Derek, my dad and I (from Minot ND) now live in CO, watch you together all the time. He is a lifelong mechanic and had a stroke about 7 years ago and can’t work on cars anymore. We live vicariously through you and I just want to thank you for everything you do for us, and all of the other fellers and fellets out there.
Hey Derek one thing I've noticed when you're looking at a vehicle and you're not sure on the year, all ya have to do is read the numbers on the tail lights ! The date is there
They don't seem real anymore. Between the modern radiator, somewhat modern seats, and him basically having 'buyers' who scan the country for this and other channels to supply easier 'saves' for views, I unsubscribed.
Derek, my three toddler daughters and I love watching your show! They say: papa lets watch fix a car with a guy! They always wanna help me fix things now! They all sit in my lap and watch with me. Thanks feller!
Rebuild the 327, everyone is going the LS or similar swaps...keep it to a Street Rod you would have build when you were in your teens early 20's, time capsule it. Like you Shopped in J.C.Whitney for everything... I think that would make a few fellers and fellettes happy to see. Thanks for everything Derek
I agree, it was fun watching you rebuild the BBC and the Ford 300. Plus, I always pick up a pointer here and there. Shortcuts that work. And how to avoid some that don't.
Derick: you need to rebuild that 327. You could do an episode on it. New bearings, rings, maybe a hotter cam, but definitely keep 327. They getting very rare.
Boomers be like : I tell you what...back in my day I had a chevelle with a 327/375 hp and that bad boy would jump a beer can in the walmart parking lot.
I personally think rebuilding the 327 and running it would be awesome. Everyone does the 350, 400 swaps in these things. I think the 327 would be unique.
I totally agree with so many on here. Rebuild the 327. Born in 73 and the 327 has a huge place in my heart. Keep up the great work. Blessings to you and your family.
Dereck, your sense of humor is infectious. And pretty dang gone amazing! The challenges you take on are mission impossible. And yet you always find a way. Thx for your super tremendous positive attitude.
I think we definitely want to see more of this truck. Personally I’m a fan of rebuild the 327 on a budget! Thank you for all that you do, you are very appreciated.
I hope you rebuild the 327. That engine brings back a lot of memories for me. Had one in my 60 Chevy convertible and loved it. Thanks for another great video!
I love that you don't get frustrated by a few setbacks. This just proves that you are a master mechanic and you know that there is always a solution to the problem.

I want to definitely see more of this C10! It deserves a rebuild Redemption. I think it'd be really cool for this thing to finally live out all the hopes and wishes that all the previous owners wanted for it.
Growing up in North Texas my neighbor I worked for 1978 to 81 had a 66 and 67 with 327 4 speed. These were workhorses, Hauling cows to sake barn to hauling hay, Loved them trucks
As a bluesman myself, I highly approve of this episode's music selections! I had a '64 C-10 as my first vehicle, bought it with paper route money when I was 14.
It's a good lookin little truck with some good possibilities. The 327 is getting a little rare, hardly ever see them anymore, everything is either a LS swap or a 350, which ain't a bad thing, but my vote is to rebuild the 327, hop it up a bit and put it back in the truck. Thanks again Derek for bringing a feller along with ya on another recovery!
My dad had one of these things when I was a kid. It was an old Massey Ferguson dealership truck. One of my earliest memories was almost launching out the passenger side when dad took a hard left and the door flew open. Luckily he caught my arm on my way out. That was 35ish years ago. Funny how far trucks have come, that truck seemed ancient at that time, but my daily driver is older now than it was at that time. Thanks for bringing that memory back.
It's a nice truck. I grabbed a decent '64 long bed, in the late 90s. Original blue and white. 307ci. Old mans son was a mechanic. Sold it to a guy, who rebuilt it with his son, and gave it to him, when the kid got his license. Gorgeous truck now. Runs in the mid 11s.

Amazing... I stopped recovering old cars in 1989 or so... I was looking for a different direction direction at this time in my life... and now it brought me back 35 years ago 😂
I seriously want to see more on this truck. I love that Era for vehicles. This truck could be AMAZING, and I am anxiously waiting for a follow up for this one. Please please please try to get this one on the list soon for rebuild etc. I would so much love to see that thing stripped down, repainted, engine replacement, the whole 9 yards. I understand that takes time you don't really have, but it would be so rewarding for us the viewers to see, and for you to finish.
It's sad the ol' C10 couldn't make the trip home, but I would love to see it come back with that 327 getting a fresh rebuild with maybe a cam, heads, intake and carb as well as maybe even doing a 4 speed swap on it. I mean, it's got the bucket seats... so why not? Plenty of room for the manuel activities in that cab. Thanks for everything you do for us Derek. I know you've been a tremendous help in keeping me motivated on my old square body.
My oldest brother had a 65 GMC short bed. And in it he had a 283, with a set of power pak heads. 4 speed Muncie. Truck would flat out fly. I miss that truck.

