    I was lucky enough to meet the Queen Mother when she visited town several times and was at her Laying in State and funeral processions and see her and the family at Sandringham. She was a truly amazing woman, we idolised her and she was everyones grandma.

Cheap lifestyle and total lack of any notion of class. Living off the state or petty crime in some cases. If you call them a 'Chav' they would not take it as an insult, but a mark of respect.
      It is an insult to one that is not a chav. I suspect there is a similarity with the American term 'Trailer trash'

      My error. I watched the clip of her passing being announced, and the announcer said she had passed 'in her 102nd year'. Nonetheless, for both women to have lived to see their 100th birthdays has to be a very unique distinction, don't you think?

    • @BOB1974_
      @BOB1974_ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      David Young Yeah, she was technically in her 102nd year but we all start at 0 so our number of years is always one more than our numerical age. But yes, it is cool. It's also cool that even if Elizabeth II doesn't live that many years, in my lifetime I was still able to see the longest reigning British monarch. The greatest percentage of my ancestral DNA comes from Great Britain.

      Queen Elizabeth the 2nd is the Monarch (the King). There can be only one Monarch (King). Therefore the husband of the Queen is called Prince. If he would have the title King than it would be contradicting with the fact that the Queen is actually the King.

      Queen Elizabeth (the Queen mother) was a wife to a Reigning King thus she's Queen consort.
      Queen Elizabeth II on the other hand is a Reigning Queen thus his husband is only a Prince consort. (Prince Philip can't have the title King because that would mean he's higher in status than the Reigning Queen)

    I can't believe they took the opportunity to talk and talk and talk and talk instead of just watching the procession and listening to the sad and mournful music. Such inane questions all the time. This could easily have been left to another time. Some people have absolutely no sense of propriety. Is it really important to know now why they are wearing a blue sash ?

    If The Queen lives as long as her mother 101 Charles will be 79 when he becomes King I doubt very much he will not be King unless he dies before The Queen if he does live out The Queen and he will by right become King 79 these days is not really old he will most probably have Prince William to help him out.

      Nope, the title Duchess of Cornwall is reserved for the wife of the Duke of Cornwall, whih is always the male heir to the throne. When Charles becomes King, William becomes Duke of Cornwall, Catherine will be known as Duchess of Cornwall. Camila will be HM The Queen, unless Parliamentry Act says otherwise. Charles and Camilla have said though that she will be known as Princess Consort. But by law, the wife of the King is Queen.

    Quite simple really. The word "Queen" comes from the Old English "cwen" which meant wife. The title "Queen " can only be applied to the single female descendant of a monarch in descent. Similarly the title "Princess" can only be deferred upon the female offspring of a monarch. There was NEVER a Princess Diana! So... I beg that sycophants get their genealogical facts right!!!

    No, because she is technically illegitimate. She already married one man and got divorced. So Charles gave up the throne to William. It will skip Charles. Only the Sovereign and other excellent people can get state funerals. Camillia won't even have a funeral as beautiful and ceremonial as this.

    I understand the title of princess can only be deferred to upon the female offspring of a monarch, does that include direct line, such as Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie. I do know that Diana, as with Sarah or Sophie, are EX: Diana, Princess of Wales, or as Princess Michael of Kent. HRH can come before their name but their titles always follow their names or take their husbands? Correct
