light on it and look at the distributor number one cylinder location with the timing mark on the damper.
Love you intro music! One of the best channels out there!
i hada 84 love seein these old rigs get restored keepem commin ur doin darn good im sharing ur videos with all my friends and kids
👍Good stuff & that’s how ya gitter-done!
If possible, I look at the brake and (if there) clutch pedal, see how worn it is.. you can easily see if it's AT LEAST rolled over once... sometimes the seat bolsters and door armrests and the like will let you know if it has rolled over as well.. Just in case someone 'swears' to you nono, it's never rolled over, sir.. that brake pedal tells a looooong story.. : )
You make it look easy Chad.. Looking forward to see u start on your shop soon.. Take care my friend...
you are the engine master 😳🤣✌️🍺🇺🇸
Awesome job!
Nice fix👍👍👍
Dude, get a jack when your working on those tanks! Gracious!
You did a fine job bringing that truck back on it's way to a new life..Persaverance , thats the key...Stu from Canada.
Nice project.
Post here for tips...www.67-72chevytrucks.com
Dontcha just love DIY wiring... It makes sense when it's being done but it never makes sense to anybody else. Well done, that man.
I laughed my ass off when the key worked and he said he ain’t got a clue what he did.
When I was young my dad had a pin hole in his radiator and he cracked an egg and put it in. He said that when you start it the egg would be drawn to the hole and seal it. It seemed to work cause it didn't leak.
Another great video, love the relaxed attitude , looking forward to the next one
Excellent video :) those old truck last long time on Powertrain for sure and powerfull too ! Worth fix up too!
Another nice easy watching and listening video, nice touch with the music and the flag at the end. Good job gettin after those wiring devils
Old truck runs good! Tune up and she will run like new!👌
Red accessory wire on positive battery post (small)😊
I really like that style truck
During the gas tank redirection I pulled a groin muscle when your stretched over to grab that nut off the tire. By the way, thanks for the tip about too much Chevrolet HP and the ware n tare effect it has on mufflers. Also, I've been told if you clean the area of the tire you're patching really, really good,
you can get away using 1/2" scotch tape but only in limp mode until you reach Chads Garage !
HOW DID I MISSED THIS ONE
I don't know!
Good job
Got a pal that had a 54 Chevy 1/2 ton and every spring he'd take both doors off and every fall he'd put 'em back on.
love the show
Love the videos so far keep it up your making amazing videos especially for being a smaller channel am excited for more
Good job that was a real good on also
Well done..runs sweet
Well that was awesome
Great video thank you
Signed the papers and raised my hand when that truck was new.
that was fun what we fixing next great video
Never know around here!
That’s going to be a nice truck once the flatbed is installed and maybe some rims and tires
Well that was fun, good job!
Ignition switch
Gotta love a chevy
Flat cam lobe???
Good work 👍
bad camshaft?
I have drove chevys for years an still do I’ve noticed my muffler s were like that. Now I know what’s doing it. I thought that’s what was doing it u know nothing can contain that much horsepower. Shut yeah.
Excellent video as always. Really that old girl fired right up. When you become a huge TH-cam channel, don’t change like everyone else does. One question: Is that a big block or just a 350?
I don't plan on changing. I'm just an ol country boy hick doing what I love. 350.
She needs a little TLC, but good job getting her going!
Wish you lived where I live could sure use your help man you make it look so easy. What's up with your old chevy truck any new video's on that one ?
Could be one coming up on it.........
Nice and thanks
this is cool stuff
Distributor was 180° off at some point. That's what split the mufflers
I'm from Pennsylvania. Where at in Pennsylvania was this fella going?
Acts like the body ground is bad or missing, headlight ground and it starts, but gauges pegged?
Call you (Doc tarry).😊
We habe that car as the suburban, sadly broken trough a crash, egine still working though
Have*
Timing chain
It’s nice to hear someone fire up an old square body where the starter has been shimmed and it turns over nice and smooth. Don’t know why but I could never stand the sound of an unshimmed starter turning over an old Chevy
What's the gas tank out of, I need one like that one
Hey man I just left you a message on FB if it sounds stupid it’s because I don’t know what I am doing anyway nice video and have a great day thanks again
Didn't get any message.
Did you check the firing order ?
Something is not right 🤔
The grounds
It will be a good truck when you get finished lol
Its a no door chevy 3500 😂😂😂😂😂👍
will this truck be in more videos
Doubtful. It's not mine. I got it running for somebody else.
Love your videos!!!
Is the ground wire hooked up to the motor engine
Yes sir.
Starting fluid is for “starting” nuts…😉
Not getting enough distributer advance could be a sign of a worn timing chain
It needs racing stripes..😊peq
ON YOUR GAUGE SITUATION, I'D JUST PUT SOME DISCOUNT AUTO CHEAPY CLUSTER, JUST MY THOUGHT
what makes it a 35
1 ton.
What's up
Hi
cool
Comment 👨🔧
I don't know
👍
It always says your stupid I have a hard time believing that you're a lot smarter than the haters
Too bad you didn't have an old set of headers to throw on it then you wouldn't have to mess with all that.
Timing is way off
