That's what my dad had back in the '60's! I used to sit on the engine cover, no seat belt, no airbags just windshield to catch you in a wreck! Cool find!
My pops had one also. I was sitting on my moms lap on the passenger side. Pops made a hard left and for some reason, mom and I fell out LoL. I'll never forget it. The good ole days
Had a 64 , was in our shop ready to get painted,, guy needed cash, got it for like 800 bux after it got painted,,, drove the snot out of it …lots of cool trips with friends that unfortunately aren’t around anymore,,
Nope I had a 83 g20 5 lug GMC van dura 305 vin h th400 no clean title had a title salvage mileage exempt from the dealer that sold it used for parts... still cost me and my uncle $950 for a 114k 84 GMC van, and other than the front doors were rusted out at the bottom and so were the rear doors... It was worth that to us for the th400 transmission and the 4 GMC rally wheels beaty rings and GMC center caps and fairly decent bfg radial ta tires
Chad.... You can't possibly put these videos out fast enough! I' can't get enough... I'm a 74 year old mechanic and you are awesome and at times comical to watch. 👍 Great job!
Unbelievable, 44 years off the road, get it running, hook up a temporary fuel system, pull it out of the hole then immediately drive it on the road. Great work and a great video again. Well done Chad.
That was a great revival!.....Imagine sitting all those years, and running so well once she got goin'. Always nice to see Miss Daisy.🐕 Very enjoyable video..
Had a 1962 Econoline I bought in 1970 for 300 bucks (old telephone truck). Drove it for 11 years had 90000 miles when I bought it and 240000 miles when I sold it for 100 bucks. 6 months later I had a head on collision in my big Chevy car - thank heavens it didn't happen in that truck!!!!!
Back in high school in the late 70's, I always wanted to an old Econoline on Cragars or Keystone Classics and cruise around town with Ted Nugent Stranglehold blasting on the stereo. Lol
I’m fixin to turn 60 in a few days. Your videos brings back lots of memories. This Chanel is great. Please keep up the content. Blessings from Clyde Texas
Love those vans. We had a 64 Econoline cargo van with doors on left, right and rear, and a knob that activated 4 way flashers. I was 9 when my dad got it in 1970. It had a 240-6 and 3 on the tree.
I'll say this right here, 2 minutes into the video. You haven't cleaned it up yet at all, but the bumps on the rear where those round tail lights sit, that little tiny hump that comes out boy oh boy that is probably the sexiest part of those old vans.. They surely don't make them like that anymore, and I"m real happy to see that here this week for your video!!
Your very brave man taking on these projects I'm amazed at how you go about things and it all seems logical when you explain them even tho it's rough methods. Love it all. Bloody brilliant to watch your videos.
Great video I am 66 years old and like ever body my age I had couple of them. Old vans I remember there was body 10 of use one night riding round in it and it quit on use we had to push it up school house hill and cost back down to in town where my buddy's 57 4 door Chevy car was thanks for the video and the memories. 😂 P.S.that z71 sounding great to
Love this One. Reminded me of my First Van(1953 Ford Econoline). It also had a 6 cylinder in it! Ran great until I had 1 too many martoonies and gunned it until one of the pistons departed out the side of the engine Block! Keep them coming would love to see more on this Van!
Just thought I'd share this, sometimes if you have any super glue handy, you can put some on the tip of your screwdriver then put in the screw head and it will hold long enough to get it started,, but the magnet idea works too! From what I've seen YOUR FATHER TAUGHT YOU WELL! YOUR A FINE MECHANIC! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!
My father had à 61 Ford Econoline window van like that, dark green and White around Windows. Took from pennslyvania To Texas in early 70's! My father's co-worker bought new in 61. Also had 65 Ford Econoline pickup with corner Windows in 80's and early 90's. Glad To see you got it running and driving again. Take care.
what feelings you bring to mind of the times when those cars and trucks younget runnning again its like you bring something to the table thats been forgotten back to life. kind of makes you think of the people thats been lost in time! Warms my heart SEMPER FI
It's good folks like you that are going to get us through whatever apocalypse that's in store. I pray there's someone like you near when that day comes. I make a heck of a cup of coffee.
Again, a great Southern Charm video of man's determination to make something run! Had me laughing and watching with great interest! Love your videos, please don't stop.
My father bought a new 1968 Dodge A100 with a 273 V8 and in 1977 I took my drivers test in it with 3 on the tree luckily he had a Dana 40 with policy in his great video. I enjoy watching all yours thank you retired US Army sergeant major Gamsby
Enjoyable video!! I hope you could do a series on this van getting it road worthy. Fixing the brakes, exhaust, oil change, cleaning interior etc. Cool van project!!
That's a cool old van. It's pretty neat that it's still got his name on the side. I like that old straight six, 3 on the tree combo. Reminds me of when I was a kid. Great video. Some of these old vehicles just make you reminisce.
back in the mid to late 70's/ early eighties, i used to goto work with my dad when he worked at uhaul. one time we were takin ona those from one uhaul to another haulin somethin or other, i cant remember and the shift linkage to the trans fell apart in the middle of winter in about 6 inches of slushy nasty snow. It had to be in the twenties outside, wind a blowin the works and my poor padre was under there freezin his ass off with me tryin to help him on the side of the hwy gettin splashed by slush the whole time. I learned alotta new words that day. As miserable as we were, i still think fondly on that memory cause we busted our butts to get to the destination soaked and freezin. ona my prouder moments. i was 8 or 9 i think. It did have heat i think but oh what a trip! Sweet home chicago! Thanks for bringin back that memory brother
A nother Awesome vid. Ole Bubba here always goes back to my younger days. Thanks a bunch. My folks had a van round that period of time. Waiting fer your next revival.
That was very cool! Brings back memories of when ,back in 1970 a friends dad had one of these vans in the back field. we got it going and drove it around.we were 10!!
👍Good stuff. Glad that old feller is still sharp & sharing stories. Best to him. I remember in the 70s my dad had 2 old Dodge vans like this. He made 1 good 1 outta 2! Swapped engines & we took it on a road trip from KY to Alabama w/ no issues. Also recall him filling a glass Pepsi bottle w/ water & slowly pouring into carburetor in effort to remove some carbon. Dad had some old tricks up his sleeve too. Good video. Git ‘er done! 👍🇺🇸
Miracle to get that thing out of there to run and drive! “Very impressive” as Project Farm would say. Take a break and let your knees heal before you take on another challenge.
