When the Queen mother died in 2002, I was a boy and I saw in the news that "Queen Elizabeth of England died", so I thought it was Queen Elizabeth II that passed away. And when I saw the British monarch alive I thought "hadn't she died? Did the queen resurrected? Is she a ghost? (after all, I was just a little boy at the time) and only later I realised it was her mother that died (I'm not from England or the UK so I didn't know about her family).
Malcolm, something you would no doubt cherish in years to come, proud memories indeed sir. As an Australian with Scottish heritage, I find myself repeatedly coming back to watch the massed pipes and drums tribute to the Queen Mum at her funeral. Absolutely stirring stuff. Kind regards.

I have always had a very deep respect for her Royal Highness the Queen mother... She remained with her subjects even after Buckingham Palace was bombed by the Luftwaffe...

Sad that Newsreels are not shown in theaters anymore. British Pathe and British Movietone produced great Newsreels covering world events. All the earlier Royal funerals on TH-cam before this one were done by Movietone & Pathe. Movietone was bought by the Associated Press and Pathe is an Archive. Why don’t the makers of hearses design a higher backed hearse so that there can be a raised deck , this would allow the coffin drape to hang over the edges and not be trapped beneath the coffin
