    Installed my strut bar late last year and I must say it's a noticable improvement on the driving experience. Glad I did it especially for how cheap it is. Installing it was a pain though.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah for the cost it looks and feels so much better then the stock one! But the bolts definitely are a pain to get out!
      That’s why I would recommend a decent impact and a breaker bar!

      Just for everyone reading, use PB penetrating oil first. Spray those bolts down for a few days to really marinate those bolts and it'll be easier.

    A sway bar, also known as a stabilizer bar or anti-roll bar, is a component in a vehicle's suspension system. It connects the left and right wheels to reduce body roll during cornering, helping to keep the vehicle stable and improve handling.

      That is good information on how these work, and what they are for!

    In my experience a front strut tower bar increases the precision of the steering.
    The rear sway bar needs to be broken in. After it's broken in that's when you start to feel the improved rotation when you take a corner.
    Driving over gutters and uneven roads is when you notice how much chassis flex you lose and the car starts to pick up a wheel or I should say not allow the wheel to droop as much.
    Installing both at the same time makes it hard to explain the difference you feel.
    I started with the front strut bar. Then I added a rear strut bar....
    Next I did my struts and then finally I added the rear sway bar so I could experience the incremental changes.
    Then last I increased wheel size and performance tires.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s good to know what to look for! Yeah it would have been better to do them in sequence so I could feel the difference, but all I can say is the steering feels better and the body roll has gotten better from doing both of them!

  • @neontownescape
    @neontownescape ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very nice. I only have the rear strut brace installed, it felt noticeably stiffer right away. Waiting to get coilovers before I go with the front brace.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The coils overs make a big difference as well! They make the car much stiffer. Which is a good things and a bad thing depending on how you want your car to feel!

    • @neontownescape
      @neontownescape ปีที่แล้ว

      I drove around Fukuoka with a dude who has coil overs on his Auris, where you could twist a knob to make it stiff or soft.
      Tein or BC racing seem to be the choice for me when that time comes.

    That rear sway bar is notoriously hard to get out - a 9th gen Corolla TH-camr in northwest had a video about that.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I could imagine. Luckily mine came out in about 10-15 minutes a piece, working then back and fourth!
      But I couldn’t imagine an older and more rusty car. They would probably be a nightmare to take out.

    Can you put a link for your shifter boot I needa a nice one and love that leather one you have.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly it’s a a cheap shifter boot. It looks good from a far. But it’s cracking and peeing up. So I wouldn’t recommend it. It would just a universal one I got from eBay.
      I do need to find another one and replace it soon! But it’s actually hard to find nice quality ones!

  • @Motorsportsgeek
    @Motorsportsgeek ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice, I put a rear trd sway bar on my yaris pairs with lowering springs and kyb shock, its a go kart. If it had more power it would hold up in corners with my corvette, it was actually flatter in the corners before I put some bilstein struts on the vette. I need the engine to blow up so I can swap your 2zr with a turbo but these damn toyotas last forever.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah these Yaris’ are some pretty small cars! And you do some suspension work on them they probably handle better then a lot of cars on the road!
      And I know the Toyota energized never blow up! But once you out a 2ZR with a turbo it’s going to be a crazy fast car!

    Do you have any plans of putting a digital speedometer, cause I've been looking to get one but idk where to even start

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      That was actually something I was looking at. There are some universal options that usually plug into the OBD2 port.
      But if I find something that will work good, I will probably make a video about it!

  • @christianalfaro6895
    @christianalfaro6895 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I installed my strut bar, I HAD to remove the cowl and metal one because my box wrench couldn't even loosen the bolts. Were your bolts easy to unscrew?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine were not that bad, luckily I have had put coilovers on my corolla about 2 years ago. From what I remember, when I tried to loosen up the original bolts they were really hard to loosen.

  • @dylan.callahan04
    @dylan.callahan04 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where can i find your trunk spoiler i have a 18 Corolla and want a similar one

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the spoiler was a OEM style spoiler for the 10th gen corolla.
      It might work for the 11th gen, but I’m not that familiar with them!

    Is tinting your rear and front lights a thing your trying to do it'll look really nice

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my OEM tail lights I did tint them, but since then I have upgraded to my Altis tail lights. I do plan to tint them soon!
      As for the headlights, I like the look of tinting them, but I don’t want it to make my head lights not shine as bright!

    Is it possible to install a turbo on a 1.6l Lancer EX? Some people told me it's not worth it.
