Just the fact that Blame Game as a whole is about $40 and just Trouble in Pairs by itself is going for around $25 makes it absolutely worth getting imo
@@TaunaMTG They re released the Lord of the Rings precons. I know a few shops around me which had them shipped out, the likelihood in which they will just keep reprinting these until the license expires is high. Just happened this week, thought I'd give you the heads up!
@@groinklus Riders of Rohan is a fairly good beginner one and I can nab it from my LGS for $40. Saurons is only inflated because of Orcish Bowmaster I presume
realy love that graveyard overdrive! Was my first commander after a recommendation of the shop owner and oh well this trust payed out. Lot of fun to get these Lhurgoyfs out and at the same time get some usage of your graveyard. Right know Im on my way to upgrade it, will see how it will pay out.
I'm really new to commander but I would recommend Blumborrow's Animated Army. I just love Bello, let's me play big and fun enchantments and artifacts and smash with them.
@@Pumpavius it’s my favorite deck I own, wins most of the time even against players who have been playing for years plus I really only replaced a couple cards
Will be trying out Blame Game and Jump Scare this weekend, as I got them as birthday gifts. Death Toll looks pretty fun to me as well. Edit: After getting a few games of Blame Game in, I can honestly say it's a very fun deck. Even has a win already. Closing out games can be tricky sometimes, but you're well protected throughout most of the game....and it's fun creating chaos lol. And you draw a crap ton of cards.
@TaunaMTG yeah I might keep it pretty stock for the first game or 2. A few of the creatures are questionable and/or too high CMC, and too many sources of colorless mana. Definitely throwing a Boros Signet in, and Swords to Plowshares and Path.
@@edwarddaignault5243 I’d run some games with it unchanged first and see how ya like it, it’s my deck I keep as a precon if others are playing precons because it’s already pretty strong. I have a friend who’s upgraded it though and it’s nasty so you can’t go wrong either way
Graveyard overdrive is fantastic after upgrades. Corams ability makes it so that if you mill before he attacks you can have multiple cards to choose from to play
I’ve been slowly upgrading Zinnia just focused on etbs, it’s nice that it has Determined Iteration and Echoing Assault in the precon to help spawn more tokens. I added caretakers talent, some creature recruiter etbs among other things. Once it snowballs it goes wide wide
I considered just making a whole second deck for it as I can’t really get all the creatures I want in it. Maybe artifact(creature) deck or even just go all in wide with tokens.
I used both Graveyard Overdrive and Creative Energy. Creative Energy is a really good and fun deck in my experence with energy counters and token spawning considering I just started palying magic a month ago
Zinnia is so damn good. My deck is a burn deck, also zinnia with sword of the squeak or adding in dragon throne of tarkir to give creatures trample is sweet.
Just played my first game of commander and my first game of magic in general last night. I have experience with other tcgs so it went much smoother than expected, just gotta learn all the keywords! Went with the Hail Caesar precon and threw in a few upgrades to make getting tokens more consistent. One of the people in my group was playing Mothman and that seemed interesting as well. Are the Fallout precons considered decent?
I just bought Blame Game but swapped the Commander with Baeloth and Noble Heritage. Can't wait to put everything together. I changed 30 cards (lands included). The precon was on sale for 29,99€ while trouble in pairs sits on solid 20€ on his own in europe (cardmarket)
Dude the new Rakdos deck is pretty strong from all the games ive seen on TH-cam and its pretty easy to upgrade but i deffs like the grave yard deck and the simic deck all getting all three hahah
I don't have much money to buy for MTG, but I think I did pretty well with my choices. I bought the Gonti, Mothman, Dias and Zomine precons. Sadly I could not find the Omo precon for less than 50 so I skipped than one, thankfuly Zimone was close enough replacement. I would pick another would be either of Warhammer 40k, and I would go dor Tyranids simply because is my favorite faction and is Temur, one of my favorite triple color combinations.
I just got into MTG commander and I still haven't figured out what precon to get, I played my first game yesterday online with the Rebellion Rising precon against some friends and got absolutely murdered. A Theft deck seems kinda cool since I can yoink their big stuff which would be pretty funny.
