    My son, a college golfer, is playing the Ventus blue. He got fitted by a top fitter and ended up in a S flex tipped 3/4 inch even though his swing speed is close to 120. He loves this shaft too. He likes the smooth feel and control he gets from it.

    What with Ian & Mikey being videoed in the dark - did Club Champion forget to pay the electricity bill?
    Yes I miss the chemistry of Matt & Ian, but TXG is still the best, most independent source of properly tested information on golf clubs & shafts

    Regarding testing, i’m interested in knowing the differences across the HZRDUS line. There are many different products there, so seeing something on that would be valuable. Thanks.

    Shafts are often overlooked when people go shopping for golf equipment, so I’m glad we (hopefully) will get more comparisons for more shaft product lines down the road. That said, I love that Ventus Blue and Ventus TR is more on “feel”. It just means more options for the average golfer. You said it best, Ian: Ventus Black is a very niche market, and so is the Ventus Blue. I feel like this is for those who are stuck in-between.
    Thanks!

      @@Chyeahokay... Mike has no charisma. It's just the ugly truth. People have different social styles and strengths. The camera is not one of his. He's too monotonous, and boring. Not a knock on his knowledge, or being a good fitter... He might get better, but he will never get like Matty boy, or someone who has a dynamic personality. It's not in his dna, and the flow and dialog suffers in contrast to Matt

    Would love to learn more about "loft as a crutch" as someone who's constantly fitted into the lowest loft heads. Great review and really liked the addition of Ryan and what he brings to the process. I'm currently playing the Ventus Black 6S in my driver and Blue 80S in my hybrid. The idea of some black stability with more feel sounds really interesting.

      I have both a black and blue in 70s I have always played the lowest lofted head. But a fitter outside of my stander fitter (actually a TM fitter on a tour truck) pointed out to me that I’m losing to much ball speed trying to hit up. He actually pointed out DJs swing and how his Attack Angle with the driver is steep, which is why he plays a higher lofted driver over the typical bombers 4-8° heads. I swung a few shots with an 10.5° at 11° and my entire world was rocked. Because of my speed, nobody has ever put a higher lofted driver in my hands. It’s worth exploring, my smash went up, my spin went down. I don’t have to try and force my swing up on contact. I just deliver the head. I don’t know if that’s what he’s trying to get at, but I can say as a guy who swings 123 on average a higher lofted driver has actually improved a lot of my game.

    Great video. Very informative. In my opinion, this particular video had a great deal of 'relatable' content for me personally. In addition to your unpacking of the three different Ventus shaft models, the side-topic of using low launch 'as a crutch' was something that was valuable to hear.
    Ryan, well done. Steeping into the spotlight in the 'here and now' takes some courage. Ian and Mikey, well done. I for one, continue to appreciate the information that TXG is sharing. Looking forward to more quality content as we go forward in 2022.

    Talking costs of the Ventus line, I've heard the UST Proforce V2 can work as a poor man's Ventus. I had a 60X in a Srixon 565 and I wasn't much for the feel but it was an accurate rocket launcher for sure. Had it playing at 44". May try a tipped one at 45" for fun. Also, good work by Barath. Enjoyed his MyGolfSpy articles and TH-cam channel (when it was a thing).

The ventus is over rated in my opinion, i am very weak however and even though I get good numbers w the ventus, it feels terrible

      They did a stock Ventus vs Velocore video ages ago and touched on something like this question I recall. As an 80-90 golfer that’s gone from stock shaft to premium ventus it’s 100% been worth it for me and changed my long game completely

    • @NovaScene
      @NovaScene 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is many videos in TH-cam about that, the difference is very minimal in most cases since many club manufacturer already offer a shaft setup that's pretty good fit with the head. For example with Ping and Taylormade, you can get get fit so well you don't really need a $400 shaft on top. But many buy these shafts because they want to, they look and feel cool.

    • @scotts1691
      @scotts1691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NovaScene in my experience, none of the taylormade stock offerings worked for me but im more of a hitter with a very aggressive transition. . Ventus black brought my spin into a better window and helped out my super high launch. I did not purchase yet because I am going to look around and see what I can do about the insane cost of the stealth...might go to a PXG fitting as I can get their nicest driver with a $300 shaft for a stock Stealth price.
      The RDX red I really did like though and would certainly look to use that as a fairway wood shaft. It just launched higher and a bit more spinny.