Cool van and video, Most people dont realize, all the weight is over the front axle and none on the drive wheel, i am a chevy g10 guy, i bought my first one a 65, got it home, parked it in the grass over night, next morning, just the dew on the grass and mine was stuck, couldnt believe it, Later found outfrom another youtube chevy van guy, in 64 chevy put a heavy plate between the gas tank and rear bumper, just for traction, lol Just mean a good burnout vehicle!!! Lol... Good luck on it!!!
You go Chad !!!Just so awesome to watch cause you do great work getting things run!!!You have great determination.Keep them coming!!!!!?All be blessed this Christmas season!!!!!??🎄
Spoke too soon and looked like a doomus I went to comment and ask for a pressure washing video and should’ve just waited and known that you’d deliver thank you for the incredible content again sir
quality content like usual. I look forward to saturday mornings. I am only 34 and my knees are already junk. Especially my right one. After working all week, I am unable to get out of bed this morning without wanting to scream in pain. So, I know how you feel.
Well, well, well, thanks Chad for another great Saturday morning!! Your videos always put a smile on my face and are a great way to start the weekend!! Great to see the old van on deck again. Hard to kill those Old Ford 6 cylinders!!
I owned a 64 Econoline van and I have the same engine of larger displacement in the 66 Falcon I drive, so this is a cool one. I did a complete tune up while sitting in the drivers seat. As far as automotive engines go, they are probably the easiest to work on. My high school used them for teaching in the shop class. They had about a half dozen of them back in the 70s. Can't believe your local store didn't have a starter in stock. Ford used that same block right through the 80s in a lot of cars. My local store in the middle of nowhere had a carb kit sitting on the shelf for me when I needed it. I replaced my starter the same day as well. If they can't find a listing for parts, just ask for Mustang parts. They used the same engine. They will always have a listing for a Mustang. No surprise you had trouble backing out. From experience, they have terrible traction. Even Ford knew that and put a huge chunk of steel over the gas tank to put weight on the back. Even with the extra weight they are terrible.
In love watching your videos and I can feel how you feel when you work on something and things take you longer , but I love the way you laugh at yourself as I do the same this from New Zealand
It's just AMAZING what you can actually get to START after decades of being let to rot out in the woods!!! That old jelopy in Fat Albert's junkyard can actually be made to not only start, but RUN !!!
That was awesome video you made the old fella very happy .you bring back memorys from my childhood years .i say this for a lot subscibers .cant wait for next resurrection take care tim
You worked your magic and wallah!! it runs it drives and it looks like a van again. I take my hat off to you for making a fantastic video in the process. God Bless you and yours through this Christmas season Keep well and warm and of course fed up on goodies , Stu in Canada..............
In 1985 I bought a white '67 Econoline Supervan that had spent its previous life as a plumbing van. It was unusual as there was a dual barn type door on either side and in the back with no glass except windshield and front doors. My girlfriend and I took a 3 month 9 state road trip in that thing with no problems. After running out of cash, we worked along the way when we needed money for gas and groceries. Saw many memorable sights from hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon to her winning a jackpot at a grocery store in Reno to driving the PCH to snowboarding in Summit Co. and meeting some cool people along the way. That van cost me $500 back then, dirt cheap for memories that money can't buy. BTW, I cooked a few foil wrapped meals ie (hamburger patties & fried potatoes & onions)or canned stew on the exhaust manifold while driving. When you could smell that the food was close to done rising from the doghouse (engine compartment) you knew it was time to pull over and eat. Just remember, if you are heating canned food on the manifold, poke a small hole in the top...when a can of chili overheats and explodes💥 it leaves one hell of a mess around the motor and in your underwear!
One really good way to magnetize your screwdrivers, wrap a wire around your screwdrivers a bunch of times like a coil from one end to the other and tap a 12 Volt battery.. Instantly magnetized!😜Some old timer taught me that years ago it works really good
Huge acknowledgement for you to pay props to Roadkill! I have been watching them since day one, and now with Roadkill Garage and Roadkill Gold..... Yep!
Hello From Mark In Kentucky. Seeing that van takes me back several years to my childhood in which the telephone company had many of those vans as well as many of the plumbing contractors and several other businesses in the Lexington Ky area. I am a huge fan of the Inline 6 cylinder engines and I really enjoyed your video.
I sent a earlier comment l bought 66 ford van off a painter back in 1989 the van was a telephone repair van for Lexington ky the orginal color was orange inside painted black outside cool van
My grandfather had one of these around '70. Got in a bad accident it got wrote off I think. I believe he had the panel version a lot less windows lol. Your videos rock. Laid back straight forward get er done approach. 👍👌👊 keep up the great videos. Take care.
Look at that tree grown around the old girl! That's a good one. You know they've been there a minute. Loved the Marvin the martian voice at the 1 hour mark
My wife and I bought a 1960 something van very much like this one except ours had an auto trans. We bought it from a used car dealer in 1977. It was an interesting vehicle that gave me many opportunities to learn how to fix a Ford. Eventually sold it after a couple of years but sure would like to have it now.
I had a 69 and 72 Econoline, both died of body cancer, but the engines were solid. The 69's master cylinder fell off first, then the steering box. The 72's steering box fell off just before the driver's side door mounts rusted off! Victims of Canadian winters and salted roads. Over 50,000 miles on backwoods logging roads beat them down.
That's what my dad had back in the '60's! I used to sit on the engine cover, no seat belt, no airbags just windshield to catch you in a wreck! Cool find!
Only live once😏
Ahh !! The good old days!🙂
My pops had one also. I was sitting on my moms lap on the passenger side. Pops made a hard left and for some reason, mom and I fell out LoL. I'll never forget it. The good ole days
Same here, that was the best seat in the winter time.
Had a 64 , was in our shop ready to get painted,, guy needed cash, got it for like 800 bux after it got painted,,, drove the snot out of it …lots of cool trips with friends that unfortunately aren’t around anymore,,
Nice! A 1964 Econoline was my first vehicle, bought used in 1970 for $65. The sound of that engine sure brought back memories!
That's about 500 bucks in today's money. You can't get so much as a rust eaten frame for that these days.
Anyways we cut the floor out of the van to pull the motor and transmission..
After seeing the wear inside the cylinders and considering it’s sat for over 40 years, that van runs great!
Chad....
You can't possibly put these videos out fast enough!

