    You can tell the difference between a car influencer and someone who just loves real world use from their cars. Harry, I agree entirely although I'd be interested in your opinion on the touring minus roll cage and wing. Less downforce and rigidity has got to be some improvement. Jams May was also right, the Nurburgring makes good track cars, but poor road cars

      Not entirely true, Nurburging is harshest track for cars, so a car capable in Nurburging will have decent road usability....... GT3 is still a (racing) car for the road experience, if you want the 50/50 it's the GTS model, here where Harry got it wrong, Porsche made GTS more towards track driving this generation which gave it that 50/50 sort of usability, GT3 is sort of 70/30 while GT3RS will be sort of 80/20......
      So Porsche did provide all kind of cars for every customer

      @@TRX25EX i concur. Also worth adding the 992 Turbo S is now more like a GTS in terms of ride and handling whereby previous gen are softer. So Porsche seem to be sharpening up the entire range

      ​@@TRX25EX The GTS is turbocharged and therefore undesireable compared to NA GT3 option.and it has maintained the same niche as previous generations. As I said, I think he needs to test the manual Touring to see if that matches his expectations more.

      @@aerorobnz GTS have that NA flat 6 feel and interior sound to it, of course not as good as GT3 engine but good enough for a 50/50 car.....
      As for Touring it's same as GT3 nothing will be different here, the problem is harshness as he said which can be fixed by getting GTS or Turbo S models that are known for that 50/50 in 992 generation, except Turbo provide that extra luxury also

      Great review as always, this is the first road biased review that’s been done i feel. Which does point to the new cars downfalls, i’m sure a good set of dampers and adjustment could do the trick, but it’s not what you want from a brand new car.
      To be honest, i was more interested in the 997 gt3, i hope there’s a video of that coming soon :)

    Some TH-camrs have lambos and no knowledge about cars and content turned toward them showing off. They have millions of views. Harry posting incredible content and feedback for years, on amazing cars . This man has an incredible knowledge and is very honest in his reviews and has only half a million followers. I don't understand people .

    Given it can sometimes seem obligatory to award an instant five stars to anything that comes out of Weissach, really glad to hear Harry's candour in this video about the car's shortcomings on rural British roads. Glorious though that powerplant sounds!

    Love this man's clear headed assessment. As someone who own's 2 Porsches, the Gt-3 is way too stiff and noisy for the average driver. Maybe it's great for the track, but it's really annoying on the road. And we have really good roads in Colorado. But even on good roads, you can't hear your self think, let alone answer a phone call.

    The whole 'invited to buy if you have already bought Porsches thing is absolutely why I disagree with Porsche following the wanky Ferrari customer mantra. Awful behaviour. The £100k instant premium proves that invite only decision doesn't work, and only fuels the 911 tax. Whatever happened to being the first come, first served? I don't want a car company to choose me to buy their car, I am the customer and I am always 'right'.

      That seems to be only a UK thing. In germany for example, you can just order them at the normal rate. Some dealerships have allocations on offer. You can change the spec if you wish untill the deadline is reached before productionstart

      It’s much more an issue with U.K. dealers than Porsche themselves although they could allocate more RHD U.K. cars as the demand is there. Maybe it’s to keep the residual values of their cars higher I really don’t know

      They're doing that in the US too. Unless you're a really high end VIP you're not getting a 992 GT3 or GT4 RS. At least two dealerships i talked to said they're taking the rest of the allocations and loading them up and then it's FCFS

      I did notice a photographer at the side of the road and pondered what he might be photographing . A few moments later, I spotted a red Citroen BX and guessed that might have been it! Small world..

      The 992 is very 959 in stance for me. I like it somedays more, usually not though. Very bulky.

      Some nice 991 touring for sale in germany. Low milage. 10-15.000 km. I would gladly give one a loving good home…🤤

      @@salvi1398 some of the sound difference is down to the EEC noise and emission regulations on the 992 so not attributable to Porsche.

