    Technically speaking, I backed a little over 11 and a half years ago at the tail end of 2012. So forgive the oversight. In today's video I go over my experience with such a long development time and it's life cycle and what I think you should know about it.
    Additionally, when I talk about stepping away in 2018, I didn't state that during that time was a period in which I requested a refund, but a year later returned to my secondary account I had created in 2014. So, sadly I let go of my original account that had all of the additional perks with the crowdfunding and the ships I had purchased.

      I joined just before the hangar was released. Early/Mid-2013, I missed the Kickstarter train but was looking to enjoy some modded freelancer again and stumbled onto SC. 100% agree with you, Server Meshing and SQ42 should Soon(tm)... It’s an exciting time to be a Star Citizen!

    I remember the hanger module running around my connie, wondering what it would be like to fly it. I remember the first time I ran out of Port Olisar without a helmet. I remember the first time I rammed a pad rammer with my reclaimer. I remember locking down the original jump town and moving widow in a caterpillar.
    I remember all the bugs, all the hate, all the money I wish I hadn't spent from time to time. Im still waiting on that Banu Merchantman. But I also remember watching server meshing demonstrated for the first time and realizing we are turning the corner to realization.
    I own and Idris, and many other ships, and I regret nothing. Im glad to be along for the ride. When it's good, this game is like nothing else, and it's only going to get better.

      Witnessing server meshing work both in a video and on the shard I was playing was yet another core moment I had with Star Citizen that really blew my mind. I can't wait for it to be added so we can experience what it will really be like.

    The progress has been insane, if you don't believe that find a video of someone playing in 2.0 or the early years of 3.0. Yeah we haven't crossed the finish line but it was a LONG road to begin with

      Agreed! I remember sitting in the hangar module in my Constellation thinking about what it will be like to load into the verse and even just be able to go to a planet and land and witness the loading screen that would have been watching a cutscene of my ship auto land. To think that we've come this far that there's absolutely no loading screens like that is pretty insane.

    Greatness isn't fast , it isn't cheap ,and it is never easy . People will hate on you because they know they will never be great so why should SC try to be great . But SC believes someday it will be great and I believe that someday SC will be great and that's why I've spent over a decade and thousands of dollars on this hope and this belief .

      I can't afford to fund this game the way I want to, nor am I certain I want all those goodies readily and temptingly available - I want to have to work for them in the game. But I have been a backer for quite a While (2015/2016 ?). After an initial stint of plating many hours per day every day, I've found myself playing a few hours solid about once a year - just seeing how it's going, really.
      The SP game is why I backed; it's why I'm still here; it's what I'm almost certainly going to play for thousands of hours. But even the MP game is going to get some hours, and I *want* that game to exist; I want new generations of kids to grow up knowing and excited for games which are not just another fantasy dungeon crawl (even if sometimes those are a lot of fun).

      @CyberiusT I originally backed for SQ42 as well given that my roots are from Xwing Vs Tie Fighter and Wing Commander 3.

      I've only been backing for a couple years, but I've been following it since the Kickstarter. I'm in it for over a grand now and zero regrets. The vision is absolutely mind boggling and what they've accomplished so far already scratches an itch nothing else can even acknowledge exists. In it for the long haul and excited to see it come to life.

    1:59 - When "the scope and the vision of the game grew," it was because we (the players) said we wanted it to. The choice was given to the backers, to either have an ordinary game or attempt to build an entire game universe. I believe the backers voted 80-some percent in favor of the biggest, most ambitious game possible. I'm an "original backer" (backed during the initial 24 hour livestream, in October of 2012 (May the light of the blessed lamp ever shine upon you.)), and I've never regretted the choice we made, as a group. BDSSE, baby!

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely accurate. While many may not have had the foresight of what that all entailed and just how long it would take, the original and veteran backers voted for this with their hard earned cash and voices.
      Great comment! Thank you!

  • @michaelgiertz-rath7994
    @michaelgiertz-rath7994 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Amen.
    I'm with the game since July '13, so it's gonna be 11 years in a couple of days. I was there when the Hangar Modules was launched. I fought and defeated my first Vanduul fighter in the Arena Commander and I was there when Port Olisar was the very first space station in the new PU. I saw the first planets and moons introduced, new outposts and new gameplay. I saw my fair share of gamebreaking bugs and even went on hiatus multiple times, usually lasting only a couple of months.
    I think it was quite a rollercoaster ride for the better part of the past 11 years. I'll gonna enjoy the last part of it as it means: each step drews closer to the end. Especially since that end doesn't mean it's the end of Star Citizen, but it's mere beginning for everyone. CIG says they'll continue develop the game after release. Once SQ42 is done, they'll do two more parts, so that journey won't be over anytime soon too. And if Star Citizen is done right, it may be as long living as WoW or EVE - and even my kids will be able to play it one day.

