Nyssa, I loved this video. I don't need one of these, but I found this hugely informative. I also think your natural way of presenting things helps loads.
Thanks for the overview. A quick suggestion that you dont need to flip the lid latch up when operating. The lid will stay closed due to the vacuum then pop open all the way when done. Makes production work a lot faster!
Your demonstration of this vacuum sealer was fantastic. You went above the companys expectations im sure. This could be good for you to be able to get products you need or want with just the cost of your time. I myself like watching these kind of demonstrations about new to me products. Well done!
Hi Nyssa , I have been flat chat so have just caught up on your amazing videos.. Always makes me hungry with the wonderful food you serve... Your Vevor vacuum sealer works fantastic and I am sure you will find a spot, plus make good use of it... great help also from Darryl Apollo🤔 and sonnet ... I am sure the company will be very pleased at your demonstration. .. chow for now... 😊
I hope you love it. My husband bought one several years ago when he was crabbing every year (lots of picked crab meat and crab cakes to freeze!) I thought he was crazy for buying it (expensive), but I’ve eaten my words because we still use it all the time. It does such a great job and I regularly defrost food by submerging in cold water. No leaks (unlike ziploc bags.)
Nyssa, you did a splendid presentation on the vacuum sealer. The company should love it! It should save you time, money, and freezer space, just to mention a few good things about it. Janice from Arkansas USA
thank you. You answered a lot of questions I had and they didn't give any instructions for these. Thank you so much. Yes it is a great machine and yes I had to find a spot for it on a metal cart.
There was definitely a learning curve, one thing I decided was it was much easier to buy bags sealed on three sides already rather than trying to seal bags before use!
😀Just bought the same model today for packaging our home butchery products. Girl, you made me realise I have bought a beast! I am mentally finding a spot to keep it handy. Great review video, Nyssa and crew.
It is huge! But it is such a good piece of equipment, so easy to use (though I do like buying the bags that are sealed on three sides to make things that little bit simpler)
I think it is a very useful item, I think we'll enjoy having that really good seal on things! we'll see how they go after defrosting, but the thickness of the seal etc all looks super promising!
Fantastic review Nyssa, you definitely can use something like that , you deserve things to make your life easier with all you have to do living off grid.. I'm so happy companies are reaching out to you ❤
I think over winter he'll feature a bit more! we do a lot more project work and things together in winter I've discovered, its been a learning curve working out how our schedules go across the seasons! :D
These are great chamber vacuum sealers. It took me a bit to get used to mine, but I use it for everything. I do plastic bags for freezing, and mylar for long term storage.
Great video and loved seeing the kids eagerly helping. I think you did a magnificent job showing how you’re using it and I’m sure in time you’ll have a lot more suggestions for us.
Hey Nyssa, thanks for the excellent presentation, I have a Vevor deck oven and it rocks. They make some great gear. I'm gonna grab one of these and your vid sure helped convince me. Keep up the good work. Cheers, gazza
Been watching your fascinating videos from Idaho, USA for a few months now and getting exhausted watching all you accomplish. You actually remind me of my younger self when I tried to make virtually everything from scratch, but I never attempted all you do. I don't normally watch many sponsored videos, however, I made an exception, because I could tell this was a product you would use on a regular basis and not something you were simply doing to get a free product we'd never see again. You definitely need a good vacuum sealer. You did an exceptional job! It was much more in depth and interesting than many other sponsored videos. 👍
Thanks for the video, i have one of these for past 2 years, , BTW, you don't need to put the bar over the lid when in use, the vacuum will hold the lid down and pop up when done, it's just for storage
Years ago I worked in an independent butchers shop in a small rural town, population 3,000. The vacuum sealer machine we used was a cryovac and much larger and more powerful than a home unit. Using the cryovac was part of my job description.
I found this video while researching which chamber vacuum to buy to replace one that I wore out. I must say you did an excellent review. I agree with another commenter in that there is no need to raise the bar to keep the lid closed while sealing. That is meant to keep the lid closed while not in use. Also, You'll get better seals and save a lot of money if you do switch to the pre made smooth bags.
I also have a chamber vacuum (different brand) works great for liquids and sauces. However did you know the foam rubber gasket on standard vacuum sealer (not a chamber vac) will in time weaken causing air leaks which keeps a sealer running until all air is out? It’s not that the machine is getting weaker but likely is the foam rubber gasket letting air in. This happened to me but I couldn’t find a replacement gasket so FYI to fix that issue you can replace the gasket if you can find one or do what I do which is wet a paper towel and wipe the foam rubber gasket with it which will create an air tight seal. You could try oil but it will likely smoke when it seals. Thanks for the video
This was very interesting, thank you. I haven’t considered a chamber type for home use - maybe I watch too many cooking shows on TV but this seems like a commercial kitchen appliance. My little Food Saver is still going strong for now but at least I have some idea about other options for future use!
I use my sealer for flour. Then I out it in the freezer. Same for yeast too. I break up the pack and out them in small bags then seal them for the freezer. I do reuse the bags though. I just keep cutting them down and resealing them.