Just got Family Matters, but I'm building around cheating mana costs entirely with Discover mechanics or Key to the Vault so as to just pay Offspring, or using Ethereal Valkyrie to draw cards and Foretell a creature every turn for its mana cost reduced by 2, exactly Zinnias Offspring cost. In the couple of games so far, it's been cool, and Rabble Rousing does both the tokens and the cost cheating. Outside of that, a lot of auto includes for tokens, like Skyknight Vanguard is so good for this deck, and Prince Ilharim from LotR makes a 1/1 for card draw despite not being an offspring target himself.
Energy deck from Mh3 goes well with the science deck from fallout. I mean I personally think it’s better than the graveyards out of the box. But my buddy upgraded his with the science and man we hate that thing. I personally think desert bloom is the best but that’s because it was my first. Tells you how new I am. But I really do think it should’ve been on the list because I built my deck around controlling lands
I was a MTG player from 2003 to 2009. Stopped playing when Planeswalker was starting to hype up. Now I'm looking to go back into MTG, specifically Commander. So that I can join my local community to play some casual Commander fun. I cant make up my mind to start with which Precon deck. Currently looking at Fae Dominion, Explorers of the Deep, Revenant Recon and Quick Draw. Which one would you guys recommend?
@@TaunaMTG back then my main deck was a blue white. Focusing on counter spells, drawing cards, and summon Akroma as soon as possible. So I’m kinda leaning to Quick Draw. Hmm

I built it myself actually. It requires changes to work very well, IMO, and is a bit janky out the box. Once you make a few changes though, it's really great and can get powerful pretty quick
@@zack4977 I had the “science” universe beyond deck and it didn’t really grab me BUT taking cards from it and adding to creative energy made it bonkers! So fun
I just ordered the Animated Army Racoon deck. Is it good? I'm new to the game... and I love raccoons XD! I have another commander called Zaffai, Thunder Conductor, but it's hard to play. There are a lot of spell synergies, and I get lost around turn 6 XD (I'm learning... just give me some time to master it.)
Gotta wonder why endless punishment wasn’t included in assuming it’s because it’s mostly sold out unless you get a bundle of all precons. I think this is a pretty good video but I would have liked to see why you didn’t include some from the sets you chose as well
Endless Punishment is a bit rough out of the box, but also suffers from EVERYONE is going to aim you down because you'll constantly be dealing damage after damage to them. There wasn't really enough payoffs to the dealing damage in it. With upgrades, it's definitely good, but I prefer the others included.
Cavalry Charge is AMAZING, just hard to find. The Disa one I find is fun out the box, but definitely likes having some more mill in it to enable it better.
This really helped me narrow down my choice for my first precon, so thanks a lot! I'm having trouble picking between Quick Draw or Eldrazi Incursion. If you put the price aside and just consider the possible upgrade paths, which of the two are you more likely to buy?
After upgrades; I think nearly all of them can be upgraded to decent levels. It's kinda hard to say based off of budget and such but if I had to pick 3 that I think have the easiest potential to get busted with upgrades. - Quick Draw - Family Matters - Miracle Worker
I was introduced to MTG through the Doctor Who collab, looking for another Commander or good cards that care about time counters if anyone has anyone suggestions?
Nobody mentions Squirrels.....Squirreled Away is a great precon but seems people are running away from it. Also Animated Army is way more reliable than Family Matters, it even has a combo.
Why no mentions for Merfolk and Slivers,in testing(unedited/30$upgrades/unlimited budget) Merfolk are more powerful than Dinosaurs from the same set and are half the price
Personally, I included Dinos because I just liked that deck more and I don't think the power gap was huge. Both are worthwhile though, and I'm considering just expanding that "Expensive but Worth" to a list in the future instead of just a couple
Bro, hard disagree on Peace Offering. Its incredibly poorly constructed, with a mana curve this high you will rarely double cast to make up for the cards you give away. The new cards do barely anything to help you at all, its just no plan group hug, plus the same old same old boring +1/+1 counter cards that have been reprinted in pretty much every counters deck.
@TaunaMTG what do you mean by hard to find?, in LGS's or online? Because the precons of Lotr are kinda flooding the market, at least in Europe, you can find a lot of sellers in CardMarket and even in Amazon. I know you live in Australia so maybe there it's hard to find from some reason.