    I appreciate the honesty in this review. The pros and cons. Some reviews go on and on how great things are with no mention of real world issues, like the steering darting around due to the camber

      Find the 981 GT4 way more rigid and harsher than the new GT3 , even ground clearance is about 3.5 cm better on the GT3 without the FAL , 9 vs 12.5 cm
      Would be great Max if you have a chance to try one and compare them

    Thank you for this provably accurate and brutally honest review of the 992 GT3. Your exposure of the 992 GT3 ridiculously low ground clearance due to the frames around the newly designed air flow vents successfully REDUCES the ground clearance by more than 1 inch from the already extremely low 991.2 GT3 RS. With only a 3" ground clearance, this low ground clearance seriously gives me second thoughts about owning a 992 GT3. The 3" ground clearance is absolutely un-drivable in any US city. That restaurant driveway would have been unnavigable even if the car had the front lift system! The hydrolic lift system only adds another 1" to the ground clearance. Prospective GT3 and GT3 RS owners should see this as a huge deal breaker. The other setbacks including the steering wheel movements and the noise, to me those are part of the experience of driving a more track focused model and I would enjoy that as part of the intense, visceral experience. But the 3" ground clearance issue is a huge deal breaker unless the front lift system adds at least 2" instead of 1". What are your thoughts on this?

      As a person who has owned many cars ranging from r8s', 720s', 992 Turbo S', etc. All I can say is take a driveway near perpendicular and you will be fine. I currently have a GT3 on order with a March build date, and while I will say the 3 inch clearance is low, the FAL gives another 40mm of clearance; putting the car at the same front height as something like a new c63 or m4. Moreover, knowing a few people who got their hands on 992 GT3's already - none have posed it as an issue as long as your cautious entering roads

    Have we forgotten cars are meant to be used on roads not tracks and meant to be attainable without special permission🙁
    As a car nut I find myself being turned off, the new breed of super cars and reminds me why I still love my 997 and 987.

    The noise ! It’s glorious . Been lucky enough to drive the previous generation 991 in a track couple years ago and it was the best drive / car I ever had by far. The steering , the engine and the way the car takes corners it’s just epic. Well done Harry again . Cheers and merry Christmas!

    The GT3 is all about the engine and manual gearbox. I must admit this is the first review I have seen where it's been driven on ordinary roads. In Australia with it's coarse chip bitumen and heavily cambered roads this would be a nightmare. Condensation inside the lights on a Porsche? Can't open the engine cover? Thanks Harry for the excellent review.

      I've driven GT3s in Aus and NZ and they're fantastic. Yes, they're firm. But you could absolutely daily a GT3

    Not that its a decision im lucky enough to make but the more i read and watch about the current lineup i really see the GTS in either AWD or RWD depending on the climate you live in as the all-rounder king of the lineup. Especially with a manual, an AWD GTS really gives you a unique proposition as a sort of "manual" 992 Turbo/S with probably 98% of the real world performance. Great review as always Harry!! have a nice holiday

    I won't buy a car without hearing what Harry has to say first. I prefer my reviewers to be direct, self-made (there's an honesty to guys who don't need to pander to brands) and were driving in the 80's. He liked the DB11, I bought one, He likes the Turbo S - I'll buy one!!

    That induction noise; almost emphasised by this being a road based review. Certainly brought a grin to my face when watching this video. Strange that the GT3 has been calibrated to be so harsh and focussed when they have headroom for that behaviour for the RS version. Still, a cracking car and one that I would love to be in a position to own one day.

      This 992 GT3 looks as track-focused as the previous (991) GT3 RS, with slighlty better performance even. Incredible car... what will the 992 GT3 RS be? ;-) Edit: pretty much what Harry said at 22:10.

    Great video Harry. I am lucky to have driven 5000 miles in my 992GT3 now and I’ve enjoyed every single minute. The suspension is harsh in both tge sport and track settings (on the road), but you can reconfigure “Sport” mode with “Normal” suspension. This delivers the best road setting I find. You then have the Sport engine map, Sport PDK mode and softest suspension. Set up like this, the car is a joy to drive down my local B roads.

