Hi, Great video! One thing I have found though that might help. Those roasts you sealed are great, but labeling them can some times be a pain when you have a lot of them to do, so what I've been doing is taking the store label and sliding it on top of the steak or roast and sealing it inside. That way it has all of the information you need when you pull it out of the freezer, including weight, cut, dates etc.
I had to laugh when you said you tried to seal French toast and it squished them. My daughter and I tried to vacuum seal banana bread to mail to my son. It immediately started to squish the whole loaf of bread. It was late at night and we were so tired and we both screamed and tried to stop the vacuum sealer. By the time we got the bread out of there it was squished into a small lump. We were laughing so hard we were almost in tears.
@SuttonsDaze l don't know if that's a good idea, because when the bread thaws out you have trapped moisture . It would be good if you're going to put it back in the freezer for storage, but to mail it l would think twice.
As I was watching that first bag in the machine, I was like, it's not working, it's not working. And then all of a sudden all the air was sucked out . I was amazed.
Thanks for this video I struggle with my vacuum sealer as well. One tip, cut the label off and place it on top of your meat before you seal it. Then you have the date, weight, and cut of meat.
Until you can afford the chamber vac, put a wad of paper towels on top of your meat, chicken especially to suck up the juice so the bag will seal. If you have space and time freeze the meat a little before bagging & sealing. It helps and yes, am saving my pennies for a chamber vac sealer.
I just got my Wevac cv12. I spent day canning ugly chicken while vacuum sealing flour, etc and putting away. Will come in handy for putting away my freeze dried food when it comes out of the harvest right. Turning a guest room now into new pantry! Keep inspiring Leisa!!!!
Ok. Looks like my bonus this spring is going to be gone sooner than I thought. 😂 I already planned to get a freeze dryer, and now it looks like I'll be getting one of these puppies!
I saw another prepper using one of these a few weeks back. They look awesome but unfortunately not in my budget anytime soon. I will definitely enjoy watching you demo all the things it can do. Thanks so much for sharing.
I used to watch Guga, that Brazilian guy who sous vide’s all his meat on TH-cam. He has one of these too and it looks pretty cool. I ordered a random beef roast box from my favorite farm and have a 14lb beef brisket that needs to be ground into burger and I’m dreading the task. It would go better with the chamber vacuum (according to my son who’s a chef).
I bought a chamber sealer 3 or 4 years ago. Best investment I ever made! Yes, it is an investment but I swear the money I saved on bags alone has paid for it over and over. I make boil in bag meals. When I have potatoes I need to use up I make them into garlic mashed potatoes and freeze. Boil them from frozen 20 min and I have a easy side dish. I LOVE mine ! My son bought one as well
Looks like a nice new machine. I have used food saver for years and dont have the issues you mention. I’m sitting here sealing 560 libs of beef while watching your video. For the price I believe I’ll keep my Food Saver.
I've had a couple Foodsaver machines; they don't last very long and yes, many times the seal doesn't hold. Next machine I get will be a commercial model.
I have a different brand of vacuum chamber sealer, and have stopped regular use of the food saver type. I highly recommend having one. The standard bags are so much less expensive, in the year and a half I have been using it, I have more than made up for the initial cost. I store dried meats in Mylar sealed in the machine and put in five gallon buckets. Meat I put in the freezers are of course vacuum sealed, but since I have pretty much run out of freezer space, I have found that meat vacuum sealed and put in the fridge, lasts up to three times as long as meat in it's original packaging. Lastly, I have had years of experience with h several different brands of food saver types and they tend to have a short working life, the machine I have is industrial quality and has already lasted through more work than any single food saver machine I have ever owned.
