Problem with Turtle Beach is their headsets are made out of cheap brittle plastic. I've had to get a refund on numerous versions, which is why I stopped getting them. In New Zealand and Australia, we have excellent consumer rights legislation. RIG is good, but I'm considering other options.
Yeah had mine 2 years and the headset snapped off the right cup bad design brittle plastic I was only lifting them off my head when this happened and I also take care of my things phoned turtle beach and the were no help what so ever was out of warranty even though it is a bad design I was hoping they would replace them has they cost 150 pounds so love turtle beach sound but will never buy another turtle beach headset very poor customer service I would except a lot more life out of them
Im on my 3rd headset its been around 1 month for each before the the screw in the mic eats away at the mic cord, the plastic shell of the mic get shredded or i cant hear ANYTHING

I 100% agree! I hope Turtle Beach sees this. I've use TB for years but my last 2 pair the 700 and 700 gen 2s literally just fell apart. They break in the same spot near the ear cuffs and there are no replacement pieces. I think it's time to switch brands.

Mine falling apart and I haven’t had it for a year. The plastic doesn’t hold up. Does yours have cracks on the left earmuff arms??? Mine does and I don’t know why!
Ive had 2 TB headsets, one was wired and 2nd one is what im currently using is stealth 700 gen 2, both headsets break around the swivel where the speakers/earmuffs turn. Im getting Nova 7p

A quick Google search shows a ton of people reporting it cracks and breaks there My 2nd set of these just broke at that same spot yesterday Turtle Beach used to be the best, but the last several years they have putting out cheap plastic garbage with virtually no actual sound customization The audio on the 700x is mediocre at best The spatial audio is absolute garbage as there's no blending of the sound If you are turning from left to right the sound just picks up and then stops on the one ear then starts up on the other ear Turtle Beach used to give us a massive equilizer to fine tune the sound, but every friggin headset now has the same worthless presets They give you ONE custom preset but your only choices are a tiny adjustment to bass and treble Turtle Beach used to be the best, but sadly not anymore

I cant believe this, I have loved turtle beach for over a decade just got some stealth 700 gen 2 max’s this Christmas as a treat for myself and out of the box so many problems and volume wheel doesn’t work at all and stuck at max volume, if I change volume on my pc it breaks completely and I have to hard reset it to get audio back. Apparently no refund.
Steel Series Arctis 7 has a major flaw in that there is major stress where the head band meets the ear cups due to it's design. The plastic where those two points meets is breaking on mine on both sides and I've been pretty gentle with them. I believe this design carries over to the higher models. I got about a year out of them so not terrible but it's a shame because the rest of the head set still works well.
Lucky for me I’ve had none of these issues over the year I’ve had them with hundreds of hours of gaming. They practically look brand new as well. These are honestly great and I’d be bummed if this started happening to mine

Over the 2 years I’ve had this, I am so impressed on how good it sounds compared some of the best on the market. I personally think that the sound quality and mic is better than the Steelseries arctics Nova Pro.
What the fffffkkk is going on with the dongle issue. Literally used my headset a handful of times before going to connect them and the dongle will not connect, audio hub won't update, headset gets updated and dongle gets stuck in bootloader mode and then disconnects while the update is happening. I'm losing it.
The 600 has a slightly different construction and in my opinion, built better than the 700 gen2. Becare of the foldable mic, I’ve seen them break on both my sons headsets (they weren’t too careful, lol) thanks for sharing
I’ve had to buy 2 of the 600 version and they both broke in the same spot twice. The plastic sliders on the side aren’t durable at all. The 700 have the slides in metal now but according to you they are still bad? I loved these headphones 😭 sad to see the poor build quality
I'm using the stealth gen2 for PS4 daily for about a year now and the materials are holding up fine. However, it has some trouble with the software. I'm using it with the USB dongle at my PC and sometimes it has trouble to connect to the dongle. Also, when I use it via Bluetooth with my laptop, the volume control does not react correctly sometimes. But all in all it is usable for me. I recently updated the firmware and I have not encountered thes problems since.
I know you can set that extra volume dial to anything you want with the app, so maybe you need to check on the app? I have no idea if that's the solution or not.

