  • A tree fell on this old truck and crushed the top of the cab. Let's see if we can straighten it back out and get a windshield in it.

    Backfires can damage the power valve inside the carburetor. I don't know if that would lead to the power loss you're describing but it may be a start. Btw, There's not nearly enough old Dodge pickups on the road. Glad you're giving this one a shot.

    The yellow chainsaw is burning bar oil...the automatic oiler pump has a gasket that leaks, letting bar oil flow right into the crankcase

    • @ThisNThatGarage
      @ThisNThatGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not an automatic oiler and unless the case is cracked bar oil aint getting in the crankcase. The fuel line was melted and has most likely stopped up the carb. Look for a video on it soon.

    Well, I'm only 44 seconds into this video. Sadly, yesterday morning (Sunday June 30, 2024) around 10 AM. The wife and I heard a very loud noise from behind the house, Which is where we park our truck. A limb about the size of the one shown that's touching the truck in this video broke off a pin oak that back there and fell about 20-ish feet onto the passenger side of the truck. No wind, no rain, nothing. Just a bright sunny day. It has a brank about the size of a mans arm through the windshield, through the dash, and to the floor. It's a three door cab, 97 f-150. It crushed the roof above the pass front and pass rear door, obviously broke those windows.
    I pray there are some tricks and tips in this and the other videos you've published that at least give me some hope on fixing this. I was a mechanic for 30+ years. I am now 100% disabled and on disability, which I HATE. Yes, the wife works. But given the state of the economy, we're doing everything possible just to keep out heads above water. To the point I'm skipping medical procedures, Skipping meds that I'm supposed to be on, and even skipping meals. No, we don't have full coverage on the truck and made the decision more than a year ago to stop paying our homeowners insurance, I own the house and land outright. So again, I hope there's information that I can apply to the situation we have here.
    More importantly, Thank You Sir for posting this. It's at least given given me a little hope this can be fixed. I need all the hope I can get atm. 😮‍💨😩😞
    Oh and no worries about me blaming you for anything stupid I might do. I'm not that sort of fella. My actions are my fault, no one else's!!