      Thats great info Mark it would be interesting to have had Harry’s thoughts based on having the suspension in the normal mode as opposed to sport or track he did look like he tried to find a softer setting however obviously didn’t dig deep enough into the set up settings

      @@SS-oj4en there's not a lot of difference in the damper settings, Sport to Track just tightens them slightly. This car reviewed here is not representative of how 992 GT3s drive, but I think the Cup2 tyres haven't helped. Mine is on PZERO Corsa and it drives amazingly well, no tramlining (my M2 is worse), and cabin noise is not particularly bad either. Cruises effortlessly too.

      It is NOT extreme being 50/50 as it's a GT3 which is what the car is about :) The most extreme part is getting in to the carbon buckets seats.

    GT3 is a legend, have driven 996 & 997 versions, the 996 is I think the epitome of the GT3.
    140k and condensation in the lights… if it was mine someone at Porsche would certainly know about it in no uncertain terms!!

      I've owned 2 cayman's and they both had condensation in the lights as well. I think it's a case of "they all do that sir"

    Those vents are the same on the 997 GT3 and RS… they are blocked for legal reasons (spray and grit/rock blast) but are easily open by removing the blank and work. 👍

    Just changed from a GT3 (991.2) to a GT3RS (991.2), GT3 was great on the road, completed the nc500 with my wife with no issues. The GT3RS is too fussy, as this new 992, to the point it becomes distracting. Seriously thinking about getting back to the normal GT3! Love the reviews Harry.

    At last a real world view of the 992 GT3. Too track focused and harsh, I'm with you Harry the 911 Turbo S is the go to machine. This new GT 3 will only appear on track days and other times will sit in a collection. Thanks for a down to earth test and not one blinkered by boyish enthusiasm.

    I'm sure they have done a long test on road developing this GT3 but it needs to be extended to B roads aswell otherwise its unreallistic. Like you said, they have the GT3 RS for that.thanks for another great video Harry!

      Get a 992S or a Boxster GTS 4.0 for enjoying B roads. Manual if you are able. Drive your GT3 on B roads to get to the track.

    Great review. Rather have a Turbo S nowadays, which you can actually rake up the miles on. Besides, if you have to pay markup, a loaded Turbo S is actually cheaper than a base spec GT3! Arguably more of the same car for less money.

    Great video again Harry. It is sad as the GT3 was always a road car that you could use on track and the RS was a track car you could use on the road. I have just finished reading EVO car of the year and they all felt the same about the Touring, which should be even more road biased, but I think it is the same set up. They did well not to chase ever higher power, but probably felt that the only way to ‘improve’ on the 991.2 was for a faster lap time. It’s a shame as GT3 have always been fantastic and very usable road cars

      I owned a 996 GT3 and frankly it was less comfortable on the road than a 992 GT3. Neither the GT3 or GT3 RS have ever been satisfying daily drivers, except for very few hardcore owners. The RS always has more flash but almost never much faster on track. Like a fine instrument, any GT3 or RS will take a lifetime to master. And that's the point.

    Cracking content Harry. Your ‘real world’ reviews are so relevant to us in the UK where the roads are; at best; shockingly poor. The hype behind so many super cars hides the reality of day to day driving especially when you’re paying a six figure sum for the privilege! Like many I can only dream of getting my hands on a 992 GT3 but I grasp the thrill of the engine as I own a 991.1 GTS. The sound you experience as the engine revs rise is intoxicating. Keep up the fabulous work, all the best for 2022.

    The best car reviews on current media full stop. You seem to talk far more sense than most of the other ‘Influencers’. I want to know what a vehicle is like in real world situations, not just melting tyres on a private track etc. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful Christmas.

    They nailed the 991.2 GT3. Both in performance and aesthetics. The 992 could be tamed with different dampers and springs. A proper "street" alignment would also do wonders. It's never going to be as pretty though.

      the dampers already are adjustable, aren't they? Should be possible to tune it more for the street without replacing any parts

    Sounds like Porsche engineers should incorporate your favourite bit of road for their road testing…
    Hopefully the engine gets used in a few other variants which are more suitable for road driving.

