I have learned so much from Cam! I use his videos all the time! I have a 10 year old rottweiler male that is diabetic so I am careful with what I feed him now. I make homemade wet dog food and have found and bought better quality dry dog food (searched so many websites & found that Orijen is best!). He loves quinoa and the lean meats! He also loves yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash, spinach and carrots! Thank you Cam for all the tips! Also I recently bought a "power powder" for senior dogs that have so many nutrients that he needs!

To add, I have also used ground egg shells, poached or boiled or raw eggs, liver (loves so much!) and salmon!

I noticed that the Dog Food recipe ingredients are slightly different from those I downloaded from your You Tube site. Are they both OK. By the way my little Lhaso Apso now eats all her food. I have stopped worrying about her eating enough now. Thank you Cam

Thank you so much for making this video, it is very easy to follow however chicken right now is about eight dollars a pound for chicken breast so I wait until the lean ground beef is on sale and I buy lots and I freeze it. if turkeys go on sale I will also buy a whole turkey cook it and grind it up .I give him 3/4 cup of meat and a cup of vegetables which consists of carrots sweet potatoes green beans peas and 2 tablespoons of yogurt, in the morning I add a heaping tablespoon of coconut oil and in the evening I give him the same amount only have organic olive oil. that’s breakfast and supper for lunch I gave him an apple and whatever other fruit I have plus I give him a can of sardines and every three days I give him raw liver at lunchtime and then I wait an hour and give him his fruit. he also has one egg which I lightly cook the whites and not the yolk.He loves raw vegetables and when I’m making supper I always give him some to munch on now I will make sure that his broccoli is cooked a little bit . I find this year he is slowing down and sometimes he’s slower getting up but he still loves to run and play so I was wondering if there is a supplement that I could give him and do you think he’s getting enough food I will add some more of the stuff that you were preparing in your recipes. you can feel his ribs and his spine but because he is so big I would rather keep him on the slim side.Is there anything else that you could recommend to add to his diet .Thank you

Thanks Cam, I share your videos quite a lot on Facebook as I’m an Admin for two Educational Dog groups so thank you for your recipes, reviews and advice 😊
In saying this, I am searching for one of your videos where you touch on how long to wait after feeding a raw meal before allowing a dog to give a human kisses for fear of bacterial concerns?
I know I saw it somewhere but I’m struggling to locate it so I would be very grateful for the information 🙏🏻🐾

Thank you for all the helpful guidance regarding feeding a balanced and healthy diet to your dog using fresh ingredients and cooking them. This appeals to me but also know that I would need a backup at times, what about a raw diet, can you mix with a home cooked diet? Can you do a review of raw products? Thank you

I love your videos and your approach makes so much sense to me. HOWEVER, since I transitioned my Buster to a carnivore diet, he has had diarrhea! Any suggestions? Or is it back to kibble for him.

I'd try an elimination diet to work out which protein works best for Buster. Sounds like he could have an intolerance

I have 2 senior dogs 14 years old, need to lose 2 or 3 pounds. One is handicapped with weakness in his back legs, he came from my elderly brother. Any food suggestions.

I'm not sure this is the best way to transition a dog from processed food to raw. I used this method to transition my own dog about three years ago. It did not go well. He had very loose stools for nearly five days straight. If he hadn't been getting better by day 4 I might have taken him to the vet or worse, gone back to processed food. Since then I've transitioned 2 other dogs and for them I did a 24 hour fast. A final evening meal of kibble, no food then only water until evening meal the next night's fully raw. Neither of these dogs had so much as a single runny bowel movement.

Thanks for this, Cam. Questions for you... I have a 9 week old puppy coming home who's been on dry food with his breeder. Is it OK to transition him using this process at this age?

I feed my dog a fresh food diet. Does this need transitions of just different proteins or vegetables?

Currently, my GR puppy is on fresh food twice a day and kibbles once a day. He is 6 months old. I want to move to raw food, when is the good time to transition to Raw food?

I’m transitioning my dog from fresh food (The Farmers Dog) to kibble (Orijen) because it is getting expensive. I will be putting her back on fresh food when I get out of the situation I’m in so don’t worry. I have been giving my 10 month old Rottweiler about %20 portions of kibble in her fresh food and she seemed fine. Once I increased it the next day about %40 she started to throw up and have explosive diarrhea. I came here to learn what I did wrong and I’m not too sure what I did, could she just have food intolerance even tho she was perfectly fine when I was only giving her about %20?