    What drew me to SC the most was the desire to play a game that would last years instead of months.
    So many new games release to great acclaim, become the new hot thing, and are in decline within a year or two replaced by the new hot game. But I want long term engagement.
    Although development feels painful and painfully slow at times since I joinned February of 2020, I'm still glad to be a backer.
    The most challenging thing for me is having to learn new systems and functions as new releases drop. However I am glad to see new gameplay options open up with each passing year.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Same! There's a lot of great games out there, but they do tend to die after a year and SC is that long term engagement I wanted that I got back in the day with WoW. I want that again.

    • @ctzn3lack
      @ctzn3lack 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed! In 2013, I was sick of dumping money into monthly subs(like WoW or Eve Online) for an MMO that would just get stale and boring. Tried jumping between the free to play market(City of Heroes was the best i could find), but they were mostly built around P2W and wouldn't last either. I was longing to play some modded Freelancer to immerse myself in a universe I knew I could enjoy. That was when I stumbled onto SC, shortly before the hangar module was released and they started the stretch goals. I was hooked, nothing else compares, and I have been obsessed with its development for the last decade.

    Hour one backer/Golden Ticket holder here. Followed the game religiously for the first 7 years or so, usually one of the first people in game for every release/update. I just had to step back after a while, as the whole thing became exhausting. I now check in for the events and to check out new patches for a couple of hours or so to see new content, it's a fun tourist destination for occasional visits. Might actually try to play the game again when 4.0 hits.

    As a dedicated cargo hauler, I've noticed the increasing popularity of piracy as a gameplay feature. Surprisingly, I don’t mind it-piracy adds an exciting dimension to the game. However, there's a major concern that needs addressing: the unfair advantage pirates have when they attack traders in areas without comm stations. Currently, these attacks often go unpunished, and it's frustrating to be repeatedly ambushed by players this way and not being able to retaliate.
    To enhance gameplay fairness and balance, I propose an innovative solution: equipping the Cutlass Blue with a 10-20km comm station range. This would allow traders to hire Cutlass Blue pilots for protection. The presence of a Cutlass Blue could enable traders to send out a distress signal with a single button press during an attack, providing a fair chance for assistance. This feature would add a strategic layer for both traders and pirates, where pirates would need to first disable the Cutlass Blue to prevent the distress signal from being sent.
    Incorporating this idea could significantly improve the gameplay experience. Traders would feel more secure, knowing they have a viable means of calling for help, while pirates would face a more balanced challenge. If the pirates manage to disable the Cutlass Blue, the gameplay reverts to its original state, maintaining the risk and excitement of piracy.
    This solution not only enhances fairness but also enriches the game’s strategic depth. It's a win-win for both cargo haulers and pirates, fostering a more engaging and dynamic in-game environment.
    What do you think?

    • @festersmith8352
      @festersmith8352 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is a cool idea.
      Though I think it should be possible with a few different ships than just the Blue.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It definitely is am interesting idea for sure. My thoughts are that once Pyro launches we'll also see the introduction of UEE patrolling Stanton again like they use to and we may see more comms arrays as well. But there will probably be pockets where pirates can hide out.
      The biggest thing needed is a working player reputation system that allows others to post job listings and hire other players for escort protection and other services or allow mercenaries to post themselves for hire. Additionally each of the players involved with this system can also grade each other when the jobs completed based on their performance.

    I think the biggest hang-up on SC is that 90% of it is still a dream, within a dream. The other hang-up is 99% of what we have in the game currently is tier 0 or a place holder. Havoc, your videos are criminally underrated! Star Citizen is like no other game. Like you, I've been supporting this game for over a decade and I've spent several thousand dollars on it. I don't say that with embarrassment but with pride. I don't give CIG money to get an edge with the latest new ship or fighter. I give CIG money to help them develop this amazing game. The potential of this game is far beyond the ability of some people to see or imagine. Some say that its crazy and foolish to trust a company with so much loyalty and money but they don't realize the deep drive and commitment these developers at CIG have to create the most amazing MMO that has ever been created. I believe they can and I will continue to support them. Again, this was a very well done video and I thank you brother.