not even a petrol head myself , as we call it in the UK, but I've been watching your videos for over a year Derek. I watch while working and just find them so engaging, and your chatter is so amusing and heartwarming. The way you involve your kids as well is so lovely to see, what a great father you are. Thanks for so much entertainment and never stop doing what you're doing. I would love to see you stumble upon my dream car, the DATSUN 240Z, although they are clearly becoming harder to find these days! Peace from the UK Derek 👊👊
Would enjoy seeing a quick/basic rebuild of the 327! I always enjoy your vids where you've done some engine work like that. Also would be great to see how you would resolve the non-centered cross members underneath as well as other items that would need addressing. This truck is worth at least a couple more videos :-)) Thanks for doing these, Derek! steve
It’ll probably work. My faceplate once fell out of the car when I was in high school and was rained on that night. Let it dry a few days and it worked fine. They have always been high quality units 👍
Nice to see you going back to your roots Derek, of rebuilding cheap, forgotten rigs. Great video. Keep up the good work. That C10 is old, almost as old as me. lol
I absolutely love all these Revival Videos… They are hands down the best on TH-cam and 💯 the most entertaining! I mean only Derek can keep you entertained for 1-2+ hours of a guy working on a vehicle… Keep it up and keep em coming, we definitely appreciate it! 🦅🇺🇸🍻
You are a sharp cookie Derek. Been watching for quite a while. First one I saw was the old Model A. I was mesmerized. It’s soothing to relax and watch these for a guy.
I love watching the revivals just like any other feller. But I really enjoy watching the progress on the vehicles. That being said, my vote is the 400 in her. You don’t need to do a revival every week brother. Stay at home with the family and work on the progress of some of the projects. That’s honestly my favorite. You never cease to amaze me.
I was doing about the same thing as you are doing with this old C10 with 1966 version of the same truck, and darn if it didn't have the same problem with the driveshaft hitting the side of the hole through the frame member. Whoever had tried to fix it before that the whole engine and transmission mounted on an angle. Luckily, I found out that there was a crack in the block and gave up on the whole project and sold the shell for 200 bucks. Thanks for taking us through this because it brings back memories. Some of them not so good and some of them great cheers from Toronto again
Now wait just a second!! A new video before noon?!?! Hows a guy supposed to set tile with this playing on the phone?!! Going to apologize for the crooked tile right now! Bring on that video!!
Never mind setting tile. It's a quarter to midnight here and just as I was about to put my phone down and go to sleep a new VGG video pops up... oh well, another night into the wee small hours. 🙄😁
@ViceGripGarage Mate!! The 24th minute was the best, some random wire make you jump and then its the starting werler. That was gold!! Love watching your videos mate, never change. Thank you
Your you tube channel gives me hope for mankind! Welcome to Tennessee and I must say we are a better state for y’all choosing to move here. Your family is amazing and a beacon of light in a troubled world. You a humble man that is inspiring and truthful to witness. Godspeed young man.
More fun! - I was wondering why you even tried to use that old carb when I realized how helpful it is for all of us when you “use what’s there”… so in that same space, let’s rebuild that 327 (please) hehe. Thanks for such great videos!
Cute C10. The 350 would really "hop-it-up" with a few extra horseys, but would save your bigger engines for bigger things. Always a pleasure watching you resuscitate the spirits still residing inside these rigs of yester year! Thank you for all your skill doing restart all the while doing a standup that is a treasured classic in its own sense. Laughing with you all the way back to barn....cheers!
I would love to see any of those options for re-engine'ing the hood space area. But we know you want to find out what that 327 is doing, so, I would suggest a pull apart, rebuild of the 327, and maybe add some soup to it.... Love watching all you do Mr Derek.
Had a 327 in my 1972 El Camino I pulled out of a junk yard in New Mexico. I was 19 and new in the Air Force building my first hot rod. Long story short…loved my 327…rebuild it man!
I’m voting 327 rebuild. Definitely a throw back for me as I remember quite a few friends cars in high school sporting that motor. Thanks for showing the carb rebuild - I learn something every week.
Derek,I had a silver CRX in the 80's! Dearly loved it. Would love to see you keep this one.Itvis so documented and obviously loved by the owner. PLEASE keep it! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I rebuilt the 327 in my 67 camaro with a powerglide and was just a blast to drive. I also like the fact that no one ever thinks your running a 327, "ya gotta 350sb in there?" is always one of the first guesses. Today its probably LS but you get what I'm sayin.
The 327 has a special place in my heart so of course I want to see it get a new lease on life. The one I had was in a 79 Nova and for what it was it impressed me.
Good to see you wrenching on a first gen C10. First VGG episode I saw was the white, long stepside with the 454 that you drove out of the scrap yard. I was hooked, as I have had my '66 short stepper since 1992. Rebuild that 327. I was in the process of getting my 327 parts together, until I found a 427. Can't wait to see this one again.
Had one just like it, short straight custom. Had a powerglide in it on the column, but also dropped a 327 with 3/4 cam and a 4 barrel quadrajet. Put baby moons on it. After 2 tranny’s dropped a turbo 350 in it with a quick shift on floor. Wished I never sold it! Love your channel!
You're a perfect blend of Bob Ross and Mr Rodgers. Calming when issues arise. As Bob would say with a Derek twist.."There no mistakes, just happy little doodads and whatnots" Keep up the great vidoes, you give me confidence to work on some of my long over due projects like my 87 GN that my father inlaw bought new, that has been sitting for 20+ years. 😢 I'm learning from you. Thank you for sharing