Hi Nyssa! Great review on a great product. You put it to the test for sure, and appeared to stand up to your standards. I would have no problem buying one.TFS!!!❤
I should do that actually, I just have them pinched/clipped shut in a black tote atm, and I know they lose some of their flavour/efficacy, but it works fairly well!
Who doesn't love a "New Toy", I have a vacuum sealer from your fav brand. This one wow, I know you don't like freezing your fresh veg especially Broccoli, you have to try at least one batch with this one Nyssa, you'll find it comes out once defrosted, as if you had not even frozen it.
I was totally going to buy a Luvele one! But this one will be great hehe. do you blanch it first ? I was going to do some of the box this month, but I ran out of time and we just ate most of it, because I was all having to blanch and then chill etc before it could be vacuumed
I don't blanch veg Nyssa, I just chop and freeze and mine is tiny compared to this one. Don't think there is anything I have not used the sealer for. Bought one as daughter loves Bubble Tea. Years ago nowhere in Ireland sold it, only UK. Got the powders in bulk style packs and repackaged found they lasted for years the seal is that good. Since then, the sealer has become my best friend. You are going to have such fun lol.
I've had my eyes on a chamber vacuum sealer for years, but never bought one 'cause they're so pricey. But when I came across the Vevor brand a couple of weeks ago, I just had to buy one. It came in within a week and for a moment I thought I had made a mistake. It was huge and heavy. But after having used it I was sold. Not a mistake, but a "must have" product if you do any vacuum sealing at all. The foodsaver types are just not suitable for anything that contains any liquid. But for this thing that's just childsplay. And just a tip for your lemonjuice packaging. You can make the bags smaller (like tube shaped) and keep the short end opened. Then just seal 2 or 3 at a time...
@@OurSmallFootprint I don't see any reason why this would be bad for the machine. It sucks (some) air out, it seals, cools down and releases. nothing weird about that. Nothing to bring extra stress to the machine. You're not making it do anything it wasn't designed to do. There is a slight chance that you may have to change the oil sooner than expected, but I don't see anything else that could pose a problem...
I was a bit scared when I first heard the noises it makes. haha. I have never used a vacuum sealer, but I can imagine it would be a lot of fun, once I got over the fear of it haha. So cool that you got to share this with us. :)
At times we were concerned as well lol, it is definitely loud, but that's why I wanted to do some of those shots with it in action not just voice overed to show that! :D
wow love the dehydrator, the one i have from aldi ive noticed the bags have been filling with air which is a pain, i suppose i got what i paid for😂🇬🇧🇬🇧
Yes, mine has started losing seal too, but it worked fantastically for years for the price! But it was why I was so happy to receive this one because my Aldi one was failing heh
You could add marinade to your meat and vacuum seal them. Then if you wanted you could boil or sous vi the meat in the bag. You could also reheat things like soup or whatever from the freezer in the bag by boiling. Idk if that would make life easier, but it's an idea. ❤
I had considered trying some sous vide though I’m not sure how use go maintaining temp on the gas stove but reheating in the bag, I hadn’t even thought of that, that would definitely make things easier!
looked great if do lot sealing on them shopping hauls , and even to seal flour etc save them been i a sack with all the rodents around ,you done great honest job showing us all the things it does ,
I am doing some research, my biggest issue is the cost of the retort bags initially, they're pretty expensive and most places want me to order 100-500 at once! I need to find a small supply to try it out first.
That does look quite bulky but you vacuum seal so much, I can see were it will be a huge help in your kitchen! Great review! And I love the artwork tattoo's
It is definitely going to need its own 'spot' rather than be something I can put in and out of a cupboard! But I think it is useful enough that that is ok! It will be used consistently enough and in such a way that makes food more efficient that it is ok that it will take up room.
Good intention, but the procedure is wrong The vacuum needle must reach the green area, if it does not, there will not be enough air to activate the pneumatic pillow that seals the bag. If you do not fill the air pillow completely, you will damage the sealing system including Teflon silicone rubber and resistance… and the sealing will be of poor quality. You have to use it with values greater than 5 so that the needle marks the green area If you only want to seal or close the sleeve of the bag, you should not lower the vacuum. It will take longer but the sealing will be excellent and the sealer will remain in optimal conditions.
I contacted the supplier for information on how to seal the bags without running the vacuum, but didn't receive a reply, I watched a bunch of videos and running it without the vacuum doesn't seal the bag, nothing moves, there is no clamping to seal the bag etc. When sealing product, It always goes up into the green, it was only the sealing of the bags without the product that I could never figure out. I'll give it another go without vacuum, but I tried many times!
in regards to the coconut milk powder ( of topic ;)) do you use this as an equivalent to coconut milk in a tin? if so how much would you use to be equivalent to a can of coconut milk?
