This kind of review is what is more convincing for me. Every product will be at its best performance out of the box, but what makes a good product differ from others is its durability; how long it maintains the same performance. Thank you for the review, sir!
exactly, I'll never trust a seller that just pulls it out of the box and talks about it. xD
Just got one today as a surprise Christmas present. Glad to hear it's still performing. I'm looking forward to using it . Thanks
I'm new to airbrushing and was looking for someone to recommend me one, and I'm so glad I found your video! Thank you for honest review❤
I received this airbrush and compressor as a Xmas gift and pretty much like you, I asked for it based upon the strong reviews on Amazon. I’ve not started using it yet (to be honest I’m a bit afraid of it!) but your excellent reviews have given me confidence to start!
Thanks for putting this up. In the market for an airbrush kit this month and, after a day of looking at video reviews, yours convinced me to get this one.
You won't be dissapointed 😁👍
I bought this same one just about 2 months ago and have had zero issues with the set. Glad to hear yours held up so well.
So far I'm really happy with it was always a punt buying cheap but this has worked out well 👍😁
Thank you for your help! I appreciate it - CB
I bought the same one, based on your recommendation, and I love it. Thanks so much.
😁👍
I am just about to buy timbertech airbrush and this video helps me a lot to make my decision! Thank you
Your very welcome 👍
I've just bought this exact kit, haven't started using it yet but it's great to hear your feedback confirming my reasoning for buying it. I'm completely new to airguns and took on board a lot of peoples advice to buy a cheaper kit to learn on, expecting to possibly break the airgun with being ham fisted but learn enough to not break a more expensive model. Happy to hear the compressor is good and will be usable with the more expensive airguns.
Mines been such a great help like as you starting the hobby I wasn't sure what to do but it turned out to be a great decision 👍
Just had the compressor delivered to me yesterday by Amazon. Glad to hear the comments. I will be using this with a bit more confidence. Thank you appreciate the feedback
Make sure you let me know how you get on
Just about to get one of these from Amazon, thank you for the video :)
No worries.. Don't forget the affiliate link 👍😁😁😁
Just ordered this kit. For first timer just doing some painting motorcycle models. But good to know i have upgrade options afterwords.
Definitely helped me see how loud it was, I’m considering getting this as a beginner 🙌🏻
It's a great bit of kit 👍
I’ve been really impressed with the Fengda FE-183K airbrush set I bought off Amazon 3 needle and cup sizes plus a hose for £28 definitely worth checking out
Thanks for the info.. Sounds like a real bargain 👍
Bought it before looking at your channel (...) based on the reviews of others. It will be delivered today :) But thanx for the review and will certainly come back to you.
Fab please let me how you get on 👍
I bought the exact same thing a couple of years ago, after about 9 months I upgraded the brush to a H&S Evolution Silverline, the difference is amazing. The cheap brush was grand for priming and large areas, but for details its a bit rubbish, very little control, its more on or off with not a lot in between. The compressor is brilliant, still running perfectly. I run it at 20-22psi for mini painting. I still use the original brush for varnishing or priming a lot of models at once.
Yes, nice to have a rough AB to save you putting your nastier stuff through your main.
I've owned one for quite some time and used it on and off for various projects but I must admit it's not great for minatures.
Cosplay, larger models, priming and base coating all perfect. Just don't expect to use it for an entire models details.
It was an excellent learning airbrush though and a great to just have lying around.
The other advantage of starting off with this is being able to fully take it apart and learn how they work without worrying about damaging a £100-£200 airbrush
Im just starting out airbrushing as i build a lot of car model's and i want to start using zero paints which need airbrushing, usually i use rattle cans(which i did for a bayside blue skyline im building for my brother) i just bought this airbrush kit thanks for the update video, im looking forward to trying it out, do you have any videos for cleaning out your airbrush etc! Keep up the good work
Thanks for the update. I'm looking for an 'apartment friendly' compressor and the sound seems manageable.. I'll be purchasing tmrw morning!
Fab.. Enjoy 👌
Thank You sir!!
You are most 🙏
Make sure you unscrew the cover with the on/off switch. The one I received did not have the ground wire connected. There was a guy on Amazon Germany with the same issue almost a year ago. This might be a common assembly fault. One that is REALY dangerous. Please check your unit if you use this compressor.