    Great video.. filled in some gaps for me.
    Here's my boring little story of my haphazard relationship with SC...
    I came in originally around 2020, bought a few ships outright then launched into the game. I really REALLY tried hard to like it, but after 2 days or more with each and every play session ending with a 30K (and all HOURS of progress lost), over and over again, I realized the game just wasn't what I thought it would be.
    Regrettably, I requested a refund and just like that, my money back. I threw my hands in the air and thought.. oh well, that's a fail.
    So as the years went by, I simply couldn't get the IDEA of SC out of my head, just how great it could be, so I kept checking in and also a friend kept telling me how much fun it remained to be but that the 30Ks were still very much present, just seemed to be less.
    I thought to myself.. if they ever get it so I can complete an actual game loop, then I'll check it out again.
    Fast forward to the most recent patches and enter the replication layer! My friend updated me and i decided to check it out.
    So there I was, back in the verse after 3+ years doing my first game loop.. really just flying around and back to base. So after 2 hours of flying about I returned to base and SERVER ERROR.. I thought.. omfg.. here we go again.. no wait, there's thereplication layer, shouldn't it take care of this?? After 2 minutes of nerve wracking waiting, anticipating disappointment, the game came back to life and there I was where I left off!!
    I thought, SC still has jank and obviously the server is still "stretched" but damn, it works! There's now a modicum of stability!!
    So I played a bunch more and after a couple of weeks I received an email welcoming me to the Chairman's Club.. 😅
    For better or worse, I'm a believer now, so let's go CIG!

    Thank you for sharing a well balanced opinion, I'm also a 2012 -2013 backer that returned just over 18 months ago.
    I've also been to Citizencon twice and met Chris along with the other Dev's, for me it's been a remarkable journey that I'm glad I didn't mis out on, I remember standing outside Port Olisar for hours just watching the ships come and go, or practice skimming the station in a fighter for fun.
    You need patience and to just trust the process, people keep commenting on the 700 million raised but that's nothing when you consider the two games being developed, running three to four studio's around the world with an estimated 500 -700 staff, actors for mocap shots and now even a permanent Studio in Manchester that was built, it's all time and money.
    In 2012 Cloud Imperium Games was a small indie studio of about 20 - 30 staff members and now it's a AAA game studio capable of putting the likes of EA to shame, especially for the open'ish development approach in the past and the ground breaking tech they have developed in order to help make the SC vision come true.
    So yea I also find SC frustrating at times, but for an open alpha I'll suffer the up's and down keep playing to pass the time if nothing else, some days it can be really enjoyable.

I also came over from destiny so I'm no stranger to sticking around with a controversial project if I'm enjoying what's being presented, and taking breaks when needed. like 3.18 i got into bannerlord 2. if there's one thing I can always look forward to in the future is SC development

    I have always said that if CIG could expand the same level of detail present in Stanton to those 100 systems and their individual lore, this would be the greatest game ever, but here is the writing on the wall, at the current pace of development, that is going to be an impossibility, which means the game will not be anywhere near the greatness envisioned. People should forget about the technical arguments about server meshing, or any other number of things we have heard throughout the years star citizens development issues are much deeper than that.

    I swear I argued against a hater who "spent and played" on Star Citizen telling me it hasnt changed for 5 years. And all the scam bandwagon haters telling us, we cant play SC. I waited to build a proper PC to play the game as I was on the Ps4 for a long time. Now, I've spent and melted, spent and melted again and again for the right gameplay for me. Now, I am loving my Reclaimer and Mole as my main money maker.

    There are A LOT of super polarized people on the full "scam" or the full "shill" bandwagons with this game. I don't think the game is a scam, but there are lot of criticisms to be made about CIG and you simply cannot act like 10+ years of solid development with at least multiple more before seeing a base game come out is anything to write off. I get that it is ambitious, but players were led on continuously with false release dates and broken promises. Very few other games have had development times this long and did not have this kind of funding behind them. What's worse, is that a lot of the tech necessary to make the game even "work" is still unproven, such as server meshing. The tests we saw did look promising though, I am damn hopeful 4.0 is the patch where the servers aren't dying 24/7 and I can actually start recommending the game to people. But as it is right now, people are right to be concerned about their investments and the future of the game.
    I went dark on SC for a very long time after 2015. I tried it again about 4-5 months ago and was pleasantly surprised at the progress, and in this "short" time since then CIG seems to have made a lot of headway, including the release of a3.23, plans this year for the monstrous a4.0 patch, and the announcement of an actual 1.0 release in the future...Hopefully all that is not players being led on again.
    And with that said, I have sincerely enjoyed a lot of my time playing recently, bugs and broken servers included, lol. I wish nothing but the best for the game.

