Same. I have the leather case for the flip 4. Just dropped it this morning at a diner. Right on the hinge. It's fine. Ppl underestimate the protection leather cases provide.
For me, the leather case is the most clean and good looking. Clearly the less utility one, but maybe we can find a 3rd party leather with more utility. I want a metallic ring with the leather case instead of that useless flap which can definitely be done if they remove the hinge cover and replace it with a utility ring.
I have used my flip 3 without a case for almost a year and a half and it's been dropped and banged and it's honestly not in bad shape at all. Never any cracks. I am intrigued by the gadget case. I've also never used a phone socket. How does the gadget case feel with the ring in your pocket?
The flip 3 hinge was definitely more durable than the 4. I had a cute little case on my 3 .dropped that phone all the time. No problems. Got the 4 , put that cute little silicone case on it , the hinge busted on the first dropped. I'm on my 3rd flip 4 now with a ghostec hinge case. Hoping the 5 has a more durable hinge.
Just go caseless, because you're gonna need insurance on a phone like this anyway as it crumbles as you use it. Can't wait for my flip 5 pre order. Also as someone who used the flip 3 and 4, the clear cases feel incredibly cheap and i wouldn't recommend. The rest are probably fine with your overall best usually being the silicon. Samsung did an Aramid Cover for flip 3 that kinda looked like carbon fiber that was my favorite by far but they seem to drop that off.
How does the hinge feel? When closed, does it hold it shut? My flip 3 hinge felt stronger than my flip 4. The flip3 would stay shut, meanwhile if you lifted the flip4 by the one half, the phone would slightly open up with gravity. I havent heard any TH-camr mention the strength/quality of the hinge.
flip 5 owner here, got it 3 days ago in the uk they release it earlier on the 4th of august. the hinge feels very strong and when closed it foes hold shut and requires your strength to open it, it will never open on its own unless you flip it yourself, it will always stay shut. So in conclusion, the flip 5 hinge is very strong. if you have other questions just let me know :)
Could you check if the NFC cards fit in the gadget case? I’ve pre-ordered a flipsuit card from a collab brand and was wondering if it fits the gadget case cause I prefer the functionalities of it.
Biggest issues with multi screen phones is finding a secure case that protects against drops. These cases don’t protect and the hinges are exposed as well.
I love the new ring system…all that extra plastic was unnecessary and would be a pain if I wanted to use it with a different case. This new ring looks great. I will definitely get one.
I was literally thinking the exact same thing. I like the clean look that the Samsung official cases offer on the front flex view screen. When looking at other 3rd party case offerings, they all have their case with the front case covering around the camera part. Please other case makers make your cases like the Samsung cases just for variety.
I think that only with the leather case the back side of the phone is fully protected. The part that stays unprotected with the other three cases is very sensitive. However all these cases are beautiful, my favourite is the first, the silicone one

I have just ordered the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 FlipSuit Phone Case and a smiley face card off samsung website and it was only £36.80. The card had 50% off as i got the case
Couple of things: Watch how Samsung never releases any additional plates for the flipsuit case outside of Korea and inevitably drops it by the next gen. I wonder if the camera grip that was introduced with the S23 line to work on the Gadget case works with this one.

so i just gto my graphite samsung galazy z flip 5 and need a case i usually stick to the samsung branded ones your getting the fit and quality for $90 yeah im going defintely with the leather "eco" case. in black to match im thinking. i decided. its only leather case i wiah was as you sadi more leathery and smelled like it. maybe even a brown leather option would be nice to see. . it does offer protection as far im very concerned i dont like oterrboxs anymore so that was what i was conerned about thank you great video!
It makes me sad when people say about a 90$ case that it's perfectly fine...where have we gone to? People used to complain about 50$ apple cases, now people volunteer to pay 90$+ for a case
Phones used to be cheaper too. I know it still doesn't justify the price.. suppose they don't expect to massively sell these phones in the first place. Trade ins.

Yeah the ring being on the hinge at least gives somewhat a little protection as a barrier for the hinge making contact with the ground in certain angles. Unfortunate change

I like cream color and the hinge protection on the leather case. Definitely going full cream color on this.
The purple plate wallpaper reminds me of the the S8. Which had a similar texture under the back glass.

As for hinges it depends which part of phone landed on the floor. since its only one side expose, you have 25% chance of damaging it.

More third party cases need to have an open front wirhout covering around the cameras. Literally no one else has them except for samsung

Making the cover screen that big meant they couldn't attach the ring on both sides, covering the hinge.