What exactly do I have to look for? A cable not attached to anything? a missing cable? Please be more specific 😎
Thanks for the warning - how can we tell? If you have any more information that would be appreciated!
@@5XM-Film its the green wire with a washer at the end of it, it should be attached to the right side of plate. Mine was not attached.
Thank you for this review! Based on all your vids on the Timbertech, I bought one. Let me get handy with it and I will drop you a line. Thanks again!!
I'm looking forward to you letting me know how you got on
I bought a Timber tech airbrush with 0.2, 0.3 & 0.5 needles, nozzles & caps in July 2020. I have replaced the 0.3 needle & nozzle but it is still working fine and has become my go to airbrush. Its basic but it cost about £28 so fab value for money👍
They are fab arnt they... 👍👍👍👌
I bought the ABPST08 with the 3 l tank it is the upgraded one. I'm glad to hear that this one is working out well And here consistent reviews from others that the one I bought works out well. I got mine for $35 only because of my employee discount. It's $85 usually which is still a steal
Great price
Got this set as a christmas present. Really good for that price. The only thing I was concerned about is the amount of heat, the compressor produces. I mounted a fan on the top of the cylinder head in order to cool it down :D
I love this video
What a fantastic video,I'm just looking for my first airbrush, I looked on amazon and a lot have said it gets red hot,but I don't think there's one to match it for the price.
Had to subscribe
Thank you
Bless ya thank you 👍
Thanks alot for this vid mate, been eyeing this up on amazon, wondering if it's worth the plunge going from brush work getting back into modelling. Convinced me big time.
It's a great bit of kit and still going strong 👍
I’ve got a master airbrush when I just started out. The 2 mil nozzle broke up the first day, the O rings got brittle a year in (even tho I didn’t airbrushed that much + I maintained good cleaning) and now it just leaks air and becomes unusable. I would recommend a better one like Harder Steenbeck Ultra or their Evolution airbrushes
I bought an identical from Amazon 6 years ago. It still works but may need some oil lol
thank you
👍Your welcome
Yep i have that one too lol bought back in 2021 and I still use it. I also bought a fengu airbrush so i can have 2 colors going and not have to keep cleaning. Stick some Vallejo air paint in it and it rocks.
I also tried Timbertech paint for it which works great but every bottle leaked because there is a rubber plug in the bottom.
Ah I only use army painter, vallejo or citadel ...the compressor is a real workhorse
@@greedy3d480 yeah i changed to Vallejo and Army painter because of the poor quality bottles of timbertech. The paint wasnt too bad though. Nice and thin enough for an airbrush.
I've just watched your first video on this airbrush kit, then this follow up. Both videos are very informative and I was tempted to buy one. So I clicked on your link to Amazon and was disappointed to see it's now £94.99 (April 17th 2023) That's quite a hefty price increase for something that was released in 2015. Big thumbs up for your videos though 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
Ah that's a hike.... Lovely bit of kit though tbh... Shame gone up but hasn't everything lol... Thanks for kind words 👍👍
I bought one yesterday 11/09/23 for £75.69. So still good value.
Keep looking, I've seen plenty in the £70 range.
I got the sagud version and compressor is great but when painting I’m not getting good results with the brush( I think that’s me ) only had it two days so still time to correct this but for the money not to bad at all
I’m looking to get an airbrush / spray gun that can use in an apartment for painting on canvases for gradients / speckle effects. do you think this will hold up to use like that and does the gun have adjustments for different effects?
With the smaller nibs, how do you attach the fiddly bits, indeed do you need to attach them
Is it possible to adjust the compressor to reach 100 psi? I see the gauge has a room to move up?
I've done the exact same as yourself, bought the Timbertech kit and upgraded to the Iwata Neo a while ago. I'm guessing the snapped component was the nozzle? As that happened with mine! Compressor still going strong....
It was indeed 😁👍
Thanks for the video! Very informative, really looking forward to playing around with one myself. My only worry is they don't seem to have a contact if anything does go wrong. Is that something you/ anyone has found ?
Customer service is amazing... I do have a contact but use discord they have a group on there with support also
Also they're on Facebook
I bought one from Amazon as an entry to airbrushing . I’ve had it about a year and it has been great. No issues with it at all. I’m very happy with the performance. However I may upgrade the airbrush if there is an advantage to doing so.