    Totally agree with Ian on not using loft as a crutch. My swing speed is only 95-98, but I hit the ball high, so I end up using 9º and even turning down to 8º sometimes. But when I hit 10.5º or 11º I have to make the proper setup and body movements to keep the flight down and I end up making a better move through the ball. Then when I do that with the 9º the flight is where it "should" be for my speed, that is to say, too low. So I'm getting away with some inefficient movements with the lower loft, and the 10.5º shows what needs to be worked on!

    just venturing into a ventus for first time. Kinda saw a new element to shafts when I tried a Diamana TB. Stability was thru the roof for me with the 70tx. Got me thinking the ventus stability story might be worth checking out. Was in a Diamana DF/Fuji Pro 2.0 beforehand (a favorite on the channel, or used to be anyway).

    Always love Matty boy, and going to miss him…however, great job RB! For me, his swing speed is more mortal, and close to mine, so enjoy seeing that. Would LOVE to see something done on the black 5x. Since so many pros are dropping a weight class with this shaft, how does that work for us normal “60 gram” guys? Can we. Drop to a 50 g shaft because of the stability of black but pick up some speed? How about in TR? Great video gang!

    The dawn of a new era. Keep up the great reviews, TXG! Would love to see the Cobra Radspeed vs the new LTDx LS with a shaft like Motore or a Speeder. We all know what the Ventus can do, curious other options that could appeal to a wider range of us 100+ mph, but not quite 120mph Speed amateurs. Thanks again guys for all the tremendous insight!

    Why is the Ventus Blue Velocore not included in this comparison? I feel like this video missed the real purpose by not including all 3 Ventus Blue models.

    What driver head would you recommend for someone who liked the face of the original Sim? That shallow face really suited me and I can't find a new 8° Sim. I like hitting a 3 wood so maybe that's why I like the shallow faced driver head.

    Enjoyed the first look at the new TR! I've always wanted to test Ventus shafts, but I'm not fortunate enough to have a fitting center in my state with a selection of aftermarket shafts available to test. Options for new clubs are stock, stock upgrade (if in stock), or "buy before you try." I'm also very curious about Graphite Design shafts, for that matter... I've watched all your shaft review videos, but I've never seen a head to head comparison between the Ventus offerings and GD. Would this be a comparison video TXG would be willing to try? Cheers Boys 🍻

    Currently play the Ventus 6S and the more I play with it the more I like it. I am curious about the lighter 5S though. Would you be able to review the 5 S please?

    You mentioned that you would always tip a x flex shaft. Why would you tip this? I have a Blue 6x and a black 6s and I am exact position the person hitting. I am wondering if tipping the x would help optimize just a little more.

    Curious if you would typically fit a 108-110 SS into an X flex? I would have thought this was still solidly in the S flex range. Especially tipped it seems like in might be too stiff for the speed?

    Could you please make the set a bit brighter? This lighting makes it feel like the very early TXG videos again almost lacking some level of the production quality. Overall, very interesting topic and looking forward to all new content that TXG put out.

      It was filmed at night since we had to cancel Monday’s shoot due to a snow storm. The production quality will look (mind the pun) night and day different next week.

    Totally irrelevant to these shafts, but I’ve been curious about the role swing weight plays in conjunction with swing speed to achieve the greatest distance. A video testing that would be interesting to see. I play av raw white 75s and swing around 117-120 mph with driver. I think I’m at the top of d5 maybe d6 in swing weight. In theory dropping down to a 65 gram shaft would increase my swing speed, but would the loss of swing weight affect my overall distance?

    Do you guys know why the 50 gram series TR weighs less than original Ventus blue while the rest of the line is heavier?

    Ventus blue is great outside of when you get over 120+ on course it’s quite easy to over power and it’s gets a bad case of the lefts .. the TR seems to be stiffer in the butt which sounds like the go

    I need a new shaft for my PING G425, currently have Alta CB 55 Stiff. Swing speed 108-110. Getting too much trajectory, and balls goes left to right at times. I’m a left hander. Not sure what I should be trying??

    Just got the TR S6. Two range sessions and 9 holes in, and I totally dislike this shaft. I am going to give it a go tomorrow - 18 holes and go into it opened minded. Thus far, Tensei, Mitsubishi, and many others feel much better. I don’t like anything about it. Doesn’t feel good in transition, impact is thuddy with a loud ting. I’m just not there with this shaft but I am trying hard to like it. Swing speed is 105-110. Handicap around 10/12.