    I find it interesting that you got so frustrated from delays and "change to the flight model'.. as the "change to the flight model" was taking things backward.... that's not a realistic perspective considering the change was/is due to the feedback they are getting from those that play the game. I hope this time you play, and experience the change of the flight model once again, understand that it WILL change again.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a very realistic perspective. I got great at the flight model earlier on and then it changed due to feedback, which was unfortunate, but that was my own perspective. While it's not realistic from your own viewpoint, at the time and in the moment, that was my truest perspective. Additionally, I've been back for every flight model change and have even been playing with Master Modes and it has potential and reminds me of what the game was like in early pre-2.0 days. It still needs work, but it's not bad.

    Well, the current state of the game doesnt only have bugs and require optimizations, IT SUCKS right now.
    - so many stupid bugs to end your game session in eighter blowing up at random, not being able to use items, elevators or others, or simply just dying at random.
    The insane instability in the game right now where you just "time out for several seconds after leaving quantum jump.. just spinning for up to 30s before you can pilot your ship.
    - the impossible mining due to server lag and your charge will eighter drop or shoot to full red and blow up.
    trying to dogfight but the enemies just glitch all over the place with impossible movement.
    getting CS for doing legal missions..
    ATM.. this is the absoluty WORST gameplay that Ive ever played in this StarCitizent.
    - the XenoTreat that used to be the peak of coop missions is a mess.
    I dont know whats going on atm, but its so bad.. really really bad.. I hope the fix this s.show asap so we can start enjoying even the basic gameloops again !

    Jeez, this is the same Hopium I've been hearing for years. 7 years ago I bought in because Chris Roberts made it sound like they were on the verge of releasing SQ42. What a fool I was. Chris Robert's "ambition" is why we can't get off this merry-go-round, or rather his greed is. Why bring the dream to an end when he's personally raking in millions of dollars each year without the need to bring the project to a conclusion. And how does he keep the project going, by adding more and more features, which inevitable require more bug fixes, and more systems to be developed, and more, and more, and more. And lets suppose he releases it, and we all start playing. With the exception of the hard core players, are the regular players going to find reasons to stick with it for more than one or two hours hours. And then what? I've only played a bit of it because I keep waiting for persistence to occur. Why play and grind away for stuff if its just going to be wiped. And then after persistence comes in, if it ever does, I doubt I'll be life time player. I'm a gamer, and I like variety, as does the average player. Is SC going to be financially viable with only the hard core players? I'm not sure it will be. My suspicion is that it will be a play ground for griefers, pirates, and gold farmers which will drive out the regular players even faster. In the end I'll just be happy to play SQ42 and move on to other games.

    I don't care about SQ42 because it's PVE solo gameplay you do one maybe twice and done what I'm interested is MMO aspect of StarCitizen but had to stop playing because current fly model called Master Modes are so terribly boring and stupid it doesn't feel like 6DOF it's strange mix almost punishing player to try to fly like in space and are enforcing some strange flying similar to atmospheric 3DoF maybe that's why people call it more arcade then before... until they fix it and make it excited to do combat I'm out... hopefully it won't take them another 12 years because this is like 4th time they completely abandoned model they had and are making it from start and it doesn't work at all for me, who knows what it will become in the end...

    Yeah, you want the game to succeed. As you stated in this video.
    However, the game we all want wont be ready for another 10 years atleast. SQ42 might come out before that..
    This project started as early as 2010 (pre-production) and it is now the year of 2024 - now add 10 more years!
    Beta in 2034 - how old are you then?
    If SIG can hold the same level of dedicated backers - How much money will they have raised by that time?
    How many ships will they have sold and how many of them do you thing will be "flight ready"?

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Given that they have investors now, when they didn't earlier in the project, their timeline is probably a lot closer to getting their "1.0 commercial release" so they can get more players into the game.
      While the game will still be added to for another 10 years. Being more polished with extremely fewer bugs and having pretty stable shards when they have that version 1.0 out will possibly bring those new players in and allow gain more funding.
      And once they release Squadron 42, that will bring a good chunk of new players as well.
      But we'll have to see what happens.

