    I’m looking at a 2016 228i
    38,000 miles
Just want a cool car that’s reliable
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

I think it's a great car, cool and pretty reliable.

Living close to Cotswolds and someone who frequents highlands during Christmas time, it does look like the perfect car for me. Thank you for sharing the xdrive experience. That’s what I was mostly keen on.
At similar price point I think the 2series is a better choice than 4 series for winding Warwickshire and Gloucestershire roads.
    Cheers for this!

Have you had any other issues after 3 years of ownership other than the EGR valve?

    • @gringotom242

Not really, its an awesome car!

How are the noise levels in the cabin while driving?

    • @gringotom242

Maybe a little louder than you'd expect. I don't find it an issue but I guess it's a subjective thing

EGR valve failed (see my other video) which was annoying, but luckily the dealer replaced it for free.

I have two offers 2016 2 series for 27000€ and bmw 1 series 2020 new model for 37000€ used. I drive on Autobahn everyday to work. Which one would you recommend I get? Nice car you’ve got

Seems like quite a lot for a 2016 car. All I can say is generally 2 series are better looking and more of a drivers car, 1 series cheaper, more practical and better in the snow due to front wheel drive (unless you get xdrive on 2 series)

Exactly what I’m looking for just different colour

Great video. I'm looking at the 2 series convertible for my next car. All signs seem to point to this 2l diesel engine. Seems to make so much sense. This would be my first "premium" German car so reliability is key to me as I don't fancy being on the tail end of costly repairs if out of warranty just because it's a BMW. Do you know what the cost of extended warranty is with BMW? I've tried their website but they don't give an answer even after typing in a reg from a random BMW for sale online. Thanks for uploading this 👍

I have 2015 228i and I have over 110k miles on it and have NO issues with it. Maintain the oil and regular maintenance and this car will treat you perfect.

Did you have to change any suspension parts like control arms and integral links

225d vs 228i or 230i? Which and why is better?

I have a 2018 230i handles great but it’s been an ongoing unreliable vehicle for me in terms of repairs especially first two years of ownership. I’m the original owner and those frustrations are making me strongly consider selling

Enjoyed that Video - thanks. Just got myself a 218d and I like it for all the reasons you've mentioned. Best combo of ride quality and handling I've ever had
Slight gripes for me are that the driver's footwell seems a little tight and off-centre and I'm always trapping my finger when releasing the handbrake. Mine's a manual which is very stiff at the moment but hopefully will loosen up a bit. I think your auto + x-drive combo is a good one but was too £ for me.

I agree the footwell is a bit tight. I do like having a manual handbrake though when so many cars have electric ones

Just bought one of these yesterday. Basically fully loaded out. Had about 31,000 miles on it.
Love the M Sport package! The M steering wheel is BEAUTIFUL and feels great! Also has XDrive.
Have you had any issues with yours so far?

    • @gringotom242
      @gringotom242  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Glad you like it, still loving mine despite an egr valve issue that i described on another video

@@gringotom242 I’ll have to check that video out.
It’s good to know other than that, yours is going pretty strong!
