    Very interesting results with test setup - Ventus TR 5S and Cobra LTDX LS head

    Great content! Do you plan on testing the new Ventus TR Red and TR Black?

      Thanks Purrly, and yes I've got them coming next week 👍

      Heck yeah! Not sure what weight and flexes you are getting.. but similar to this test- I think we would be awesome to see TR black 5x VS TR blue6x.

    Looks fine to me. Love the tech info and enjoy learning more about the shafts. ⛳️🏌🏻👏🏻

    Just gone into a ventus black 6s in driver and massively tightened up dispersion and a bit more distance. Want to get a ventus for my 3 wood, will get fitted, but question on weight...why do pros go heavier on the 3w shaft then heavier again on the next club

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Control and swingweight which again ties into control. We get heavier throughout the bag consistently as the further down the bag we go the more emphasis on control there is. Driver has one purpose, hit it far, and yes there has to be an element of control there but if the emphasis wasn't entirely on distance we could hit 3 wood, hybrid or even 4 iron. So there's always an element of risk so we need the speed to optimise distance in this club.
      I personally don't have an issue with playing the same weight in driver and 3 wood but again there's multiple variables to consider whether or not that would be the best thing for you to do. Those being, strength, tempo, miss, and what the club is used for.

    Can anyone let us know if this video seems poor quality? It does when I watch it back but the video before being uploaded looks fine...

      Quality is fine but not so great. Nice content! One question: What is the swing speed recommendation for each shaft? I know you are 110mph SS; but for 105mphSS, shall I use 6s? or 5X?

      sorry Paul only just seen this 😅 when it comes to profile I'd say swing speed is not that important really. Your tempo matters more (so how quick you are in transition and therefore how much you affect the shaft, obviously the harder you load it the better off you would be with the blackz if you are smoother possibly the blue would be better) but it's also how you react to the the profile, and therefore what it does to your miss. Recommending shafts is something I really don't agree with I think you just need to get fitted and test them out. But yeah swing speed really for the most part irrelevant in that particular equation. In terms of the weight unless you are super quick in transition I'd go 5 over 6. Play the lightest you can control.

    Hi, do you know which Ventus shaft has the highest balance point? Thanjs

      With the same head the swingweights are:
      Black: D2.1
      Blue: D2.3
      Red: D2
      TR: D2.1
      So basically no different mate

    Would be interested in seeing the CPM of the Ventus Blue compared to Blue TR.

      Think I have done this somewhere. But I'm certain the TR is about 5 cpm stiffer 👀

    how would the blue compare to a ADDI

  • @kidze31
    @kidze31 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi how do these compare to Tensei AV?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In general the AV Raw shafts are pretty stout in the butt section so play reasonably strong. For example when comparing the Ventus Blue 6 X with the AV Raw Blue 60 X the Ventus is almost a flex and a half softer in terms of CPM, so it will feel quite a bit softer. The AV Raw Blue actually CPMs the same as the Ventus Black. So even though the AV Blue will be softer in the mid section and tip section, the fact it's very stiff in the butt and has a wide butt diameter makes them play very boardy. So it would be a big feel difference mainly. Again would need more specific models to compare more directly with each other

    Mate don’t you think your launch and delivered loft is a bit high? Maybe go down loft a touch more

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the spin loft is a little wide mate but that was using the max LS head turned down as much as I could, so it was set at 8*.
      My actual driver is the Cobra LTD X LS which delivers less dynamic loft at impact than the Callaway.
      I just like to switch it up in tests and use different heads rather than always using the Cobra 😂

      Trying to get more speed from a marginally lighter shaft generally doesn't work or it's very marginal. Switching to the Cobra head would have made more of a difference than the shaft weight. I just prefer the feel of slightly lighter and softer. Just find I hit it a bit better