They have added features I wasn't expecting and love but still haven't developed others we were promised but one thing is for sure when you grab one of your ship and head off into the verse and can enjoy some relativity bug free game play there is absolutely nothing like it. Now with long awaited Pyro right around the corner along with persistent hangers and the cargo updates I think it will really start coming together. I dont Bash it when I play I havent explored all of Stanton as I dont want to get to the stage " I've done it all " I know I haven't been on the bandwagon for the full trip like you and others I did catch the trailer in 2016 which started me interest but II was playing a lot of other games and did think SC was playable back then. but after I had finished another single player space game I was looking for the next and came across SC yet again this time was through the "its a scam" videos I watched then looked up Morphologis ,Boredgamer , SMB and Farrister and made my own mind up and waited till the 3.15 patch at IAE free fly I spent most of the free fly in the IAE Gob smacked at the ships rented loads but ran out of time to fly them lol then I managed to get out of the hanger and fly up to a station, but only when I came out of that station on the landing pad and when walking to the ship looked up at the size of the station then looking at the planet . I just stopped and looked for ages. landed the ship I had and purchased the first mistake the Mustang LOL which you cant do box missions in so within the next week I had upgraded it to the Titan a far better starter ship. I played in and out for a bit and then got my first wipe so I looked and my limited griding and thought F it get the Prospector LOL and I liked the Sabre so that too. and rend the connie to deliver the stuff to market. I saved up $5mil to get an MSR so I could use it for delivering my refined ore and then the next wipe the Ion and inferno looked great ships ( shopping again ) but still no cargo ship. so I got the Fortuna Ultimate pack with MSR, Connie Phoenix, 400i, 600i ( my 2nd mistake LOL ) this took my into Concierge and into a new world.
    I like the salvage game play no because of the money you get but because it is nice and easy relaxing. me I would like to build a base have it so it could repair refuel and re arm other players ships so earn me dash and I could go out mine and salvage to get the stuff to run it . its a dream and I dont know if CIG will ever let us do it but thats what I would like. and then join in with some big fleet battles on someones idris/ kraken of Jav. I hope by then my Perseus will be in game lol

    I still don't understand this concept of "fatigue" in backing the project.
    I can understand those working on it experiencing it, but backers fatigue escapes me.
    If any MMO I play releases a bad patch, or changes gameplay in a way which bruises the experience for me, I just play something else or do something else. Anyhow, it's ready when it's ready, whatever 'ready' turns out to mean.
    (If I may I offer some advice to those who may be in a financial position to benefit from it -
    If you are suffering mental stress from waiting for the next patch or release, or finding yourself negatively affected emotionally whenever you hear, "CIG" or the dreaded mention of "You-Know-Who 2900", I may have a possible solution to all your ills: Learn to ride and buy
    ent a motorbike of some sort. No game deserves so many tears & the right bike for you will make you much more resilient to the ups and downs of development, and life in general. Seriously, the months can fly by as your skills improve, your grin will hurt your face, and you'll always have something better to do.)

    The game is barebones, and very buggy. If it had more gameplay the lack of polish would be more acceptable. But its a clunky mess with good graphics. The ship battles are boring af, often you'll find yourself hammering the AI repeatedly for 10 minutes waiting for them to blow up.
    What gameplay that is there is locked behind massive paywalls.
    The game should be much further along and at this rate one of two things will happen.
    1. By the time the game is released and considered 1.0 ready, it will be out of date and no longer as impressive.
    Or 2. The game will basically never be ready because theyre constantly adding stuff and keeping up with new tech.

      I think you missed a large portion of the video. The statement made at the beginning of the video were that these were my views and personal experience.
      I also stated that each person's perspective on the game is valid within their respective context. I made no high praise that the game is a glorious and perfectly working game and instead stated that it's been in development for a long while and is still in Alpha.
      And given the 3.23.1 patch, there's been a litany of issues I've run in with that were annoying to me, even though I had moments where I was having a ton of fun and almost forgot I was playing the same buggy game.
      Regardless, I respect your views on the game. But the majority of the video was very unbiased. I just don't waste my time being overly critical.

