Kevin, I would love to see you give this car back to the original owner, I would also like to see you give updates on what he is doing with it. I got rid of a car years ago and regretted it ever since so when I found it again I promptly bought it back.

It has a big dent in the door.... When my dad was doing survivor duty after the Vietnam war, he was pretty upset at one point and punched a big dent in the door of his Plymouth Satellite. Kevin - the call you made to the original owner of the Satellite is one of those events that effortlessly renews my faith in humanity. Despite the efforts made by some to convince us to the contrary, the number of complete strangers out there who are genuinely decent, engaging, and willing to help us, or accept help from us, vastly overwhelm the small percentage of people who could not be bothered. Plus, it's always great to get the backstory on a cool car you and Mook wrench on - all the best from Wes in Pittsburgh!

Hey there Kevin & Mook from Queensland Australia, First of all I have never left comments before so bare with me. I ve been mechanic for about 38 years and in the last couple of years I started to lose my passion for the trade, I found your channel about 12 months ago and have watched almost all of your videos from the beginning, your knowledge and compassion for old vehicles and machinery is fantastic, your in depth explanations are second to none, in saying that I want to thank you because watching you work, brought back many fond memories and I have finally got my passion back for the trade, I have been looking for old machinery and vehicles and have been enjoying myself working on them unfortunatey not all were in good enough condition but the passion is the journey. We dont have the variety of cars here that you guys have but its still fun. So enough of that, listening to your conversation with the original owner just shows how awesome you are and the respect you have for people, keep up the wonderful work and I look forward to watching more from you and Mook, I would love to get over ther one day and meet you in person. NOT AT ANY OF YOUR PRIVATE LOCATIONS 🤣🤣🤣😉 cheers.

This video is something I really needed to watch. I just lost my grandfather after he fought for 45 days to stay alive (passed away last night around 11 PM, 3-31-23), and it's been tough coming to terms with the fact he's actually gone now.
He had a love and respect for MOPARs that was only rivaled by one of his brothers who we lost in 2018, so seeing an old Plymouth get brought back to life for a second chance on the road is a good reminder of one of the things he loved most about cars: the simple joy of fixing them and driving them.
When we found out he had been given a limited frame of time left to live (20 days at most), I switched plans from buying a Pontiac Fiero to restore (my dream car) and brought home a $400 1988 Nissan Sentra sedan that's receiving a ground-up rebuild. Kevin, your videos have helped me stay in the mindset of getting that Sentra on the road so that it can live a new life that it never got to have before. I don't think a simple "Thank you" could cover how much I appreciate your content and everything you do for the cars you save.

In '79, when I was 16, purchased a tawny gold metallic '72 Roadrunner for $1200. On my 17th birthday, the 340 threw a rod doing 95mph at midnight. Dropped in a 360 then a 400 with the top end from a 440 magnum. Parked it in the family barn in '87, got it running in '98 and drove it to a friends barn where it has sat since.
They finally began to appreciate in early '90's. I have yet to see that body style at a car show. Cannot afford to tow it 500 miles and begin restoration. Maybe someday...

Very cool that this car came from your hometown and that you found the original owner. It really is in remarkably good condition being a Mopar. I'm not a fan but I do have a 97 Dodge with a 360 Magnum four-by-four pick up with 200,000 miles still going strong. I love your videos and the work that you do. Keep it up and be safe 👍✌️🇺🇲

I had one of these in that dark olive green you see on a lot of Mopars of this era (also had a '69 Charger SE same color), with a 318 and column auto, back in the late '80s when I was collecting clunkers and getting 'em (more or less) roadworthy. It would definitely be cool to have one again, love the body style. Thanks for the entertaining. :-)

where I live hear in Atlantic Canada, old iron like this just isnt seen anymore. The salt from the roads and oceans rotted this stuff out years ago. To find any 60s to 90s cars that isnt rotted in a field is rare

That’s so sweet that you found the original owner- I found my dads old tractor I hadn’t seen I was 9 a Case ih 1594, here in uk it was still getting registered for road use but I knew the licence plate number and I found it again 2 weeks ago 245 miles away from where it originally worked was an awesome feeling to see it again and finally drive it - aged 40 - 31 years later it was the one responsible for me restoring my own of the same model- can’t wait to see the road trip you’ve made the 1st owners day

Hey Digs, Small story. I recently purchased a 2000 Chevy E1500 limited edition by Starcraft Van. Been sitting in a yard for 10 years cuz it needed a fuel pump. I thought i was in for a hellava treat cuz i dont even have a lift. But this little voice inside said “check the relays” and sure enough the fuel pump relay had a black spot a prong looked blue and purple like itd been overheated. $20 and a trip to O’Reilys later, it shot back to life. I added a whole bottle of octane booster cuz it said it had half a tank of fuel in it and some new good gas and she runs like a dream. This stuff is awesome!

It sounds exactly like my dad's 76 dodge pickup. It had an earlier 318 shoved in it, and the car 883 4 speed. It was white and had 10 inch wide white spoke wheels, and I absolutely thought it was the coolest truck in the world. Wish I had my 78 dodge 4x4 back, that thing was unstoppable.

Always love the way the 318 sounds. Grew up in a 70 Satellite with a 318 and eventually had it as a teen for a while. Sold it for $500 around 86 as a fully running car with the typical Chrysler electrical anomalies.

I'm leaving this, as a critique, this has been your best video hands down in a very long time you didn't jump into just getting it running doing brakes and then sending it on its way you took your time you broke it down to like getting everything cleaned out. I really think that this takes you back to your roots. I've been watching you since you started and I rarely comment I really think you need to be doing more multi-part series for cars. I think you're missing out on a lot of views and content by rushing through your videos. I look forward to watching more 😎

You just can't kill those old 318's. Had one that sat up for over 20 years and no lie, fired up (just for a second) first time I hit the key. Made me a Mopar man for sure. Fix her up, drive it a while, and see where the road takes you. Great vid Kevin and Mook.

Love this video. It's great you tracked the original owner. In 1979 I bought my first car a '71 Satellite Sebring. Emerald green with half a vinyl top, two tone interior. 318ci 2 barrel. Trunk was real rusty. Needed a tranny after 2 mos. Wish I still had the car. Bought a second one after a fender bender for parts. pd $150 for that one. Keep up with the project!