Just bought this airbrush as a first step into airbrushing. Thought for 20 quid can’t go wrong plan to use it for base coating and some zeniths highlighting
It's a great little airbrush
Hi, interesting and quickly review about the product. Thanks!
My doubt is about How long can you use the compressor consecutively? And how long rest? thank you!
I've used this since day one with zero issues I've used it for hours on end at times 👍
@@greedy3d480 ok thanks for your answer, is curious because in the page of Amazon I asked and most of the people answered me that in a minute or more maybe 10-15 minutes the compressor start to get warm, and somebody put a damp cloth to lower its temperature... and it is strange because it is supposed to work for at least a couple of hours... That has made me doubt your purchase
I got one of those super cheap ebay KKmoon square compressors and airbrush kits. (£30)
The KKmoon airbrush after I polished the needle is awesome. The compressor is ....Plastic, It works, its loud, it dances around the bench, its not great.
However
If I feed the airbrush with my workshop 10 gallon tank compressor, over kill I know. But it becomes a joy to use.
Maybe I got a good cheap airbrush, or maybe it was cheap because of the lack of OEM finishing.
I guess giving the thing a little TLC worked for me.
I havent needed to upgrade as it does what I need.
Fab comment I like to hear experiences thank you for sharing 👍
Hi after your review I’ve just bought one and I looks a good piece of kit. Do you know though how the regulator knob works. Does this set the max pressure?
Yeah thats what I would say 👍
Company should pay you for this vid. Cuz im gonna buy this! Thanks
Lol... I agree 🤣🤣 have fun
Just got this going off this video so thanks for a great review. Only issue I’m getting 25psi under full load. Doesn’t drop below but I cannot increase it.
That should be enough for airbrushing or do you need more 👍
Silly question is it turned to max
It’s not ideal. If I wanted 25psi I could have just got a cheap pump. This is at max. I’ve checked to see if I’m being stupid haha.
@@andrewmcgovern7850 mine does 35... That's why I'm unsure why yours doesn't 😞
I got a cheap kit from harbor freight its an avanti brand cost me about 100 bucks i used it until I got use to the airbrush then got an iwata eclipse
Similar journey then 👍👍
Hey, thanks for the vid, just got it today and I really like it. How do I turn the pressure knob though? It does not feel stuck, tiny bit of play up and down but whether I am pressing it or not, it would not move. I've seen other video where the guy said it was difficult to turn? I've tried twisting it with a lot of strength but I do not want it to snap so hoping that someone can enlighten me on this one, thanks!
Ah, you got to pull it up, lol, I am stupid never mind :D
Pull it up to turn it ..should be easier
Started recently to customize my mcfarlane action figures and started with some dry brushing. I was very happy with the results and i like doing it. Now i want to go a step further by buying an airbrush. Don't know nothing about airbrushes and compressors but thats something that i will learn over time i guess. I do have one question tho.. is it possible with that set to havd pressure control?
,yeah you can adjust pressure on the main compressor 👍
@@greedy3d480 thnxx for the fast reply.. orderd it and will be getting it tomorrow 😎
@@thedcmcfarlanetoyscollector my recommendation is to look to Harder & Steenbeck because they produce HUNDREDS of videos dedicated to the miniature and hobby market. You can use any quality AB you want of course but their kit is nice and they really, really help the hobbyist. Check their channel out.
Quick question. Is the nozzle screw in or does it fit in with the front assembly?
Screw in :)
Within 12 months Amazon will replace the airbrush. Then again, you might think that's a bit much to ask for especially as you have an upgrade. But they will.
I guess time will tell
Hello ! I was wondering one thing... Is it good also for cleaning dust? May sound stupida but I wanted to use for that too😂
Will I use it to blow any bits off my models after I've sundered them
I want to use it to spray die cast model cars when restoring them , will this do the job ?
absolutely it will
Hello. I just purchased a different model but am going to return and ordered this model. I was disappointed that there was no user guide. I found your video while searching for a user guide. Do you know if all airbrushes are compatible? I will be looking for the one you recommend if I find that airbrushing is something i will be doing a lot of in future.
All airbrushes should be fine I've used a few with it no issues 👍
Did you not have a leak between the airbrush and compressor, as I heard some people have had one and had to use pipe tape to sort it out!