      @Hav0k appreciate your response. And apologies if i sounded harsh.
      I do think though this video couldve been a lot more honest. Sometimes that means being critical. Commentary isnt honedt and fair if isnt prepared to be critical.
      Things like how grindy the game is and how much content is locked behind expensive ships are pretty important to know. Especially since the game resets progress once or twice a year, meaning those who supported the game a decade ago but havent dropped approx £100 on a ship, have very little to enjoy. And if they do enjoy it and grind for better gear, it'll be gone very soon (unless they can play games all day and are into the grind)

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're all good! Apologies if I sounded defensive. I wrote the reply a bit late so that's my fault. There's a lot of people that have very passionate views of the game, so no need to apologize! I do appreciate your replies.
      I understand being more critical of the game when it needs it, and I often am on occasion.
      I get the frustration behind ships being expensive both via in-game and real life. I do worry sometimes how it my look like post 1.0 launch with them selling ships. The reality is they'll still have to fund development. But the biggest thing for me is that they make ships available in-game immediately when they're available.
      The grindy nature of the game can get tiring, yes. I feel as if a lot of it can be attributed to the state of missions and the lack of rewards or money sinks and this is one thing I hope they focus on soon.
      The most fun I've gotten out of this game lately to be completely honest has been just flying my Gladius around mercing other ships and also doing a lot of distribution centers. None of my fun or lack of fun was ever due to not having a more expensive ship personnaly. But there's still more to be desire personally.
      Item insurance would be wonderful to have at this point to save all that gear that we work hard to get. I think that will resolve a lot of the issues with death being so painful.
      My only major point is that I had to sit down for a minute and think about the development logically. While I'd want a more polished and less buggy experience, their time working on doing so would be wasted because another patch would come out and break things again, and right now, they're working on getting things into a game and working enough that can be tested before they work on more features, gameplay loop, or tech. And that's really one of the most important thoughts to focus on cause they need to get these systems in place so they can get to a point to work on polish, optimization, and bug fixing. While it's been in alpha a long time, we can't ignore the fact that it still technically is.
      Again, I really appreciate your response and views! I love the engagement!

    Hav0k, you can't have backed Star Citizen 12 years ago whem the Kickstarter campaign only started on October 18 2012. You got my like on the video though ;-)
    Playing Star citizen can be a very frustrating expereince, but it was exponentially worse the further you go back in time, meaning it got exponentially better over time.
    When you take alpha games like Star Citizen for what they are, a game in an early stage of development, you understand that playing the game doesn't make much sense.
    It's actually much less frustrating to test the features than to play the game, and this so very important right now.
    CiG is struggling to get enough players to actually spend more time in PTU and report on the issues, which is what in needed tro make the game and get it finnished much faster.

      I more or less generalized. That's my fault as I rounded up. So it's more like 11 and a half years. I backed just around the tail end of 2012. But I also lost my original account because of my request for a refund in 2018.
      You're definitely right, though. Years ago it was more frustrating. And in the last year it's become much less so.

      @@Hav0k I backed SC in October 2013, the day I became aware of its existence. I had a similar 'relationship' with Star Citizen: Playing for a month and taking a break for six or so. That was until 3.17 which I felt was worth my time as an alpha tester and player. Don't ever feel bad about not having that 2012 date on your account, you experienced all of it, the good and the bad, and that's what really matters. Cheers, Iggy_Cygnus ;-)

    i backed in april of 2013. i knew then that it would be a very long time till the game was complete. never have i been frustrated by the current state of the game, i just understood that i dont like or want to play it in its current state, over the years. the one one thing that would cause me to be severely disappointed, is if they "release" star citizen with only having a few solar systems available, instead of the 120+ i think it was.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Hav0k i can agree with you since they are already talking about 1.0, sadly. but imo the amount of systems in game at launch will make or break launch. take my org for example: we intend to make a specific system our home system. if that system isnt in at launch, it's going to demoralize many of us. no doubt many orgs are of the same mind. not to mention population is often expected to be highest at launch, thats going to make those 5-10 systems overcrowded; forcing many players, like myself, to wait another 6+ months. CIG REALLY needs to have at least 80 systems in at launch.

      You're not alone there. My org is definitely going to be finding a specific system as well and getting a base set up as quickly as possible. I believe we are seeing the fall of Star Citizen. The game is now focused on PVP. Most of the talented devs have left the company. The new devs are taking blind stabs at things and failing. So many bad decisions are being made. CIG is the most deceptive company I've ever seen. Every citcon they show fake game play that never comes out. Chris refuses to complete ships sold 10 years ago. But continue to release new ships. They refuse to fix simple things.
    Our money was squandered on fancy new offices and now ships sales are the priority. I think Chris is struggling to pay the bills. Thus the new focus on PVP because that's what sells. The fall of CIG is coming. Years of bad decision after bad decision have taken their toll. Long term backers like myself are tired of the deception & lies from Chris. They have nerfed and tinkered the game so much it's just not fun anymore.
