Been using mine to vac seal 50 lbs of rice. Today used it for pasta assortment and lasagna noodle in 5 gal buckets. Love this sealer! It is just amazing.
I have several antique jars and they have a thicker bottom rim so they sometimes don't seal with a vacuum sealer. I think because the food saver cap doesn't fit down all the way. (hope that makes sense 😀)
Hi Leisa, I'm sorry that happened to your jar. Some things have a bigger learning curve. I've never done this at all. When I decide to, I'll swim across Lake Michigan for your help.
You have not lived until you cause a vacuum canister to implode on you , olive oil, black pepper, cayenne, garlic and lemon juice and the lamb chops in there, PS the wife was not happy with the mess and the dog was looking for those lamb chops, LOL
@@paulrobilotti9294 I'd have cleaned up the mess, then gone out and bought her a dozen red roses. Two dozen would be better. You owe her some flowers. 😘
When you brake glass in a piece of equipment - never a good moment. Had a mishap in the dishwasher recently with glass😔sometimes sh!t happens (it was messy). I have stopped using glass ovenware recently, I didn't hurt the oven, ruined dinner and unexpected cleaning hurts. Take Good Care 🥂
This was a great video. I have a vacuum cylinder, which I love & swear by. If using a brake bleeder it's advertised to go up to a certain point. I've recently thought higher would be better. Luckily I haven't had a jar break but I can see how it could. I will stick to the recommendation from now on.
Dehydrated mushrooms are considered gold in my pantry so I believe I may of cried had it been me that broke the jar. Mushroom (umami) powder is mostly why I dehydrate them. Man is it wonderful! So much cheaper than store bought too.
A friend of mine has the VacMaster 215, out of my price range but she can put the jars in the chamber, she can put anything in the chamber and it seals.
Oh oh that was not meant to happen. At least you are keeping it real Leisa. I am that one person in my friends group who reads the instructions to everything before I take anything else out of the box. It makes life so much easier, not as much fun, but a whole lot easier.
I want the shrooms!!!!! We go through canned and dehydrated soooo fast! Time for hubby to find a dealer. Lol! Would love to have a chamber vac, just looks easier and stronger than the old ones.
I have a chamber sealer and can seal jars. I have had 2 jars shatter and it was my fault both times. I put the ring on the jars tight and sealed too long. The rings have to be just barely on in order to hold the lid on. I hope this makes sense. I love being able to vac seal my jars in the chamber sealer.
Lately i have lost 3 jars in the pressure canner. When I examined the broken jars there is a circular etched area on the bottom of the jar Approx 2 to 2.5 inches in diameter . It is felt on the outside of the jar not the inside. Never seen anything like this, all ball jars. Anyone else having similar problems?
Yes I’ve have them as well. They are definitely weaker than the jars without that flaw. I figured it was something in the molding process that made the ring.
Do you have other utube videos using this? ( I didn’t see any) but sometimes utube doesn’t show us everything. I would love to see a go over video. Surprised their website didn’t have one. Thanks!
Hmm, that's weird that the jar shattered. Probably pulling too strong of a vacuum. Those purpose-built lid sealers likely have a safety valve so it automatically opens if the vacuum becomes too strong. I've seen other videos where chamber vacuum sealers have been used to evacuate mason jars. One model had a way to limit the air inrush rate. Maybe that's the key to not shocking the container?
Off topic,Liza you look fabulous in blue!💙 I’ve went to the site to place my thrive life food order and I can’t get pass the very end green button that says next! 😭
No, that jar breaking is operator error. Use a mason jar, and DO NOT custom set that very high, maybe a 10, and you'll be fine! By that sound of your jar breaking you had way to much pressure in that chamber, the jar didn't stand a chance once you equalized the pressure!
I have a chamber sealer that works well on odd-shaped jars. The regular-sized canning jar lids vacuum-seal better with the hose if you double the lids. The top one will come off, but the bottom one will seal.
Put 2 lids on the jar when using small mouth jars - then put the top on. Don’t know why it works, but it does. Seals without fail!
Wow! I'm gonna try that. I've never been able to get a seal with small mouth containers.
I just bought the hands free little jar sealer you have. She far so good
Thanks for the great advice. You’re the best. Love 💕 and Hugs. ❤❤❤
Just ordered my CV12. Thanks for the discount!
Have fun!
I got mine with a discount it came out to $390. could not beat that

It is awesome for sure!

Maybe not a half gallon jar, but Wevac has a TH-cam video about sealing jars…in the chamber.
I always have trouble with the regular mouth jar sealer too. The wide mouth one always works perfectly
Try putting two lids. The top one won't seal, but the bottom one will generally stay.
@@tonette6592 I saw someone do that maybe I'll try
Great Video!!!

Cheaper and better ♥️
That’s a FANCY lid opener 😝
Right? The Brian V model is awesome........lol

I love vacuum sealers

It's much stronger and easier ( when you read the manual...lol)
I love that.
You're welcome!

Oh goodness! I did the same thing but only a small crack outside only. Then I used the line. Idk why I don’t follow directions 😬
Never seen this vacuumed sealer prior
I have been looking into chamber vacs for over a year. Seriously considering one.
Best investment I've made in a while. Works like a dream
I use a simple jar sealer so simple small and so far all seals are tight

Try going back and refreshing, if that doesn't work I would try to call or email customer service
You didn't explain why the jar broke. Was it in the vacuum sealer?
Yes
Food Savers are a headache at times. I recently got hamburger meat and was vacuum sealing them or rather trying to. It gets so frustrating at times.
OH NO! Shrooms!
I couldn't see what happened to the jar.
Sound listen to the sound. In time you will know when it's done.
I know this is off topic but have to ask Where did you find your back panel behind the stove? It is just beautiful!
Etsy.com
Won't let me order in Canada eh.
In your opinion, how does this compare with the food saver brand cordless handheld jar sealer?
Miles better seal
You need on the small lids put another lid upside down on top of your lid it fits better just on the the small lids

What brand is your sealer? I have so many odd shaped jars!
Come on Leisa, read the manual. I always read the manual (wink, wink). 😁
Suuuuure
OK something else to try😂#leisamademedoit😂
Oops!
That's what I said!
😳
Read the instructions. Lol
I'll eventually get that