That’s a beautiful machine! First name that came to my mind for her was Betty Lou. My feelings will not be hurt if you don’t use it. I hate my vacuum sealer. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, it’s so frustrating! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Hi Leisa, when I started to view this video, a window popped up asking me to join. I chose the not now option, or whatever it said. I did want you to know that I subscribed to your channel during the first video that I watched. I knew right then and there that your videos were something that I can relate to. Also that your personality is very close to mine. I don't want you to think that I don't appreciate you. Just the opposite is true. I will look forward to your videos for a really really long time. I hope that you enjoy your new fancy schmancy food sealer. It looks like something that would have me gushing. I once broke into tears when my husband bought me a rototiller. Yup, for real. Ugly crying wet tears. I'm leaning that when I go to the store, the price of sale meat might go up. Beef chuck hamburger is $3.99 on sale here but I paid a dollar more per pound recently. Now we're back to the $3.99/pound this week so I got 2 family sized (usually around 3 pounds) packages. But I did get pork chops for $1.99/pound this week too, also in family sized packages. Piggly Wiggly. I'm in Southern Wisconsin.
I like how you think, smart, humble and practical. Great info on video and easy to watch, thanks for sharing. My new sealer is going on my Xmas gift list too, maybe some synthetic pump oil.
Jar sealer would make that perfect. They missed opportunity. I love my 25 year old cheapie small fs machine. It cranks still. Lol. Those look fun but now ya need a jar sealer. Bummer.❤
I remember Shotgun Red dud a comparison and cost analysis years ago, and there was no contest. You could use bags that cost just pennies (at that time.lol.). Also being able to vac seal liquids is amazing. This means that you can vac seal leftovers and things you can make in large batches but have ingredients that cannot be canned.
I buy 1000 10 x 13 inch 3 mil. Bags for less than $70 at my restaurant supply store, so less than 7 cents a bag. If you vacuum seal a lot the cost of bags will pay for the machine.
Worked in a deli and hot meals (HMR-hot meal replacemenr) department for 13 years. Loved the vac sealer. I have used two different models would love to have a home model, but with the ability of to do two bags at a time. I had used a model that did 4 at a time. Would like to pick-up a used model.. It's a dream I always had.
I have the Meat vacuum sealer… not the chamber one… I love it! It is harder to use than the chamber one but a lot cheaper and heavy duty compared to the cheap ones… thanks for this video!
I love mine. It’s a game changer, you can vacuum seal liquids with no problems and the bags are a lot les expensive. Mine is an Avid Armor. Worth the money.
I keep a curling iron handy just in case I get a wrinkle where the seal is just in case. That way I seal it again with the hot curling iron where the wrinkle is and I don't waste the bag.
Just bought my second sealer in 20 years. I am saving for another one because I was not pleased with the second one I purchased. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing. I am getting ready to can your unstuffed peppe soup.
I got a chamber vacuum sealer a year or more ago and LOVE IT! We would have two of the regular vacuum sealers going when we were portioning and freezing ground beef, so many problems including having to wait for the seal bars to cool down. I'm giving my other sealers to my daughters - one is probably 20 years old and I felt like it works better than the newer ones. And pre-made bags are awesome too - I hate making my own because I could never get the length right and then you have to seal it twice.
My food saver has all the issues you mentioned, and vacuum sealing is great- its more than just food storage. I have been looking for a new one when for when mine dies, great review. One thing I have learned with vacuum sealing - don't try and cheap out on the bag you use. To me it's like taking a risk with a canning lid (that's been used, some off brand or trying to use a bag that wasn't intended) if your going to take the time to purchase product and put effort into saving it- save it as best you can. Thank for sharing 🥂
I’ve had a chamber vac for several years now and I love it. The bags are sooo much cheaper. It definitely saves money over the long run. You don’t need to refrigerate the marinading meat in the fridge first, it’ll marinade while it’s defrosting. For things that squish, freeze first then vacuum. I’ve frozen large batches of blueberries on sheet pans then vacuum sealed. They lasted a year and a half and didn’t squish. You might be able to vacuum seal things like chili and soup without freezing first, but sometimes it gets sucked out of the bag and makes a giant mess. I always just freeze first then vacuum.
