seeing you drive around makes me so happy! i have the same car as you but with 161000 miles on her and following your journey makes me motivated to want to do more. i think i may stick in the aesthetic realm of things since she’s having some compression issues which makes me sad since of course i want to make her more fun to drive with added power but i don’t want her to give out on me one day. it’s definitely a 50/50 shot at the moment. for now coils, exhaust and cold air intake might be what i can do and see where she ends up after those. wish me luck!

my 2012 rolla got wreck recently last year in December i was wallowing in self pity, my lady and my son were tryig to cheer me up for weeks its different when its people that care about you. Now I got a Corolla S now, and watching your journey for this Rolla, makes me want to start all over again so thanks for that my guy.

You've motivated me to modify mine. Just recently started getting black interior parts to do an interior swap at my local junk yard. Picked up my center console in black for only 27 bucks with some carobn fiber pieces. Hopefully this summer coming up I'll get my body kit. Actually maybe you can help, I purchased the after market led taillights for my Corolla, however the small part that has the reverse lights also has led brake light but it’s not plug and play, it’s 2 wires one black one green and no instructions unfortunately, any idea or siggestions
@@BIGE2333 sounds like you got the altis tail lights, I’m not the most familiar with them. But I’m assuming those wires are to light up the inner part of the tail light.
Seems like you will need to splice the wires into the normal tail light. One seems like a ground, and the other seems like a power you will tap into the taillight power.

Well this is a turbo car now! So it sounds much better then a NA car!
Saw the title and hoped I didn’t jinx you from the conversation on the last video 🤞if you can baby that clutch until you’ve got an lsd lined up you’ll save a lot of hassle and labor down the road. I don’t know if you’ve put fresh motor mounts in lately but some stiffer replacements will help keep the power going to the wheels instead of torquing the block.
And I know it doesn’t help a lot because we’re like 4 states apart, but I am a professional welder and I’ve done a good bit of performance exhaust work. I can at least offer to answer any questions you have about a setup though.
I don’t think you jinxed me, it’s just an old original clutch. Kind of knew i was going to need to replace it.
Driving normal the clutch engages fine. It’s just when I go to accelerate fast, definitely is slipping.
New motor mounts will help a bunch, so that will probably be coming soon too.
But when I get to the exhaust, and I got some questions most likely will hit you up for some answers. Really appreciate it!

The kit came from turbokits.com and so far it’s been good. I’m only on the base tune and need to get an actual dyno tune. But for the whole kit is was about $4200.

How much do you care about the exhaust smell or that check engine light?
You’ll need a cat to deal with them, with your current setup. Probably look into something like a 3” Magnaflow cat for 49 state. The drone is handled by a resonator. Vibrant has a pretty good reputation and are affordable and on eBay.
I’d say run 3” out of the down pipe, back to the rear axle and then have it split into duals. Keep the Borla and adapt a 2nd one for the other side.
Yeah the exhaust smell isn’t bad. I just turn the recirculate button on the car so It don’t get in the cabin. 😂
But I plan on doing something just to calm it down a little bit, so I don’t attract the unwanted!
But I actually had thoughts about re using my Borla. And adapting it to the 3 inch!

Hi there, I have a 2020 Corolla SE automatic. My question is, if I turbocharge my car will the transmission be able to hold the power?
Not very familiar with the new corollas, but if it’s the new 2.0L engine, I have heard they do not handle boost very well!
Yeah the M20A is too high compression for forced induction. They do still sell some Corollas with the 2ZR-FAE. The FAE head and cams are different which might cause issues with fuel delivery. I've seen them make 300hp though if you have the engine knowledge to hack it together.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you got a corolla! With bolts on and a tune, it will make the car faster then stock. But not really fast.
But if you put a turbo on the corolla, that will make it much faster and a lot of fun!
How has the mpg changed since the mods
I don’t know how accurate it is now. But it’s saying I’m getting 38 MPG on the screen. Not sure if it’s accurate or not!

I still need to get a dyno tune, but the base tune should be around 200-230HP to the wheels.
Why cant you just put the borla exhaust back on?
I have to cut up my old exhaust and go from a 3 inch to a 2 inch exhaust. So I need to get adapters. I might put my old exhaust on just for now, so it’s not to loud.
But for a turbo setup it’s best to keep a 3 inch exhaust all the way back.

I haven’t done a full launch, but I’m probably between 5-6 seconds. As soon as I get a new clutch I will try a good 0-60 test!

The CVT will grenade. You'd need to swap to a manual or old torque converter auto.

This kit adds about 90-100 HP. So right now I’m around the 250HP to the crank. And probably around 200HP to the wheels!