I’ve been experimenting with it lately, trying to figure out the cost comparison to get similar sort of texture for things! I did 1.5 cups in 2L of water last night for a pastisio sauce that worked quite well, but I regularly just add it dried to things like curries to make them creamier when I’ve already added the tinned coconut cream. We did find that it didn’t work very well for coffee, but it works really well blended with sugar and cocoa for hot chocolate mix
😂😂😂 When you apologised at 16:00 for your texta tattoo, I was thinking wow what intricate work for texta art. Then I’m thinking Nyssa’s arms aren’t so hairy, Oh and she doesn’t have a beard! Darryl!😂😂😂
Lol, his artwork is much better than my temporary stuff! One day we may be able to continue with our permanent artwork, but its a bit out of budget for a while now lol.
I'll have to try them, I reckon there would be enough room, there is a plate in there that you can remove to give a bit more depth. I'm not sure how well lug lid jars vacuum seal ?
@@OurSmallFootprint i have sealed lug jars no problem just barely finger tight them. I made a vacuum chamber using a large glass Ikea 360 jar with a hole in the lid. I put a flat orange rubber seal on top (the kind that goes on a clip lock preserving jar with the wires) then held the jar sealer against the seal (the kind that fits over a Ball Jar lid) and pressed the button on the vacuum sealer. It worked perfectly.
With wetter stuff do you find residual from filling the bags affects the seal? I have issues with wet products when vacuum sealing with my cabelas commercial and have been debating switching to q chamber type vacuum sealer. Thanks!
There is no issue at all with this one, which is what appealed to me about itC using my standard one things like bolognese I struggled with because it would pull too much liquid and affect the seal, this one did straight lemon juice with no issue!
Good review. Using for seafood and prawns would be handy. Taking everything into account, I don't think it is that expensive and would like to get one. You could also vacuum seal important documents and photos to ensure they don't perish with our natural disasters such as cyclones and floods. Maybe vacuum seal first aid kit for car. The uses are endless I think.
Yes, on the website when I was investigating they talk about spare cords and stuff, would definitely be handy, keep things dry and safe. I think I'll find a lot of uses for it, and I think the limitations of the standard suck one aren't there, even for just food stuffs, which will make it worthwhile! From what I looked at too, the bags are quite significantly cheaper as well.
Good +ve review compared to Aldi Crap..I have just wasted my $40 on Aldi crap...which will absorb air few weeks time...nolt a great of sealing compared to Vevor.
I do love my Aldi for really quick stuff that isn't necessarily going to be stored long term, the quality of the bags really impacts how well it works too. But the Vevor is what I reach for now that I have it :D. It definitely holds a seal a lot better.
When sealing meat, freeze it first. You get a better seal. Things like hamburgers and sausages where the seal can crush the food, freeze it first and break the seal before thawing. You get a better end product. Flour and such….i keep mine in glass half gallon jars. What I do keep in seal bags…I put the food in a freezer or storage bag, leave open but fold end down, put in a seal bag and seal it. Works great, good seal, no mess. Wonderful job with the video. That thing looks very heavy. When I seal breaded chicken, it comes out in a big gob. If that happens, leave it. Put in your “oven” and as it heats, gently separate it. Easier when it’s hot. ❤️💚💙🧡🩷🦋🦋🦋
I was concerned re the sausages, but they seemed ok, we shall see! :D. The breaded chicken was pre frozen, so I'm hoping that because it was flash frozen previously when it defrosts it should pull apart, but I'll just attempt to cook it if needed hehe :D It is quite heavy, I definitely will need somewhere for it to live rather than having to move it! Thank you :D
Vevor should be proud of the way you presented and demonstrated this product; thank you, Nyssa (Darryl, Sonnet and Kavik).
Nyssa, I loved this video. I don't need one of these, but I found this hugely informative. I also think your natural way of presenting things helps loads.

Yes, being able to submerge will be super handy! zip locks always seem to end up with little holes in the seam once you defrost them.
You did that well. I'd be pretty happy with that if I was in charge of advertising at Vevor. Good job.
I don't know that my videos are necessarily exactly what they're after lol, but I definitely show it off in a way that seems practical! :D

in regards to the coconut milk powder ( of topic ;)) do you use this as an equivalent to coconut milk in a tin? if so how much would you use to be equivalent to a can of coconut milk?
Howr about salsa jars for sealing?
@OurSmallFootprint thank you so much for your quick reply I just ordered one for myself, greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 😊
Tell "Vanna White" he did a good job showing the finished product
Lol, he totally flourished for you guys! :D
Brilliant
You look pretty in this video kiddo
Thank you :D
Squish?
Lol autocorrect ? :D
Happy St Patricks day
Put on a stainless cart.
I got a stainless trolley for it, but I need to reorganise the kitchen heh.
:D. The breaded chicken was pre frozen, so I'm hoping that because it was flash frozen previously when it defrosts it should pull apart, but I'll just attempt to cook it if needed hehe :D
It is quite heavy, I definitely will need somewhere for it to live rather than having to move it! Thank you :D
@@OurSmallFootprint break the seal on the chick and let it thaw in what you plan to cook it in. If you just heat it, it’s so much easier to separate.