Bought my first vacuum sealer because we were trying to keep meat in a cooler while boating. Raw chicken lasted 2 weeks + in a cooler once vacuum sealed! Game changer when boating or camping!
I have another brand of the vacuum chamber sealer and it is awesome !!!! I made a dedicated space on my counter for it. I use it all of the time. I took cranberries last year and vacuum sealed them and they weren't frozen- it took all of the air out and never crushed a berry-did the same thing with blueberries this year.
Thank you, Leisa. I knew I needed something different than my Vacuum sealer but didn't know about chamber sealers. I have been saving my pennies also for another dream item, but this has become my first choice. I do have a question though; can I use my Food Saver bags in this machine? Thank for the discount also, I am planning on ordering today.
That's a shiny bit of kit!! It's awesome that its working so well for you. (I think it'd be overkill for what we use ours for.) Oooh oooh is this what i have been looking into? Cant wait to see! Just bought freeze dryer, won’t have it for 3-4 weeks. Have the ‘mobile’ black sealer for in the camper to reseal jars, the foodsaver one which is a pain, But looking at these for the fd stuff.
WOW, the best thing I noticed about this machine, is that you didn't have to freeze meat first, otherwise, fresh all the blood oozies to the sealing area if sealing raw.
Yes, I do flour, sugar and rice - all bricks. Some you can dry goods can be shaped before sealing. Shape by putting it into paper bag or lunch bag first to minimise sharp edges on rice etc and keep powder in easy managed package. I’ve learned to label label label.
I know this model and the newest model have an external vacuum port but I can't find any information that it includes the tubing for using on mason type jars. Did yours?
Have you tried wet/juicy food yet? Was wondering how that worked (food saver is a nighmare with wet foods siphoning out onto the heat sealing element).
I looked on the website and they do have a model that is smaller and more affordable. It looks like it has the same features as this one just a bit smaller. Any thoughts? Looks like a great product. Can't wait to see you so mylar bags
I wish commercial companies would develop a vac system for RE SEALING STORE BOUGHT JARS!! IV purchased the following with limited success!! Denni vac system.. Food saver canisters (quick release method) Tried in my commercial vacuum sealer similar to yours.. GLASS JAR BROKE!! Unable to get rubber gaskets/ sealing rings in Scotland SOLD SEPERATLY FROM JARS, or I have not found them!! LOOKED ON LINE ALSO ..Seen another commercial machine with an external port for canisters!! thinking of purchasing that!! If any one in u tube land knows of anything else LET US KNOW OR PROVIDE A LINK/ BRAND NAME.. Kindness ever-ones way Lochness Scottish Highlands..
@@SuttonsDaze does it do leftovers well? What about crackers?..two of my main items I want it for…do you use it for your jars. I use the little black sealer like you have for my jars, love it..
Cheaper than avid armor chamber vac. I’ve been wanting one for a bit too… Santa, please. MOST of the names I can think of at the moment are mildly dirty… so I’ll just be quiet. Cheers!
Have you tried it with freeze dried food yet? I am curious to know if it crushes things like fruit slices or if sharper food might puncture Mylar? I vote you to do all the hard work of finding out haha. Great vid!
Can I just say that in Australia it is more expensive, I bought mine for $800, saved $100-200 in cost across stores. USA/Canada seem to get equipment for less than here. I can't afford a freeze dryer. I feel cost is covered pretty quickly by the savings from food and not buying as many bags for external vacuum sealers. Don't get me wrong I had to save for this, but I thought it was worth it.
Some models allow you to place the canning jars in the machine, pints standing up and quarts on their side. Just remember “finger tight”! They’re strong enough to buckle the lids!
Hi, Great video!
One thing I have found though that might help.
Those roasts you sealed are great, but labeling them can some times be a pain when you have a lot of them to do, so what I've been doing is taking the store label and sliding it on top of the steak or roast and sealing it inside.

