Interesting to see this as an American. If you go anywhere in the middle of the county you'll see these everywhere. And they aren't even the biggest trucks available. One of the reasons though they are so big are government regulations believe it or not. There are many people who would love to have a smaller truck with a similar size engine for towing. But there are weird regulations with respect to the ratio of fuel economy to vehicle size. Basically it does not allow for a smaller truck to get low mpg. So they are made physically bigger... Americans still do love their f150 though.
The 5.4 sohc engine was released in 1997, the cam phaser equipped 3v started production in 2nd quarter of 2003 (as a 2004 model, my personal vehicle is a early production built in April 2003)
Hilarious to watch this as an american where this is a relatively small pick up truck. I personally have a 2019 F350. For comparison it’s about 8 ft longer than my 2005 cayenne. Also interesting the European perspective on diesels. When it comes to truck diesel is king here. My truck being tuned makes roughly 600 hp and 1100lbft of torque and still gets 20 mpg with a 48 gallon fuel tank.
Good video - saw it on the F150 owners page.👍 These things are actually super practical daily drivers if you’re not doing a massive commute. Well done on the channel - I’ve not long started myself - looking on enviously at your 2500+ subscribers!😂 Subscribed! 👍
So weird watching this. This is such a generic trim and spec of F-150 here in the united states, I wouldnt be surprised if 90% of the people here have at least sat in one if not driven one. I have like 6 F series trucks in front of my house right now but i have a problem hahah.
Should warn him that the 5.4 has issues. Specifically the 3v is known to be pretty bad after about 150k miles. Although if he’s done 20k in 5 years this may or may not be something he has an issue with, 🤷♂️

I was gonna say the same
No problems with mine @240,000 & all original. It's all about maintenance.

Ĺovely truck but financial running cost would be prohibitive in the UK unless you have the budget for it.
Road tax must be a fortune
Think its 295 mate
I have a 2021 F-150 and it has 435hp and 570 lb ft of torque. It is a V6. It can tow 13,000 lbs.
