@@TheWorldBelowDnD I wiped the floor with inventor stage 6, he's SO broken if you save equipment for certain fights
The inventor is just Missingno in Isaac, but the witch is just..... garbage
The more prepared slots you get on the witch, the less it feels like you are playing the witch

NL was on the brink of excellence, i think he just kept getting lost in the vise grip sauce (I.e. in a turn he wouldn't cycle any spells through the upgraded slot because he wanted to keep vise grip there)

One of the problems I see you having with the Witch is having too much low-value equipment. You're at your best when you can combo damage, but when you have four utility spells and two damage spells you just can't do that. You need to invert that number - drop vice grip and fruit bowl/daffodil for damage. That way you don't constantly need to push for specific dice to deal damage and instead can get a steady 10-20 damage a turn and 20-40 with crystal ball.
Great attempt, NL! I think we can all see that ep 5 of the witch is a lot more fun than some of her other episodes. I'm sure you'll get this episode completed in the next few eps.

We really want Cold Snap this turn, but I'm gonna use Vise Grip to get three 3s and then make another Vice Grip.

@@Ulgroth Because it's a game with weird dice interactions, and it's fun to experiment. Like how you can steal enemies' dice if they gain them on your turn.

He's just dumb. The entire reason he hates Inventor is because he can't contemplate the concept of having to constantly adapt new strategies on the fly.

Ah, a 1, 6, & 4, exactly what you need to gain mana, get a cold snap out, & play the cold snap.... & instead you put out a vice grip & throw some dice. Nice egg (9:26)

How can nl like cauldron so much with normal witch yet never use mirror cauldron? Upgraded mirror cauldron seems like easy wins with the witch's damage output
An effect like +1 dice per fight is a common noob trap in some games so he's big-braining that it's a noob trap in this game. It's not.
By floor 5 of every Spire run, he's asking himself, "what's our win condition in this deck? What do our turns look like?" While this is certainly distilled down a lot from the complexity of Spire, there's as much objectivity in regards to how you play your turns here, and what you build your runs on. He just seems to get a bit too stuck on one thing here, and ends up running with it for the whole game.
That said, these upper episodes do get a bit complicated. Not too bad, though.

NL you are focusing way too much on utility, you should have decided *between* Fruit Bowl and Vice Grip for dice cheesing, and then gone for more damage. I personally would have stuck with Fruit Bowl for more raw dice
If anything that gives you dice gets cursed it doesn't actually give your dice to the enemy. You can just drag and use them from the top.

I would say Dicey Dungeons is rivaling my love for your Issac. Compared to Issac, Dicey is fast paced, colorful, and thought provoking. I love Issac but man this is such a good game to watch.

Isn't there maybe a possible infinite combo with upgraded Fruit Bowl? Don't know since I don't play the game, but it seems kind of doable.

You really should have gotten Inventor and Witch out of the way before you completed your favorite characters. Now you only have pain to look forward to.

Inventor is among the best characters in the game though. NL is just not thinking right.

Once it's prepped it's 3 dice for 2. It's only dice-neutral on its first turn. NL does overvalue it though

The witch is a white mage in disguise. Get healing/lifesteal spells and buff yourself with Mirror Cauldron to see yourself become pretty much invincible.
The Witch is just get more dice and deal damage. Take prepared slots and start with the +dice spell and win. Ignore mana.
NL disrespecting dice gain is a persistent theme of this series. Literally every Witch episode.
Please slow down like 10%. Let your brain catch up egglord.

Inventor is more than fine, even. Inventor is literally one of the best in the game lol. I don't know why NL is refusing to see how absurdly broken gadgets can be. He's stuck in the mindset of "What's the worse item I can lose?" instead of "What item/gadget do I want for the boss this run? Okay, I want X and Y, so I'll save those till the final floor".
Crystallina doesn't want any HP I guess. Two 4s, two heal for 4s, and she passes turn.

Just use all your ones on fruitbowl, it goves ya 2 extra dice which means mkre dice
He should go for more prepared slots and less upgraded slots, less decisions to make so less chance he'll screw up.
Has taken me this long to notice but when an it is cursed right at the beginning of your turn just as the cards finish sliding in, it has a glint effect. Can see it on daffodil constantly in the crystallins fight at 34:36
I believe that's just the getting one mana effect activating

@@widders1 I didn't understand it at first, but I believe Curse activates at random, instead of on a specific card. You can use Katana twice with curse, and the third use curse will trigger. As an example.
10:46 "thanks for the mana, thanks for the mana, thanks for the mana" i wonder if NL ever realizes when cards say "on a 6 get 2 mana" and he inserts not a 6 that hes not getting mana and he sounds dumb.
especially because instead of getting mana he never uses, he could use teh 3 to get a vise grip. put the 6 and 2 into it to get a 4, and then generate a lot of cold snap

I actually really enjoy playing as the witch; the mechanics are very fun. But she really should get extra dice when leveling up, she barely gets stronger over the course of the game, and is considerably weaker than the other characters.
As for inventor, she's arguably overpowered, but I really don't like the breakable equipment, and I don't think it's very fun.

@@NathanNathanNathan how does that work? the 4 gets him another upgraded mirror cauldron, but he can't use the 3 in it anyways and he can't daffodil the 3. if you meant he should just keep it out for next turn - i agree.

Why does he hate the inventor when some of his coolest runs involve the inventor?
After much consideration I think that Dicey Dungeons is not a good game for NL. "Completing" the game is his way of ending the series, he does not like 2 of the characters, the witch being the one that requires most consideration for possible actions which is definitely not his strong suit. It's absolutely contrary to his usual "just play quick so the video doesn't go on for too long" mentality.

Last couple of months have been pretty rough for people who're not into hbox but yesterday was actually just incredible.
I like the Witch's spellbook mechanics, but she isn't very rewarding. I think she's just kind of weak and could use a buff
I think NL would be less of a moaning egg if he got good. Yes some of the episode 4's are borderline unfair, but the witch and inventor are not that hard to pilot. Either get good, stop your moaning or stop the series.