I flash freeze all my food then seal in my food saver. No juicy mess no smashed bread products.
I had to laugh when you said you tried to seal French toast and it squished them. My daughter and I tried to vacuum seal banana bread to mail to my son. Oh no! 🤣🤣
Freeze the bread first then seal it
Freezing it first is a great idea. I did make another banana bread and packaged it differently to mail it.
@SuttonsDaze l don't know if that's a good idea, because when the bread thaws out you have trapped moisture . It would be good if you're going to put it back in the freezer for storage, but to mail it l would think twice.
I would never store it outside of the freezer.

Agreed, commercial equipment is made to last much more than home equipment
Oh my gosh, how fricken cool! So happy for you!
Thank you!
Like this for long term storage of flour to get it out of my chest freezer. The bags I bet are cheaper than the vacuum sealer bags I used to use.
I usually cut the original label off the meat so I know what it is, and when I bought.
This is soooo awesome. My next kitchen toy.
That would work well for sous vide (my recent, newly favorite appliance). I have a $40 wand and love it. I love that this works for a marinade
Me too!

Yes you can ♥️
That's a shiny bit of kit!! It's awesome that its working so well for you. (I think it'd be overkill for what we use ours for.)

Hi, with chamber vacuum sealers you do not need to use textured bags, you can use smooth bags. Textured bags are used with sealers where the bag seats on the counter top and only the opened side is in the sealer.
Things that are swishable like bread products, you could flash freeze them and then vacuum seal them. Great product 😊
Great Video, thank you for sharing this awesome sealer! I would name it "Bella" because it's a beauty!
Love the double line seal
Me too
You can seal jam jars ..
About time you got around to getting one 🤪
Chamber vacuum smooth bags are way cheaper than the textured “Food Saver” ones. There is also a way to still make use of the textured bags on the rolls, if for some reason you needed to vacuum pack something longer.
Yeah, im loving that I can use my current bag stash
Oooh oooh is this what i have been looking into? Cant wait to see!
Just bought freeze dryer, won’t have it for 3-4 weeks. Have the ‘mobile’ black sealer for in the camper to reseal jars, the foodsaver one which is a pain, But looking at these for the fd stuff.
That is amazing so excititing when the whoosh came 😂😂😂
I'm so jealous right now!
That's as much fun to watch as making pita bread in the oven! 🤩
Oh yes!
I use food saver and chamber vacuum sealer. I use both for different foods. Yes, my bread got squished to.
WOW, the best thing I noticed about this machine, is that you didn't have to freeze meat first, otherwise, fresh all the blood oozies to the sealing area if sealing raw.
Leisa what about doing jars? Is there enough space to lay one down? I've had one on my wish list! Thanks for sharing this.
This is neat. I’ve been looking to purchase a vacuum sealer. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I am so jealous lol. But I can enjoy watching the videos of you enjoying yours.
Question: for your experiment... I want to know if turns powdered milk into a brick.

Those are pretty awesome beef prices Leisa. I saw Wally World stew meat today for $8.98/lb. Yeah. A new high for here in NE Tenn.
Just picked up the 11 in box of bags too
I had two food savers that sucked!! One vacuum but not seal. One sealed but would not vacuum. I need a new one
They are so frustrating
I want one 🥰👍😉
I've seriously had meat last 4yrs, just had some the other day:) I'd name her Chamber Maid! Lol, she does all the things!
You can also then sous vide the steaks in the bag.
It's early and I found your discount code😊
That’s amazing
I know this model and the newest model have an external vacuum port but I can't find any information that it includes the tubing for using on mason type jars. Did yours?
Can you revac a bag. If Iput two items in one bag and take out one, can I reseal the one item and put it back in the freezer?
I suppose, though I've never done it myself
Just to confirm., Will advise vacuum seal gallon size mylar bags it looks like it will I just wanted to confirm?
Yes
If you flash freeze your French toast and quick breads, first they work better and don’t get squished when you put them in the vacuums chamber
it seems to have to run through a vacuum cycle to just do the sealing??? there is no way to just get it to seal without it going on??
I would look at the ncfhfp
This is cool
so you dont have to freeze things first? i like to seal our chips after we open them can you use this without the vacuum? like just easl then
Yes
Have you tried wet/juicy food yet? Was wondering how that worked (food saver is a nighmare with wet foods siphoning out onto the heat sealing element).
I'm ordering this today on cyber Monday. Do you have a code for this?

14:30 yes, she said she's got a video coming up on it.
I looked on the website and they do have a model that is smaller and more affordable. It looks like it has the same features as this one just a bit smaller. Any thoughts? Looks like a great product. Can't wait to see you so mylar bags
If the smaller size will work for your situation, then thats the best one to get for certain. Always get what works best for yo u.

Leisa, do you still like your chamber vac. I am looking to purchase one..
Freaking LOVE IT!! They'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands kinda love it....... highly recommend.
Cheers!
Hahahaha
Have you tried it with freeze dried food yet? I am curious to know if it crushes things like fruit slices or if sharper food might puncture Mylar? I vote you to do all the hard work of finding out haha. Great vid!
That's what I'll be showing next haha
Ooo...mylar bags AND oxygen absorbers??? Waiting here with bated breath...🥰
Does it have an attachment for canning jars?
Yes, it has a hole to vacuum seal canisters.
Some models allow you to place the canning jars in the machine, pints standing up and quarts on their side. Just remember “finger tight”! They’re strong enough to buckle the lids!
Will this handle 15 ml Mylar bag? Want to buy more rice and seal up in 5 gallon Mylar bag will this work in this CV12
A 5gl bag is too big
I’d name her Rosie…..as in Rosie the Riviter…..she works hard, she does her thing and wins every time!! I can’t afford her…..😢😢😢
Aaah love it!
How about The Chamber Maid (Made) ?
I hope someone sees this
I know this video isn’t new but I have a question
Will this accommodate a whole chicken..???
Thanks
Yes, absolutely
After they are vacuumed sealed, how long can they stay frozen?
Until you thaw them without worry of freezer burn
Can you seal a whole chicken in it?
Yes
The other cool thing is the chamber vacuum does a double seal😮
Yes!