No never had any leaks
Got the same one, 2 months in and its fine. Did have issue with the needle getting stuck in the gun so replace it, but compressor is great. Does get hot though when used a lot. Am sensing a fellow brummy accent here. Been painting 6 months but just starting to look at printers etc. How do you get on in the cold weather with it.
Yeah definately a brummie accent 👍😁.. I usually right through the winter with no real problems at all I had some trouble working out there when it was -2 but the compressor works ok lol
@@greedy3d480 was thinking more about the printing. I paint in the house in the man cave but couldn't print in there as wife would batter me. Might be coming to you for some advice one I get my shed tidied and printer bought.
Anytime 👍 I have a heater out there and it's fully insulated but the heater is expensive to run. I have at the coldest times heated the resin with a hairdryer and it prints OK... The fdm needed a hairdryer to walm it. Bit to avoid the warning error and one it runs its fine... Tbh no real problems really 👍
I have a portable paint box I use to paint in the house but in summer I'll be painting in the mancave
Could i upscale my kitchen cabinet doors with this airbrush and compressor?
Oo not sure sorry
Hey mate..I got my air compressor kit of eBay… mine came with a 3lt tank..
Very nice 👍
I just opened the box and started using. Moisture built up in the moisture trap but I couldn’t take it off to clean or remove moisture. Using the button on the bottom did not clear all the moisture. Can you help or advise? Thank you -CB
Hi Cathy....itnis turned on when you pressure trap button isn't it..failing that not sure id speak to their support in case it's faulty... let me know how it goes
Thank you for your response. Does the moisture trap unscrew ? -cb
Not tried that sorry
Just bought this matey for car models it drops to about 20psi no matter how much I top it up any ideas or fixed you can think of cheers mate
Hmm I can't think of anything mine doesn't go that low daft question you are pushing the knob down when twisting it?
@@greedy3d480 the knob twists fine I pull up to unlock it and push down to lock it in when pressure is right
@@lewistaylor2332 have you found a fix, I've got the exact same problem
Hi I saw another version with an air tank and wanted to know if it's necessary or not because it costs like 30 quid more
Not necessary in my honest opinion... Unless a slight drop in noise as sometimes as it won't be on as long 🤔😁
@@greedy3d480 oh so you have no problems with overheating? I read on Reddit that cheap compressors tend to overheat pretty quickly
Hi . I have the tank version with the built in fan and that still get s hot after an hour . Good compressor though , I've had mine 4 years .
Forgive my total ignorance. It seems to come with a needle already in. What size is it? Thanks
You get 3.. 0.3 0.5 and I think 0.4?
@@greedy3d480 many thanks
Hello, is there enough pressure to clean 3d models from IPA?
I've used it for this
@@greedy3d480 but You use it for paint mostly right? Ok so it’s good enough to clean models from ipa?
@@smokehead5318 yes I do but I've used it to blast the insides clean
I have this one or very close model and when set at its highest won’t sustain more than 20 psi when spraying. What would cause that? It’s brand new. Thanks for your help!
Is it turned to max??
@@greedy3d480 yes it’s all the way up.
Hmm not sure is the pressure dropping as you use it.. Faulty unit maybe
While spraying I. Maintains around 16 PSI.
@@greedy3d480 I just had an HP-CS airbrush arrive today. I will test it with that and next will test hose if it’s still an issue. 👍
Sorry just noticed Lewis has the same problem from 11 days ago
How's the noise?
It's not bad at all
I've brought the exact same kit but I noticed that it will build the pressure to 40 psi but it will only operate at a constant 20 psi, have I got a dodgy one or is there a solution that anyone can advise me on
Mine delivers a constant 25 when you turning up the knob are you pushing the knob in as that just seem to make a difference
@@greedy3d480 yes I tried that but no difference, however I did contact the company last night asking if mine was faulty and this was their reply.

I have used the army Painter white primer with absolutely no problems using this airbrush and compressor
After a couple hours of use, the spray gun turned into a pressure washer and was mixing paint with water. Why, can i stop that?
Whetes the water coming from
You need a moisture trap on the compressor air hose .

Er not that hot... It does get warm

Thanks for the intel :)
The compressor is decent in these but the brush is garbage best to upgrade it
The airbrush actually lasted a long time until I broke it gave some great results really happy with the airbrush considering the cost but yes you're right there are better airbrushes to upgrade to