At the moment the Barracuda X 2022, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 max, the blackshark V2 pro (hyperspeed or 2023 version) and the Epos H3pro are the ones I'm looking for at the moment. Very different budgets of course, but I'm going to wait until black friday and I think it will mostly depends on the discounts which one I'm getting. But so the Stealth 700 gen 2 max isn't really very durable it seems... thx for letting us know, now that one is more of a doubt, while before it was the one I was thinking of the most.
I just got one of these headsets for Christmas, and the volume dial doesn’t work AT ALL. I’ve done everything from making sure the firmware is up to date to resetting them. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?
I just got these 700 gen 2 max, and I was like am I crazy I can’t lower the volume directly on the headset!!? I updated to latest firmware, I can’t control the volume on the Xbox itself either as you mentioned, I had to manually lower through the in game’s master volume! This is crazy! I think I’m going to return them…
They are a nightmare arnt they. At the time I recorded this video. The volume and mixer worked fine. I think it stopped working once they updated the Xbox about 6 months back.

I had 2 pair trying to sort it out. Unfortunately could get sorted. Went to the nova 7x and they’re so loose I can’t wear them. Also can’t update on mac so I’m unable to uncap the volume 😢. 9x was perfect in every way. I accidentally broke mine trying to reset on the wrong side speaker no longer works 😂😂😂 so now I have to spend 200 on something I’m settling on
Great headset lasted me a few months and then the headset audio would just stop even tho it was still connected. Then it would reconnect and it just would crackle and cut out its so damn annoying. I rlly loved this headset but I couldn't take turning it on and off every 15 minutes I just snapped the damn thing in half I got so sick and tired of it
My turtle beach recon broke after only 8 months, headphone just snapped off. Great sound but poor plastic. Hoping can get a replacement on warranty but it was a present and no longer have the box.. waiting to hear back
Turtle Beach headsets are this generations Mad Catz. If you know, you know. Some people will have a good experience with their products while others get defective stuff from them. They cheap out on A LOT of materials so it doesn't surprise me one bit. They've done it for over 2 decades now, their qualify control is the worst on the market considering what they charge

My last tb was the first generation 700..... awful..... never understood the appeal..... got an ls50x on sale a couple years ago, that effectively lasted twice as long through very hard use, and it made both these and steelseries seem like trash cans in the audio quality department. Mic was OK for a gaming headset. You can get those for around the same price, and they blow turtles away .
@MannyHaribo np..... they can be found pretty cheap..... after two years of very heavy use, to no surprise, my battery is starting to go, and to also no surprise, the leather headband cover is wearing out, likely due to me hitting my head a lot more than the average human, due to where I play most, being on the road. Ear cups are replaceable, I think got 30 or 35 a pair on their website. Also, dual mic. Very comfortable.... I've feel sleep with them on, while listening to music...... woke up all listening to music, and my ears didn't hurt.

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE ALERT! In Canada these sell for $250+tax and you'll get roughly 6 months out of them before the plastic becomes fatigued and eventually falls apart. I've gone through $500+ within in a year, having replaced the same exact pair only for the exact same fault to occur twice. (I thought I bought a lemon 1st purchase). Doesn't even matter if you have a big head or not, these headsets will crumble just by looking at them. It really sucks spending $500+ on x 2 'top-of-the-line' headsets only to have both of them completely fall apart within' a year and completely unwearable. I'll never buy another Turtle Beach headset again. The plastic they use is CHEAP & BRITTLE. 100% accurate description. I've sent x 2 Turtle Beach 700 Gen headsets to the landfill where they can properly rot with the rest of the garbage. Exactly where this particular headset belongs. I'll never buy another Turtle Beach product for the remainder of my life. I have no trust in their products. Not everyone is rich and can afford to replace their headset every 6 months and like I said, they will fall apart before your very eyes and there's nothing you can do but swallow your pride, understand and realized you've been completely ripped off and start saving up and invest in a different brand. I can say as of yesterday my headset that’s 3 months old has gone to shit. Won’t update and won’t let me connect to my Xbox.