I hope you are able to keep it. My Dad had a 69 dodge A100 3 on the tree straight six. These rigs run forever.

You are a great host. With a great channel!
You don't show the wishy washy crap that a lot of the other channels have, and I thank you for that.
I'm just glad that you got the old girl running again. It was fun watching. Good luck with the next one.
I love the way you find the old good ones & even though you struggle sometimes, it keeps it real. Keep up the great work!
Good to see you Fella
Always a solid hour-plus of entertaining nostalgia!
Thats awsome..great to see the old van moving again
I have a soft spot for the Fords from the early 60s. Thanks for giving them a new lease on life!

hi chad after seeing the wear inside the cylinders and considering its sat for over 40 years glad you got the van running great fella
That was cool. I did a 66 Dodge decades back, set 15 years. Drove it 40 miles home. Gave it away but I sure wish I could find one like it again
In love watching your videos and I can feel how you feel when you work on something and things take you longer , but I love the way you laugh at yourself as I do the same this from New Zealand
Great recovery. I know how you feel with ya knees. I can’t work on my keens at all. Thanks for the video ❤

Thanks for another great engineering class !
(I miss my 1985 F150 four speed short bed pick up with it's inline six....and the same firing order).
😎
Yep!
Best show going!
Hello From Mark In Kentucky. I used to own one same motor, drove it for years. Does me good to see one again.
Look at that tree grown around the old girl! That's a good one. You know they've been there a minute. Loved the Marvin the martian voice at the 1 hour mark
Great vid, thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
Fantastic ! I really enjoyed watching this video - the truck was made in the same year that I was born
Woo hoo!!! Friday is now complete!

I love those old vans! I had a 67 and my brother had a couple 68s
Pretty amazing shape for as long as it sat. Good job and another great episode.
6 in a row - love to see it go. Nice video.
@ 51:15 I am Wondering why the Fan on the Crank isn't Moving? Cool Project and I like the Radiator Modification.
The front looks cool
I’ve had a ‘62, ‘65 & ‘67. I only have two now. One for parts, one running (mostly) 😁
I love watching your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them :)
I drove one of those when I was in the Navy quite a bit. 13'" Wheels and in high winds it was a handfull!