Sorry to hear that - thanks so much for watching!
must be nice seeing B-52’s flying all the time
Why not Minot... bed frame races anyone?
That sounds familiar I moved to Colorado from Lisbon ND,are y'all down here looking for a sweet ride to buy,I've got a 67 BarraCuda
Hey Derek one thing I've noticed when you're looking at a vehicle and you're not sure on the year, all ya have to do is read the numbers on the tail lights ! The date is there
These revival videos are like comfort food for me. These are what I like most. Troubleshooting, humor, Americana, history…
Well said, ditto for me😅
Amen, thanks! ,,,,derek
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy

Put a 283 crank in it to build a "302" !!! Almost square stroke and bore !!!
Just put the 283 from the 777 raceway in it or a 350.
@@wrongwayroger2519 With a blower!!
Yep. 327, thumpy cam and dual quads or better yet, 3 dueces.
327 is the way I would go
Quick and dirty rebuild on the 327. That's my vote.
And a nasty cam
I’d love to see that 327 get a second chance
Yes, rebuild
+1 to this, quick and dirty rebuild.
I agree, it was fun watching you rebuild the BBC and the Ford 300. Plus, I always pick up a pointer here and there. Shortcuts that work. And how to avoid some that don't.
As a 61 year old disabled veteran with limited mobility, one of the best parts of my day begins with watching one of your videos!
Derick: you need to rebuild that 327. You could do an episode on it. New bearings, rings, maybe a hotter cam, but definitely keep 327. They getting very rare.
Check out VGG EP1. How to rebuild a SBC on the cheap. A younger Derek rebuilds a 305?, 307? I forgot; in his garage. A classic.
I couldn't agree more. I am doing my first rebuild of a small block chevy and would to see you do another engine budget build.

Thanks Derek for another fun episode. Oh, and I would, like some others suggested, leave the 327 in it, btw...
Not only in America. Derek has fans all over the world, U.K. and France in our case.

Glad to see some still work for wages
Rebuild on the 327 would be pretty cool. That's my vote.
@ViceGripGarage Mate!! The 24th minute was the best, some random wire make you jump and then its the starting werler. That was gold!! Love watching your videos mate, never change. Thank you
Rebuild the 327 and give this truck a new life. Great episode!
Your you tube channel gives me hope for mankind! Welcome to Tennessee and I must say we are a better state for y’all choosing to move here. Your family is amazing and a beacon of light in a troubled world. You a humble man that is inspiring and truthful to witness. Godspeed young man.
This dude actually genius level mechanics !! Love Vice Grip Garage and Derek!!!!!
Good evening, Derek. I so look forward to your videos. I have never fixed a car, but Watchung your videos, I hope to work on one very soon.
All dream, no balls
Derek, when did a 327 come with an EGR VALVE! And a HEI?
Man! A feller snatched this up early!!!
Another Great Adventure ! Nice Truck to Have !
Derek,I had a silver CRX in the 80's! Dearly loved it.
Would love to see you keep this one.Itvis so documented and obviously loved by the owner.
PLEASE keep it!

Love some vgg on a Friday night with some cold snacks whoooooo
Thank you, DEREK......FOR GOING back to the "OLD SCHOOL"VICE GRIP GARAGE FORMAT.....I would like to begin to see more
he does so many of these still! A guy cant do it all of course.
He does at least 1-2 a month 😂
The guy just drove one from Canada two weeks ago……
I can't believe how hard this guy works. It almost doesn't even make sense
@@yeahright2449don't want to die early from being bum
I rebuilt the 327 in my 67 camaro with a powerglide and was just a blast to drive. I also like the fact that no one ever thinks your running a 327, "ya gotta 350sb in there?" is always one of the first guesses. Today its probably LS but you get what I'm sayin.
Longmire just got himself a new stepbrother 👍
@1:13:45 rebuild the 327
"Let me get my needle tool." Gets a bar and starts tapping on the side of the carb. You gotta love this guy!
Yellow jackets are good for the environment.....as fertilizer
Well, I had dinner plans with the old lady and her family. But, a guy had to come up with an excuse because ViceGrip dropped a Friday evening video. 😂
She will just have to understand that it's a better Pizza night.
Derek,
Please keep the 327. They are hard to find and a fine engine. Thanks for providing hours of entertainment and rescues!
My all time Must Have truck. I’ve always loved them since I was kid and saw my first one in the 90’s
Great project truck love to see the low budget build, I say 300 hp 350 reliable, bullet proof and venerable can't go wrong. Thanks for sharing.