      I drove that Boxster 4.0 GTS recently and it was mega down my bit of road, so I expect the GT4 would be just as good. I think this edition of GT3 is a step too far on UK roads..

    Totally agree with the last couple of comments . Harry’s reviews are true real world . Wonderful car and engine but it doesn’t matter how much it’s built for the track , you are still going to use it on roads some of the time . I’ve just subscribed but have been watching for ages! A brilliant channel

    Great review as usual. I owned a 981 GT4 for about 3 1/2 years. Loved it, but sold it in April, wanted to have a less track orientated car. Have a 992 on order. Missing the GT4, but looking forward to a more comfortable road orientated Porsche sports car.

      @@lollypop9580 Hi, I’ve had two 981 Caymans - a new base Cayman with PDK and then the GT4. Although the GTS is a wonderful car, I’ve never owned a 911 and it’s intended use is for touring etc. I do miss the GT4, sounds amazing, light weight carbon seats etc. Only 8000 miles when I sold it - it had 1800 miles when I bought it.

    i remember getting well pissed with condensated inside headlights on my 2008 GTD golf id spent good money on (in 2012) so id be furious with that on the porshe haha

    Harry that was so funny, about 15 minutes of semi-grumbling about ride comfort, lack of ground clearance, noise levels, the fact that it's not quite as usable as you'd like, condensation in the headlamps, then you put your foot down, screamed all the way to 9,000rpm and all of those grumbles just melted away, your face lit up and you were in love with it. Truly you are one of us, a proper petrol head! A very balanced and realistic final judgement though, quite refreshing to hear that viewpoint.

      His comments are clearly in relation to GT3’s of the past and 991.2 being the latest after the current; pretty clear the 991.2 was a better road car.

    The 992 GT3 Touring didn’t fare particularly well in EVO Car of the Year group test either. If they’d put the GT3 engine in the GTS, it would have solved the problem and created a nice road car with the special engine. Nice review Harry.

      They also said the front end on the touring felt very different to the proper gt3 they tested a coupe of issues back. That gt3 also beat the McLaren 600LT and GTR Nismo, both ecoty winners. That review made it sound like the 992 GT3 is the most exciting thing ever. I wonder if the (adjustable) suspension on that car has several different set ups out in the wild, with some working much better on road.

      Everyone else who’s reviewed the touring thinks it’s absolutely superb. The car they seemed to test didn’t behave in the same ways that others had experienced.

    Great real world review, something most of the car magazines completely miss as they test them on perfect circuits or roads around the Black Forest. I am sticking with my 991.2 gt3, think it’s the perfect compromise between fast road and a great circuit car, but not compromised on either. I guess whilst Porsche focus in lap times for each gt3 product the time was also ways going to come where it became too focused as a road car, and the 992 generation seems to be it.

      That version of GT3 is mega. No way would I swap it into the 992 GT3, unless I'm mainly going to drive it on track. PDK suits it perfectly too.

      Since I own a 991/2 Gen GT3 and having now driven the 992 GT3 there is no way I'd swap mine to get into the 992. This is the first GT3 I'd have to have transported to the circuit for track days if the journey was any more than 20 miles. It's not only the harsh suspension but the steering is too frenetic for me and the best bit which is arguably the engine is in all important aspects exactly the same in both cars. All this said a friend of mine swears by the 992 version but then he is a racing driver!

    First 911 I wouldn’t want to own. It’s an amazing track tool but these cars were build from the beginning to be a “do it all” road car. I’d have the GTS or Turbo S in a snap over this one and save a ton of coin. Still loved the review though, Harry!!

    I had a previous generation of 911 and I ended up selling it. Those cars are magnificient on a perfect country road but are a pain on a normal 'potholed' city street. Because of that I was using it only a few thousands miles per year.

    Those speedbumps should be banned, most normal folk just pile over them in suvs wheels either side at whatever speed they want but low cars get a free sump delete doing that 😳
