This Quiesta pillow arrives well presented packed into a clear, zipped carry bag with twin handles and a zip to one end. It is reusable but probably not for the pillow because, once released, it puffs to about three times its compressed size.
Once released from its packaging, a shake, some pumelling and fluffing-up expands it from its tightly compressed size to about 4 times larger creating a luxuriously soft pillow of 63 x 40cm and 18cm thick. The enclosed instruction leaflet advises leaving the pillow for up to 24 hours before its first use to allow the compressed memory foam to fully expand, helped further by breaking apart the memory foam chunks so it takes shape faster.
Once refreshed and expanded, the pillow is ready for use. It is luxuriously soft to use and my head sank heavily into it yet felt fully supported. Lying on my stomach was less comfortable on just the first night because I felt my head had sunk in a little too far making clear breathing difficult but by the second night, the 18cm loft had reduced to a much more comfortable 12cm (approx) and it has remained dreamily comfortable at the same height for the following month. Now it has settled, I feel it is ideally suited to any front, back or side-sleeper including a sleeper who frequently changes position during the night and it will accommodate such changes while providing support to the head and neck. It's also good for anyone with night sweats because it remains cool and fresh through the night and this will probably apply when used in warm/hot weather too. Although initially the 18cm thickness and loft felt high and took a little getting used to after a more usual 10cm pillow, this quickly settled. For anyone who finds it too high initially, try sitting on it and don't fluff it too much after use.
I have used the pillow for a month so far, fluffing it up just slightly weekly. During this month of testing the loft has reduced and it is now down to 8cm at its edges and about 12cm at its peak which is closer to a standard size. An hour after rising, I can feel just a slight, smooth indentation in the pillow where it has moulded itself to my head so, although not as excessively puffy as the first night, it is more comfortable after adapting to me. I feel it may lose a little more loft over the coming year but continue to adapt to my head-shape as it does, so this is no loss. I will continue to use the pillow and report on any further changes in a review update in 6 months or so.
The pillow is very well made with neat stitching and finishing, with a zipped, removable 60% polyester and 40% bamboo cover giving an optimum combination of performance and cool breathability. The cover label states 'Outer cover wash only' yet has all washing symbols crossed through suggesting it isn't washable, which is confusing. Of course, the foam core is not washable, which I would expect and is common to all memory foam pillows. I used mine within a bamboo pillowcase - it was a tight squeeze initially due to the loft so I gave in and used the pillow case on top of the pillow for the first night before the puffiness reduced. Thereafter it has fit snuggly into a standard case. In common with other memory phone pillows, there was a slight odour on the first night but this quickly faded and wasn't noticeable by the second night.
The pillow is expensive and, although on opening it I could see it was a superior quality, I was still dubious re whether it would perform significantly better than other memory foam or other pillows to justify the cost. Having tested it nightly for a month, I am extremely happy with it, find it very supportive for both my head and neck yet soft and comfortable and, in reality, once I've placed my head on it, I've actually almost forgotten I'm testing a new product. It is a pillow which moulds to fit the sleeper rather than a pillow which bounces back to shape and this makes it very much more comfortable than others I've used. It is undoubtedly very well made and I feel it's a pillow which is going to last for years. It stands far apart from other memory foam pillows using a single slab of foam, is a world apart from saggy feather pillows, doesn't become thin and clumpy like polyester and is quite simply supremely comfortable, unlikely to disappoint and I would highly recommend it.

Good review. I have recently purchased a Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow and it is the nicest pillow that I have ever used. I previously had a tempur Memory Foam pillow for 2 years but since I have purchased the Quiesta pillow I haven’t used it. Thinking of purchasing one for my mum for her birthday so it’s great to see that you like it as well.
