I sympathise. She wasn't just one woman. She was Britannia personified and when she died, our Country died along with her. Look at it now, a festering bastardised rock in the Eastern Atlantic and that's all that can be said for our future now.

The Queue was one of the most gruelling and difficult things I've ever put myself through, but it was completely worth it. The moment I stepped into Westminster Hall, all the fatigue, the hunger, the pain in my feet and my aching muscles just...went away. For a moment there was an incredible peace. A sad peace, but still...it's the holiest and most spiritual moment of my life to date.

Three of the four members of my family made exactly the same journey - round about eighteen hours for us. Words cannot describe my feelings going into that blessed place. Strangely enough, I'd spent much of the time walking expecting to be holding back an ocean of tears when I got in there. Didn't happen; the sense of wonderment overtook all else. I'd also had it fairly clear in my head of what I was going to do when facing her coffin. When the moment came, the most appropriate thing I could think to do was a two or three second bow. It didn't seem a sufficiently adequate show of respect at all considering who it was laid five feet in front of me. You, likewise, have my respect, sir, for finding the strength to endure. And it really did take some strength to do it. I must say, they might have chosen something a little less troublesome than those ghastly plastic walkways in the last mile!

I did not expect her death to affect me, but it really did. She represented continuity; a connection to events from earlier in her reign and in her life, and the station of Queen (or King) being a connection going back much farther. This type of continuity is literally the glue that holds civilization / culture together, and in a time when a lot of people want to create a new "year zero" and erase the past, it's more important than ever. RIP and greetings from Canada.

Of every video on TH-cam, this is the one I keep going back to every other evening. There is something almost beautiful about the ability to capture such a tragic loss within six minutes and it consistently brings me to tears. The weight of history captured in this video is overwhelming and the thought that we are witnessing an end to the monarchy of the old world is so powerful. God Save The Queen. She was a symbol of stability and learning from the past to adapt to this modern world. Regardless of your thoughts on the royal family, this was a woman who had not only witnessed, but had been involved with the vast majority of events and decision making moments of our recent history and we are lesser without her guidance. Truly historic. Sleep well Queen, and thank you.

I Vow to Thee My Country...there is no better music to reflect her solemn vow that she made to us on her 21st birthday and that she fulfilled so flawlessly until the day she died. May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest, Glorious Majesty.

As an American I'm not supposed to support royalty, but this woman was different. For what it's worth I miss her being there. Had I been English she would have been the only monarch I'd known. And oh, those corgis and the horse being present, that almost brought tears to my eyes.

As an Indian, even though we have terrible history. The Queen was a genuinely nice lady, and always cared for not just her own people, but everyone in the world as well.
Her passing seems to mark the end of the old post World War 2 world...
She was like the unofficial Grandma of Earth, from an empire that once ruled the Earth

      What a lovely response. 😊
She was indeed - my grandmother got an MBE from her, and after her death and that of my grandfather, she sent me a letter of condolence. Since it was a time when most of my friends were too distracted by politics of Brexit and Trump to notice, I'll never forget that.

Was the 200 years of British-Indian history really more "terrible" than the previous 2000 years of Indian history?
      Taking all into account?
